I have so much gratitude to Mel, Darlene, Monica, and Will for all of their assistance and kindness during a very stressful move. They hooked me up with the PERFECT storage unit that I needed from Nov 2020 - Jan 2021! I was happy to see how clean the units are kept. It was a true pleasure seeing their wonderful faces each and every trip. During all of the challenging family health issues I was experiencing, they always took the time to show genuine care and concern. Their customer service is top notch! I will not hesitate to go back to Downtown Self Storage for any future storage needs.

One of the best storage places I have ever used this is the only storage place I would recommend+the people that run it are very nice & outgoing.

I am a fairly new tenant for about 5 months now. Everything has been pretty up to par with expectations. The original set-up process took a little longer than normal as they had recently transitioned systems, so it was all new. Storage facility is clean and maintained.The only huge sticking point was no flexibility with their late fee being 1 day late, having issues with getting into the website, and being furloughed, which means no steady income, and doing the best during the circumstances to pay on time, and not get behind, like so many other individuals are having to work through. No consideration for any of the factors. Since the company website wasnt having any issues, my issue with logging in wasnt taken into factor. I understand during these times, business is business. Being a family business, I would have hoped for a little more consideration in waiving the fee as a one-time consideration, as the monthly payment was all I had today, again 1 day late. Feeling disappointed, and will likely be looking for other storage space facilities.

Downtown Self Storage is the absolute best storage unit facility! I have been using them for years for different situations and so has my family. Hands down, it is the cleanest and most convenient! Also the security! I have rented fromother rental places in past but now will only go with DSS!

Good location, with easy access to public transit and convenient loading docks for cars and trucks. Price is reasonable and security seems good - access is recorded and fire safety systems cover all storage units and public spaces. Hours are a bit limited, but service is fast an friendly.

Hours can be a bit limited but didnt find much better anywhere also around Portland especially when factoring in drive time, similar with their rates when convenience and insurance is factored in it became more cost effective here (within walking distance). I have always had great customer service experience with them. The facilities are whats expected for a downtown storage building.

I have had a storage unit for almost a year now. I use it for business purposes and have to get things in and out about once a month. There is such a friendly staff with 2 managers full time managers and someone on duty, all hours, all days. The inside loading docks are key to getting my belongings in and out, dry, easy and safe. And, the location is super central to everything! This place is also very clean and makes storing easy.

Great customer service. Love that there is an on-site manager at all times. The facility is very nice and clean. It has easy access for loading and unloading. I recommend it!!

Clean facility but parking is hard. You have to pull into the bay which is usually loaded with another car or two. Elevator is fairly slow. Ive learned if I need storage again, it will only be ground level from now on.

This storage unit has really terrible hours making it next to impossible to get your things out when you need them if you don’t have time to go during the day. It’s like buying a house to rent a space from them, and they have ridiculous steps in the process. The man running the place is terrible with customer service and is a complete control freak. There are so many options available in portland - go somewhere else!

Clean, dry, well managed storage. If you have a small apartment, it is so handy just a few blocks to store extra stuff, and off season clothing,etc

There is a button to push to get in, but when in a wheelchair you have to grow and extended arm to get it as you cannot get close enough because of a slant in the sidewalk and the button Id way too high. Have to hurt yourself for that button
