Found everything we were shopping for. Customer service on the sales floor was poor. Several young ladies visible in footwear and mens wear, but no one said hello or asked if we needed help. I will give the young lady on register 6 a 5 star 🌟 shout out ! 🤩. She greeted us with a smiled made eye contact said hello and asked if we found everything we needed 😁..YaY finally a friendly face. Great job and thank you for making our visit pleasant. I didnt get her name but it was the only register open and our transaction time was 15:02 on 09/27/21

I purchased wading boots and the size on the box was different than was inside. I went back and exchanged no questions asked.

Online ordering is easy and orders are filled and ready for pickup very fast. Staff is helpful and friendly. Academy is one of my favorite stores.

If its fishing gear youre looking for, go to Wal-Mart instead. We bought a Penn reel at both places. The one from Wal-Mart was a much better reel for less than half the price we paid at Academy.

This place has everything! Its clean and well organized, easy shopping. And DOG FRIENDLY!!

Store is good for the most part. Except I bought a kayak that has a transom and is designed to be used with a motor. Went to get TX numbers and had a whole ordeal getting the proper paper work.

My daughter and I went there to look fore some shoes she could work in. There was a sales lady working in the shoe Dept. When my daughter ask the lady about certain shoes the lady went out of her way to help my daughter.The store is always clean and the employees are always so helpful.

Great experience found a lot of things on sale

Found what I needed. Shout out to the person at the entrance when two people tried to walk in without masks. They told her they didnt and she told them they did to enter as she handed them masks. Another shout out to Sally our cashier. She was super friendly.

Asked tons of people about education.... turns out that this is a sporting goods store, how neat.

They have a good selection of ammo compared to other locations during this time.

Very calm and full of after Christmas deals! Very friendly staff ready to help at the drop of a hat. Not crowded at all. Shelfs were a little barren because of the great deals! Definitely one of my best after Christmas holiday shopping experiences!

These people cant even answer simple questions over the phone or in person. Dont waste your time here.

Came in a little late with 10 minutes to closing to renew my fishing/hunting license.Since I’m from out of town (SA), I don’t carry my VA paperwork and the manager didn’t want to help out even though my expired license and my drivers license have all my info.Seems like they didn’t want to help since it was close to closing time. Thanks Academy.

I don’t know who is in charge of managing this Academy but they deserve a high-five and a big fat bonus. Every single time I’ve been to this location every employee is super nice, super helpful, and in a good mood. Your prices here are very competitive and the selection is amazing. Wish they had a wider variety of guns, ammunition, and various other hunting and fishing merchandise but I also understand if the market isnt here for that kinda deal yet. But regardless I want more variety of guns this is America and I wanna flex it on them gun grabbing communist and the British people

We havent used our new folding chairs.But i can tell you, online ordering was not a problem its very simple.Picking up curbside is even more convenient. Within an hr i recieved notice that my order was ready. Picked it up with no problem.

Im not reviewing the whole store because Ive only really been to the fishing and firearms side. I wanted to point out that one of the guys working the firearms section is really knowledgeable and helpful. I didnt get his name but he did say he was a veteran and knew extensively about all of the firearms yall carry even the ones out of stock. 5/5 review for just that department.

Always busy and never fully stocked.

Lots of space but not much on the shelves.

Academy rarely has price tags on things and is really terrible at stocking merchandise. On top of that, the things they stock are not appropriate for the area youre in. For instance, we live where most of the fishing is saltwater, yet they stock up freshwater gear. They dont take note of what sells fast/well so its impossible to get a hold of what you need. They stock tons of brown waders instead of camo for some ridiculous reason and they never have the size you need. They will sell fly rods but no fly line. The list goes on. Its as if the people who order for academy are more suited for almost any other job. The racks when empty say you can order online, yet you go online and find that its not available to ship and not available in store. What is that about? We got our reels spooled and it looked like a tangled up birds nest, so now we have to unspool all that line and respool before we are able to use them. Not sure why we bother. Options are thin, I suppose as far as going elsewhere.

This store is in Corpus Christi, yet no CC Hooks Shirts for sale, and only 1 register open .. I was 1/2 back in the sales area .. sorry, Ill have to find my shirt somewhere else, and though Im normally a patient person, I was not going to stand in line for that long for no shirt and one pair of tennis shoes

Whoever hired the Napoleon complex named Robert really needs to train him on customer service. He literally threw a box of inventory to yell at me because he thought I was someone else. Then proceeded to kick me out of “his store” because I had the nerve to raise my voice as well. He scared an older couple with his antics to the point where the elderly lady is trying to push her husband while telling him “let’s get out of here”. Then I had a separate couple come up to us telling us we needed to file a complaint because he was out of line. I have literally never been yelled at then have the employee say “you’re not going to talk to me that way” when I respond to his piss poor behavior.

Academy has a wide variety of sports equipment and sports wear. There is a pretty good inventory of footwear for running, baseball and basket all. However, there was a shortage of mens walking shoes. Also, I noticed qn absence of tennis raquets and tennis footwear. Overall, a good sports store.

They usually have the wrong type of fishing gear for some reason. We live near the ocean but only have an abundance of freshwater gear. They dont pay enough attention to keep things stocked properly. Its a clean store, bat least. Friendly employees.
