I got two piercings done within 3 weeks and took my friend to get her nose pierced while she was in town.

First I called to make an appointment and got the leave a message prompt so I did. I talked clearly and left my name and number and exactly what I was looking for. There was never a call back. Two days later I walked down there as I dont live far. When I walked threw the door I immediately got the lobby is full wait outside, so I did. After three people walked out, I started to come back in, I paused at the door putting on my mask when at the same time the receptionist opened the door and immediately started with you have to have a mask to come in.. the mask was literally on one ear and starting to go around the other. I had not even touched the handle to the door yet (and I had the mask on the first time I came in.).When I can in I was asked if I had an appointment, I explained that I did not and that I tried calling two days ago with no return, she did apologize for that and helped me make an appointment for my daughter to get her nose pierced. The appointment wasnt able to be sooner than a week away but thats ok. She went threw the paperwork that I needed to bring and what to expect day of.Forward to the appointment and similar situation with the wait outside. When getting called in and filling in all the paperwork it just feels kind of unwelcoming. The piercing it self went smoothly but not even 24 hours later my daughter had it come disconnected and lost while she was sleeping.I returned with her in hand and explained what happened. Had to make another appointment for them to fit her in to get it fixed. We were able to get in 2 days later. Thankfully it had not closed up.A wheel and a half later ring number 2 falls out. I am not blame them I honestly think it is a faulty design in that type of ring.Now I dont think the people there are Rude just not 100% for the customer service. Not a lot of options here in Reno surprisedly enough so they dont have to go above and beyond. I just never felt welcome there like they know there isnt too many other places to go so who needs to try. The shop is absolutely spot on clean so no worries there, but I moved here from Portland where you could fine a body piercer every 100 yard and the customer service was 100% better. If I decide to have anything else done for be and her we will make the trip back there.

The Piercing shop looked very nice and professional, and making an appointment was very easy. However, there is a HUGE discrepancy between the price of the piercing and the jewelry that they have. I ended up not getting pierced here because most of their jewelry cost $200+. They only had a few options that were less than $100. I wish they had told me that was what their price ranges were when I booked the appointment. I was not prepared to spend that much on jewelry and hadnt budgeted for that.

The inside was very nice and clean I was greeted as soon as I walked in by a very friendly receptionist all the staff were very knowledgeable and very friendly and extremely helpful they have a great selection of high-end jewelry and body piercings they helped me along with exactly what I needed and even recommended a couple of things I was very happy with the customer service they we so cool they even threw in 2 spare beads just in case. So Awsome I was impressed with the wide selection that they have and I will definitely be back

This place is amazing to get pierced! I got my septum pierced and Angela, the cool kickass owner, is a sweetheart who did mine. The place is so clean and everyone are so nice and awesome. I’ll definitely come back soon when I get one or two! 🖤

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. We came into town for a family getaway and my daughter wanted to get her septum pierced. I made the appointment online which was easy and they got in touch with me the next day to confirm the appt and to make sure we bring all the correct document since she is a minor. My husband and my daughter went in and they said the entire staff was amazing. They were all very friendly and easy to talk to. My daughter said that when she walked in she instantly felt comfortable. Thank you Frankie and the entire staff for making our visit there a great one. When we are back in town again we will for sure be making another appointment. 😁

Um…wow!! Let me just say how blown away I am that the entire staff was so clean, helpful, and funny too! I was very impressed that they had special sticks just to touch the jewelry with instead of using your hands, even the staff member used one! Tony did my helix/flat piercing today and I’m just blown away! He took my safety very seriously by making sure every surface was clean, and joked around with me a bit because I was very nervous. Every question I had was answered thoroughly and kindly. Best of all, I got the cutest jewelry of all time! I am very happy with the entire experience :Dbtw, the dagger was exactly the kind of thing i was looking for. i wasn’t sure what i’d end up with but i went into it looking for something classy and edgy at the same time. they have many pieces of jewelry that fit that vibe perfectly!

So, just wanted to share my experience. I simply came to black hole to grab a nose ring didn’t need anything special just needed a piece of jewelry and get out of there. Waited 20 minutes just to LOOK at the Jewelery. With the pandemic I understand they have a protocol so I wasn’t too bummed about that.After I selected a piece of jewelry they asked me to wait outside while they bent the jewelry. For another 30 minutes… I am not a jewelry expert, but when they came out it was a long stem with a 90° bend which I could not in any way fit in my nose comfortably. Either it goes all the way up into my brain, or all the way down with a long bar sticking out of the bottom of my nose.If you are looking for a quick turnaround and a simple process this is not the place for you. I gave this place two stars because the cleanliness was obviously important. I had to come home and then the nose ring with a pair of pliers just to fit it in..

Went to this place to change my jewelry since the piercer I went didn’t use a good jewelry! loved it very much! expensive but definitely worth it! The piercers are so kind and I enjoyed it! I’m definitely going to be coming back a few times to get more piercings

Yesterday I went in and had such an amazing experience. I was going to go get something re pierced and Vanessa jo was my piercer. She educated me deeply about the metal I was getting and made me feel incredibly comfortable in every way. When it was time for the actual piercing she was incredibly gentle and went through a breathing technique with me which helped incredibly. I think the pain this time getting the piercing was cut in half from when I first go it. I won’t lie the whole thing was a little pricey but it came with great quality care and quality piercings, while having such an awesome experience. You’re amazing Vanessa!

Wow. Just awesome. I felt like I was back in 1998 when there were multiple professional piercing studios and body modification shops. What an incredibly professional shop. Heads up : Youll probably need an appointment to be seen. I walked in, looking to purchase what I always called a circular barbell, which I guess is now considered a curved barbell. I was able to purchase one, but this place was very busy! Ill be coming back, if for nothing more than the nostalgia. Thanks.

Ive been to the Black Hole in the past never a bad word or experience, Ive just always gone to Stingray and since the they recently closed I decided to go to a trustworthy company.Took my teen son up there to get his ears pierced and it was a great experience . He was nervous and a little shy but they made it all right. Staff was efficient and polite. They are following Covid policies and are appointment only at this time. If your getting a minor pierced dont forget their birth certificate that set me back a bit time wise. Kudos to Black Hole, I highly recommend them.

I was here nearly 2 years ago for a daith piercing while in Reno for a conference. It is my favorite piece and it was such a quick, safe, and enjoyable process. I was so happy to have chosen this spot, and love the jewelry options as well as the incredibly kind staff!!! My piercing healed beautifully. Vanessa Jo did my daith and tragus piercing. She is amazing! They were quick and barely hurt. She, also, helped pick and change my triple helix jewelry to match my newest piercings! My kid got her ears pierced with a tandem piercing team. Great experience. They talked her through the process and three set up want scary at all. I really love that the business is in an old house. It was warm and welcoming and didnt smell like cleaning stuff but was very clean.

I loved my experience at Black Hole. I set up my appt online and it was easy and fast. Once I got there, I was checked in and had a short wait. I forget her name, but a lady helped me pick out a stud for my piercing and was very helpful and upfront about everything. I knew exactly what I was paying for. Once I got into the room to get it done, Jessica came in and did it quick and easy. She was very kind and made me feel comfortable and I just loved the whole thing. The whole experience was great, from the gal who patiently helped me select the jewelry to my piercer, Hydi. Hydi is incredibly personable, FUNNY, and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Most importantly, she cares a lot about your experience and ensures that you are happy with the piercing. I walked away happy and equally impressed with the service and care. I highly recommend Hydi as a piercer :)

Easy to Make an appointment on line, showed up on time but wait time was ridiculously long.The place was clean and looked well maintained.Employees were nice and seemed Very professional.There were extra fees on the piercing, and it was ridiculously expensive in the end.They have some gorgeous jewelry peices, but pricey, expect to drop some cash.

Ive been looking for a clean and professional piercing studio for a while and came across Black Hole. I got mid helix piercing with Joshua and he did a fantastic job explaining every part of the process to me, which helped with my nervousness. I loved how it turned out. I went back a month later and saw Frankie for a single lobe piercing, my third on the other ear. Frankie is absolutely amazing! I was thinking just a boring third hole placed equidistant from the second, but he suggested a creative placement that turned out to be a perfect one for my ear shape. I loved how he curated my ear and also suggested future piercings. I will be returning to see Frankie for all my future piercings!

Went in today for the first time. I had a wonderful experience! Honestly the best experience I’ve had getting a piercing. They answered all my questions. I knew going in, that the piercing I wanted wouldn’t be for everyone but, I made my appointment in hopes that I would be a good candidate for a second philtrum piercing. Hydi was my body piercer for the day. She was absolutely lovely! Made me feel calm & she was very honest with me when it came to answering my questions. The entire team was really great! It is pricey, however, it’s great to know that I’m in good hands! The shop is clean & the layout is awesome (like I’m in a high end piercing shop! And that’s exactly what Black Hole is!). Like I said before, it’s good to know that I’m getting a piercing done in a clean shop that knows what they are doing. I left smiling because I was so in love with my new piercing!!! Best piercings in Reno if you go anywhere else youre making a mistake. Never had irritation/infection from their high quality jewelry ever, staff is super knowledgeable - literally been going here for 15 years all different kinds of piercings and theyre all still beautiful.

The people doing the piercing are amazing. Professional and personable. Be warned if you are taking a child. They require a pic of the childs birth certificate and another form of id for the child. That would have been fine if anyone had told us this when we made the appt. (And told them the person getting the piercing was 7) or sent that info in any of the multiple reminder texts. Instead they were going to send a very excited 7 year old away without getting her ears pierced if we werent lucky enough to have a neighbor who could go take a picture of her birth certificate.

Black hole is such a professional shop.I’ve had a few ear piercings here as well as my belly button.This morning I woke up with broken earring and an earring post that had gone through the hole- I tried everything to get it out myself but had no luck.I decided to go to Black Hole to get some help. I was a walk in appointment when they were very busy. They were able to squeeze me in and get the post out of my ear so quickly and virtually pain free.Every staff member who helped me was extremely professional and kind.I will always go to them for my piercing needs- and clearly can count on them for weird situations like I had today also!!

What a great experience we had here. The shop was very clean and well-kept, and they had a great selection of unique jewelry. The biggest reason Id recommend them to anyone was the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the piercings. My wife and I got vastly different piercings (helix and nipples, respectively) and they were both the best ones weve ever had. Small shop, but very cute. Limited space capacity due to Covid. Called and made in appointment the week before going in. They made the process very easy. Got checked in, they helped me picked plugs and put them in for me. Was stretching my plugs from 0 to 00. Great selection of high quality beautiful jewelery.

I have only a short wait. Business was very clean and covid-19 safe. Piercing staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They have the jewelry I wanted, but was a little pricey.

The service even with an appointment is slow had a 1pm appointment got in 5 till 2!! Why make a appointment if they wont honor it. The only thing they where quick at was taking our money.

They had a huge selection of jewelry to choose from and let me know my diamond has a lifetime guarantee.My piercer was Bambi. He was professional while still being warm and friendly. Not the best when it comes to unique piercings. These guys are noobs and Butchered my third eye piercing due to repetitive way of thinking and while the staff allowed emotions to drive their passion in a inhumane way to make a point of supremacy. Beware of the places that are losing their touch like this every visitor sensed their intent.. in a big city with more energy these guys wouldnt make it and dont see them in business for long after such a mistake.

My husband got his ears pierced with Josh. He was extremely professional and helped my husband feel at ease since it was his first piercing ever. The whole business was very clean and looked nice. As well as the rest of the staff was very polite and helpful. 10/10 would recommend coming here.

Very clean and the piercers are great but a total rip off, long waits, and kind of rude customer service.The first time I went there I got a helix piercing and told them at the counter that I needed hypoallergenic metal (titanium, surgical steel or gold). Instead of letting me know that all or at least most of their jewelry was hypoallergenic, they brought me straight to the gold so the cost ended up being around 150 before the tip. Later on I was looking online for different jewelry and found the exact same piece for $18 when I paid 100 for it. Also, the back of the one online was titanium, so I checked the back of mine and it was also titanium. The titanium is fine but I thought that I was paying that price for gold.Another time I went in, I got my nose pierced. The piercing went fine but they recommended a labret which is usually used for cartilage piercings. Not a huge deal until I wanted to take it out. It was fully healed in 2 months so I went to the shop asking for them to change the jewelry and they refused because it hadnt been 4 months since I got the piercing. Everyone heals differently.The last time I went was to get my nipple pierced. Again the piercer was great but the jewelry I wanted brought the total to 270 which I wasnt going to pay almost 300 dollars for nipple piercings. After being told the price for those, I asked about the opal jewelry and it came out to 250. Then I asked for the cheapest jewelry and that was around 150. When I asked for the 3rd price, the guy at the counter, Mike, was kind of rude and seemed annoyed. I understand its annoying but its also annoying when I have to pay a minimum of 150 for 2 nipple piercings when there are tattoo shops (Black widow ink and under your skin are my favorites) that are just as clean and have standard jewelry included with the piercing.I hate to leave bad reviews especially on small businesses but its such a rip off with a lot of the jewelry.

So I went online to complain about black hole not being accessible to people with disabilities and tried to find another quality shop to go to and within a couple days they contacted me personally to let me know that they would be happy to help me get myself and my chair into the shop however they could as they do this for plenty of other disabled clients. Apparently theres logistical issues with them getting a ramp, so they make due. I really appreciate that they choose to be inclusive to and many people as they can rather then just ignore our business. You might be out of luck if you use an electric chair as they have several stairs to clear. It speaks volumes that one of their employee went out of their way to invite us back in, I was freaked out by other shops that were more accessible so Im glad Im not just gonna get stuck going wherever.

I recently noticed my nose piercing was not moving through the hole. I got the hoop from Black Hole a few months back so I wanted to return there. I saw Bambi (yes like the movie. He said it!) and he told me what the issue might be. He was fully explained the process and my options. He was able to fix my piercing and ring with no complications. He was super friendly and his customer service was excellent.

I have gotten several piercings from Black Hole since 2013, and their quality is unmatched in Reno. The studio itself is clean, welcoming and warm. All the piercers and consultants are professional and will spend as much time as it takes to work with you, even if the studio is busy (which isnt uncommon). The large selection of jewelry can make it hard to find a piece (they are all AMAZING), but rest assured they will guide you through the process to make sure your experience is the best it can be. As far as the actual piercing process, the piercers are sensitive to your needs (for example, if you are afraid of needles, they will tailor your experience to minimize needle anxiety), and will do everything they can to ensure the experience is as comfortable as possible. They are there for aftercare as well in case of any concerns with the piercing, as they genuinely care for how your piercing heals. I cannot recommend Black Hole enough. If youre on the fence, take this as a sign: go. Its awesome. You will not be disappointed.

My 12 year old had her ears pierced by Jessica and it was a really great experience. The front staff was helpful and welcoming. Jessica was so professional and did an amazing job putting my nervous daughter at ease, talking through everything she was doing before and during the smooth procedure. I was impressed with the Covid protocols in place, from contactless check in, plastic pointers to avoid touching jewelry, sanitizer stations, and overflow seating in the porch. There was a wait but it wasn’t even a big deal due to the busyness which is understandable, but I was able to go check out nearby stores while I waited for my piercing :) Jessica was very rad and made my anxiety go down beforehand and my nostril piercings were all done before I even knew it. She gave me the whole run down about aftercare and was informative! Super satisfied and they’re absolutely professional. May be costly to others but you get what you pay for !

I just got my septum pierced yesterday, and I have to say they did AMAZING! First of all, amazing and welcoming atmosphere, it helps when you feel nervous, for sure. Second, theyre VERY sanitary, as they should be. That being said, they did all the necessary steps in the procedure to ensure I had a safe and painless piercing. Not to mention, they were very friendly. Lastly, they are definitely educated— which is so important, especially when getting the septum piercing. If your piercer didnt check for the sweet spot in your septum, RUN! Mine made sure that I got pierced in the right spot. Overall, a great experience, worth the price, and plenty of beautiful jewelry! Thank you guys so much, and Ill definitely be back for a second ear lobe piercing!

Wonderful experience I was nervouse coming in and the manager as soon as I walked in made me feel at ease. The whole staff was professional and wonderful . Clean and convient location. The piercer Bambi was AWESOME he made me feel comfortable answered all my questions and made me feel confident with the whole thing. I drove from the bay area for a family vacation. Googled this place and boom turned out to be the best decision. Any future piercings will definitely be at this location.

Black Hole is the ONLY place in Reno Ill get piercing done! I cant recommend it is enough to everyone I meet. I’m currently working with Bambi and love his sense of humor and professionalism. 10/10 always great advice and not afraid to tell me the truth. All the staff is great and I look forward to all my visits.
