Firstly, the staff is very considerate, goes above and beyond during the pandemic to follow all state/CDC guidelines to protect their customers. I cannot rant about how much I am enamored with their use of Moroccan spices. From the first sip of their dirty chai, I was HOOKED. When you walk into the café you are greeted with smiles, the relaxing ambience and kindness from staff has me coming back time and time again. This has become a destination location for my coworkers and I, 100000/10 recommend
Great family owned local spot. Ive spent a few weekends in here and the family is awesome . they are loving and will always take care of you. priced right and a change from all the Starbucks out there .
Super cool place to hang out, excellent selection! Staff there are great! Besides their coffee, you should try their Mint Teas!
I thought I loved coffee before. But then I tried the pistachio latte and it sparked a while new coffee addict in me
Amazing Morracon coffee with the expexted full range of alternative milks, and they have hot and cold beverages.Got an iced morracon chai latte with pumpkin and the morracon pistachio latte. Both were delicious and a great start to our day!
First the good - the biscuits on the breakfast sandwiches were amazing, we were all raving about them. The staff were courteous and friendly and the place was clean. The prices were fair. The disappointing - the coffee and tea were not great. Out of excitement I ordered both the Moroccan coffee and the mint tea. Both of these are items I make at home and have had millions of times in Morocco. I was excited to actually have some in the states that I hadnt made myself. The tea was weak and not properly sweetened. Its not a hard tea to make - gunpowder green, copious amounts of fresh mint and a ton of sugar. You cant really go wrong. Somehow they went wrong. The spiced coffee wasnt spiced enough and the coffee itself wasnt flavorful. It should be ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and cloves (at least how I make it, other people have other variations) and it should be easy to taste them. I think maybe they threw a little cinnamon in there but it was just a hint. A bit like a weak pumpkin spice coffee from Starbucks. We were in town for three days and had planned to go there every day but didnt bother going back at all.
This is by far my favorite Cafe in the entirety of Portland, Oregon. Everything is super affordable, the hot chocolate pictured Bellow was $2.75 and croissants ran at around $1.50 I think. For my hot chocolate, they had a lot of different types of whipped cream; espresso, chocolate, caramel, and more! The cups are huge and its a lovely atmosphere. The food tastes amazing and I will definitely be coming here again.
I tried the red velvet coffee. And yeah, Im ready for another visit.
Excellent hot food, excellent pastries, excellent coffee. Fast service, clean, friendly. What else is there in a coffee shop?
Had the pistachio latte. It could use a tpuch more sweetener but good flavor. No seating yet.
The girls behind the counter were super sweet, service was quick, and the drinks were tasty! Ive never had a latte with hemp milk before this place and its wonderful. So creamy!
Their pistachio latte is SO good. All of the pastries are delicious and the service is always top notch. The other great thing about this place is that the chairs are actually really comfortable so it’s a great place to hang out for a while. Only downside is that most parking in the area is pay to park
The best staff - amazing coffee and always clean and fast! 10/10 in my book!
Ive been wanting to try this place for a few years and finally had a chance. Their Moroccan mint tea is on point. Many people and even Moroccans claim they can make mint tea, but very few get it right. The place is clean and staff are so friendly. It has a nice modern urban ambience. Their verbena tea/chai was a really good experience. The verbena propitiates your taste buds while the silky milk questions your existence. Their extra pistachio latte was really nice for those that love coffee and pistachio. Pistachio was strong enough to taste it over the coffee but light enough not to be over powering. Finally, if you love scones their fresh baked scone selection is massive. Will definitely going their again the next time I travel to Portland
Great small coffee shop in the Pearl District near the Residence Inn we stayed at. Next to a lovely park, you have a good view either inside or out. We stopped in for hot chocolate two days in a row and I was most excited about the many flavored whipped creams! Had marshmallow the first day and espresso the next. Tasty! Staff was nice and the cheese brioche was so good! I don’t want a regular Danish or cheese croissant ever again!
Awesome food The breakfast biscuits are super good and don’t miss the scones!
Love this place. Employees are extremely friendly, great atmosphere and service is fast. Highly recommend the Moroccan coffees.
Best Scones in PDX! No question! The pistachio latte is also a personal fav. This small family owned coffee shop was a go-to when we lived in the neighborhood and we still swing by regularly even though we live about 20 minutes away now.
Situated right by a park! Great scones, lovely teas and good coffee. 😊 The workers are very nice and patient especially for first timers in their shop. Make sure to try their Pistachio Latte and the mint tea, enjoy with a fruit scone!
The food here is excellent. I had the turkey sausage biscuit. It was very nice not too greasy. The location is in the middle of Yuppie Central, but dont let that distract you from the quality drinks and food you can get here. I personally found the pistachio latte very flavorful.
Some of the best coffee in the Pearl.
This place has really nice views of a park across the street, friendly service, and good prices. I had a pot of sweet mint tea, and it was amazing. While I was there, several people came in who seemed to know the owner. Its always nice when a business has local connections and draws repeat customers!I will definitely be back to enjoy some more tea and try out some of the delicious-looking items on the food menu.
Suoer friendly and helpful staff and great coffee/tea!
This coffee is delicious, the baristas are so friendly, and the location is great! I absolutely recommend the pistachio latte for anyone looking for a new sweet treat! You wont be disappointed!
I love this place. The Moroccan spice is amazing. They have great sandwiches. The location is near the best park in the Pearl district. Take your dog with you, stop to get a beverage and walk your dog in the park nearby.
No thanks. Overpriced and mediocre coffee. The croissants were decent, but nothing to write home about. They probably would have been better warmed up, but apparently they shut down their toaster oven at 1:00, four hours before they close. Nestled right in the heart of yuppie town, perhaps this kind of subpar experience resonates with them?
My boyfriend and I are visiting from Salt Lake City and read about Ovation online, so we decided to try it. And WOW. This shop is truly outstanding. I didnt catch the name of the girl who took our order, but in case shes reading this, she was a brunette young lady (maybe 5 3) with a ribbed long sleeve shirt, and a black apron. Anyway, she was SO friendly and offered some suggestions since wed never been there. She was bubbly and it felt like she genuinely cared about us and the shop. THEN, we got our drinks. Which were just magical. Both of them were so delicious and the flavors were so well balanced. This is hands down the most awesome coffee experience I have ever had in my 26 years of life. Thank you. (Id give them a standing Ovation if I could, but that might be a little cheesy).P.S. GET THE ESPRESSO WHIPPED CREAM
Best coffee drinks with Moroccan spicy flavors. When Covid restrictions ate lifted, my go to place for mint tea served in a beautiful pot.
The chai was amazing and the family that owns Ovation is incredibly friendly! Will definitely be returning!
Service is excellent. Steady amount of customers. Coffee tends to be chocolatey. A number of sweeter options here.
Amazing spot!!! Such a PDX gem
We had the Red Velvet Latte, the Giraffe, and the hot chocolate. They were all excellent! The barista was a very nice man 🙂
Hands down our favorite neighborhood coffee shop!
My absolute FAVORITE coffee spot in Portland, for over 4 years. I crave the pistachio latte and mint tea all the time. Wonderful accommodating staff. Delicious scones and breakfast options. You cannot go wrong with Ovation!!
My favorite coffee shop in Portland! The staff and owner are amazing people. And their banana scones... delicious!! They make my day each time I go there.
Not only is this coffee some of my favorite in town, I also just think their staff is just the best. Everyone is super nice and the scones are incredible!
This place is the friggin best. Me and my friends came here 3 days in a row and would have come more if we had the opportunity. Everyone was super friendly and it felt like you were going to see old friends despite just having met them. They talked with us and answered questions about what things there are to do in the area, recommended their favorites to try. If there were 6 stars Id give them that. Moroccan biscuits and the Moroccan latte were my favorite, the mint tea was amazing as well. Great design on the inside and amazing staff. Please open one in LA!
Features Drips, Espressos, and Moroccan coffees and teas. Our Barista recommended the Moroccan Latte, smooth, rich, creamy hint of sweet spice. The GLT and Veggie Panini were both tasty and served quickly! Scenic Pearl District location.
My favorite spot for coffee, Red Velvet, Pistachio, White Giraffe... & pastries.Everyone is friendly and always remember me ..... love love love
This place is awesome! They are all really nice, they remember your order if you come in regularly and they are always smiling. Their scones are amazing and they even have milkshakes on the menu.
Ovation is one of my favorite spots in town. They have an excellent selection of drinks, baked goods, and treats. Their Moroccan style drinks are very unique, Id recommend those. Also try the Blended Zaza drinks! The family and staff here are also wonderful people and I enjoy stopping in simply to say hi to them!
Definitely a place to try in Portland!
I would highly recommend the Moroccan vanilla latte. The spices blend beautifully with the vanilla, and espresso. If you get the chance definitely try it out. The shop is wonderfully complicated by the Pearl district and definitely fits the vibe.
Good coffee
This coffee was an out standing experience the drinks my friend n I had were superb. The atmosphere was excellent. The bungee cord chairs were so comfortable you could sit there for several hours. I highly recommend you try this place
Set up for covid take out and doing a brisk business. Their dried honey and Moroccan spices make even standard coffee special.
Hands down the best coffee shop in the Pearl! This place is always well staffed with friendly baristas and amazing service. The menu offers tons of creative coffee and tea creations reflecting the owners Moroccan heritage and they do not dissapoint. True gem in the area!My favorites are the Vanilla latte, Pistachio and their Peach Fruit iced tea with mint, so refreshing! For food I love getting the Morrocan Biscuit (gyro meat with eggs and tomatoes on a biscuit) so good and filling. Their pasties are also freshly baked everyday and a great delight with your coffee. Also theyre conviently located right next to the Fields Park so grab a coffee, your friend, dog and check out this coffee shop. Its worth the hype!
Great group of people and excellent coffee. I recommend the Moroccan latte or pistachio latte.
Friendly servers, very clean and they serve Longbottom coffee great place in the Pearl
I am really surprised at how high the ratings are for this place... For being in downtown Portland their coffee is really not up to par. Super disappointed.
Wow!First the second I walked in the door I was greeting with kindness and excitement. I’m at son of the family business as well as the mother makes all of the pastries daily. I tried Macaroon pistachio latte, with a twist of blended macaroon spices. I was hesitant, but glad I tried something new. Absolutely divine! Sat outside to enjoy the beautiful cool, sunshine view.Nothing like this in Alabama or anywhere I’ve traveled thus far.
About a year and a half ago when I was brand new to Portland, I was wandering around and found this wonderful coffee/lunch spot. Havent been able to retrace my steps since.Today I was wandering again and stopped in and it is just as wonderful as I remember!!Both visits the staff have been supremely kind and helpful in my inability to decide what to order.Quick service with a smile, great place to meet with a friend or a coworker or just sit and people watch at the park right next door. The service and atmosphere alone would bring me back again, and to top it off their food & drinks are also delicious!
Love that place! If you come here you must get something with Moroccan spices. My favorite is pistachio latte with Moroccan spices
The pistachio latte here is the most amazing cup of coffee I have ever had in my life!!
These folks serve delicious drinks and food and they do it with style! Always friendly. Always fast. Helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. Oh, and they love dogs, too! Try them. Youll be back.
I can see why this place is has high review...its freaking amazing. We stop by here after brunch to grab some coffee and tea and totally glad we did. Its located right outside a park so you can enjoy the nice view as well as the dogs playing. We got the Moroccan coffee and the tea with sage in a small pot. First off, the small pot was $3.50...where do you see that kind of price?? Also, the tea was delicious. Plus, the people are super nice. The coffee was also delicious as you get a subtle hint of spice in the coffee and its Soo smooth. Overall, definitely a place to hit and try as you Moroccan tea is something uncommon that you dont typically see.
An awesome place to grab some really good Moroccan style coffee. If you havent tried it before I would highly recommend giving it a go. The breakfast sandwiches are also delicious! Great service and friendly staff in a beautiful location. We will be back on our next trip to Portland for sure.
Best coffee shop in Portland! Always great vibe. My go to is a pistachio latte with toasted marshmallow whipcream(which is made in house)And also the Moroccan biscuit sandwich. Amazing!
I love Ovation. I usually get my latte fix once a week. And always coupled with one of their delicious scones!! The staff are super nice and it’s always such a pleasure to go there and get my caffeine fix. I’m slowly working my way though all the coffees on the menu and I will definitely be back.
The service is very helpful and friendly, and the coffee is fantastic. They have Moroccan style coffee and teas, along with a crazy awesome selection of flavored whip creams. I had the pistachio latte with almond milk and my friend had the mocha with lavender whip cream, and they were both smooth and just the right amount of sweet. Really disappointed that Im only passing through Portland and cant come again in a while.
Delicious drinks and friendly service whenever Ive stopped by.
Coffee is good, the got pretty much all the usual stuff to fulfill your (and my) addiction. But the main reason I like this place above others is the nice quiet park right next door. I grab my coffee and head there for a nice afternoon.
Best coffee shop in Portland. Amazing coffee, amazing pastries, best prices. Have I mentioned the people...great customer service. I go out of my way to hit them up in the am. Grab a great coffee and scone and sit in the park...perfect morning treat
As expected, everything was delicious. We had Italian coffee, espresso, London fog, Moroccan biscuit, veggie panini, and coconut scone. A must return cafe for sure! Looking forward to trying their Moroccan mint tea soon. The staff here is so nice. They do everything to make sure youre satisfied with your food and drink orders.
