Yes some of their item is a bit expensive...But their product warranty is excellent. I have my raincoat for almost 8 years and it s no longer water proof during Portlands heavy rain, I show it to the sales person and they say it cant be fix, but I can go to the current raincoat selection and pick out a replacement there at no charge. Thanks how they stand behind their products and also why our family have many clothing items from Patagonia!
My favorite company, they not only make gear that keeps me comfortable and safe while doing the things I love but they take great care in the environment. Love worn wear and getting to recycle gear to people who need it while repairing the gear I have used for year. I would Patagonia 1000000 stars if I could.
My lifestyle doesnt justify dropping over 400 dollars on a jacket that keeps out snow. Honestly, how easily it feels to tear the fabric makes that price ridiculous. I shop around and get a whole snow outfit minus the boots for half that price, but some like the name brand. If you got the monies, then why not?
Parking is brutal if you want to make a quick errand from the suburbs but the staff are all excellent and its always worth the time & effort to get there.
Great product return service. Manager is really about taking care of his customers. Can’t even imagine how hard it must be to hire good help like him in Portland especially if your company is downtown. Good job corporate!! I’m Scotch Guarding this one to keep from fading and streaking from Portland rain.
I love this place. All the staff are amazing & the store features some really cute & unique pieces. Favorite brand of clothing. ❤️
Helpful and knowledgeable staff helped me find exactly what I needed
Politely declined their repair recommendation and was treated with an irritating level of rude unprofessionalism.
Superior staff, great products, etc. have made me a repeat customer.
I love Patagonia products - theyre made well and perform great! I recently got a big rip in the arm one of my favorite pieces, a Fitzroy down jacket. I took it to the Patagonia store and the staff was super helpful. They assured me theyd be able to repair it and there would be no cost to me. I just received the repaired jacket, and its perfect! They replaced the entire outer baffle of the section that was ripped using the color I requested and it looks fantastic. Im so pleased!
I hunted for parking... Paid for parking... Almost broke my ankle in the snow walking to Patagonia... Discover its by appointment only.. The store is empty... The staff looks at me with a vacant stare... I try to book appointment on my phone... No slots available for today... Store is still empty....I will just buy second hand on ebay for gosh sakes.
Staff was incredibly helpful and beyond cheerful, making my exchange at the store at pleasant one. Thank you Drew for your help.
Absolutely amazing staff, service and product! We need more companies to take note because this is how you have a customer for life.
The staff at the store have been rude to me on more than one occasion. I don’t know what their deal is.
Their appointment-based shopping system is a complete joke. They have a huge store with 4 people in it. Why even bother?Spend your time and money at a store like Filson where you can actually shop and make purchases without an appointment.
I’ve always had good luck finding high quality organic clothing and jackets made with recycled materials. I’m 5-7 and stout but the short length pants fit well. Their hemp shirts are also super soft and rugged (made in Sri Lanka). My experience was great but my GF had a hard time finding anything. Their selection of jeans/pants is limited for women and they do not carry sizes for a full figured woman.
Staff here are super friendly and helpful, even under the added stress of operating within the rules of Covid-19.
Patagonia is one of my favorite companies out there. Stoked to have a store in my town, especially with such a friendly and helpful staff. Really like the free 2-day shipping if right item is not in stock. Have been great with returns and exchanges as well. Though it is downtown and traffic/parking is challenging, so definitely walk/run/bike there if you can (well for that matter, walk/run/bike anywhere you can :-)
Love that they stand for fair trade and sustainability
This is a review of the Portland store, not their merchandise. Its a small store. Small footprint. Helpful staff. All on-street parking, which can be a challenge. They continue to have an area where you can learn about and take action on important conservation issues.
I rarely write reviews, but my daughter and I visited this store tonight,w and were struggling to find the right jacket/fit. Two different sales guys helped us, and both were extremely patient, friendly and informative. We left store with exactly what we were hoping for thanks to their extra efforts. Thank you. We really appreciate it.
Fun jams at the store put me in a good mood right away. An extremely generous credit was given after bringing in an old rain jacket for recycling. In a world of corporations after nothing but profits, Patagonia sets a lofty example of how a business can be a force of positive change.
Great place to meet people and have great fun and get great stuff 👍
Can I tell you how much I love Patagonia and their “save the environment from waste” philosophy?! I bought a bag 6 years ago and have been patching it up myself since. It seemed like it was at the end of its life so I brought it back to ask. I was offered a new bag for free as there were quite a bit of issues with it, but one of the other gents said “this vintage bag is one of the best there is and our repair guy would love to fix it up!” So it’s out being fixed up and I can’t wait to put another 10k miles on it! Thanks for doing your part to help the environment and making products that last a lifetime (and look super cool too!)!
Fantastic store. Brought my down jacket in for a patch. They put it on for free and gave me two extra for future accidents. I was in and out in less than three minutes.
Staff is super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Really great shopping experience. Keep up the good work
Liked the old location better
Drove two hours just to be told they are open by appointment only. Maybe update your Google.
Really not stoked about surprise early closing—drove an hr into Portland to get some last minute trip supplies. Arrived at 6:02. They closed early at 6:00. No communication through social media or even website that they’d be closing early. Really not happy about this, gotta communicate better either through the website or social media.Oh yeah and the old location was so much more accessible and nicer.
I had a return on ski pants that I wasnt happy with. The staff was so nice and helpful from the lady that greeted me at the door to Zach who helped me find a replacement pant. They replaced my pants with a more durable product at no cost to me. This might have been best customer experience I have had. I know they gained my loyalty with how easy it was to return pants. Highly recommended this location and Patagonia products.
The assortment of options they had at this store was fabulous. I did end up getting a quarter zip sweatshirt and I am very content with the quality. We didnt have anyone check in on us while we were shopping. They almost acted as though we were just kids that were window shopping.
Whats not to love about Patagonia. Bought the grandkids some waterproof windbreakers. You can get something for everyone here. Warm weather jackets included. So CAL
I liked their old (roomier) place better. This is in the trendier but WAY more crowded part of town. Parking is nuts, and avoiding the ubiquitous bikers and foot traffic requires drugs or much diligence. I took my mom in there to shop, and she requires a wheelchair, and people were nice but trying to go around, as the wheelchair took up the entire aisle walking space!! The older place off of Hoyt had MUCH more room, and had a much more relaxed atmosphere.
Love this store. Amazing options for clothing and a friendly staff willing to already send a hand. They do free yoga here once a week also and its a great spot for it with great instructors
A nice, bright, new retail store across Burnside from Powells, selling clothing from the outdoor industrys most venerated brand. I bought a new hat, and talked to the helpful staff about down jackets. They were all of the high quality and high price that Patagonia is famous for.
Love this store! So location of the store is fantastic in Portland across from Portland most famous bookstore. I found the employees to be friendly very knowledgeable an extremely patient with me as I explored the Patagonia brand that I love!
I dropped my shoes off here to get resoled as part of the “iron clad” program and it was so easy and convenient. I just got my shoes back in the mail and they look amazing! Between that and standing up for our national parks, I love the work you all do so much. You all have me as a life time customer. Thank you!Side note: I’m sure you had a good reason but I was so sad to find out you don’t make shoes anymore! Hint hint 😅
Terrible, unprofessional stuff of kids with zero merit knowledge about the products they are selling. Ask them anything that is not on the label and they get aggressive to their customer! WTF first time ever I met such a unprofessional stuff - especially one kid who tried to cover his ignorance with huge lack of respect for a customer.
Amazing! I dont live in portland but if I did I would be in this store everyday! The staff was one of the nicest staffed stores I have ever been to and they know everything about all of their products. The store was beyond clean and organized! They had an awesome selection of clothing, provisions and even worn wear supplies. The manager is awesome and very helpful she knows what she is doing!
A great place to find what your looking for... and knowing that the products that you find are environmentally friendly... super high quality.... made with love....
Very helpful staff who represent the Patagonia brand very well. Staff follow all Patagonia policies regarding garment warranties and returns and are very helpful.
Had a fantastic experience at this store with the folks manning it in the morning on 4/5/2019. Brought in a fairly new nano puff that needed some stitching reworked, and a 4+ year old backpack that I had lost the chest straps for. Got the buckles replaced, and had three employees who happily took turns working on it to try and get it back to the best condition that was feasible (I failed to get their names, but hopefully they can be identified by the day of this review and its contents. It was a gal and two guys). All this was free and backed by Patagonias Ironclad guarantee. I felt that the employees that I had the pleasure of interacting today embodied Patagonias mission, and just seemed like genuinely great people overall. Thank you to those folks who helped me out!
I had two items that needed fixing that I brought here. The person I spoke to was knowledgeable about the common issues with the items I brought and friendly. The replaced one that their policy wouldnt let them repair and they sent the other one out for repair. I got the item returned and repaired just how I requested it less than 3 weeks later.I also dropped an item off for repair at arcteryx in PDX the same day and it hasnt even been processed at arcteryxs warranty center yet.Patagonia has the best warranty and customer service surrounding it in the industry hands down.
The staff went above and beyond to help me *and* with a super joyful attitude. Patagonia is a wonderful company that makes great products. I do wish they carried more in this store, but nonetheless, I’m very happy.
Very good service, friendly and very helpful staff!!!
Nothing impressive about their store and I felt the selection was fairly limited to seasonal items. Was tricky to tell what items were on sale vs. normal price. Staff was friendly.
Purchased clothing and found that it was defective. Emailed Patagonia but have not received anything more than a case number (RE: Thanks for writing Patagonia [ ref:_00DG0l01y._5001L1WZsSZ:ref ] ) emailing with months going by but crickets... I expected better (or any) customer service. That will be the last Patagonia item I purchase.
First of all Patagonia is a wonderful business that you should support. They have strong ideals and make great clothing and gear. The Portland store is full of wonderful people and if you need any outdoor clothing this is the place.
Amazing store layed out nicely. Matt helped us out and was extremely friendly, helpful and kind. Highly recommend this location over online the staff was super helpful and really knowledgeable.
Waaaay overpriced for garbage clothing...shop elsewhere for cheaper and better product
I love the brand and what it stands for and I believe Patagonia has some of the best produect on market. But I wish staff politely reject my return than doing me a favor passive aggressively. One other staff is much nicer but the damage has done. After all, I think I will never come to store again.
This was the first Patagonia store Ive been in and I was very impressed. They had a wide selection of jackets, pants, shirts, etc. I wish they had some more Portland themed merchandise though. The staff were all very helpful.
After multiple visits to the new location, I feel comfortable making the statement that I miss the old (much bigger) store and sales staff. The staff at the new location is not friendly and seems inconvenienced by doing their job. Ill stick to online shopping for future Patagonia purchases.
This is a very nice store with all the new product line ups. You can get newly released ones in all colors/sizes easily compared to REI or outlet malls, this store has nice decor and lighting as well.
Great store with friendly staff. Not that big of a store and their products are limited compared to what they sell online. I would of liked to see a sale section.
Jammi (or maybe Jamey) with the septum piercing is the absolute best human. She really helped me out and she deserves a promotion. Patagonia has my forever allegiance and I will only be buying outerwear from them from now on. Seriously the nicest best human. Also the store looks really cool inside and theyre super environmentally friendly!
A beautiful and big store that offered a lot of choices. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not many Patagonia stores offer worn wear at great discounts, but this is one of them.
Great company and this is possibly the best of the companys stores. Locally involved (loads of events, free yoga, etc.) and some of the nicest AND most knowledgeable employees Ive ran into in a retail business. Actually, the whole building is very cool and worth a visit in its own right!
I have only been to this store once, but I absolutely love it! The staff was really helpful and exchanged a jacket for me NO QUESTIONS ASKED! How can you beat that customer service? You cant :) Patagonia customer for life!
I dont normally spend this much on clothes, but I needed a new shirt for a promotion and was greeted by a whole hosts of employees that were eager to help me find what I needed. Its an outdoor clothing store, but read what I said, I got a shirt for work, unexpectedly happy with it too. They also have a selection of backpacks and other gear, as well as a small area for trail food. My only disappointment was finding that my shirt was made in China
They are awesome! Smart staffs with complete collection. Very helpful and great customer service. Patagonia is a expensive brand but it worths with all quality and services that they provide.
I love Patagonias ethics. Nice store. It was sale time so it was crowded. Lots of help available.. Process are higher than youd expect ($35+ for a hat. Seriously?) But they support living wages at their factories. Overall a good experience
Life long products from a great company! Street parking hard to come by but there is a cheap lot around the corner.
Workers are nice! Good selection. Cant go wrong with the brands ethics and how they treat the earth.
Love the local community vibe and local events they put on!
Outstanding service! Anyone who says otherwise is a grump. (IM LOOKING AT YOU MARK FROM 2 YEARS AG0! Sorry their retail store has fun and yours doesnt) But ya, highly recommend!
This one is okay, I would expect more from a store in such a prime location. I was able to find a pullover here once, but the local REI is much more robust (only a few blocks away).
Great store. But the staff was really not very helpful. I was wearing Patagonia that I bought a week ago at that store and they had no idea what the item was or if I could get another one.
Love Patagonia clothes. The selection of sizes is often depleted
Great staff and good selection. Would give five stars, but there are some larger stores with a larger inventory in other cities.
Used to shop here when I lived in Portland. I would totally do it again
Super friendly and helpful stuffs in the store!Carries a lot of items with great quality with sustainable material with their products!
Love this location .friendly staff,I love pantagonia!
Totally worth the cost. I will always pay more for Patagonia because they have high quality gear and take care of their customers. Customer service is phenomenal
Pretty disappointing store. They don’t have the entire range available online in store and lots of the colours are stocked out without anyone stocking them regularly. The staff aren’t at all helpful or friendly. There were a handful of staff in the store but they were busy socialising with each other instead of maintaining the store. Even with no sales tax, it’s hard to buy anything here given how bad the service or lackthereof is in this store, unfortunately.
I have been eying a specific type of jacket for a while now and I was upset when they didnt have the size I wanted. When I talked to an online help specialist about it, she told me it would be unlikely there would be more coming in stock because it was a special edition jacket. A few days later I checked back on the website to see if it was in stock thinking someone might have returned it. Turns out there it was in the exact size I was looking for! I tried adding it to my cart but it wouldnt add because they were updating their website for the sale tomorrow. So I started another online chat, and she told me it was in stock in Portland, OR! I called this store and this VERY NICE, HELPFUL, and PATIENT guy named Rider helped me! He gave me the 30% off sale discount even though its not until tomorrow and he gave me a memory I will never forget. When I called back a second time, another guy picked up and I asked to speak with Rider. My point is, both of these gentlemen were very pleasing to me and I have never experienced such great customer service. Thank you.
Great clothes, helpful staff and a beutiful store made shopping here a breeze. Got what we needed and a few things we didnt. Will visit again for sure.
Alright mark credit its companys like Patagonia that lead the way in keeping employees happy and working hard to create and test the best products. If you want your retail store to be open at your convenience all the time then try shopping at Walmart. Loom at how happy their employees are.
Great service and stock, and even the things they didnt have they sent me 2-day shipping for free.
Great products, amazing how they stand behind their products, an exceptional company ethos. Staff is happy to help you when you ask.
Everything is full price so wait until theres a sale. It is nice there is a Patagonia store so people can try on stuff and see it in person before buying. Go when they have a half yearly sale.
Great location. Green building. Wide open shopping space so I never feel crowded. Staff very attentive.
Nice store for displaying Patagonia items but selections seems limited compare to other stores.
Always superlative customer service whenever Ive come to have things repaired/replaced!
Great store. Great service.
Gorgeous store that honors the local history and culture, quality goods, knowledgeable staff, ethical company. I highly recommend it.
Always worth a visit, one of my favourite outdoor brands
This review is about the lack of customer service; not the clothing items! Went into the store to return a couple of recent online purchases made within the past 2 weeks. Items in pristine condition with tags attached and shipping receipts presented to the sales clerk. She told us she could NOT process a return in the store; even though the return policy on the exact shipping receipts presented to her said otherwise! To make a return find a store near you, where you can return any items for free. The sales clerk told us she would send it back for us but that she could NOT process the return at the store. I contacted Customer Service today who reported that they should indeed have been able to process the return yesterday in the store. Instead of walking out of the store with a receipt for a Visa Refund; we are still waiting for a tracking/confirmation email 32 hours after visiting the store for a simple return. Shame on you PDX Patagonia for not honoring your own return policy.
Nice store with a lot of sales and no sales tax.
The service here is amazing. I took my jacket in to be repaired and even though it was quite busy (I should have gone during the week, but the rip in my jacket was really bugging me) they took me to the repair booth and put some nice tape on the rip. When left I realized that there was still a little hole in it, so went back in. He fixed that with a piece of tape too. This is the true expression of the dirtbag lifestyle. A taped up jacket instead of buying a new one. My tape is a bit of a badge for me now. Eventually my whole jacket will be one big piece of tape!
They have a lot of cool stuff here. The store is pretty busy but there are more than enough employees to help you out with little wait.
Patagonia outlet jacket had accelerated cosmetic wear due to design flaw. Offered me a replacement (first quality) with a smile. They are more than generous with exchanges and other issues
This might be the most disorganized retail store Ive been in...its like wandering around lost in an expensive swamp.Staff is non-existent.On the day we visited (mid august, back to school time) there was no stock at all for kids kindergarten size.Not. Good.
Really good stuff and the floors sales people are great ! (-:
Always a pleasure to do shopping the store. helpful associates. parking could be tricky around the place..
