This is a smaller hardware store compared to those huge box stores but I can usually get an answer from anyone that works there quickly and most of the time accurately. Looked for a hose end cap and the guy close buy said he saw them and quickly helped find a pack. Looked for some weather stripping and the woman behind the paint desk knew exactly what isle. Bonus, us veterans get a discount. I show the my vet is and good to go. Thank you.

I started going here as a kid with my grandpa, now as a forty-something homeowner I like it even more. The nuts and bolts selection is epic and I’ve never failed to find what I needed. They have a great selection of everything else too. They have knowledgeable employees staffed in the different areas which is a welcome change from other big home improvement stores. Generally they have great prices, but every now and then you’ll find something a random product that’s way overpriced.

They have amazing staff and always have the odds and ends we need to get things put together right!

Theres no place in NE Portland with better selection, competitive prices, varied selection or more knowledgable employees than Parkrose Hardware. For a complete novice with regards to home repair and improvement as myself, I am always thankful for assistand in finding what I need, and learning how to use it. I wouldnt shop anywhere else for hardware, gardening/landscaping, or home improvement needs.

Best chain hardware store in the area. Knowledgeable helpful staff. There was a sudden massive line at checkout and within 3 minutes they had every lane open. Excellent fastener selection, if youre looking for something hard to find, check here. Theyre quite a bit out of my way but have been worth the trip every time.

The greeter! The young lady at the front with the most beautiful eyes and disposition was am exceptional employee. All if the employees from that point of entry was phenomenal. We went into almost every department and each employee was as gracious as the next. Thank you for changing my mind about Parkrose Hardware employees. The store was clean as always and put together well. The isles are wide and almost lead one from one item to the next item that compliments the one before. BRAVO!!!!!

The knowledge and service I received in the paint department is the best I’ve ever had. The associate took the time to show me different products as well asked questions to ensure I was taking home the right product. She was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.

Drove to the Parkrose Hardware store from Gresham to pick from their unique greeting cards selection..I needed the laughter that I was feeling while reading the messages in the cards.This store does appear to have stocks of Hardware items also besides the greeting cards.Thank you!

Lisa was a huge help and so were all the other employees at Parkrose Hardware. I’d had a really frustrating day, visited 2 other hardware stores, and finally called Parkrose. Lisa helped me out on the phone and got everything sorted for me in the store. Amber at the cash register was very friendly as well. I will make this my go to hardware store in the future. Great selection and helpful employees!

Perhaps I just got unlucky and picked a bad time to go to Parkrose. It was my first time and a recommendation that brought me 7 miles one way to order new window screens. On the phone I was told the person who works on screens was on vacation for the next 7 days and he has orders pending but I should come by and order them to get in the queue. The person on the phone was great. Then I got to the store and was told the employee was on vacation for the next 2 weeks. That’s a big difference! I wouldn’t have driven there if I had known. Walking around the store I came across 3 employees, two never made eye contact, said hello or anything to acknowledge my existence. Like I said it might have been just an unlucky experience. I might try the Vancouver location.

Went in to buy a yeti cup, easy to find, clean and the employees were very nice. Love coming here.

Parkrose Hardware has very personable people, typical of Portlanders in gen. Having the Specialty departments and experts in the basic areas one always finds in hardware stores, work clothing and Plants! Yes, a small but impressive nursery. Found a Kennikennick shrub of all things. Youll have fun there.

Nice place. It is smaller than Home Depot but they have most things you might need and things that the big box stores dont have! It is nice to run in and run out and not have to deal with a large store. They are a little pricier but it is worth it for the convenience.

I come here for the epic staff, whose excellence, engagement, and neighborly sass are a respite from the box store norm. Also the selection of parts and hardware is one of the best in the Portland area. The prices are not the most competitive; but for NE PDX, the convenience, selection and knowledgeability of crew; its well worth it.

They always have what I need in a pinch. Very well stocked store and plenty of cashiers to get you on your way.

Very helpful and friendly associates. Also you dont have to seek out an associate. They are in abundance and knowledgeable.

Great honest customer service on a winter storm day of 2021

Parkrose is my go-to place for nuts, bolts, and hardware. Everything from concrete anchors to metric allens in chrome.I think the prices here are competitive to the big box stores, but the added level of customer service mattress it worth while.

Great store, usually has what you need. But I feel that they definitely should extend a fellow Parkrose Merchant some form of discount. I do and I have been a Parkrose merchant for over 40+years. They still will get my business.

Helpful staff. Way more hardware options than home depot and only a tiny bit more per bolt. But they actually have the right bolt size :) Will definitely be back for my next project.

Wanted to leave no stars. Saw their employees be extremely rude to a person that didn’t want to wear a mask. Stop using Covid as an excuse to give poor customer service! Actually heard one of the employees say that “inside Parkrose Hardware there is no Constitution”. How dare you! Some businesses have definitely forgotten that they should be grateful for every penny spent in their establishment.

Went in to purchased a easy start chainsaw. Purchased a Stihl MS 180 16in. They showed how to start and stop it. Went through the operation chain tensioner, fluids. I will be back for more equipment.

The most adorable hardware store and in a part of town that is sorely lacking one. I will absolutely be shopping here again. Staff was friendly and helpful (if a bit sparse). They have plants, single item bolts/screws/washers etc, all the tools you could need, and a small clothing selection. On the whole, a much better place to spend my money than Home Depot or Lowes.

I dont recommend buying anything other than fasteners and only because of the vast selection. The staff are rarely helpful at best and their managers are unplesant at best.

Everyone except the guy who cut my glass was rude. The lady didnt even punch in the scew for my glass. I understand its shifty area n a lot of people are trying to steal but know how to differentiate the two guys. SMH.

I called about chainsaws (Stihl Farm Boss) and thought I was told there were 6 in stock. On arrival there were none on the shelf and none in backstock and that they have to be built before sale. I asked questions of a young lady (short with black hair). She was the least helpful person I have encountered at Parkrose Hardward in the 25+ years I have shopped there. After providing a snide description informing me about how we had a storm and lots of chainsaws sold I walked away. I didnt appreciate her tone. Perhaps I annoyed her by asking questions as a customer.. She would not be an asset in my retail establishment. So you have lost a sale and my business. - A once faithful customer.

Parkrose is always willing to go above and beyond for their customers. I have always had a great experience at Parkrose. They are our go to place for our hardware needs. Their screening department are awesome. I took a patio screen door into them and they were honest and told me they could look at the door and see if they could fix it. We ended up not having it fixed due to cost. They offered to dispose of the old screen door for us. Thank you for such awesome customer service.

Very clean and tidy. Very organized. They have pretty much everything you need for gardening and home improvement. The staff approached me to ask if I was finding everything ok. Thats huge in customer service, acknowledging the customer. I love a local neighborhood hardware store. Makes you feel connected to a community.

I had previously reviewed this hardware store because they had been so kind in the past. Today was a completely different experience and one that will force me to shop elsewhere in the future. I made an order over the phone for a pick-up purchase today, 4/5/20. I clearly stated, on three occasions the type of plant that I wanted, an orange Icelandic Poppy. I was assured over the phone that that is what they had and what I would be picking up. I told them the color over and over. When I picked up the item, I was given the wrong color. I hurried in, trying to stay 6 feet from shoppers and was told they would not refund me for these items, which I did not order, unless I was willing to go through check out. I spoke with 3 different staff members, though did not go through check-out. They refused to refund these items unless I was willing to be unsafe. I expressly made this order under the condition it was an order pick up and I would not have to be within 6 feet of someone. This is impossible in their check-out. It is laid out in a way that forces you to be within that distance from staff and other shoppers. I offered to give them my credit card, though explained I was not willing to go through check-out. They refused.

Love the bolt selection. Had every bolt, nut, and washer on my list. Ill drive all the way across town just because I know theyll have it.

As helpful as always. If I have questions, they have the right answers, even if the answer is no. If they dont have the right tool/product, they dont try to upsell. They just apologize for not being able to get me what I need.

I always have the best hardware store experience at parkrose hardware both this location and the one in east Vancouver. Besides the standard stuff, they stock a wide range of unusual parts that arent found at most hardware stores, especially Home Depot and Lowes.

Update: Due to going to the Bathroom to relieve bowel distress. And then cautious about being treated in a grotesques way upon exiting the restroom while holding my car title in one game & $202 dollars in the other. While mentally going I get a checklist of items that are needed to repair my car.I was informed today at another store that I was banned from shopping at Parkrose Plaza. After being flipped off by Adam in Front of Deanz Greenz located blocks away.I went in to buy the tools to help fix Wolfsburg. In which case diarrhea caught my attention. Turns out being a African American customer, trying to protect their funds & vehicle title from theft. Will get you 86ed. In which case you get cursed at, told to scurry away like a bug. Because police are coming.So to this fake Home Depot. You like how the police took my report. Then bounced out. Maybe quit bsing paying customers who have a bowel event. Before shopping..America!!

Theyve got everything. Plenty of staff to help, all the little nuts, bolts, and usual hardware stuff youd expect, lots of SUPER cute/unusual yard decor options, and this hose. This 👏🏼 hose 👏🏼 right 👏🏼 here.

I experiance quite a hostel employee in this store due to myself drinking coffee in the store. As this was not posted i assumed it would be okay. Having my mask easily accessible to put on when around other customers and as soon as I finish, I took those precautions seriously. However, I did not come into the store to be belittled by employee for drinking coffee. I was told in a threating matter to stop drinking my coffee and wear a mask as he uninvitedly, stood by me as i finished the rest of my drink. This was not what i came into store for. I feel Customer relations in this store needs help. -unsatisfied customer.

I took my neighbor to buy wood stove pellets yesterday. He is a 20 year veteran. No veteran s discount was given. He paid 249.99 a ton. He bought 2 tons. When he called the store the manager told him that he was to busy to talk to him and hung up. When he called back a second time the manager told him that he was to busy helping customers and hung up on him again. I guess that when my neighbor spends 500.00 at their store in one day hes not a customer. I have shopped there for years and I will be going elsewhere to shop in the future.

This place has gone down hill! The prices have sky Rocketed, and the customer service is absolutely atrocious!! This used to be one of my favorite hardware stores I would bring in my dog the employees were nice and the prices were fair. Now the employees are rude, roll their eyes, dont care, and The prices have literally tripled since last time I went there. I wouldnt mind paying triple the price if I didnt get treated like garbage !but since they want to treat people like garbage I think Ill just stop going there and I dont recommend anybody else go there either to pay triple what you can buy somewhere else for way cheaper!!!!

I was looking for several things and people at Parkrose Hardware directing me exactly where I needed to go I spent the least time in their possible and checked out quickly everybody was kind and friendly

An employee came up to me and started harassing me about my backpack. I had been in the store for over 15 minutes at that point in time and had come across plenty of employees, and no one had cared about my backpack before. I had also never seen a sign that said customers were expected to give up their large bags. Well, this person just decided he wanted to attempt confiscate my backpack. No friendly greeting, no offer to help me find what I needed, just an immediate attempt to take my backpack. I had to explain I carry life-saving medications in it and I would let someone else search it after I was done with my shopping, but not before. I believe this employee had a problem with my all black clothing and purple hair.The only reason I am giving two stars is for the reasonably priced items I purchased.In response to the reply below:Perhaps you should consider posing this policy somewhere in the front of your store that is easily noticeable. There was also an employee grilling meat out front and nothing was said. Or any of the employees at the cash registers at the front of the store could have said something.
