Visited Johns shop today. Great experience all around. First, he inspected my bike and made suggestions on needed repairs and others that we could do in the future. He gave me a cost for each and after I decided what to get done, he did the repairs then and there while I waited. I dont think youll find better pricing anywhere and the work appears to be well done. I would definitely recommend John and his shop.

Hands down the easiest and most enjoyable service I’ve ever received. No joke. From start to finish this should be the model of customer service. John, the owner diagnoses the bike in front of you and is very kind in explaining the issues and possible solutions. He’s quick to answer your texts/calls. At first I was a little off guard since his business is in a storage unit complex, but it’s actually a really cool feel inside his shop and he’s very efficient. I brought him 5 bikes total which I thought might be a lot for one person, but within 30 mins he had a diagnosis for all of them as well as a price to get them back in shape. I chose to go through with 2 bike services and get this within the next day I got a text from him saying the bikes were finished. Easy as that. Prices were fair and everything he did seemed very honest. 5 stars cause he really knows what he’s doing and does it well. I struggle writing this, because of my selfishness in not wanting to let this gem out into the world. If you think that a professional level of service is only acquired at name brand shops, then maybe its time to expand your thinking. John gives a professional level of service that, because of his low overhead, doesnt get in your wallet like those bigger shoppes do. John also doesnt have to upsellI you to a new bike that you really dont need or can afford. It is purely high quality work at a budget price. I kick myself when I think about how much $$ Ive spent at some of these shoppes in town, when Johns was here the whole time. I accidentally found John today - I was near his shop and looking for a place to have an expert check out a bike that had been donated to our charitable organization. John told me to bring it on it and, when I explained to him to the details of the donation and where the bike was going, he got to work on a tune up right then. He also speak Spanish - and so Spanish-speaking bike riders have someone they can go to, depend on, and trust for great, high-quality service. A MAN WHO OPERATES WITH COMPLETE INTEGRITY!!!I purchased a used bike via LetGo app I’m which after a few uses the derailleur broke. I looked online for a reputable but not expensive repair shop to get it fixed when I found Mr. John’s shop. After checking the reviews I decided to give him a shot. After telling him the issue, not only did he give me a quote for the repair which was very reasonable but he also inspected the bike for further issues. Upon his review, he discovered several internal issues that indicated the bike had been in a front-end collision that was not properly repaired and could potentially cause bodily harm to myself. I asked him how much to completely repair the bike and GRACIOUSLY REFUSED TO TALK MY MONEY saying that in his professional opinion it was merely not worth me spending the extra money to fix it. THAT SPOKE VOLUMES (to me)!! This man could’ve simply gave me a quote and if I agreed could’ve fixed the bike knowing that it would still have issues. My apologies for the long review but I want it to be perfectly clear the type of person that Mr. John is and the level of professionalism that he gives. With that said, I WOULD RECOMMEND HIS SERVICE TO ANYONE IN NEED OF HIGH QUALITY BIKE REPAIR!!

I cannot recommend John enough. He is clearly an expert in his field but takes joy in sharing this knowledge with customers. Its great to learn as he works on your repairs. I took my bike in for repair in November to get it fixed. John was transparent with the necessary repairs and pricing, all of which are offered at an extremely reasonable rate.Additionally, John guarantees all of his work for 90 days. On his own accord, John reached out to me 60 days after the initial repairs to offer a follow-on inspection free of charge. I took him up on this offer where he offered several minor tweaks. I was most surprised with the extremely thorough cleaning he administered to my bike (which I did not expect!). He took the time to hose down my bike, remove the tires for cleaning, cleaned the brake pads, and scrubbed the frame of mud from some earlier muddy riding on the Greenway Trail. Again, all of these follow-on services, including the cleaning, were provided free of charge. I would encourage everyone to visit John for your repair needs!

Before taking my daughter’s bike to John my husband and I worked on it and damaged it pretty badly in the process. We stripped a bolt that would have required us to either have the whole crank replaced or just get a new bike. John was able to repair it as I requested using the existing crank with its damaged bolt but refused to accept any payment since there’s a possibility the fix will not hold permanently. I am so impressed with his work and his character. He refused to be paid for a bike that left his shop in less than perfect condition even though the mistake was ours.

I brought to bikes to John after I had tried to put them together (and failed). He got both of them up and running by the afternoon, just in time for the bike ride I’d promised my kid. First experience with John today and what a pleasure it was. Texted him on a Sunday morning and he said come on over, as I needed to fix a puncture. He examined the bike and found the problem, a small spike/tack in the tire, rather than just replacing the tube and having it happen again. He also saw that brake pads were worn and wheel out of alignment, so got those sorted too. Price was fantastic and transparent and we were out of there in 20-30mims or so. Great explanation of what he was doing and got to watch a professional at work. Highly recommend him to the Raleigh bike community.

Im not typically one to write reviews, but wow is John bicycles awesome! I bought a used bike less than a week ago and had some trouble with the brakes; then it was rattling as I pedaled. I took it in, John looked over it, told me what was wrong and what he would do and how much itd cost (very affordable, and thats coming from a college student on a budget!). Hes passionate and awesome at what he does. About 30 minutes after I arrived I was riding back home with all new shifters, brakes, cables, and truing on both wheels, and new handlebar covers. Its like a new bike entirely; Ill definitely be coming back for future bike service here.

Brought my Santa Cruz Heckler to John for a tune-up. The bike sat for at least a couple years, sadly. Over that time the front brakes locked up and my thumb shifters stopped working. I was fully prepared to pay something beyond the typical tune-up charge and perhaps even need to purchase new parts; however, within 24 hours, John had everything working properly and the bike fully tuned up. Outstanding work and, as importantly, a honest interaction. Cant recommend enough!

What a great experience with John! Most bike shops were at least 2 weeks out for a tune up. John made time for me right away. Not only did he get me in fast, he serviced the bike on the spot. When my lower bracket bearings started to go, again he got me right in and was able to service my bike immediately. He is open 7 days a week to ensure he is there for his customers. It’s hard to find dedication like that. His prices are great and he won’t overcharge you or try to sell a service that your bike doesn’t need. I will continue to go to his shop for all my bike needs.

He took me right away, fixed my brake handle, then changed my other one so they would match. Then he adjusted a brake pad I didnt even know was not aligned properly. All for the initial price. Ill be back.

The shop is in storage facility but you would never know once your inside. It’s the coolest little shop and even has a cockatoo to say hey too! Air conditioned and so professional. He has everything you need and was so nice and accommodating. Met me same day I reached out. Messaged around 12, met around 2. I told him the issues and then He Talked me through everything that he needed to do and told me the prices up front. He even helped me notice how scrubbed the brake pads were and straightened my tire for me! Best prices i found when I looked at the big stores and other repairs shops around. I called John to see if he would be able to figure out what was going on with my brakes and dropper post and he told me to swing by that morning. Twenty minutes later I was in his shop and he was inspecting my bike. Ten minutes after that I was out the door with my bike back to normal. Turns out it was a pretty easy fix (for him). I bought a new MTB from Amazon recently and had done the setup myself and eded up damaging the front derailleur. I was so desperate to get it fixed as soon as possible and most of the local bike shops would take 3-4 weeks to repair. I got John’s contact from my friend and went to his shop. John fixed the derailleur and also fixed all the gear and chain tunings with-in 40 minutes.John also educated me about the gear usage and also how to set the right tunings. That was so great of John. And he is very reasonable with the labour cost. This will be my go to place and I will also encourage my friends to go to John.

After waiting weeks for the Thule Yepp Mini (front mount child seat) to arrive. I sent my bike to John. He took his work seriously, knowing that a 18 month baby is riding along. He showed me my stretched chain and sold me a better one for a great price. He replaced the cassette, checked the brake system and installed the child seat mount tight. I had a great experience when I took my bike to John for a tune-up, wheel truing, and chain replacement. He did the maintenance work quickly and replaced the chain for a very reasonable price. The rear cassette had 3 years of wear, so after the new chain was put on, the cassette was skipping gears. John advised me exactly what kind of cassette to buy and showed me where to buy it for the lowest price. (He didnt try to sell me one himself.) I purchased the new cassette, and when I brought it in, he installed it for free. The bike is still riding smoothly a month later. (On a side note - I brought my 4 year old daughter with me to drop off the bike, and she was delighted to meet Johns pet cockatoo.) All around, an outstanding experience.

John took us in today (2 days before Christmas) after our attempt at building our son’s new bike went sideways (whoever said “easy assembly” must be an engineer). He fixed several issues that we hadn’t even discussed (at no additional charge!), and walked us through everything he did so we knew why he did it. I rarely give 5 stars, but this guy earned 10. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable, and it was 100% worth having a pro fix the bike so my son won’t go flying through our garage doors due to faulty brakes or something. I’m sending my husband over next with his bike, and plan to recommend John to all my friends.

I purchased my bike from John in March of this year. I got a really good deal on a really good bike and John is very good at what he does. He is very professional and seems to know all there is to know about bicycles. I am a runner and not a biker so I am new to this and he explained how everything works and how I should take care of the bike. Since then I have been back to see him twice the last time because I was in a crash and I wanted him to check out the bike which he did completely going over the gears and the brakes and washing the bike making sure everything was working properly.I highly recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a new bike or even to have a tuneup of their existing bike
