You can rent any truck here that you want. They have terrific amazing prices for everything you need its a One-Stop Center or anything rental that you need to get equipment or anyting. Are really high in the security one of the owners came out and asked me what I was doing when I was taking pictures. They have some storage shed that you can actually rent. Theyre open for business during the pandemic. The place is really organized clean and everything. For those people that actually play Pokemon go. There are two gyms nearby. Very clean and organized.
Avoid this place. I showed up for my hitch install appointment at the confirmed time / date and was told their “hitch guy” would not be in for five more days! Did not receive a phone call or email about the lack of availability. Nor did I receive any form of apology for wasting my time + gas, not to mention a severe disruption to my moving plans.
Do not use this location. I made a reservation online. 100% Guaranteed I got to the location early. Chris told me to leave and come back in 15 min. LOL Okay. Then when I came back he told me they didnt have any of the trailers I wanted to rent. I said there are 6 of then sitting outside the window. He told me they were already rented. I tried to show him my reservation and he lost his mind. They post the manager and franchise owners phone numbers on the door. Dont bother calling them for help. They just dont care.
We rented a pickup truck after learning that the cargo van we reserved wouldn’t meet our needs. Throughout the rental experience, Michael, Darian, and Marco were enthusiastic, flexible, and accommodating. Michael was especially patient when we had questions about the online app. Our experience was great.
Terrible customer service... they will not allow you to park on the premises, you are expected to park on Sandy and carry your items from the back all the way out to the main street. I intended to purchase many boxes and moving supplies but after an unpleasant interaction with an employee while trying to park I realized there was little chance of getting someone to help me carry these boxes all the way back to the car and took my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this location- its well worth the drive to go elsewhere.
Terrible customer service. Had an appointment to get a trailer hitch installed, drove an hour to the location and they said they can’t do it, parts aren’t in. No phone call, no email, no nothing. Wasted 2 hours, 1/2 a day of work, and gas money for this appointment. I understand things happen, but a phone call would have been appreciated. Also the clerk was non apologetic. Even when I walked up and said “hi I have an appointment” he said, nope I don’t have any appointments today. Then proceeded to look at his computer and what do you know, my appointment was right there. Incredibly frustrating.
I wasnt expecting much cause I was doing everything last minute but I came there but the 3 gentleman that were working there around 11am really went above and beyond especially with how busy it was and the amount problems they dealt with. I definitely am going to come back here again.
We arrived to a huge parking lot with U-Haul trucks and the customer entrance sign, but no parking for cars. Plenty of space in front of the trucks, though and room for other vehicles to go past. We only needed to get paper to wrap dishes from inside the office. We were yelled at by three different employees that “You can’t park here!” In the pouring rain. When we asked politely where we * could* park, we were told out front in the street and walk back around. What kind of business doesn’t let someone park for less than 5 minutes in the pouring rain when no other customers were there? We left and saw no parking available for the next two blocks. We will never return to this location ever again. If I could give a negative star review, I would. I recommend finding a different location with nicer employees.
Worst expierence Ive ever had in life. You sign up for reservation and then never get helped to actually get the vehicle. Its a scam
I made an appointment with them for a trailer hitch install well over a week ago. I show up today to find out my appointment had been moved to the following day. There was no communication about this what so ever and the clerk seemed to think it was my fault for not knowing. I understood that the part was not available but with no communication I got to stand in line for 30 minutes to find out they moved my appointment without telling me. No email, no phone call, nothing. They also expected me to come back the following day for the installation. I have a job, I already took time off today to get it done, I couldnt take another afternoon off without any warning.I will never go back to this location.
The worst customer service experience Ive had in years. The manager was rude and an ego maniac. Go to another U-Haul location if possible.
Had reserved a car dolly upon arrivasystem was down amd after 45 mins 9f filling out paper work and having credit card info read out loud multiple times to a room full of customer they then asked to form a line outside super unprofessional and totally breach of privacy wont come back
We were here this morning renting a vehicle. We were able to work with Zach who was professional, respectful, and very helpful. However, the other employee working gave us the worst customer service I have ever experienced. He ignored us when we walked into the store, was completely unhelpful, seemed reluctant to do his job, was incredibly rude, condescending... the list goes on. I will avoid this uhaul in the future purely because of my experience with this individual. I would highly consider reevaluating his employment.
Great customer service and prob the cleanest by far of at least 6 uhauls I’ve visited! I think Bathroom actually was sparkling! I inquired about an item nonchalantly & the customer service rep went and looked it up for me without prompts or hesitation. 😁
I had scheduled to reserve a truck to move and when I showed up the computer system was down, and the employees here, specifically Darrien, really impressed me with how cool and collected they were while helping an ever growing crowd of people navigate the online system and making sure everyone got through as smoothly as possible.Kudos to yall!
On 9/1/19 I rented a U-Haul truck. When we rented this truck from U-Haul, they send you out to the truck to inspect it and approve that it is not damaged and clean. I went to look at the truck and opened the back to to look in, signed off and then went on our way. Once we arrived at our home to start filling the truck, and now that we had stepped in to the truck for the first time, we noticed a sticky spot on the floor, a metal rod wedged into the side of the truck (left from the previous renter), and that the seal for the utility dolly was broken. It was clear at that time that the truck had been rushed through and not inspected after the previous renters returned it. Otherwise the seal would not have been broken on the dolly.I promptly called U-Haul to report what we found, it had been less than 20 minutes from the time we drove off with it, and they assured us over the phone that we would not be charged for the mess or the broken seal. I asked about the metal rods I found in the truck and was told to leave them there so they could return them to the rightful owner. After we were finished using the truck, we swept out the dirt from our move and returned it. We did not feel it was our responsibility to mop up the sticky mess that was left for us by the previous renters. U-Haul did not charge us for the broken seal but tacked on a $25 cleaning fee for the sticky mess and for leaving items behind ( the metal rods they instructed me to leave in the truck). We asked them to refund the fee since we had followed their instruction and were originally assured we would not be charged. The manager we emailed refused and did not believe us. I informed him that there was a phone call made just minutes after we rented the truck that may have been recorded, and that the customer service representative on the phone told me that we would not be charged for the dolly or a cleaning fee. Now he wont even respond.
Wish I had followed my instinct and the reviews left by others and not used this location. We where running behind as usual when moving so I sent my husband to get the uhaul. However I had not added him as a alternate driver. While my husband was logging in to pickup the van we rented online with the NO COUNTER Pick up option so we didn’t have to deal with any rude employees, long lines etc., he was approached outside by the general manager who asked if he needed help. My husband replied, “no” and explained he was just picking up. The manager went inside and then canceled our reservation and told my husband he had to come in to complete the transaction. My husband explained he was just going to do it online and the manager said yeah I know you are trying to and I keep bumping you off because you need to come in and because your wife was the only driver listed. My husband said, “additional drivers is one of the things we updated on our reservation and we have the option just like everyone else to pickup using the online option.” The manager said he was going to just keep bumping our reservation and that I, the other driver/spouse, needed to come in now in order to rent. Needless to say, we took our business to another location. The manager must not be aware that customers have the option to pick up without going to the counter and can even pick up when the store is closed. I’m not sure why he felt it necessary to butt into our already completed online reservation. We didn’t ask for or require his assistance in order to pick up the rental or make a edit to the reservation. I was so pleased when the online option started because it had always seemed the majority of uhaul employees lack basic customer service skills and lack completely the ability to listen before jumping to conclusions, problem solve, use humility, or deal with the irate customers they create with their exceptional lack of customer service skills and/or ability to calmly defuse a problem with a customer. I have used the online service before but not at the same time the store is opening. I know to now make sure I come prior to opening or well into the morning so the employees are distracted by the customers unaware of the online option that will be in line for a extended period of time only to have their day ruined by employees lacking the skills aforementioned. As if moving or organizing isn’t stressful enough....
AVOID. AVOID. Unless, of course, you enjoy employees who are late to opening a store, unkempt, rude, dismissive, unapologetic, unhelpful and even outwardly hostile. This location is truly terrible, and apparently will lie to you about parts being available and when to show up. Gross, Portland, you can do so much better.
After visiting this location yesterday to purchase several moving supply items, I left the premises as I found the U-Haul personnels professional acumen and service at this location is subpar.Upon entering the store, there was no personnel available inside to help with selections but I proceeded to locate and had selected several items for purchase. I placed these items on the counter when the first U-Haul representative appeared. The first gentleman came in with a customer, sat down at the terminal, never acknowledging our presence (neither eye contact or verbal) and began waiting on him. He never acknowledged with a hello or stated that someone would be available to assist with purchase. We waited for some time.Another U-Haul representative appeared and likewise exhibited the same manner. He went to the terminal on the left and began waiting on a gentleman who seemed to have walked up to the counter a few seconds later. When I asked if I could be helped with my purchase, this representative indicated As soon as I finish helping this gentleman, in a rather sarcastic and condescending tone. Maybe I should be overjoyed in that I received acknowledgment but only acknowledgement through my question.I then proceeded to replace the items selected on the shelves and left the store.First and foremost, I normally do not write posts but when I arrived at Sandy location, the store was unattended. I had enough time to read the information of various products offered, costs and make the appropriate selections for my needs. I also observed a customer, I presume, enter the store and proceed to the restroom facility.U-Haul personnel never once acknowledged our presence in the store. It was as if we were invisible. It was only when I posed the question that I received a comment. No acknowledgment? No someone will be with you in a minute? Totally unacceptable. If there was a rating of less than one star, my experience on 1/19/2018 would be so rated.
The U-Haul I was shown was a brand new looking Ford, when I came to pick it up they gave me a 2008 gmc, I wish they would have told me that the headlights were aimed to the right side of the road and were useless before I found myself in Salt Lake City Utah at night on the freeway with basically no headlights and pretty much blind on the road because of it. I would advise that you stock up on oil if you get one of these older trucks and maybe a few candles to light your way cause they would be better that the lights on the truck they gave me. Try driving cross country in a 26 foot box truck with bad lights it’s pretty terrifying. Bring some extra cash for hotels and plan to reach your destination late if you go with this company. And don’t plan on being able to get ahold of anybody for a few days if you have a complaint cause they take their sweet time getting back to you. Won’t be renting from this location again.
I have moved twice this year and I come to this location because they are the friendliest u-haul in town. They are always helpful if I need to adjust my date/time and always get a truck with a full tank of gas. The reason I even picked this location was their phone etiquette- they were super informative and friendly which you dont normally find at a u-haul store. If I move again I know where Im going!
Even though i got moved to 3 different uhaul stores before they found me a car transport, i walked into this location and it was busy, but guys took care of everyone including myself. It was fast and easy and friendly. Side note thank you who ever called me and moved my reservation ti this location do to that trailer had got delayed. Saved me a trip all over town. Happy returning customer.
If I could give a negative rating, I would. This location overcharged me $100 dollars then when I called into Customer Service they lie and say it was a preauthorized charge. My bank said it was paid and my balance shows it was paid. No one at U-Haul was helpful or intelligent. Zach is the manager at this location and he was no help. Chris was rude and unwilling to help. Don’t deal with these people. Horrible experience.
General Manager was very helpful. Good and accurate information about your moving needs and best ways to save money. Helped this disabled vet get his product in the car. Thank you!
Purchased a trailer hitch online through their website, one of their staff called me and told me the hitch was in stock and setup an appointment with me for a couple days later. But when I showed up for my appointment, I was then informed that the trailer hitch was not in stock. Was informed they must have sold the trailer hitch they had in stock and the only thing they could do was call me when a new one got in.Seriously? If you setup an appointment with someone you need to reserve that part. Or if you do sell it for unknown reasons, at least call the person that has an appointment so they dont drive out there for nothing.
I bought a tent trailer locally and the electrical connection between my vehicle and trailer were not compatible. I went to U-haul and bought an adapter. After plugging it in some of my trailers lighting wouldnt work. I went back into the store and was helped by Chris the hitch guy. He came out to my vehicle with a small testing device and, after about 15 minutes of checking multiple locations where the issue may be, solved my problem. I am very grateful Chris and the others at this U-haul location were so helpful. I highly recommend this U-haul store and its employees!!!
The back of General Manager Zachary Ralstons business card reads, I Can Help You. That must be a generic U-Haul tagline and not a personal motto, as it couldnt be further from the truth. Time and time again I have visited this U-Haul location, only to be ignored, treated dismissively, and/or spoken to rudely. I returned, despite my better judgment, because of the close proximity to my home... but convenience no longer outweighs rudeness after my last encounter. Long story shorter, a typically grouchy employee was rude to me, and when I said to him, You dont have to speak to me so rudely, there are more professional ways to communicate your point, his response was, Be sure to tell that to my supervisor! I entered the store (surprisingly, there were two other employees inside, a first both in having an employee in the store, and in having three working at once!). I asked to speak to the supervisor, was informed Zach wasnt in, and was given his business card to call. Which I did. Zach answered with a yeah, and while I was telling him the reason for my call, he was placing a drive-thru order at Taco Bell. The lack of professionalism from the grouchy employee nearly paled in comparison to how indifferent, rude, and disinterested Zach came across. I ended our conversation by telling him it was apparent he didnt care about my concerns, and he, between bites, mumbled Whatever. I am amazed this man made it to GM position and continues to hold the rank. Surely there are more qualified, personable, and courteous people about, who would do an infinitely better job representing the U-Haul brand? Whatever the case, I wont be returning to this location going forward, but hopefully this helps to inform people of what they might encounter at U-Haul Sandy Blvd., if they arent lucky enough to get one of the rare helpful employees Ive heard rumors of.
If I could rate this negative stars I would. When I arrived the staff at this location was friendly and helped me hook up my trailer. When they tested the lights the left blinker light on the trailer didn’t work. The only other 6x12 trailer available was 50+ minutes away 1 way and I had movers waiting to help me move my stuff. This put me 2 hours behind and I had to reschedule the movers. The only thing they were able to offer me was 50 dollars for my “inconvenience”. I spoke with Zach, the GM, and asked if he could assist me further and he was nothing but rude. I notified him that I would be leaving a poor review and he said please do, so here it is.
Was treated very disrespectfully and provided misinformation regarding hitch installation - including price and brand.
Pretty good and convenient. Rented a truck, it was ready to go when I got there. A little inefficient at the counter, but not bad.
Cody Reid was very friendly and efficient. He knew what was going on and could explain everything I needed to know. I would recommend him for your U-haul needs.
Scammed the charity helping us by charging us two-way when our destination was 150 miles away and then proceeded to over charge their card 950$ before truck was due back. Im sorry but ripping off a charity trying to help people move to help people move during a housing crisis is the lowest of the low. Even cooperate was baffled by their behavior, hope they follow through with their investigation so these rip off atists dont continue this behavior.
I had Chris install a new harness for my 4Runner. He was informative, quick, and very helpful. Saved me money by not installing something I didnt need.
Pick another location to get your truck, they overcharge for mileage here. Either they misread the out mileage on purpose, or the odometer is messed with, but we tracked our (very, very short and close) trip exactly and even with estimating up by two whole miles, we would have only gone 15 miles. They charged us 28 miles. Total BS. Called them back after we mapped out the route again and they just said, “No, it’s right.” I rent multiple trucks here each summer for work events, and I will NEVER go here again.
They adjusted my reservation multiple times with no problems. Always friendly and plenty of options to store or move your items.
The “manager” at this location was argumentative and disrespectful. I cancelled my reservation simply because of his terrible attitude.
Clean. Efficient. Felt better about my Kia after two days driving a 17ft truck.
All I gotta say is dont count on these people. They totally screwed me over and left me with no car for my family. Needed a car dolly and my mom paid for it but they refused to release to my husband so we can pick up our broke down car in Sandy. My husband is disabled and unable to walk, but was trying to get our car to bring home to fix. I hope yall lose business because you SUCK
If you are looking for a positive experience, please dont go to the NE Sandy Blvd. location. After being belittled and verbally accosted by the manager and getting nowhere towards a solution, I called customer service and hope someone in the company deals with this person. I will not do business with U-Haul for the foreseeable future.
I ordered a hitch for my car and it took far longer than expected to get it but when they did the ended up not charging me anything other than the 23 dollar deposit I had originally put down on it. Awesome staff
Been on hold for over 3 hours. Paid for moving supplies never got delivered. No help. Horrible service. They don’t answer their phones. Long hold times. Still on hold with call center - no answer at the physical location. We cancelled our truck order.
I paid over 650 dollars to install a Trailer Hitch for My BMW X5, when I went home, i noticed one hole to put pin to lock the trailer is too small, and every time I open the tailgate, the bottom of the tailgate is hitting the bumper, I came back to Uhaul to ask installer to fix the issue, and he told me all the clips on the bumper have been reclicked correctly now,but when I asked about the hole on the hitch issue, he forgot to drill it again, it means he failed 2 times for his job, the first time he did not checked the job when done that requires for company, the second he did not double checked on his job, yesterday when I opened the tailegate, the tailgate hits again on the bumper, I came back for the third time, and he denied to fix the problem, and he told me my rear bumper get hit by some one, all the clips are broken, then I come to mechanic BMW certified to ask about the issue, they told me because the bumper installed incorrectly, then every time I open the tailgate, it stress the plastic and break all clips,I did not check electrical yet hopefully it is working, it is a painful experience, Uhaul was my favorite store, but now it is not anymore... FYI
I was rented a truck with a leaky bed. Now everything that was on the floor is ruined. Boxes destroyed, wood ruined, and clothing is soaked.
This you all was very helpful Im getting in the truck at the last minute 4 movie I definitely would recommend them
Service here has been great. Lots of boxes, decent prices, and a clean workplace.
Rent all the time from these guys. The manager is a really nice guy and theyre always professional!
Products and prices are okay, Ive never had a problem with a u-haul truck. What drives me nuts is waiting for hours in line and on hold trying to get help; they always seem understaffeIts also kind of annoying that theyre constantly trying to up-sell you stuff you dont need.I called today and was on hold for several minutes. When I finally got through to someone, she hung up. I called back and was on hold several more minutes. the phone rang and went dead immediately.
GMC cargo van exceeds my expectations, girl at counter very nice
Tl;drPlease dont visit this shop to have any wiring done to your vehicle or trailer. The technicians do not take pride in their work and it causes you more work down the road. Take it somewhere else.Just purchased a new horse trailer and decided to have Uhaul set up a 7way trailer connection and brake controller since the trailer has electric brakes. Had them install it and we tested, everything looked fine. After we picked up the trailer, tested again and it was working. Halfway through the haul back, the brake controller gave us a Short and Overload error message as we approached a downhill intersection that caused us to coast through a red light because I could not stop in time due to the trailer brakes being out. Took time off of work to have it looked at by a third party who told me that Uhaul mounted the brake controller in the wrong spot in the cab dashboard, as well as the 7 way mount in the back.Took it back to Uhaul and the GM, Cody, couldnt be concerned with the fact that they messed up and people could have been hurt as a result. They discovered corrosion on the stock cable and charged me to replace the wire (it should have been caught the first time they installed it). Hoping that was the issue, took the truck home and tested the trailer - same issue. At this point, Im not happy Ive had to take off from work and my weekend to have this resolved. Drive the truck and trailer back to Uhaul and the first thing the technician, Chris, says to me is, Whatd you do to break it this time? Completely arrogant SoB.2 hours later, they could not discover what was going on and gave up - effectively terminating any business I will ever have with Uhaul. I will never recommend Uhaul to anyone and will advise them against it if they bring it up.To top it off, I called the marketing agency that managed this location and asked to speak with the marketing director who apparently manages this location. After speaking with a nice customer service lady whose name was nalia or tatia or something along those lines, she told me that the marketing director would call me on Monday since it was the weekend. Never received a call back from her.Uhaul needs to rediscover the meaning of customer service and quality work.
I made an online purchase to have a hitch installed on my Honda the next day. Per the online instructions, I was expecting a call to schedule the actual time. No call came. At 6PM I called and got what seemed to be the main switchboard. I was told my appt was at 7AM. I said that I never got a call and that time would not work for me. The store manager then called me back and seemed like he was juggling a tight schedule so I said I was in no hurry, I could come in the next week or even the week after, but he offered a 3PM appt time the next day and assured me it wouldnt take more than 45 mins (which I assumed meant an hour). Today I showed up 15 mins before my appt and I have waited patiently for over an hour, at which point I asked how much longer. And I was told they hadnt even started it yet. So I am still sitting here trying to decide if leaving now and having to return makes more sense than waiting longer...but in the meantime, I have time to write this review.
Staff was helpful in picking out what I needed
Don’t get your rentals here! The out mileage was written down wrong and they over charged our mileage ripping us off. Call customer service and didn’t help at all.
Friendly and helpful service from Cody.
They are the worst U-Haul ever. Scammers
Employees are rude.
I called the rent me a trailer to haul my motorcycle to Washougal Washington and unfortunately everything in town isnt in town Id have to bring it back they want me to travel 20 miles over the Vancouver to find a trailer theres no way this is terrible customer service
Great service and awesome attitude.
Been shopping here for 23 years. Not the best selection of organic but it has all the basics at a great price.
Great place and friendly staff this place is great
These guys are super nice!
Great. Customer service! :-)
They overcharged me for gas. I refilled, took a picture of tank when I dropped it off and then was charged with fuel. Would not let me dispute.
Nope. Wont do business with them again..
Buy boxes and stuff to move.
Will organized
Passive aggressive liars
