It was my first time to this location and found some sleeping bags for a great price on the re-sell shelves. They had a bunch of products that were in great condition for good prices. If your looking to shop local its a must stop.

In an outdoor gear world dominated with soul-less corporate-feeling REIs, this small but PACKED family gear shop has it all: friendly staff, great prices, a huge range of items, stylish and funky goods, and a great used bargain basement.My advice: go here.Would be cool if they could do outdoor BBQs in the summertime and such.

Best outdoor store in Portland. Their new section has pretty much everything you need to get outside, and the consignment stuff is well curated and well priced. I went in looking for a specific style jacket and found exactly what I wanted, pretty much brand new, at half of what I wouldve paid online. Mike and the staff are super helpful and welcoming. A terrific addition to the development of Foster as a destination. The store doesnt look all very large as you enter, but there is a second room that expands the space (and the inventory) significantly. Service was friendly, and I was surprised to see how many options there were for something Ive always considered to be a niche product (snowshoes). Both their new items and the variety of consignment goods were impressive. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, just what you would hope for in a neighborhood business.

I like to go here whenever I can, to browse through some of the secondhand gear. This place has saved me so many times right before a backpacking trip or a big hike - always super affordable stuff.Love all the gear that is sold here and the staff are always knowledgeable and super friendly!

Great Outdoor shop. Right off Foster and easy to access via bike or car. I went into to buy 3 backpacking meals for the Timberline loop around Mt. Hood this week. Stoked. Mike and Sarah both greeted me as I walked in. Both knowledgeable about outdoor gear. They also have a bunch of used gear!!! Thanks again Mike and Sarah. Great shop for new and consigned outdoor gear. The prices are very fair for brand-name cosigned items (Patagonia, The North Face, Columbia). Parking is easily accessible. The store is a true gem to the Foster-Powell/Lents neighborhood.

Great used outdoor clothing selection, high quality brands. Like next adventure basement but better quality used gear and better organized. Limited new clothing/gear but some solid options. Love this addition to the neighborhood and cant wait to go back after Christmas when Im allowed to shop for myself! A small toy table is available for little ones to play, a nice touch.

Jam packed with quality and quantity in this little neighborhood shop! Always amazed at the brands they carry, and the shear amount of awesome used gear they have here. Especially backpacks and footwear and clothing - always check here first, get a great deal, and put some money into the local hood! And if youre looking to trim your unused gear locker and clean up your closet, the consignment system they have here is easy and rewarding.

Great addition to the neighborhood! Stopped by to grab something we needed for a weekend trip and was impressed by their selection. The owner was super nice and we got a great deal on the plates and bowls we came to get. Also picked up a map of the mt hood area as an impulse buy. We’ve already made a list of the next items we need from Foster Outdoor, so we’ll be back soon.

We had such a great experience buying some sleeping pads here. Great prices and super helpful service. Since wed never used a sleeping pad before, they let us try some out in the store and were very helpful answering questions and giving us time to browse. Well definitely be returning here for our outdoor needs.

Went here for a new day pack and snow shoes. Got all the guidance I needed on choices from the owner. Was a very nice guy and super helpful. Prices are competitive with REI. And it feels good to support local! Will shop here from now on for all my bigger gear purchases!

I love this little outdoor store. They give a fair price when buying and they have a great selection of gear. I just love that the friendliest used gear shop is in the Fopo neighborhood.

Cool place with a variety of new and some consignment items. Great selection of quality outdoor gear. Work Boots are plenty, great selection of consignment backpacks, day packs and overnight packs as well. Definitely worth a pass through, you will find something you want/need. Owner is great, easy to talk to and knows where to direct you when looking for something specific.

Great new addition to the changing Foster strip. New gear to get you ready for hitting the trail as well as a great selection of recycled and really cool vintage items . I will definitely keep popping back to find that next sweet deal. They have a kids area, so the kids can play while you browse the goodies.

Went in here to look at backpacks, and Tiffany spent almost an hour explaining the packs, their differences, helping me try them on and ultimately finding me an awesome used pack for a steal of a price. Couldn’t recommend more!

This is SE Portlands hot new outdoors store!My store experience:Having just driven back into town from backpacking the Wallowas, I was beat, tired and my destroyed shoes had done a number on my feet and ankles. I was almost home when I passed Foster outdoor. Some of their gear and clothing selection were outside with a summer sale sign on the rack. Undoubtedly tired, I knew I needed new shoes. I stopped here, surprised I had never noticed it before. Given my condition at that point, I felt like finding it then was meant to be.I was greeted by Mike, a human who looks like someone who knows the outdoors and how to gear up for being in the world. He answered a list of questions about a variety of gear. And when I asked about shoes he showed me to both the new and used selection. The shop was cozy, felt very neighborhood esque and was well stocked. While I was there and Mike was helping the customers, I got into a pleasant conversation which was a nice garnish on the experience. To top off an already above expectation visit, Mike found me an almost new pair of shoes, at a sweet price! They probably fit better than any hiking boots I have found myself. Needless to say, Im going back here for my outdoor gear needs.
