A must stop if your in the mood for a cold desert. Right next to five guys so you can’t miss it. Best gelato I’ve had in a while. Two small bowls will set you back $11 but it’s ooh so worth it. Staff was very friendly and place very well kept. Is definitely visit again.

Gelato fiasco is the best. I got it for my wedding dessert, and every time we come back to Portland we stop by for some. Pro-fat-kid tip: get a bunch of small so you can try all kinds of flavors!! Mascarpone pistachio caramel was my favorite of the bunch here.

Came in on a Tuesday at around 9 pm to pick up a pint of ice cream. We opted for the create your own pint and you can pick as many flavors as you want to. However, they recommend three max because anything more than that will start getting mixed together. We did three (the Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp, and one of the cookie ones. I cant remember which because all the flavors ended up getting mushed together, even with three. Everything tasted like the Maine Blueberry, which was a bit too sweet for me. I would probably recommend just getting two flavors max.

Super tasty ice cream. The turtle cheesecake was my favorite of the flavors I’ve had. Netflix and chill was a close second. The truck at the eastern promenade was an awesome way to enjoy a sunset with ice cream.

Pro: Gelato was amazing. Seriously so good. Very silky and rich flavors. Totally worth the money.Con: I get working service jobs is hard but there’s really no reason to be so rude to customers. Pretty sure she said her name was Kelly. Management should have a talk with her about her attitude. Kind of ruined the excitement of going out to grab a treat.

The flavors are fantastic! I was brought here by a relative and I will probably be back tomorrow. Every flavor is absolutely perfect and although the cup sizes dont appear large they fit an exhuberant amount of gelato. I recommend coming when it is below freezing. So many different flavors! They use metal tasting spoons and offer on site recycling for your trash. Another plus is they offer coffee and or teas!

Love this place! My friends and I visited Maine from NYC for a long weekend and one of my other friends recommended this place. It did not disappoint let me tell you. They had such a huge assortment of gelato and the workers were very nice and let us sample a few. I don’t remember what the flavors were exactly but it was a Nutella flavored one, strawberry and I think cookies and cream. The strawberry one was my favorite. Very fruity and the texture was just melt in your mouth. We got a small but you can get as many flavors as you want in the cup. They really pack the gelato in the cup too.

Extremely good. I’ve never been to Italy but I imagine this place gives Italian gelato a run for its money, lol. Soooo good. Also, the guy who works the door is the best gelato salesman ever. He’s so nice.

Best Gelato in Maine hands down. They have a ton of creative flavors and they all taste amazing! They also have an awesome culture! You can try as many as you want and get as many flavors as you want even in the smallest size!

Covid - I got a tiny cup (which was piled high) & my husband got a medium waffle Cones that looked like an extra large. We had to order outside the door & eat it on the move because of Covid, but it was all good.

Went there tonight near closing time. Ordered a medium with 3 flavors. Mint chocolate chip was incredible. Sweet resurgam was amazing and tasted like a burnt almond torte with caramel and chocolate. But the blueberry crisp was disappointing - no blueberries or crisp. Just tasted like plain vanilla. Would certainly go back but avoid the blueberry crisp.

This is a really good place. Great selection of gelatos and really good tasting creamy and light gelato.I visited this place three times in three days for gealto and Coffee.A nice and honest staff. It has a small quaint place to sit inside and a pretty big patio.Its one of the best gelato I ever had.

Delicious.Great little joint for gelato and sorbetto. Reminds me of the real thing in Italy. There arent as many flavors as Id think, but its still all good! The berry stracciatella is fantastic, but branch out and try the blueberry cardamom (which strangely works well) or... well, anything else, since gelato in any flavor is pretty much heavenly.Its a bit pricey but you get enough in the medium cup to hit the spot. The staff are very friendly and encourage samples, plus they can actually explain whats in the gelato, so thats always cool. If you sit in to eat, the booklets at each table give you great insight into the companys history as well as how to make gelato yourself.

Delicious! The Pistachio mascarpone caramel and wild blueberry crisp were delightful. Also tried this other flavor...sweet resurgam, which I have not heard of before. But it’s from almonds and tasted slightly too salty.Right now customers aren’t allowed in store and they don’t take cash, which I think is great. They come out and take your order, bring it out to you and you just pay with your card outside. Nice and safe.

Fantastic! The service was super friendly and fun to be around, the gelato is excellent, and the price was reasonable. I A/B compared with Gorgeous Gelato across the street, and this was the clear winner.

A must visit! Delicious gelato, creative flavours like Netflix and Chill (peanut butter, brownies, chocolate) and the most wonderful staff who take COVID-19 so seriously. Everything is contactless from the ordering to payment. Staff keep 6 ft away. This is such a gem in downtown Portland.

I got their lavender honey flavor, tasted like how I would want soap to taste in the best way! Keep it up! Also really nice staff! :-)

Be sure to join the Red Spoon Society and and pop in during the winter for the Frozen Code (one percent off for each degree below freezing). If youre in the Brunswick area, be sure to stop by their Flagship Store.

Best gelato Ive ever eaten. Seriously bummed we live out of state because I will be dreaming about it until we can return. Highly recommend combining the mascarpone pistachio caramel and the dark chocolate sea salt caramel.

Just the absolute best place for desert downtown. There hasnt been a single time Ive been there when the staff wasnt outwardly friendly. They encourage you to try the gelato, and theres no limit on how many flavors you can have in your dish. We also like that they use stainless steel tasting spoons instead of disposable plastic. Their flavors are less traditional, but thats part of the fun, and there a lot them. Plus, the below-zero discount is a great idea. Keeps us visiting year-round.

Best gelato in Portland. At least 30 flavors. Kids love this place! Staff are friendly and efficient. Dont be concerned if there is a line. They will get you through in short order. I take my interns there all the time.

Delicious gelato! Mango was perfect - not too sweet, tastes like a delicious mango in gelato form. The strawberry balsamic was some of the best strawberry gelato weve had, refreshing rather than creamy. The strawberry with brownie and white chocolate chips is not quite the same, though :(Nocciola hazelnut is stellar!!! Toasted coconut has delicious flakes throughout and tastes like pure coconut. Friendly staff in both Old Port and Brunswick.Well be back!!

Fun original flavors combined with outstanding fresh gelato make this place a great spot to stop for a dessert. We had the ‘Doughing Me, Doughing You’ and ‘Netflix and Chill’ and were elated at how delicious they were.

So good! There were lots of non dairy options too, including some non fruit ones, so I was impressed. Tastes every bit like full dairy gelato. Cute space.

Not much I can say about Gelato Fiasco that others havent already said. They have a huge selection of fresh gelato that hits the spot no matter the temperature outside. The staff are always extremely friendly. Id be lying if I said I didnt come here at least once a week.

Great stop if you are in the Old Port area of Portland! Gelato is awesome and tons of flavors to choose from (sometimes too many) and new ones are rotated in periodically.On Fridays and weekends be prepared for a little bit of a wait (due to larger crowds in Old Port in general do from tourists and the bars), but its well worth it.Some family favorites: Peanut Butter, Chocolate Noir, Burnt Sugar, Raspberry and oh so many more!

Ice creams are OK. Not very good, just OK. They are extra precautious with covid, which is a good thing.

Very popular place, so get there in the earlier hours that it opens. We went close to closing time and there were barely any flavors left! Still, the employee was very kind and the sizes seem small, but they are actually very filling. I had the small size and I almost couldn’t finish it!

My favorite local treat. There are always a lot of options, including something new, every time. Theyll combine flavors, let you taste test, and scoop generously. Red handles quickly mark dairy free options making it simpler for those with restrictions too.

I LOVE Gelato Fiasco! I go there every time I drive up to Maine! (I drive up once a month at least!). Their Gelato is top of line, and made right in the room next to the serving room! The staff is always friendly, and always willing to help. You can try as many flavors before making a final decision. The prices are great and I always enjoy it when I go!

Yes, you need to go here. I was overwhelmed by the number of creative flavors. The staff was very friendly and patient as I sampled many of them, all of which were amazing. I settled on a pumpkin pie/marscapone caramel pistachio treat dish, and boy, was I happy.Just go!

I actually feel lucky to have tasted their gifts. Just love the gelato here. The staff is also very friendly. I ordered a medium size cup with three different flavors (house chocolate, almond butter, caramel brownie bits) and they all were delicious. My favorite would be caramel brownie bits though. Will definitely come back again!

Gelato is amazingly rich and pure, prices to match. Worth a visit for the exquisite quality without feeling stuffed thanks to the small portion size. Creative flavors not found elsewhere!

Impeccable service, great Red Spoon Society rewards, a chill and inviting atmosphere inside - not to mention theyre open all year round, have a Frozen Discount for 1% off your order for every degree below freezing, and have great hours. You cant go wrong with any flavor, and this is the one place I am unashamed to sample things. Ask a staff member if they have any new or limited edition flavors on rotation - they usually have a few seasonal or event-specific ones. If you are in Portland, you need to make a stop in here. Trust me.

Gelato fiasco is always the warmest, most welcoming establishment - Ive never had a bad visit, and Ive been visiting for almost seven years now. The staff are always friendly. Even when theyre busy, theyll hand you a sample of any gelato youd like to test it. My personal favorite gelato is the raspberry stracciatella that makes its way into the rotation with the summer season, but I always appreciate the unique fall flavors that they rotate it to keep their selection of gelato new and interesting for repeat customers. My person favorites are the $4.50 mystery pints in the back of the store, which contain a packed together selection of the previous days flavors. So good!

The interior of Gelato Fiasco is similar to that of a cute cafe. It is quiet and rarely crowded.Lily H. is an amazing server and she was really patient and let us try as many flavors as we wanted. She also gave us recommendations and her favorite flavors. We ordered our gelato and an waffle cone. The register had an error and they couldnt fix it so they were going to give us our items for free, but Lily really welcomed us so we couldnt do that so we paid and tipped in cash instead of credit.The espresso chip, ginger cookie, Sicilian pistachio, and mango flavors are amazing. Espresso chip is an addicting coffee flavor with little chips to give it a bite. Ginger cookie has a wonderful light flavor and has cookie chunks to add to the ginger flavor. I am not typically a fan of pistachio gelato, but the Sicilian pistachio really tastes like pistachios instead of pistachio flavoring. The mango is bright and sweet as expected.I came back multiple times and the gelato and service is good everytime. The only regret I have is that I cannot bring a tub of gelato back without it melting during my 5 hour drive and that New York does not have a branch of Gelato Fiasco. Overall, what a beautiful gelato shop where every flavor is delicious. I highly recommend checking gelato fiasco out!

This place was wonderful. We started at the Gorgeous Gelato, but there was no air on in the place. The line was long and hot. We left and came across the street to the Gelato Fiasco. It was delicious, they line moved fast, and they had the air on!☺

While this location had fewer selections there is still a variety to choose from and I am never disappointed with my choices. Service and atmosphere is also great, great to bring children and adults of all ages.

We always stop at Gelato Fiasco whenever in the Portland area, no matter the weather. The texture of their gelatos and sorbettos is always excellent. This time I had horchata sorbetto which might be the best flavor Ive had at GF. Other flavors my family had that I tasted and loved were: salted caramel and chocolate amaretto.
