In an effort to erase the bad memory of the heavy and greasy croissants and pastries that we bought from the Aeipathy Patisserie in Bothell a few weeks ago, we came to Redmond specifically to the French Bakery. We had our favorite Strawberry Cake, croissants, and Pain de Mie. Everything was light and fluffy and tasty, as they always are every time we have been here. 5 great big stars for the French bakery! Oh, and with everything under $4, that is a real bargain, considering the other bakery charged $5.50 to $6.50 for their inedible baked goods which we actually had to throw away. Thank you, French Bakery, for reminding us what good cakes and pastries should taste like.
Friendly staff, so 5 stars for them. But of youre looking for authentic French pastry and bread. This is not it. The best one in the Seattle area is still, by far, lexperience.Price is considerable cheaper here, on average $4.5ish for a dessert pastry. Which if you take size into the account, its about 4x cheaper than lexperience.Taste-wise, the pear almond tart has no almond taste. The Tiramisu, is very buttery, in fact most dessert pastry is super heavy in butter. The cake layer of the Tiramisu also did not have any marsala or any sort of wine and did not taste any coffee. So Im not sure what makes it a Tiramisu.
Excellent variety of pastries, sweet and salty. Even with the Covid-19 pandemic they strive to have the best and most delicious. They also offer a wide variety of coffee and tea products, bread, panini sandwiches, and cakes. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Service is very friendly. Support our Small Businesses!
Friendly staff & delicious pastries :) YummMeg says the danish was delicious but a bit more cheese filling would have made it exceptional. The creme-brulee was unlike any I have every enjoyed preciously, very rich with egg yoke savory goodness & nice texture, but the crumb base not traditional & the crunchy burnt sugar top was melted & not crunchy, but tasty nonetheless
The crepe I ordered was not freshly made and was not even warmed - the ham inside was cold and the cheese not even melted. The lack of flavor was the least of the problem. After struggling with it for quite awhile I went and returned to the girls behind the counter. They let me choose a pastry to make up for the bad experience. The drink I had was exotic ice tea with lemon. Very sweet and very sour. I ended up throwing it in the trash. And let me tell you - I do not normally return food and do not enjoy putting $18 in the trash.
10/10!!! Oh man. This place is delicious!!! Ordered a turkey club, Nutella pastry and a pineapple turnover. WOW! The sandwich came with a salad and was super delicious. The pastries were to die for. Buttery, flakey and SO flavorful. I will definitely make the trip to go back!
We ordered coffee and a Tiramisu. The dessert was dry and not as expected. We have enjoyed visits before. We will try again.
Ordered their dark chocolate mousse cake for birthday and it was so yumm. Loved it!
The folks at the front desk are rudest ever. They gave us a order number for the table to sit down and then made our order to go. And we waited for half an hour and nobody checked on us. Worst customer service ever. And then they didn’t even offer to make the order fresh after realizing they mistakenly made our order to go and made us wait for half an hour at our table with no food or service.
Love this place! Come here every weekend because I love the pastries and the coffee. Now that Redmond town center has been pedestrianised its lovely to sit outside here and watch the world go by whilst sipping and munching. Highly recommended. Also make sure you get a punch card.. they do separate ones for coffee and pastries and you get a free one with ten stamps!
Yummy pastries and coffee. Very polite staff. Not many tables inside, but several outside where you can enjoy you food and people-wathing.
Delightful pastries, creapes, paninis and crosaunts. And the French never disappoint with dessert, and this place is no exception!
Horrible customer service. Got my order wrong. The paninis used to be good. But the quality has gone down.
This place is fancy on the outside. I visited here quite often. During my latest visit here I went to get a fork. Incidentally the fork jar was empty .. I took a look inside and it was utterly disgusting. Some moldy black stuff at the bottom and the walls of the jar .. Looks like it was not cleaned in month. I mean people take utensils from it which they use to eat, the least the management can do is clean it regularly. Not going to visit this place again.
It was great. But being around self pretentious jerks? Makes it not worth it. Had a woman cut me off entering and she didnt say excuse me or thank you and her annoying children were loud. Then as Im leaving with a friend, we hold the door open for a dad and daughter and they just walk through and dont say thank you.Just as an FYI, youre in Redmond, you have nothing to be proud about.
One of my favorite places. Love the bakery here!
First time here and it was great. Had a cinnamon croissant and a latte both were excellent.
I ordered cake over phone and paid the bill in person at store and also got the receipt and next day when I went to pickup the cake they said, Sorry, we didnt make the cake, its not in the system. How come you gave me the receipt then? What a worst experience, they just ruined my day.
My goto place for white bread. I have tried white bread in multiple places. This one beats them all. I also love the Salmon quiche and the double baked chocolate almond croissant. You can also try the goat cheese with spinach which is mouth watering along with Nutella crepes. Overall I love this neat little bakery.
Ordered a Mille feulle, it was crispy but also light and good. Next time I will order a tiramisu! my bf ordered a latte with almond milk and a croissant.
Cannot recommend French Bakery enough. Last time I was in around 7:00am, I got lucky and got a chocolate croissant right as it came out of the oven. HNNG!
This unpretentious cafe offers a lovely selection of baked goods as well as drinks and lunch items. We never miss the opportunity to stop by after visiting the bookstore across the street.
My hot vegetarian panini did not have the vegetables that were advertised, only a piece of bell pepper and spinach. Also, it was entirely cold and the bread was almost too hard to chew. Absolutely not what I was expecting based on the meal description.
One of my favorite cafes !!! The pastries and drinks are delicious. One of the best cafes in the Seattle area.
I like their quiche and crepes. Its in a very convenient location in an outdoor mall with tables and chairs to accommodate the pandemic restrictions.
Very good coffee, good patries
Delicious baked goods. My kids loved all of them and their kid-temp hot chocolate, which was a nice touch. The favorite was the mango layer cake. It was strange that they were sold out of so many items, but it was only a couple hours before closing on a Sunday night, so I get it.
Yummy. My son loved drooling over the pastry case. However, my friend bought 6 pastries and they gave her a HUGE box - you know the kind (holds a dozen donuts but this one was 2x the height) and then put it in a HUGE bag. The over packaging should be addressed. Other than that, great experience. I got tea, a sandwich and my son chose a pastry and there were no leftovers? 😁😁
The food and sweets were good. The staff was nice and helpful. I wished the staff wore gloves when packaging the sweets.Update- I went again and this time it was not so good. The lettuce looked bad and there was a fly inside the refrigerated display case. The fly was all over the sweets in there. Not all the staff wore masks and gloves. I dont know what happened. I am not going back there again. Sorry.
Staff girl at the counter was rude. I asked to confirm if the croissant was no meat ? And she replied “it’s tomato” with a weird degrading tone. din like that attitude
The dessert case here is fantastic!Everything else... probably the most Americanized version of French food I have ever had. I don’t think any of the employees know a thing about French cuisine. Don’t bother with the food menu. Stick with the pastries.
The food is always pretty consistent, but coffee is another story. It all depends on who makes it - most times its great, but sometimes its just awful... We still keep coming back - its a great location, especially when the weather is nice and we can sit outside.
Great pastry and food items. Good coffee and drink options. Amazing chai tea, I have no idea what they do differently but I cant put it down, its creamy and spicy. Be prepared to pay higher then average coffee prices. It is always busy and full of people of all ages, so noisy too.
Great pastries! They have a varied selection of sweet pastries as well as good lunch options. Quick service and plenty of seating. I could only give 4 starts because the coffee was not the best. It was fine but not great. I had a cappuccino but the water was too hot which made the shot bitter.
Great food and very quick service. They have a large selection of pastries that look amazing and the crepes are outstanding. Their coffee is server with a smile and brewed to perfection. Highly recommend this place.
The coffee is great and currently they offer soy, coconut and oat milk as alternatives. They charge you $1.00 for the change but at least have options. I would love that they have vegan pastries.
Amazing pastries. Just like the other locations.
People were friendly and I liked the location and service. But their cakes had such terribly synthetic flavoring that I couldnt even finish half. Thai tea was just disgustingly sweet, even my partner with sweet tooth refused to have a second sip. Pastry was a bit better though nothing to write home about. Nothing was remotely french imo.
The French Bakery are great. I mean really good place for European breakfast/lunch. Crepes, pastries and very good Italian coffee. This place is special because it carries more American culture in terms of interior - lots of space, simple design and quality service. Plus there are tables just next the the square and you can capture events happening there.
Great breads and pastry. The coffee is delicious. Lots of little tables. Warm sandwiches and salads available. Cake is ok, go for the croissants if you prefer a sweet treat, especially the chocolate almond or marionberry cream cheese.
Its my favorite. A bit disappointed today when I found out that they ran out of turkey and cheese croissant, but was happy with their new additions like blueberry Danish. The service is always as quick as you go find a seat and settle no matter how crowd the shop is. Their cakes are light, not too sugary, nor have lard. They got strawberry pockets and new vegetarian options as well. Keep it up!
Super cute place! The pastries aren’t for me but my dad who lived in France for a couple years so when I can I try and find places that have authentic stuff for him on special occasions I’ll say this place was definitely good for that 👍
Great coffee and pastries!! Favorite savory dish has always been their ham and provolone croissant. For a sweet pastry, try a guava pocket!! Not too sweet, just right!
Great pastries! Try one of the turnovers, they are puffy slabs of heaven. My wife says the coffee is among the best in Redmond. The service is prompt and friendly.
Great food and service. They have cold/warm crepes and/or sandwiches as well as baked sweets!
Staff, especially the wonderful woman bussing tables, was an angel. Great food. Kind customers too. Nice holiday experience with my 2 boys.
Best palmier Ive had in a while. Since Europe actually... Very good pastries, coffee is very good too.
We love this place! After a movie its so easy to just go downstairs and grab something wonderful to eat. The pastries are to die for, the quiches are heavenly and the coffee is good. The store at Factoria Mall is so convenient either from the parking lot or from inside the mall.
My favorite bakery in the area. Good lattes/cappuccinos, and excellent crepes, croissants and cakes: I love I can have all of that in one place. Location is also good (Redmond Town Center walking area), makes it so nice to sit outside in the summer!
I go to this bakery every Saturday that I attend the Redmond exotic car show. Their treats are consistently delicious! The people who work here are very friendly and helpful.
We bought a whole tiramisu cake for $32 it was delicious.
Good place, makes you feel hungry as soon as you enter. It doesnt have the common vibe of a French bakery, in fact doesnt event look like a bakery. I can see the attention to modern elements in interior decoration, so maybe its an attempt to modernize the concept. The giant Italian (coffee) poster on the main wall steals the show and puts the visitor in a weird state of mind... Where am I? French or Italian? :)
Love this place! Would get 5 stars if they didn’t close so early. At least be open till 8pm
Great food, friendly people, spacious and accommodating. Thanks!
The chocolate cake was rich and decadent! They have a good amount of small tables and chairs inside and of course you can find outdoor seating nearby.
Grilled sandwiches are very oily and the salad was drenched in sauce. Coffee was pretty good.
Cheapest version of French desserts. Those who like these desserts probably have never been to France and haven’t tried delicious, high-quality desserts. Coffee is ok.
Delicous drinks and food. Nice place to go in good weather and sit outside to people watch. A little pricey for what it is but what isnt these days?
They have great mini quiche and pastries. They always seem busy but the line moves quickly. We really like this place.
The one of the best bakeries in Redmond, certainly the best croissant. Very good cake, tarts, croissants and quick service. Nice places to sit inside and outside.
Their French pastries are good, so are their French dishes. However, their tiramisu is the worst Ive ever had.
Always amazing pastries and crepes! Friendly staff. And great coffee. I love coming here so much that my waist line is letting me know I have a problem. Haha worth it! ❤❤
Food was fine; nothing special. However, prices here are absurdly high for what you get. The menu even implies that cheese on a sandwich is free, while it costs about $2 for a slice.
Great food and pastries. My only criticism is the difficulty when you go with a group. All the tables are round and very small, made for a maximum of two people. We had a group of eight and had to drag tables together with no help from the staff. Its also quite difficult to hear when the place is full since there are only hard surfaces, with absolutely nothing to absorb the sound.
The French Bakery is one of my favorites, I have visited all of their locations, unfortunately I stoped by at their Redmon location on Friday, September 6th at 5:30 the cashier said I could order, but it would have to be ordered to go. I am not sure if it was because they close at 6:00. I was very disappointed and would love to talk to a manager and discuss this issue.
The coffee and pastries are top notch but a bit pricey. Seating is always a challenge
Best french croissants in town. I have yet to eat anything I did not like. And the coffee is very well done.
The food is great, and the people are so nice! I highly recommend the sweet crepes, and the hot chocolate is top-of-the-line. This is definitely our go-to breakfast place!
Delicious food and fast service that made it possible to charge our batteries and keep shopping.
Good croissants, open late, vibe is a bit lacking
Love going here for some baked goods once in awhile. Great croissants!
While the sandwiches here are very good, and I assume the same is true of their pastries and other goods, the prices are just too high. ($12+tax for a single sandwich and a handful of greens on the side.) Not only that, but their sandwich menu implies that cheese is free — its not.
Nice place, as all the French Bakeries. Crepes are hilarious, Black Forest cake is delicious. All the desserts are just awesome.
Delicious mochas/coffees, moist pleasantly flavored desserts/pastries, and tasty savoury options! Yummy omnomnoms for all~
Good pastries excellent coffee cheerful baristas. If they cleaned the table tops and clear out food fallen under tables it would be perfect
Enjoyed lunch here with the family. Turkey Club was really good!
The only French Bakery where we every had an order messed up. Good but they seemed unfocused.
Great that they have a location now at Redmond Town Center. Loved the salmon quiche. Must try.
Gorgeous croissants and latte. My kids and I love a sneaky pastry from here 😋
Variety of baked goods. Love the crepes. Good service!
