I went and got some froyo yesterday and I asked for the roasted hazelnuts on top and when I ate it, you could taste that it was old and stale. The taste was overpowering the froyo making it taste bad. They didn’t even taste like hazelnuts.
The best froyo in Portland! You’ll never get tired of the classic and creative flavors and toppings and it feels great knowing you’re supporting not only a local, woman-owned business, but several local vendors as well. The owner, Elizabeth Nathan, is awesome at giving back to the community and the staff is always friendly and patient with samples. This has been a favorite “Date Night” stop with my son since it opened - and we often run into familiar faces, too.
Eb and Beans fruit based frozen yogurts are some of the best I have ever had and the awesome selection of toppings never fails to disappoint. With a rotating list of flavors there is always something new to try. The combinations of delicious concoctions you can create are nearly endless!
Love this frozen yogurt, especially when they have Tart; also love the service I receive from the employee assigned to serving customers. It seems they are still working out their service model. There’s usually two people working, sometimes a third, but typically only one dedicated to serving customers. I’ve been glad to see they are adding employees to help with speed of service but I wish they would take their breaks before what seems to be the peak of business. We used to come in around 8:30 but I think they are busiest starting around that time until they close; this is also the time they start doing pre-close activities. It is disappointing to be a customer waiting in a long line and see multiple employees take breaks or go to the back to clean dishes and small wares for the next day. I do love Eb & Bean and can tell they are always trying hard; but I think they would benefit greatly by focusing on customers during their peak period. I know they would also see an increase in sales based on the number of people I see leaving before they even get to the front of the line.
Sweet treat you can feel good about! Inventive flavors and incredible toppings at a great price. Love the local sourcing. Woman-owned business too, which always feels good to support. You can’t go wrong with Eb and Bean!
The Best Ice Cream in Portland. Hands down. The owner and creator studied the art of ice cream in France. We are lucky she took all that knowledge and hard work back to Portland. Organic, probiotics, local, on and on in this category. Let’s get to the real stuff.Lick Your Spoon delicious flavors. They change the flavors every 4 weeks for non dairy and every 2 weeks for dairy. Check their website.Plenty of Dairy and Non Dairy choices. They have generous samples. Scrumptious toppings, sauces, hard shells, etc. Regular and Gluten Free cones. Everyone has options here.
Expensive for the amount of froyo you get... You get more from those weighed. The tart was icy vs creamy/smooth.
We loooove Eb & Bean. Amazing flavors. Great for variety of bases for those who are sensitive to dairy or nuts. It is my go-to for a sweet treat for my kids.
Customer service was relatively decent, even though the person making everything was clearly not having a great time. All in all, I was not impressed. The flavors were very subtle and the toppings are way over priced. It felt like just another over hyped Portland boutique desert shop. Not planning another visit anytime soon.
Love the soft serve here especially since they have non-dairy and vegan options available!
We went for a walk on the SE Division near 32nd and came across Eb & Bean.Overwhelmed by curiosity, we decided to try their yogurt.I got Chocolate Coconut, and for the topping, I picked marionberry compote DELICIOUS 😋!I have to say the lack of fruits in the topping selection is dissatisfying. This place is not far from Salt & Straw Ice-cream, so if you’re in for something healthy and less sugar Eb & Bean is a perfect choice!
Eb and Bean constantly impresses me with their flavors and toppings. I love their non- dairy offerings and the staff is top notch.
Just love this local frozen yogurt stop. Their flavors are interesting and always delicious and they always have non-dairy options. Theyre toppings are fresh and so yummy. The staff are incredibly friendly.
The fro yo was delicious and the container and spoon are compostable. What more could you ask for?!
I love this place! Creative flavors, awesome local toppings, and of their non-dairy flavors they seem to always have an almond milk based option (which is hard to come by in ice cream shops) but is much appreciated! Their staff are always so so friendly too. Super place all around.
Absolutely love love love Eb & Bean! From the sophisticated flavors, sustainable ingredients to friendly staff!
We love Eb and Bean! Always our favorite treat.
Best best ice cream in town no question!
I freaking LOVE THIS PLACE. Im dairy free and this place makes me feel like Im eating real ice cream with real toppings again. 😭 Thank you for existing. The woman that helped us on Thursday was super nice too. 💕
A few delicious choices and many more topping options, without the flavors of froyo being too overly complicated or wild;) I sampled the triple berry something?-which was delicious and tasted like a tiny hint of blue cheese somewhere in there. I also Sampled the earl grey Caramel flavor which was my least favorite but still very good, and the cherry lemon flavor, also excellent- refreshing, tart and sweet. I then decided on a twist of Salty Pistachio and Brown Sugar Sesame. It was amazing!!! None of the flavors are overly sweet. Subtle, simple, yet good. They dont go overboard and it is worth the premium price, try it. They also have several artisan chocolates and goodies for sale inside as well. Cool decor with a wall filled with treats made of paper mache. Good luck;)
Wow, their vegan froyo is amazing! I tried the pumpkin pecan with vegan caramel and it was incredible. I also appreciated all of the safety measures this store had in place (seriously the best covid measures Ive seen in PDX) and I was wowed by the incredible customer service! Maia was so sweet and did an incredible job with greeting and serving us! We will be back soon to try all of the vegan flavors.
My all time favorite yogurt! My boyfriend insists on a visit if Im having a rough day, cheers me right up! Organic, local, and dairy free options. The flavors are unique and change often so you can count on variety!
Really craving froyo but line of 12 people wed night each transaction taking average of 6 min a person uh, no thanks.
Five stars every time. If I could, I’d give six stars for when Hannah is working behind the counter. She is joy. Eb and Bean is joy. And I feel that happy energy every time I walk into their Division storefront. Obviously their froyo is amazing too. We fly through their punch cards.
Best froyo in town! If youre looking for loads of mainstream candy toppings this isnt the place to go - the toppings are delicious, organic, high quality crumbles and nuts and marshmallows and chocolate chips and, yes, even some organic dye-free candy, marshmallows, and sprinkles. Sauces, shells, and a few other things round out the topping selection nicely.
Delicious food with great non-dairy options. Great service.
Yum yum yum!! You can’t go wrong here. I dream about this frozen yogurt. This location has a little dessert section of artisan candies for purchase. They also have FLOATS which I’m excited to try.My boyfriend doesn’t like frozen yogurt and his reaction to the dairy free options was, “This is ice cream right?” Great options and toppings!
Such great options here for dairy free and gluten free.Very good almond milk macadamia nut vanilla yogurt.Certainly will be coming back here 😁
I really love Eb & Bean. Their flavors and toppings are great, even for those of us with dietary restrictions. Not only do they have dairy free flavors to choose from, but toppings as well. My 3 year old loves it here and the service is fast and friendly.
I find many places in Portland are too generously reviewed but Eb & Bean deserves a high rating. Great quality and delicious. Their frozen yogurts are refreshing and not heavy. I have had them 3 times since visiting Portland. Worth a visit.
My favorite ice cream spot. They have real frozen yogurt with amazing flavor combinations and always at least three non-dairy flavors. All of the toppings are organic, local, etc, so it feels like a responsible but indulgent treat. Trying all of the flavors is part of the fun.
Its a perfectly good place to get some frozen yogurt, and they have nice toppings. Its very popular, and close to my place. Fine for what it offers, but if you want something creatively unique go to Salt and Straw.
Best vegan froyo! Although it felt more like a soft served ice cream, all the plant based flavors were delicious. It has an alley were you can bring your dog indoors.
This place is a gem. Excellent vegan ice cream. I am not a vegan- I love dairy in all forms, especially ice cream, yet I really liked their vegan options and would get them because they taste good, not because they are vegan. I liked their other options as well. Servings are small, as desert should be. There is seating inside.
While the quality of yogurt is amazing, and I have lovingly dubbed EB & Bean my favorite of all princess style ice cream spots, your new pandemic style system has a few bugs.First of all, why would you put the menu only next to the ordering window giving customers no time to decide what they want amongst the bajillion options when you could put the menu on the window next to the line where were all waiting awkwardly with our masks on just twiddling our fingers? And while I was twiddling in line and gazing upon the multiple topping options, again having no idea what flavor I am able to top said items upon, I also wondered why anyone would leave their product baking in the hot June sun like that.Im pretty sure my friend Dario (ahem.. namedrop) of Pura Vida chocolate probably wouldnt enjoy the fact that his finely crafted Peruvian cacao is sitting there melting behind glass in front of a bunch of princesses waiting for their unknown ice cream flavors to be revealed. While of course Ill be back, because Im an emotional eater and theres nothing more delicious than high quality cold fatty milk products with sugar on top, I hope youll take my suggestions to heart and turn your line situation from feng shwag to feng shui!Yours truly,Fat Emily
Gluten-free dairy-free and lots of options. The person serving me was either very nice or was faking it very well.
The dairy free options tasted super good and all of the toppings were super nice. interior low key looks like an art gallery
Oof. What can I say? What words are there, have there ever been, will be, sufficient to describe how much I look forward to gobbling down this sweet, creamy ice rainbow and feeling it trudge down my throat after a difficult day at the daycare...? Yeah, thats right.
Love this place! Great vegan frozen yogurt and service is generally nice. One star off for not being able to make your own cups of yogurt. Making your own is half the fun!
This is my place for a treat, fantastic flavors, great service, the most amazing toppings and chocolate selection to die for!! I really appreciate how many items are plant based here!!
Magic shell without the nasty ingredients?? Dairy free fro-yo? Even on a cold rainy night, my spirit felt the joy of a hot summer day.
Not your typical froyo as the flavors are carefully crafted to be smooth and creamy. The combinations are excellent, coffee yogurt with hot fudge and almond toffee hits the spot. A nice balance between soft serve and yogurt.
Bumble crumble did me (ask for Tom)... but be warned, if you aware of David Icke and certain reptilian theories, this establishment is a hub for certain overlords. Good chocolate hazelnut pudding tho...
HAVE THE WAFFLE CONE! It is so good. More like a cookie (think stroopwaffel) than an ordinary cone and goes great with the salted pistachio fro yo. The toppings are tempting and plentiful but a little pricey. A nice little spot to skirt the line at that other ice cream place down the street.
The flavors themselves are gross a 2 year old and 5 year old did not like it. In addition, its supposed to be frozen yogurt, but you can’t put the toppings on yourself. The girl has to put it on the tiniest cup that resembles soft serve at Dairy Queen, except much more expensive and tastes bad. Would not recommend.
They have tart which is an essential flavour, but its not at all like traditional tart at all. Typically theres a bite to tart. Some acidity but without any fruity flavour. EB and Beans tart is just plain. Not like vanilla ice cream plain where its hard to mess up, more like a glass of plain milk. Zero tartness besides having less sugar, which really doesnt do the trick.
Way better option than the busy ice cream joints down the street
Many interesting flavor, frequently rotating menu, wide variety of toppings including home made whip cremes and hard shells, large vegan selection.
Ive tried both sweet and tart flavors and all of the selections are delicious. The toppings are good too.
Im not vegan but I go non-dairy everytime because its just that good. The smell of fresh waffle cones is a bonus too.
Absolutely delishous and perfect for any time of the year. Plenty of options for variety. Good vegan and gluten free options. But it is pricey.but worth it.
It is the ice cream paradise. I love it.
Great unusual flavors and toppings and light enough that you feel refreshed instead of fatted out when youre done. Very satisfying!!
First and foremost you dont get to fill your cup up like all other frozen yogurt spots. They do it for you here for a set price. Flavors are change but the mint is awesome. Topping selection isnt huge but the ones they do offer seem fresh and gourmet
Absolutely wonderful. This was my favorite of the four ice cream places I tried while visiting Portland. I tend to really enjoy frozen yogurt, so maybe Im biased.
Good soft served ice cream and great selection of toppings
Stopped in after dinner, all the way from EO. Kind staff and great product. Would return.
Good service, fine toppings and fro-yo. A tad expensive.
Nice people decent product, Too big for my budget though
Awesome vegan froyo. The waffle cone is top tier
I have found a new weakness! Great Froyo, great customer service! Clean place! Now, if could only be summer time!
Hands down, the best froyo Ive ever had. Ingredients are fresh, flavors are delightful, and they offer punch cards, so pretty much everything youd want and hope for.
Fantastic summer time frozen yogurt. Lots of selection
For frozen yogurt, this place is really good. Great source for local chocolate bars and products as well
Not the best FroYo place with kids - toppings are expensive and served up by the person at the counter. Homemade magic shell was too dark chocolate for kid tastes. I also found a little bit of plastic in one mouthful of yogurt - yikes!
This was legit the most hipster froyo Ive ever had. Delicious, yes, but their pricing nickel and dimes when compared to self serve, pay by the ounce places. If you want something a little different, or the Salt and Straw line down the street is too long, go here. It wouldnt, however, be my first choice going forward.
I almost never go here but the bottom line is that its excellent fro-yo with great dairy-free options.
Delicious ice cream. Love the non dairy flavours.
The best vegan soft serve in portland!!! So creamy and flavorful
Everyone loves soft serve, right? Dairy and dairy-free options as well as a great selection of toppings.
Eb & Bean has a bunch of unique yogurt flavors. The staff is also nice and willing to help you through your choices.
I feel like I should like this place more, but each time I visit I kind of wish Id gone to Salt & Straw instead. The fro-yo itself is great quality, but I struggle to find toppings that delight me, and I am continually saddened mochi is not one of the options (my go-to).
Try the vegan flavors! They are phenomenal!
They aren’t open on weekdays. Call and check the website before you go.
Love this place 💖 really delicious non dairy yogurt!
Tons of flavor options, a good waffle cone and staff that were both helpful and friendly. I will definitely be a regular.
Fantastic soft serve with plentiful toppings and lots of seating. Inventive flavors.
Nice froyo flavors like tangerine orange or Valrhona chocolate. The husband had orange, I had chocolate. The toppings, like almond brittle and broken cookie bits, put the treats over the top. You know youve landed on a good froyo place when they care about getting the toppings right. Super yum.
Great texture yogurt and a unique mix of flavors. A tad pricey for a small, bit splitting a large is a good value.
Delicious fro-yo, friendly staff in a beautiful part of town
Excellent frozen yogurt and great variety of toppings.
Tastes good. I think Im just too value conscious. $4.75 ($1 for topping) for a large thats smaller than a McDonalds cone? Cant do it.
If I could afford the calories, I would order one of their vegan coconut-based ice creams every day. Yum! Only downside to this shop is that the building is uncomfortably cold. Bring a sweater.
Nice smooth dessert. Loved it.
Delicious soft-serve frozen yogurt with great toppings and ridiculously good non-dairy options
Best froyo I’ve ever had! Flavors change almost weekly!
Everyone can find something they will love here, great coconut and almond options
Good soft-served vegan ice cream with a large selection of toppings.
Not sure what exactly I was expecting, but having read some reviews I just thought it would be better. Ive tasted fab alternative ice creams made from cashew nuts and avocados. I guess I went in with too high an expectation.
Their banana bread yougurt and salted carmel yogurt are amazing. Never knew how much I needed candied ginger and marionberry compote in my life until I had them on froyo. So amazing and a great place to bring the kids. Top notch.
Ice-cream, so many, many toppings and vegan waffle cones - you cant go wrong at Eb & Bean!
