Ok so normally I don’t write reviews on a sneaker store but this wasn’t a ordinary sneaker store this was an amazing experience. My associate Cody 10/10 amazing amazing amazing. Help me from step 1 all the way to finding the perfect pair of sneakers for my shin splints and running needs. I’m visiting from New York and Cody made the experience at this location phenomenal. If I could give him a raise I would.

The shoe salesman/fitter was great. He brought me just what I asked for quickly. When I also asked about ways to be visible at night, he showed me two great options. He also pointed out that I had rewards cash to apply to the purchase and that saved me a lot of money. Excellent experience.

Took my 12 year old son to get running shoes as we’ve had difficulty in finding him shoes that fit right. He came away with shoes he says are the most comfortable and a fit made even better with custom inserts. Those inserts we used in his baseball cleats and he says made even his cleats feel better. Fantastic experience

I had a great experience here. I went in January of this year and got insoles created for my feet and then got running shoes. The sales associate was very knowledgeable and helpful and it did not feel like a “sales pitch.” My running experience has changed considerably since then. Most recently I went back today and was able to get trail running shoes, and, because I had been earlier and made an account, they were able to use that info to help me get the right shoe for my feet. 10/10 would recommend.

Great place for my feet. I would not have known there are so many things to care about my feet. After getting a running shoe both i and my wife we feel so comfortable. We came back for a spare shoe as we do not feel comfortable with any other shoe. Loved the experience.

Very glad I bought my new running shoes at Road Runner Sports. They filmed me walking on the treadmill, made a 3-D rendering of my foot and produced a custom insole that I tried in several different shoes. The pair the gentleman recommended are great. Super comfortable and supportive. And I fit it all into my lunch break. I’ll definitely be back to Road Runner. They have great shoes and excellent service.

Was out running nowhere near home, practicing for the Portland Marathon and didnt apply enough Body Glide. Stopped in and tried to purchase a stick to take with me but Nick [sp?] comped it for me because ... I dunno, maybe I looked really desperate? 🤣 anyway, excellent customer service!

Road Runner was about the only running store in the Portland area that had a bunch of supplies. Their store person was great and helpful, and provided really good input regarding product. 👍

In this time of online shopping and depleted sales staff, it is refreshing to find courteous, friendly, and competent customer service. Shout out to Liz for her help and expertise.They actually run tests, including video of you running in a tread mill, and scanning the bottom of your feet, to determine what kind of shoes you should buy.The experience was painless and efficient, and the shoes and inserts purchased are still feeling great. I would highly recommend this store.

The service here is very good. An associate has you do a couple tests to find out what type of shoe works best for your feet and lifestyle, and the employee who helped me was able to match me up with a wonderful pair of shoes!

Excellent service and selection. Casey was great. We did a gait analysis and I purchased custom insoles and a pair of Brooks Ghost 14 shoes. I have been having foot problems after breaking my toe a few times, and an old ankle injury causing peroneal tendinosis, so properly fitted footwear is crucial. I love the VIP program, too. Thank you so much!

I have VIP membership at Roadrunner sports. I am always pleased with service here. The employees are always very helpful and kind. I’ve never been disappointed with the product or service.

I got a really thorough fitting, complete with a gait analysis and a scan of my feet. We determined the shoes I had been wearing weren’t the right type for me, and I left with a new pair. So far they feel great! Friendly salespeople, great service!

Emmy was a huge help to me yesterday. She brought all the shoes out I wanted to try on. She knew all the information I needed to know about purchasing shoes. I ended up buying two pair of shoes. Liz was great! Worked very well with myKnow-it-all 14 y/o son. Very patient. Not sure about prices, but, we had specific needs, and were very impressed with the process flow and knowledge/training there.

One and done shopping experience... When they try to sell you the VIP Membership keep in mind thats the ONLY way you can return used shoes (which wasnt communicated to me). Ive been a runner forever but have been pretty loyal to Nike. After a few friends recommended Hokas I wanted to try a pair but was hesitant about switching. I ended up buying them but on my first run (6 miles) my feet were killing me at mile 3, so I went to return them and I was told since I wore them once, they couldnt be returned because I wasnt a VIP member. No store credit, literally nothing other than, Sorry we didnt communicate that better but now youre stuck with a $130 pair of shoes that hurt your feet. One and done shopping experience, lesson learned to just stick with Nike; you can return shoes if they dont work and they dont push weird VIP memberships on you. Two stars instead of one because the girl who helped with the attempted return was super sweet and clearly felt terrible for me.

Road Runner is the best place to get new shoes and running gear. You can try in everything, which is great. And their return policy is amazing. The staff is helpful and gives suggestions and recommendations. Membership awards are a bonus! Highly recommend Road Runner sports!

I haven’t bought running shoes in some time and when i did i was such a newbie i didn’t know what to look for. When i walked into road runner, i was immediately greeted and helped! The young woman who helped me was super attentive and helpful to my concerns. Also their store is definitely set up to accommodate the current covid climate, everything was spread apart and clean. I will definitely be going back for more running goods.

Just came back home from purchasing a couple new running shoes. I settled on Brooks Ghost 13 GTX aka Gore-Tex waterproofing cover mesh, so my request was already specific. Ive read from previous reviews that John was great. I wholeheartedly confirm! He was very knowledgeable, upbeat, and did a phenomenal job being an expert and a salesman. He made the process easy, swift, and actually fun, with all the new 3D foot imaging scans and so on and then uploading the results and the custom in-soles up to the cloud and account for later use. Im going to take my brother to the Tualatin address and get him new running shoes as well. Also for my Dad some hiking shoes perhaps. Overall, I had an incredible time today at Road Runner Sports. Only negative was a glitch in the system that didnt let the online order through and the call line was unresponsive, butboth of those issues are company issues not Johns fault at all. He did an awesome job! Cant recommend him enough, for the experience alone but also the professionalism and the fun banter! Cheers! Youve earned yourself a VIP regular in the year to come! Ended up also getting the Saucony a because they were great and felt great and I just needed something until my real prize the Brooks Ghost 13 GTX would come in via online order.

Came in for a shoe recommendation. While I stayed with my tried and true Brooks, the person that helped me was very thorough and had me try on others just to be sure. I also got fitted for inserts and the whole process was smooth and I felt taken care of. Thank you!

Fantastic customer service. It made a world of difference having my foot scanned, getting inserts that work with my foot, and being fitted to the right shoe. I dont recommend anybody just go shopping on their own to just a regular store and buy shoes without understanding the uniqueness of your own feet. My knee pain, my foot pain and my back pain have all been alleviated by having the inserts and the correct shoe. I cannot recommend them highly enough!!

My fiancé and I went here to pick up some new running shoes for me and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the service. Liz, the associate helping us, greeted us at the door and went right into asking us about our activities, and what we were looking for. From begging to end, Liz provided excellent service for us and we ended up leaving with shoes for myself and fiancé. We highly recommend this place for new time runners/walkers or long time experts looking for a particular shoe. You won’t be disappointed.

Total scam artists. Went in to buy a Hokas and employee told me I could wear and return them, but her superior kept trying to sell me super hard on a VIP membership which I didnt want. Wore the shoes once and went in to return them and was told by the same superior that since they were worn I couldnt return them (even though her employee told me otherwise) and told me the only thing I could do was to buy a VIP membership and exchange them for a different size. She conveniently chose not to tell me that once I bought the membership, I could return shoes for a full refund. Just trying to manipulate me to make a sale. I suggest Nike, Foot Traffic, PRC, Fleet Feet, or any other legitimate running store.

Very knowledgeable, friendly staff. Thoroughly analyzed feet, stride and exercise goals before recommending shoes, and were able to break down the differences between the brands and shoes within the brands.

Phenomenal staff and selection of off trail and running shoes. Liz is super knowledgeable and the technology they use is incredibly useful and helping decidie your fit and shoe type.

I recently went to this store to buy some walking shoes from their 24/7 series. The shopkeeper Chris(at store 119) was very helpful and patient as I tried on 8 pairs of shoes. I usually come here for my jogging shoes every 6 months though this visit was one with the intent to get some better shoes for walking long distances as my Vans and Chucks were wrecking my ankles. Wear those to shows and short distance only I reckon. Chris got me set up with 3 pairs of walking shoes and some new compression style socks that Im finding to be helpful with my ankle issues. The roller and back cane thing are also helping. I appreciated the time and attention he put into my shopping experience. This location has earned my loyalty for jogging and now walking shoes. The VIP membership is further justified by this higher level of customer service aside from the savings. Highly reccomend this shop!

I was extremely overdue in replacing my old Brooks shoes and when I walked in a week & a half ago, I knew exactly what I wanted. Fit Expert Liz helped me and it felt like VIP service the whole time. I got on the treadmill to see if I over pronate or under pronate, got fitted for new orthotics, and left also with a new pair of Brooks and comfy socks. Thank you for making my feet happy again!

I love this place. They always provide great service, and the VIP membership really does save you $$. The custom insoles make a huge difference too. The shoes and insoles I get with them always end up being the most comfortable running shoes. They also offer 3d foot mapping, and gait analysis! Cant rave enough about their running stores, and staff.

Ive been here many times. Each time I felt like the place was understaffed and the staff didnt particularly seem that interested in helping me, outside of trying to fit and sell me a insole. It always makes me wonder do they get a commission on them or are they pressured to sell them?

Fantastic experience with Adriane. She utilized their in-store equipment to take a 3-D measurement of my foot including width and arch and recorded my gait. She showed me all the information she collected and explained it clearly. Throughout our discussion she listened to my concerns and what I was looking for, and then she walked me through the styles that provided my size, briefly detailing differences between styles. Adriane answered all my questions and was so patient and clearly knowledgeable and not pushy whatsoever. Excellent service and I will be back.

Bought a pair of shoes and insoles here. The process was relatively smooth. They analyzed my feet, shaped my insoles, and brought out 4 pairs of shoes for me. That part was fine.However, when I went to pay they kept pushing me to get a membership. I said no, not today. The store manager and the other employee then tried to explain why me getting a membership would be beneficial very aggressively. Again, I said not today.Then they were passive aggressive with me. Didn’t say a word to me after, and passively aggressively said to have a nice day. Not sure what the big deal is here, if I don’t want a membership then stop forcing it down my throat.

Had a great experience trying on new road shoes today at the store on 23rd. Tried on multiple pairs and found a few that I really liked. Cesar took the time to go over what I was looking for in a shoe and my issues with my current pair. Also had some fun trying on some trail shoes that Ive been eyeing! Great service!

This place is so great! Lucy, the owner is amazing. She is very passionate about what she does and cares about her community and business. The store has a great selection of gear, whatever you are looking for, they have it! The variety of brands is also great. Socks, hats, shirts, shorts, shoes, watches... Everything. They also take the time to make sure that you have the best gear for the type of running you are into. It is awesome to have professionals watch you run on a treadmill and give their suggestions and provide their expertise as to what shoe would be best for your needs. I very highly recommend going to Road Runner for anything and everything you are looking for related to running.

Liz was Amazing. From start to finish. She called it too! I came in for measurements and ASICS and she told me I would probably like Brooks and she was absolutely right. We went to store 119 in Portland and everyone was super attentive and ready to answer all of our questions. Nicu helped us and was really professional and nice. Will definitely come back!

I was asked if I wanted to join the VIP family program and said no, but the employee STILL charged me after I said no multiple times. Until I got an email this morning, I had no idea he signed me up. The customer service membership was very helpful in canceling and resolving this issue. But a very dishonest employee is why I won’t shop there again.

My feet have been hurting when I go hiking I came here and found the perfect shoes for hiking, I can now last longer and im pain free because I have the proper shoes.

For anyone looking for the best shoe for them, this is the place to go. They will work extensively with you, on a treadmill, on a platform, watching your form and more before custom fitting insoles. Great selection of shoes. My husband swears by his insoles and Brooks Ghost 10s. When family was visiting from Indiana, we took them there and they were blown away by the experience and customer service. Awesome place, awesome people.

The VIP program is a total rip-off. Dont do it! The savings are negligible and even when you try to discontinue auto renewal, RR still charges your credit card. I canceled my VIP membership after realizing it wasnt worth it. In July 2018 I was charged a renewal. I called to have the charge reversed from my credit card. Even though I have not set foot in a RR store or purchased anything online for over a year, they still pro-rated by annual VIP unauthorized credit card charge refund. In essence, they stole $2.50 from me. They had no right to charge the renewal in the first place. This is not the amount of money, but the principle. RR is a giant corporation, and is not your friend. Dont get sucked in. Multiple $2.50, or more, by the thousands of defrauded customers (VIPs - hah!) and their profit is healthy. Watch your credit card statements!

I work on my feet all day and i have high arches. After many days of extreme pain I finally started to try different brands of insoles with no luck. I recently purchased the custom soles and recommended shoe type by Road Runner Sports and... the pain is gone. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Service was excellent. Thanks Cesar.Note to the manager... I understand that pushing sales of certain items such as socks is required by employees but please dont. If i wanted to pay $30 for socks id ask for them.

Ive been a long time Road Runner customer. I came into the store to buy a specific pair of running shoes and left without buying them because the staff was so concerned about trying to sell me something else. It was like being at a used car dealership. I ordered the shoes online from another retailer for 1/2 the price on my way home. Going to miss being a Road Runner Sports customer, but the new management here had definitely set a new culture that doesnt work for me.

Staff member was enthusiastic to have me try out their special insole but became less enthusiastic when I said I didnt want it. I arrived an hour before closing time and it became increasingly apparent that the staff were more interested in quickly making a sale and finishing for the night than actually helping me find the best pair of running shoes. I ended up leaving without purchasing any shoes. A very disappointing experience.

Great store, remember to get on the treadmill at the store to see how they really feel. The new Adidas shoes were a pleasant surprise for me, I wouldn’t know it without the great customer service, see which shoes are best for you, great store to test run the shoes.

I wish I could give less than one star. The service we received was horrible. When we asked the difference between two products the sales associate said one has more features and one is cheaper. Not exactly the most helpful. The item also had a sale sticker on it from Garmin but they stated the sale price, which was $50 less, was only available for VIP people. Horrible service and horrible business. Picked up what I needed from Amazon for the sale price. Avoid this place at all cost.

Worst experience at a shoe store. Came in for a pair of trail runners, they had none. There were two employees out on the floor. One dissapeared into the back as soon as i walked in, the other was an older lady. She followed me around way to close. Assuming she was just trying to be silently helpful I asked her if they had a specific pair of trail runners I saw online and showed her the picture. She replied Uh..... NO! You might want to try a different shoe store. BYE. It was the biggest valley girl attitude Ive ever seen come out of a middle aged women!

I went in looking for a specific pair of shoes and they tried to diagnose my feet and recommend everything else. When I said I already knew what I wanted the sales associate stomped off and acted as though I was just a nuisance. I will never shop there again and will be canceling the membership I have with them.

Shopping here is worse than shopping at a cheap jewelry store in a mall. As soon as you walk in the door, the sales staff will try to get you fitted for shoes. No matter what you tell them (you already know your size, you know which shoe you want, you just want to browse, you dont want to buy their over-priced insoles, etc) and how polite you are about it, they will act as if you didnt say anything and become very offended. I will never go back and advise you to stay away!!

Very friendly safe and a cool little running shop. Parking is a TOTAL nightmare, but thats not the stores fault.

I am a former Shift Lead at this location. I feel its my responsibility to let local runners know what theyre walking into when they come to RRS. None of the staff members besides Jane are runners. If you ask for the best running spots be prepared to hear, Forest Park or Wildwood Trail. During my time here, I was constantly told to push and upsell products even if a customer wouldnt genuinely benefit from the products. I was also pushed to repeatedly try to get customers through a fit process which can be helpful, but time consuming for many people. The store is inadequately staffed, has an admittedly inexperienced store manager, and is run on a business model that clearly values profit over customer service. I am sorry that I ended up taking this job, as it was the most miserable and stressful job Ive ever had. I would recommend going to Portland Running Co. for personable, knowledgeable, and genuine customer service.

I want to the Pearl district store in Portland. The first time I went I was not offered the Shoe Dog fitting, and I ended up returning the shoes I bought. Fortunately I paid the extra for the option to try the shoes for up to 90 days and was able to exchange them. Definitely worth it! When I did, Tyler took the time to take me thru the fitting process and help me pick out a great set of shoes. I was happy to take the upgrade to the molded footbeds he made for me, and the shoes have been terrific. Recap of visit: 1) Cheerfully greeted, even though I was clearly carrying a return, 2) Reason for return was agreed and affirmed, 3) Handed off to shoe fitter who was introduced by name, 4) Quick, efficient fitting process including suggested add-ons for footbeds and socks, 5) Expert determination on choosing a stability shoe over a neutral shoe, plus cushion level 4, 6)Tried on 5 pairs of shoes in a logical comparison process that Tyler suggested, 7) Walked out with a great pair of shoes and footbeds that I was convinced are exactly right for me. 5 star service the second time around.

Nice store, good selection, friendly staff with one downside: they shove membership in your face. Everything is discounted for members, which is great if you want to be one but annoying for anyone that isnt committed enough to the chain to shell out that kind of dough.
