My car is currently being fixed as I write this review. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to bring my car. Something has been wrong with it since I bought it and no places could diagnose it let alone fix it. I brought my car here and within 45 minutes I knew what was wrong what had to be fixed and how much it would be. The owner James was amazing and helped me apply for a loan to cover the repairs. He also helped me out without getting home since I didn’t plan on being there for so long. Definitely will be using them for all of my future needs with my car.

Recently sent my Silverado for a dreaded transmission repair.James and his employees were very see through about everything they did to my truck while it was in their care. It is pricey but that’s expected for any major repair. I definitely will be coming back for future service.

They were honest, patient and extremely helpful. I would recommend them to anyone for excellent customer service and auto repair/inspection.

I took my 2002 Toyota to this place of business without knowing what kind of experience I was going to have. I needed my car inspected and waited til the last week of the month with only days to spare to call. I was grateful for being squeezed in for an appointment and also for the cheerful and kind telephone experience. From the beginning a challenge started because of the check engine light. It had been on for an entire year ever since I bought the car from a used car lot in Birdsboro. I brought it back 3 times, each time the light would be off with a different explanation (if any) and come back on within a week or two.To make a long story shorter, James and Jochua and crew did their best to explain things to me, never charging me for first two visits, and when ultimately discovering the issue, inspected my vehicle and for an amazingly low price I received both stickers and drove away a very happy customer!I will continue to use Aamco as my new car mechanics and yearly inspection site. They were honest, friendly, professional and patient. I highly recommend them to anyone new to the area or looking for a refreshing experience when dealing with any car repairs. This has been the absolute WORST car experience I’ve ever had. My car has been at this shop for over a month and I have now returned my car to this shop over 5 times and there is STILL issues with my vehicle. They claimed to fix two things that went wrong again within a weeks time span and then charged me again because they “missed” something. I now have problems with my car that I did not even have prior to bringing my car to them. I would tell anyone DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!

Worst ever place to get car inspection. I am giving this 1 star as there are no option of further worst reviews. I went to this place for inspection, i dont know why they had to drive my car on road to do inspection. Then they came up with answer that my car failed safty due to tyres issue. I had my regular maintenance with Honda about 2 minths ago and there was no issue how come tyres damaged? I tried to tell but no answer and i was charged. 2 days later i went to Honda and inspection passed. Who is wrong? They just tried to make money? I am not aware if they have to drive my car or look into fuel tank to do inspection thats what guy over there was doing. Never ever recommend this place. Beaware of this scam

My daughter is a college student living on her own in Reading. She has had car issues twice and AAMCO has taken excellent care of her both times. It is so nice to know that she has somewhere reliable and trustworthy to take her car when she is not home. I would highly recommend AAMCO for your car needs.

James and Izzy are fantastic and have helped me with many different issues, with several of our vehicles, through the years. They are upfront, and always try to figure out the best, and most economical approach to fixing our cars. They have literally kept a few of our cars running much longer than I thought possible, which saved us a lot of money and time over the years. We tend to drive cars to very high mileages, and it is critical to have people you can trust working on them, especially when normal wear and tear starts taking its toll on many different parts of cars over many years and miles. This Aamco location is excellent.

So I’ll start by saying this place is professional and the front desk guy wasn’t so bad. However, they are true scam artist. When I spoke with the front desk guy I explained to him my problem with my car and if they can run me a diagnostic. I explained how my last mechanic Had taken advantage of me and I need somewhere new. He told he that they would take care of me. I drop it off and 6 hours later my car wasn’t ready. Then I called him and he said in order to truly diagnose the problem they had to pick apart my transmission because my transmission was slipping and I most likely need a new one... I asked for my options. He told me that it would be up to $4,000 to rebuild it and if I were interested that I could apply to finance my repairs! Devastated by the news I told him I would call back. I looked into other alternatives from other Chevy owners and most recommended to switch out. I called him back with that option and he said the cost of that would $1,800 I asked why he didn’t recommend that from the beginning, I didn’t even mention that they kept my car over night til the next afternoon and never even called me to come get it! So after I pick up my car never once did he tell me I needed any kinds of fluid but he ran a diagnostic and a check over my car. When I went to another mechanic it was a simple fix. Literally $160! A loose line. Now tell me how in the world do you not see a simple fix and yet your charging an arm and a leg. You’re charging 100 dollars an hour but couldn’t diagnose a small problem and turned it in to a 4000 dollar job. Shame on the company preying on people during a pandemic. Save yourself time and money because after all this they still charged me 105 and couldn’t tell me I need transmission oil!

So long story short my Ridgeline stopped running, had a few friends over to try & figure it out but nobody knew what it was . Got it towed to ammco & they ripped it apart to figure out the issue, unfortunately it was an expensive repair but was a MUST in order to get my truck back running in good condition. Luckily I didn’t have to come out of pocket to get my truck back. James helped me get connected with a loan that would pay for the repairs, all I have to do is make weekly payments which really isn’t much . Thanks to James my truck is running great and I have new tires & didn’t have to dish out $3000 in one day . Greatly appreciate what he did for me .

Started out as a $530 job ended up being 1400 then I had to return it again they overfill the AC compressor causing a brand new $300 AC compressor to burned out in 2 weeks. They are at hacks it started off with one thing and ended up with a whole bunch of other things and in the end it was right back to the beginning

AAMCO provides great and quick service! New to the area and didn’t know where to take my car for a flat tire, took it here and they fixed it so quick at a very reasonable price. I also had issues with another part of my car so I took it here and they again provided great service.

There are not better mechanics around and I would never take my vehicles to any other service or garage. James and his team are not only absolute professionals, but their cost and timeliness of service are second to none. I would give 6 stars if I could, but they get 5. You will not be disappointed.

Izzy and the team are always ready, willing and able to help us, even on short notice. Theyve gotten us out of a few jams with their quick, efficient service when we didnt have a spare car as backup, most recently when starting a new job the next day. You cant find this special combination of professional, polite, honest, affordable and accurate just anywhere. Its obvious that they really do care about your car and your needs.

The entire team is very professional and treats your vehicle as if it’s their own or even a close friend or family member. Saved me over $1,000 compared to what the dealer was going to charge for a VW that needed a new ignition switch. It’s hard to find an honest shop and they definitely exceed all expectations and make a miserable situation easy.

I have had my older Acura into this shop and they performed services that were recommended by the dealer at a fraction of the cost. The manager explained everything before hand and the work authorized was completed before it was promised. Not going anywhere else!

I bought a battery and that company would not install because of covid. Really? So stopped by AAmco and spoke with James. He said no problem and installed it right away. And while the technician was in the trunk getting the new battery, he saw new wipers I had purchased. He put those on also. Talk about service!! Never any problems with all the work Ive had done there. They go above and beyond.

Wish I could give zero stars. Called for an inspection last week. Brought my car in and after 4 hours was told their machine was broken and had to pick up my car. No problem, was told to bring it in today. Dropped my car off at 8am, was called 2 hours later telling me they aren’t sure if something is wrong with their machine again or the car. All I needed was a simple inspection. Will not be coming back here. Terrible. Parking situation in lot is terrible also.

Took my vehicle to Aamco of Reading thinking I would have my transmission checked for free and would have to wait a while because I didnt have much money. I have taken my vehicles here for years! They have offered to drive my car back to my home or office and their pricing is much better than going to dealerships. Their keen eye even found a problem, which GMC said was not a problem, well a FULL YEAR LATER it was a manufacturer recall for the same thing they found! Their team is professional and always go beyond what is expected. I will continue to use them for all of my cars and I highly recommend!!

Very Happy with the work that James and the crew did with my Jeep. From the drop off to the pick up James kept me up to date on everything it needed and what to expect from the warranty company involved. Ultimately the repairs were completed in the time frame told upfront and within the budget allocated.After I took it back for the re-check they did my State Inspection and Oil Change which was inline with those around here and it needed minimal repairs to make it safe for me and my family.

Im writing this review a few years after I had work done here. The experience was so bad that it has stuck with me and I was talking about it with some friends. I had a coolant leak, you could see the coolant leaking from the hose/fitting. They replaced the radiator and said it was good to go. Was driving in Philadelphia a few weeks later and the car overheated again. I saw coolant leaking from same exact spot. When I called, the manager said they were not responsible and if I had it towed to another Aamco in Philly that they were not affiliated.

Got my water pump replaced Great service. Great people great timing only thing i didnt like is that its a little expensive but i guess its worth it if its done on time and done Wright

The only two things I can say positive about this place is that they were able to get my car in immediately and they offered financing for the overpriced work they told me I needed. If youre short on cash and have an emergency, theyll get you back on the road. But I would recommend anywhere else.

Very professional and knowledgeable. Took my brand new 2019 Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor for inspection and they knew what they were doing. If youre a Tesla owner no need to be concerned about someone messing up your car, these guys are pros.

Always had a decent experience there that is till today. Took my work van there basically gave it a tuneup well Cap and rotor for $500. Now you would think for $500 they can put your van back together correctly.ha The doghouse that covers the engine was only half on and backwards two of my vents were down inside my dashboard. You would also think for $500 there wouldn’t be a huge dent in your back door but you would be wrong . Not that my vans anything special but that’s not the point. Pushed out in a second so whoever did it was too incompetent or just too lazy to even make an attempt to fix it. Now I know going back and complaining is going to get me nowhere just hope this review keep somebody from making the same mistake I did. find another by Garage it’s Certainly not worth it.Thought I found a good garage definitely very disappointing

Incomplete Jobs and Incompetent Management.I missed an international flight because of these guys. How? I changed oil with them on a Saturday and was going to the airport on a Sunday.The Oil filter wasnt tightened up so comes the morning and we are ready to go but there is no oil!Anyway going back to them, they were very disrespectful and you get nowhere with them....Find the local decent man...dont go to a franchise

I have an aging car and thanks to James and staff, it will hopefully stay running for a couple more years . Treated like family here, they never “talk down” to me. I would highly recommend this shop. When I thought I was having trouble with my cars transmission, they were incredibly helpful and courteous, especially James. I was seen the same day I called. As it turned out, my cars issue was minor and the transmission was fine. They caught the problem with their free check, which was truly free. Whenever I next need servicing or inspection for my car, I will be giving them a call. Plus the waiting area was clean, well stocked with things to read, and the kids artwork on the walls was nice touch. Great experience and great place!

I always go to Aamco for everything. And they know me! Its a smaller place so you feel at home. I have had an array of work done to my car, and I have never had a problem. They are simply the best! When I first moved to PA I didn’t know where to go for car repairs and I felt like most places were way overpriced. I first found aamco when I was looking for a place to get my car inspected and went there because they had the best deal and were able to get me in quickly. I’ve been going there ever since! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. They have worked with me to save money countless times which I greatly appreciate. When I needed new brakes and then a new tire they actually showed me what was wrong with both and explained what was wrong and how they were going to fix it. I’ve never had a repair shop do that before. I trust everyone here with my car and I highly recommend them to everyone!

I took my Toyota Camry for state inspection.Manager was very helpful, pleasant and courteous.He told me, after 30 minutes, that, I need two rear bulbs, because, they dont lit.I said, Go ahead, then, he came back in 5 minutes, and, said, they were loose, no need to change!,How honest!.I couldnt believe, other wise, I was mentally ready to pay $40 for labor and bulbs.In General, public has negative opinions about repair shops, but not here,AAMCO did a fantastic job.Next day, I took my other Toyota Camry for state inspection.I already told my few friends about great service, and prices are reasonable, too.Thanks you AAMCO!

What a great team of guys. My car was towed in and looked over and I was given a diagnosis of a speed sensor going bad. I was so glad it was a easy fix, me being a woman I couldve been taken advantage of and told I need a whole new transmission. I had bad experiences at other auto shops and these guys at Ammco were honest and upfront. I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of auto repairs. Thanks for your help and fast service.

I had a 97 LeSabre that had been reliable for years and then one day the transmission started slipping. They helped me with finding a towing service to get my car to their facility and provided me with an estimate within days. They did their best to help me with finding a way to cover the cost of repairs. But unfortunately I ended up purchasing another car instead. I would definitely recommend this location to everyone I know and I plan on taking my future cars to them for services not covered by a dealer warranty.

I have a Toyota Truck which clutch seem to be slipping. I first took it to Lee Myles.Without even inspecting the vehicle, mechanic stepped into my truck, pushed my clutch, and said my plate was crushed. He then told me would cost $900+ dollars, for clutch assembly, plate, throw out bearing, and flywheel grind.I then took it to AAMCO. James, the Manager, was very courteous and listen to my problem. The vehicle was put on a lift, and was verified bolts were missing in transmission case.The next day, my truck was back on the road, running better than ever, and costs me only $80.00.The staff at AAMCO on Lancaster Ave is top notch. I plan to service my cars here in the future moving forward. They are honest, no-nonsense, and get the job done !Thanks, James

This is the worst place in town I when to fix my car they send it to another place and that place charge them 80.00 dollars and they charge me 350.00 dollars when they gave me my receive by mistake they gave me both papers. I will not recommend no one in my office to this place.

I have a 1990 Honda Accord that had 3 broken bolts in the automatic transmission that held the lock up solenoid down and it was leaking fluid. I took it straight to AAMCO because of all the awesome reviews I saw on Google+ and it was so close to my house so I figured why not? These guys tapped the bolts out, put new ones in and topped off my leaked fluids in a day and a half. What really shocked me was that I thought the price was going to be outrageous, turned out to be only $200 for parts and labor. AAMCO is definitely worth going to if you have any kind of transmission problems, theyre inexpensive, honest and trustworthy and very efficient. If anything else happens to my car, Im going to AAMCO before anywhere else.

Im new to PA, so I took my car here for the state inspections. I requested an appointment through the website on Friday, and was able to schedule one for the next day. The drop off was easy and inspections took about an hour.

I highly recommend AAMCO to anyone. I have been taking all of my cars there for years and have found them to be highly professional and capable. The shop manager James is courteous and knowledgeable and always answers my questions.

I did my Dodge Caravan transmission replacement more than a year here. The oem transmission still work like new. This place does quality work on auto transmission.

As always these guys took care of my car even though it was giving them a problem. I have an older vehicle and they always fix any problems and treat me well, letting me know up front the cost and time needed.

I would say it was a just an easy, fast way to get my car inspected. I actually just walked in and spoke to the man behind the desk and got my car inspected in about an hour for 70 bucks. Nothing exciting, but good service and no complaints

Had great service and had my transmission rebuilt here. They even did the updates that I didnt even know they could. It drives better then when I first bought it.

AAMCO has great service! The crew their are very friendly to. Isnarso is a pretty nice guy that help me out with what I needed. I have taken my car their for breaks and tires and they got it done fast. I also took it their because my shift nob was broken and they got it done the same day.The pricing is excellent to compare to other garages. I am new to the Shillington area and when my car overheated unexpectedly on a Friday night and barely made it home, I knew I would need to get it towed to a shop in the morning. I had seen many great reviews for AAMCO, Reading and even though it was just down the street from my house, I wasnt sure they would be able to take care of my radiator needs. When I called the next morning, Izzy assured me they were an all-service shop and that I would be in good hands. My car sustained some damage from the tow, which made the experience more stressful at first. Izzy and James provided excellent customer service with continuos help and updates. James explained in detail, all that was needed to get my car back into shape and went above and beyond helping me deal with the tow damage as well, and I didnt have to do a thing! They were able to take care of everything for me in a reasonable time and for an affordable price. For a first time AAMCO experience, I would say this service was by far top notch, one of the best service experiences Ive had in the 12 years Ive owned this car and will definitely be returning for all my future car service needs. Aamco 19607 always does an awesome job! They get me in and out as quickly as possible, which is huge for me. I take my car there for all service (Major/Minor, Oil, and Standard Maintenance) and have not been disappointed yet. Keep up the good work.

Ready to charge $530 to replace my sway bars. I ordered same parts for $55 and played $80 to get them fixed. Not returning!

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL, and I wouldnt give them any stars! We brought our van in because it was having transmission trouble. It sat in their parking lot for 5 days, with no work done to it. They were horrible at communication, we had to contact them. We called to ask what was going on several times, no one could give us a straight answer. Then they said they couldnt get it started, and that is why they couldnt work on it. After five days of terrible communication, and no straight answer, we went to pick up our car. It started right away just fine, and all the manager could give us were excuses. NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE-this place is terrible, poorly run, and not trustworthy! After our mess with AAMCO, we drove it to Kings Auto and they have already solved the problem, communicated it and well be able to pick it up tomorrow.
