Love this place! Its my favorite coffee shop in Redmond. Coffee and desserts always taste amazing, great service, and I enjoy the atmosphere whether getting work done or catching up with a friend. They have some outdoor seating as well which is a nice option during COVID.
UPDATE: Ok I’ve been to this place many times now and 90% of the time, their latte is the best. But sometimes, especially when they are busy, it is one of the worst. At their worst, it tastes like the milk is over heated and not frothy at all. Wish it could be more consistent :(Best latte I’ve ever had in my life. Service is always super friendly. Love this place.
My favorite coffee place in the Seattle/Greater Seattle area. The staff is extremely friendly and co-operative. The space is cozy for long reads or even for working on assignments. Having said that, the space is also peppy enough to hangout with friends over a coffee (and a scone may be?).I always order a Romeo - thats dark chocolate and raspberry mocha. I absolutely love it. If youre a white chocoholic, you may want to try the Juliet.Their food menu, although limited, is very tasty. If you are in the area, this coffee place is a must try!
Favorite cafe in Redmond. Good coffee, friendly staff. The coffee cake is particularly good.
River Trail is my favorite café in Redmond. Great vibe, spacious with plenty of comfortable seating plus really good coffee!
This place is amazing and one of my fist stops when I visit Washington. Love everything about this place. The coffee is full of flavor and I cant ever get enough. LolMy favorite is lavender and honey. The coffee is absolutely amazing its robust but very smooth. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Dont forget the food.
The baristas are extremely friendly, the coffee is good and strong, and there are many alternative milk options. Ambience is nice, good place to work or meet friends. Food selection not exciting
Super patient and friendly staff! Great pumpkin latte too!
River Trail Roasters is great! We love riding on the trail and stopping here for a coffee and a treat. The staff are very friendly and well masked. We stopped in today and were greeted warmly. We ate outside and marvelled at how nice it was that everything seemed normal again, if just for that visit. What a great relief that River Trail Roasters is open for business! You made our day.Thank you!+
They make some utmost tasty homemade quiche that I love to get out of the house for. Theres quite an array of unique teas I like to drink. I am not a coffee drinker, but I know they have an on-site industrial roaster and sell bulk bags to take home.
Great local coffee house. For several years, I’ve received consistently good service and coffee here. Very friendly staff.
The drip coffee seems weaker and the prices are higher. There was what seemed maybe to be an over-roasted flavor to it that wasnt good. Ill try again and reevaluate in a few weeks.
This is a really comfortable shop, with quality coffee and a variety of seating. They have room for groups, lots of individual spots for working alone, and really friendly baristas. River Trail came recommended from another barista who called it a must-see, and I completely agree. I got a cappuccino that was super tasty and smooth. Overall, it’s a great spot to camp out for an hour or two.
Checked this place out because we are always looking for a new favorite spot. Everyone in the family agreed that the food was tasty (spinach & provolone quiche, sausage egg & cheese sandwich, poppy seed muffin). Cashier met reasonable expectations for hospitality. Environs are worn, but nice. The reason we wont be back is the drink quality. We ordered a cold brew which was bitter as Hades, indicating very clearly that the coffee was hot brewed, then chilled. What this business doesnt realize, is that while its much easier to make cold brew this way (15 minutes vs 12 hours brewing time), you are lying to your customers and undercutting your own integrity. You got my $4 through your deception, but you will never have my respect.
Love that they have vietnamese coffee!
Lovely coffee shop. We love buying their house roasted beans.
Fantastic coffee, tasty breakfast, friendly staff, spacious & spotless cafe - this is my go-to coffee shop whenever Im in the area.
The smell of freshly roasting beans waft through the building while you sit and drink delicious coffee and eat the tempting treats.
Very cute! Coffee was delicious and had lovely latte art. Seems like a place to come do homework or hang out. They’ve got board games for use. Staff was very kind and helpful. Definitely will be back
Wonderful coffee, staff is warm and welcoming, environment is relaxing. Grab a coffee to go or sit down and enjoy one, youll be served in a real mug if you stay in. Beats any Starbucks hands down.Prices are a little high, but thats probably just because of the location.Edit: Have stopped in quite a few times since the original review (above). This place always impresses. Bumped up to 5*
Kicked out for no mask when customers all had mask off, makes no logical sense and is insulting!
I got the Olympics dark roast and the Mexican medium. Using the Olympics as espresso and I have a few opinions: the roast is very very dark, not my preference so I cannot complain about that, but the roast was inconsistent. Bean roast is visually inconsistent and I had to continually re-dial in which was unfortunate. The Mexican medium is also very dark for a medium. I was recommended this for a lighter medium for pour over so Im surprised when I open it and found very oily beans. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. It will not be my go-to for beans though as consistency is important to me. If others havent had the issue, and Im an outlier, please comment so.
Now that Jake is working here, the coffee has gotten way better and the vibe is excellent. I’m very happy to get my coffee here again and support local.
Good coffee, but dont bother going on a Saturday morning. One group takes up nearly every table in the place. My small group has been meeting there for years and we can no longer find space because of a group that takes 15+ chairs and stays around for hours. Some of them even bring in Starbucks.
One of the best coffee Ive tasted. Employees are very friendly and attentive. Theres few people ahead of me and I didnt have to wait too long for our coffees to be made. Definitely will come back.
We use the coffee bean from here. Its aroma is incredible.
Great coffee with a good selection of pastries in a welcoming atmosphere. Great place to hang out and get some work done. Love the specialty drinks and great service. Even during Derby Days when they are super busy, these guys work hard to make sure they keep the quality high.
I like the healthy options at this Cafe. Great service. . Reasonable prices. Great location.
The 4.6 rating is too high, I give my 2 stars. Have you Google reviewers ever drunk good coffee? I ordered cappuccino and latte, both were just so-so, if not awful. The environment is cozy and the Batista is nice, thats it. It is not a place for real coffee lovers.
This is a great place to grab a coffee and a baked good (I recommend the Lord Mocha and spinach and cheese croissant). They also have a relatively large selection of teasIt is also a great place to work on laptops or read a book. There is a large community events bulletin board, and rotating works of art available for purchase. There is always something interesting to look at while you wait for your tea latte.
Good atmosphere, prices are not horribly high. I just wish their drinks and pastries were better. They are not necessarily bad, just not my most favorite. Good service.
Good coffee. Not burnt, very evenly flavored. The latte-types are pleasing to the eye, although I havent had one to taste. The staff is friendly and efficient at processing orders. Seating is comfy and the place is fairly well laid out. Its well situated downtown accross from the library making it a nice after reading (or before) place to get peppy.
They make pretty much everything here themselves. This is my wifes new favorite coffee in Redmond! Its about 2m from the Sammamish River Trail. There is a 3/4 covered patio out front with 3~4 tables and a water dish for dogs.Parking? Your best bet is across the street by City Hall & the Library.
Cute place to spend an afternoon working. The WiFi is fast and although its fairly busy there was plenty of space to spread out. The latte I enjoyed was amazing, but I was disappointed with the avocado toast, I ordered it with an egg and the egg appeared to be a pre-packaged breakfast sandwich egg, which was disappointing and less flavorful than a home cooked egg would be. I didnt try any of their pastries but those looked fantastic. The latte I did have was very good!
They often make a mistake with the order. Sometimes the service is a bit rude, dampens the vibe...
Great coffee and place, but the music is not that great (commercial mainstream upbeat pop music). Id rather prefer something more neutral, no voice.Edit: music has improved :D
Bring your dog, cat, best friend and folks. Best coffee shop in the state. Light atmosphere, perfect for work and play. Gluten free pastries, great coffee brews and amazing staff. Several parking locations nearby, fireplace inside, cool artsy set-up including the window room to view the roasting process and right next to major highway, local library, shopping center and given the name...right next to the beautiful Sammamish river trail. If I could give it more stars, I would.
I was referred to this place by a friend, and honestly, everything I was told is true. The staff, and the coffee is top notch. I am a simple man, and usually just get espresso which I didnt know could have a different taste, but apparently it can be even more delicious! They informed me about roasting there own coffee and making all there pastries in house, either way that rocket fuel kept me going all day. Icing on the cake is it tastes good to.
I have loved this place since the first time I stepped in. They have a really good selection of coffee. Ive gotten free coffee a few times because of their point system. And their customer service is wonderful. Plus located next to the river trail means I always get a decent workout right after! Keep up the good work, guys!
Excellent environment where you can actually work. No annoying music which allows you to really talk and enjoy your visit. Excellent coffee and a true gem in the area. 10/10
Nice and cozy place to sit down with laptop. Summers are nice in the covered outside seating. Neighborhood is quiet and parking is plentiful.
Delicious coffee, food, and good prices. If you join their rewards program youre always getting deals! *(bogo, free drinks, half off, etc). Just make sure if you dont want the notifications to turn them off on your phone so you arent bombarded. Parking can be a bit tough, and the closest is only parallel parking. Always people there, which shows with how good everything is.
While a tad more expensive than some other places, this is a clean, modern, and lively establishment. It has a nice drink selection and some alright food, tho makes a lovely place to grab a drink and get a little work done!
I recently discovered this coffee shop in Redmond. I really like the aesthetic--its very exposed wood/industrial, but still cozy. Their coffee is good and they have a lot of unusual coffee combinations (like honey lavender) if sweet coffee is your thing. They have a lot of sales and promotions (like discounts for Seahawks gear on certain days). Be warned, though, their loyalty program (I believe its through a company called Five Stars) will send you lots of texts if you opt in.
One of my favorite coffee stops in Redmond. Comfortable and a great place to study. Prices are a little on the high side but very reasonable for the artisanal, locally roasted coffee. As an added bonus they have a lot of great deals when you join their rewards program.
Great place to meet a friend. Indoor and outdoor seating. Appears to be a busy coffee shop. The honey lavender latte was excellent. Very lightly flavored.
Great menu selection and well made drinks
Great coffee, great staff!!! Spent get any better
I’m updating my review to three stars instead of five. I like the coffee but they keep the temperature way too hot inside! I can barely place my order without sweating in here and the fireplace isn’t even on! I like to find places to study but I could never study here! I’d fall to sleep! I can’t even sit inside and enjoy my cup of coffee because It’s so uncomfortably hot.
Good coffee with good vibes. Fast internet. The place is usually full but its a great place to work because they have comfy seats and lots of tables.
A nice place to get out of the heat and have a drink and pastry. Near the Sammamish River Trail and as a bonus is next door to the Redmond library. A nice location to duck into and relax for a bit. A very nice part of the West Redmond community!
Unfortunately, River Trail has done a nosedive in the past couple of months. When we first started coming to River Trail, every weekend had roughly the same crew of friendly, knowledgeable, customer-service focused people. That really made the place feel welcoming, and the coffee was consistently great. The coffee is now often burnt tasting or otherwise just not great, and if you ask for your drink to be remade, youll likely get an argument about how your taste buds are wrong. The food used to be great, now its all overpriced, prepackaged stuff. That changed months ago, but wasnt enough to put us off the cafe. These days it seems like theyre constantly going through new employees, and they dont seem to stick around long enough to actually learn much about coffee.Overall, definitely still the best physical space of all the cafes in Redmond, but the coffee, food, and service leave much to be desired these days. Id really love to see the team buckle down, re- train, and re- focus.
If you are a tea drinker try the Sunset in Seattle. Good herbal tea is so hard to find!
My new favorite place to get coffee! The atmosphere is warm and inviting like youd want your local coffee shop to be, but its clean, updated, and modern too. Not to mention the staff has been upbeat, friendly and very helpful. The coffee itself is out of this world; roasted to perfection. They make their coffees with the latte flavor to complement the roast, which allows you to actually taste the coffee without a ton of sugar. I honestly didnt know that I even liked coffee up till this point - Starbucks had me thinking that all coffee tasted burnt, no matter the roast. River Trail Roasters has shown me that coffee in and of itself can be delicious.I will be back, and spreading the word!
The interior is nicely designed and the space was clean. They display a gorgeous deidrich roaster behind glass in the next room.It was a shame that there was only one blend of whole bean coffee available on display. It was also a shame that the cold brew was a chalky one-note dark roast. I also got an everything bagel that was chewy. My date didnt fare much better; seeing the display of latte art on the wall, she had hoped for a decent latte. She ordered a lavender latte that was overly sweet and had been mixed after the pour with no presentation on top. Her scone was tasty though! This place has potential but overall a disappointment.
Amazing place! The staff is very nice and friendly. The cafe is very open, bright, and inviting. Coffee is super smooth and strong (something I need every morning!). Free WiFi and ample plugs is a big plus.
Unorganized and extremely slow service. All the orders are written on a big sheet of notebook paper and crossed out as they are made but this is not very effective. The coffee is good but, unfortionately, its often way too (warm) hot inside to even hang out for a while.
Nice cafe with good coffee and tea options. Has a busy atmosphere which is ideal to work out of. Street parking is easy to find. Wish they have more healthy snacks.
One of the best mochas Ive ever had. They have maybe 8 different mocha types, and the barista at the register was happy to explain all of them to me so I could choose. Seating appears to be taken quickly by people who are camping out for a while, but its a cozy place, so I cant blame them. I can see this being a frequent stop when I visit the Redmond library.
On first visit, hearing I couldnt buy coffee beans because they didnt have bags, I was very disappointed. After calling back to discuss options, the staff was very willing to accommodate alternative options. I purchased 12ozs of beans and am very happy with my purchase and their flexibility.
They have good coffee and comfortable benches. Their pastries arent my favorite, but the service is good!
Great coffee! .Love their lord mocha that i found to be quite unique ..too bad that’s off the menu now☹️. Would be nice if they enhanced their bakery offerings and added more variety.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and location! Met here with a friend and enjoyed my time!
The area is nice and atmosphere is decent. The staff arent rude but dont provide the customer first treatment Im used to at most other cafes. I bare a particular gripe with their poorly labeled gluten free baked goods and their failure to acknowledge that I wasnt asking for a GF product.Admittedly, I had a bad first experience out of a handful so you can take this with a grain of salt.
Great place to pick up freshly roasted coffee.
Great service and yummy coffee. But I do have to say... Everytime Ive gone, I end up with a wobbly table. Fix your tables!
Nice selection of coffee. Large drip pours for just over $2. Friendly staff and great atmosphere as others describe.
Great coffee. Great service. It can be a little hard to find seating though.
Awesome coffee shop . Run by a couple of great ladies. Coffee is good and atmosphere relaxing. Fridays can be a little busy and finding a seat can be hard . Internet can also be a bit spotty
Our new favorite place for coffee. Simple and clean selection of muffins, cakes, breads and sandwiches to eat and a great selection of tea and coffee drinks. Great staff.
Not much sit down room when busy. Parking also problematic. The cappuccino was superb, Nutella brioche wasnt bad either. Good place, Id recommend it.
Excellent coffee! Decent room to work with a laptop too. Great environment.
Great coffee, good service. Close to a nice trail to enjoy your beverage on
Very comfortable and quite, great for your morning coffee!
We asked what kind of espresso was being served at the moment and the cashier got extremely flustered. She tried to bluster her way through but she had no info on origin, roast date, or darkness of roast. As a result of her discomfort and stress she messed up both of our orders. I would recommend more training before allowing employees to represent the company.
Nice places. I dont like their chai. So there you have it!
Idk man, I have given this place a lot of chances but I just dont like their coffee. Customer service and environment are great, but I dislike the drip, chai, espresso, and I just dont get it. Everything tastes bland and watered down- like Starbucks. Tbh Soulfood is so much better. They use Harmony Chai and Cafe Lazzo(?) beans that are so delicious and organic. No bias here, I just like strong coffee.
Fun place to hong out there
Stopped in on my commute to work..one of the few places.that makes a.good Cubano that I have found here in the Seattle area.
Excellent drinks and food, great atmosphere and amazing playlists. Its a great place to get work done
Good coffee and a new selection of goodies. Love to sit in front of the fire on a chilly day.
Their coffee is super good and the barista explained the cup sizes to shots ratio. Will return!
Great coffee. Wonderful place to sit.
Outstanding coffee thats roasted on premises. The food, sandwiches, cookies and biscotti are all made fresh daily. Free WiFi for the many business people and students looking to stay productive on their visit.
Nice atmosphere but the espresso was just ok.
Was there for a latte: Relaxed environment, friendly staff. If I had to complain, the latte was a bit too bitter for my taste.
Pretty wide selection if you’re into milk based drinks. There’s a “slow bar” option which is what interested me. They offer pour over and two types of Chemex small or large (3 cup or 6, maybe?). Asked barista for a recommendation for a pour over and she said, “I don’t drink pour over because they’re too time consuming.” Eluding to how my drink would take too much time. She asked if I would like dark or light roast and I believe she gave me an Ethiopia. The pour over was Melitta, but done without much art or thought behind it. Seeing the rest of the shop sipping out of mugs, I asked if I could have one as well. I apologized for the inconvenience I was causing and she replied, “As long as we’re not busy.” Coffee upon tasting is still pretty dark for their light roast. Will not be back.
Great coffee shop. Very cozy, friendly staff and wonderful coffee and light eats.
I really like the atmosphere I really like the customer service . coffee is aight
Interesting flavor. I got honey and lavender latte and was surprise how tasty it was.
Excellent selection of coffee and a peaceful area to relax by the river just around the corner. Definitely will be returning for another orange creamsicle frappachino.
Great coffee, food and a wonderful staff!
A nice coffee shop. A good quiet spot to her some work done.
Im not exactly a coffee connoisseur, but Ive liked everything I ordered so far (especially their mochas). Plus, the environment is really relaxing, the staff is great, and I like their music selection.
Great prices, but even their lighter coffee beans are roasted a bit too dark for my preference. Still go for espresso drinks, but was hoping to find an Eastside roaster doing lightly roasted single-origins.
Really tasty coffee and excellent service! Very popular spot to meet with people.
