As you can see I reaaaaly love this store...I often spend several hundred dollars on my daughter and I. Think Platos Closet but for a more sophisticated lady. They have a fine selection of high end designer & other quality clothing, accessories & handbags. Wonderful sales monthly with dresses as low as $12 (yes I got that $100 brand new dress for $12..😝😝😝🤑🤑🤑).... anyway... drop by & see Mike & the ladies & hope I havent been there first.

UPDATE: Thanks for your quick response and the intent to correct the noted mistake - it happens, glad my review prompted the initiation to update the stores information. I’ve shopped and sold here several times and sometimes I receive friendly service and other times I don’t. However, I took some clothes on after 4 on a weekday and was told they don’t accept clothes sitter 4 - cool beans no biggie. The representative told me to try back tomorrow or in the weekend. Following her recommendation, I returned Sunday at 1 but was informed that they rugby but clothes on Sunday, well that would have been vital information to portray when I came in during the week. When the representative suggested the weekend day to me. No big thing but sometimes the small things really matter, especially if the same communication is given incorrectly.

Corrected: The staff is very professional and nice. It smells good in the store. Store is taking proper Covid precautions. It may not be the best place to sell your items (you’re better off selling on a resale app) but it’s a good place to shop.

Purchased a Chico’s necklace based on online photos, which showed the necklace to be in good order. Received the necklace and it was literally falling apart. I immediately contacted the store regarding the issue, received no response, and contacted the store again. I received a voice message from the owner; he indicated that he would not assist me and that I should be satisfied because it was a Chico’s necklace and it was a good price. I don’t care if the necklace was free, if it was damaged why would you have it for sale, send it out and then have a flippant attitude when I reach out to try and resolve the issue. I purchase online and in person from many CM stores and this is the first issue I have had. I will not be purchasing from this store going forward....customer service/satisfaction is lacking....so disappointing.

This second hand clothing store for women is very well organized and offers a good variety of apparel, handbags, shoes/boots, jewelry and other accessories. Most items are gently worn, and some are like-new. They also buy clothes. Check with an employee for details. Shoppers need to note this is a for-profit store, so prices are higher than charity thrift shops/stores in the Memphis area. However, if you are looking for good deals, you can find them at Clothes Mentor. My most recent purchase included a like-new dressier maxi dress and a cute like-new dress which can be dressed up or down. Both were approximately $26 including tax. The Clothes Mentor staff has been polite, friendly and helpful the three times Ive shopped in their store.

My first visit here they returned all of my items saying I should try Plato’s Closet because my items were for a younger generation. This visit I returned because the items I had were business casual items and they were from brands listed on their website such as Old Navy, Sperry and New York and Company. When I first entered I was greeted at the front desk by no one. As I waited a lined formed behind me and a few minutes later an employee greeted me asking did I want to sell. I then try to hand her my bag and she says that they cannot accept items in a plastic bag due to COVID and they would only accept a laundry basket or reusable bag. I normally wouldn’t get upset or leave a bad review but I don’t understand this policy. The same COVID germs could be on my laundry basket or a reusable bag since they all came from my home. I wouldn’t want my laundry basket in a public place anyway I would prefer something disposable. I honestly believe I was told this because I walked in at 3:45 and they stopped buying at 4pm. The lady told me to let my items air out for 24 hours and then return. I ended up taking the items to Goodwill because I was not wasting anymore gas on this company. I could not find this policy on the website so if this is a new policy it should be advertised more before customers waste their gas and time.

They have excellent customer service. Im always greeted as I come through the doors and Im told about all the deals the store has. I never leave empty handed!!!

If youre selling, just make sure you go between 10-4 Monday-Saturday. They will not accept your clothes for selling a minute after 4. Friendly service, just wish I could have easily found out the buying times online before I went.

I came in today to sell some items and was greeted by a gentleman who was the nicest ive seen in a while(may be the owner).he was thorough with his explanation and was fine with the way i brought in my stuff (because other places act like theres no such thing as accomodation -_-) the time he said theyd be done was on point. overall everything was great and definetly would come do business again solely for the great attitude+ treatment.

I am a new mom and had to drive 30 minutes to this store. I called earlier in the day and asked what the protocol was for dropping off clothes and they said just make sure they are clean. I get to the store at 4:30pm when they close at 7pm. They inform me that they cannot take anymore items past 4. I said oh, no one said that on the phone when I called earlier. Is there anyway you can keep the items over night for tomorrow I don’t mind if it takes a while. She said it’s a “liability thing” someone could steal your clothes and we would be responsible. I said can I sign something I really don’t mind ? She said no sorry. She also looked me up and down and asked my age. Very judgmental place. I don’t recommend you give these people your business. I’ll be going else where to sell my high end clothes. Waisted 1hr out of my day.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Owner of the store discriminated against me and made me leave. I am unable to wear a face covering due to health reasons and he informed me that I was not welcome in their facility. Definitely will not ever go back.In response to your comment, I have not been in your store since last fall. So your accusations are false. Not to mention I no longer even live in or near Memphis anymore and haven’t for a while. I was not offered a face shield, had I been I would have GLADLY taken you up on your offer.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Good selection, organized. One of the owners helped me the day I came. He was polite, respectful and very helpful. The fitting room doors may be faulty, however. I watched as he unlocked it to let me in and after I entered he locked it behind me, I believe, so no one could walk in on me. The doors are supposed to open from the inside so the people changing can come out when finished. When I tried to open my door, it didnt yield. Now, Im apt to not push hard enough on doors when entering or exiting but I dont know. I mentioned it to him and hopefully he will look into getting it fixed.

Very well organized with many styles to choose from. Clothes are in great condition and its a good way to save money on designer brands. All items are gently used or new. Things are organized by color, size, and type which helps relieve some of the guess work. Store associates are kind and friendly.

I spent about 2-1/2hours of my precious time going through each individual rack to find some items that I wanted to purchase.I decided on about 10 outfits. I politely took them to the counter and informed an employee that I wanted to purchase the outfits but I needed them to hold them for me because I wasn’t finished shopping. She said that was fine so I place them on the counter and continued to shop. Once I was completely done shopping, I stood at the counter for a minute but the owner Lori didn’t notice me because she was focusing her attention elsewhere, so I said “mam I am ready to check out and they are holding my other items that I would like to purchase”. She couldn’t find them so she asked another employee if she had seen them. she stated“I put them back on the rack.” The owner told her to see if you could retrieve them. She found two of my items on a rack, and I informed her that other customers in the store had some of my items in their hand. I informed the owner Lori as well. She looked up at me with a nonchalant attitude, while smacking food in my face “sorry”Lori, you could have at least tried to explain to the other customer that those clothes were suppose to be on hold and was put back due to been unorganized.Your business has a 2-1/2 star rating. That should tell you a lot about your business. Apparently it’s unorganized and has the lack of customer service. Great customer service is priceless, and it defines your brand. You showed no compassion about the situation at all. My experience didn’t match my expectations. This store has potential so I am hoping the store manger Dee can build it up with her personality and awesome customer service skills, but I hope she starts the building process with the owners.

Dont waste your time with them. They have so many stupid rules that you have to follow and then some of them, they make up as they go. I followed the rules but they made up a rule just not to except my items. I had some very nice things. I looked around the store at stuff that they already have an you can tell that they are liars!!! When you walk in the store, they greet you but you can tell from the vibe that they didnt want to be bothered. I came with little gas,waited 2 hours, then used more gas to find something to do for 2 hours and came back to the store to pick up ALL my items!!! I wouldnt buy nothing from them either. I love coming here. They have really stylish and affordable clothes. I struggle with finding petite office clothes but found a lot of options at Clothes Mentor. Definitely one of my new favorite thrift shops in Memphis.

This was my first time selling a dress and they only offered me $5.00 for the dress. I bought it for $65.00. I never worn the dress and the tag was still attached to it. Their reason was because they saw a little stain that was very small. You couldnt see it. They had to move the dress around just to see it. I was trying to have money just to help my family and they gave me gas money back. I wasnt expecting the full amount of what I bought at least it could have been half. RIP OFF!!! I will not take my review down unless I get the $30.00 which is the rest of the half.

Lots of nice resale clothes and accessories. Clothes are in a variety of sizes including plus sizes. They take nice instyle clothes and accessories and buy them from you for a good price. Reasonable prices when youre buying something. So much better than Goodwill. I would definitely recommend this place. Come check them out.

Very picky about what they buy but they have a lot in stock. Always want shoes. I was looking for professional clothes without having to dip into my savings for a business trip. Ended up borrowing most of my slacks from a friend. I wear scrubs to work, so no need in wasting a lot of money on clothes Im going to wear twice a year, maybe.

Took some clothes in to see if theyd buy. I was told that it would be a 45 minute wait. Which was fine. But two hours later I had to go ask when my stuff would be ready to go. Finally they were done looking through my clothes. They gave me $10. I waited two hours for $10?? I also took in mostly name brand clothing and they handed it right back to me. Wasted my time

I brought in 30 items that were all name brand and many had just been dry cleaned; they offered $8 for 4 items. And they threw all my nice, clean, folded items in a garbage bag to return them. I said no thanks. I will not be shopping there again either.

I really should have taken the reviews into account! I drove 1.5 hours to sell 2 large totes of clothes (mostly jeans & slacks). I had 90% of the name brands listed on the website. The first time, I waited an hour & a half, only to be told that there was a smoke odor, so they wouldnt take anything.Second go round, I laundered everything & ensured it was promptly sealed in totes to prevent odors. They took nothing. The explanation: the pants rack was full, & I should try back in 2-3 months. Again, this was after a 1.5 hour wait. No explanation on why my dresses, shirts, or sweaters werent taken.Also, as someone previously noted, they left my items very disheveled on both occasions.I will NOT waste my time again.

Last but certainly not least Ms Dee, the beautiful, sweet, & courteous manager has a JEWEL employed by the name of Ms. Mary Ann, yall Ms Mary Ann is truly one of Gods angels on earth!!! Yall she was so helpful & knowledgeable about their inventory and pricing truth be told Ms. Dee & Ms Mary Ann had me in joyfully blessed tears when I left their store (for the second shopping trip in an hour) ITS truly the small things like greeting your customers and being helpful that truly makes a customers shopping experience become a testimony of just how great God is!!!

I like taking clothes there. I thought they would accept more as I had clothes that I had never worn with tags, but I found out they dont accept womens suits new or used. The items not selected, I took to the Goodwill. I with sell there again.

I love everything about Clothes Mentor. As soon as you walk through the door the employees are smiling and ready to assist customers with finding items. Ive read a lot of these reviews and find them to be full of crap. How do you expect a business to prosper if they are paying you top dollar for you items? No, a resale place CANNOT give you 150.00 for a coach purse! If eBay is your best bet then whats wrong with you using eBay from the beginning? I see a lot of you blaming the Manager and both Managers I have dealt with are very professional and treat all of their customers with the upmost respect. Another issue is if your clothing are not in the two year window dont get mad just take your OLD clothingwith tags and smoke smell to the goodwill and Salvation Army for a write off and receive NO money while the two companies Make Money off your DONATED items. Last but not least the lady with the red bottoms sorry you felt your items were too good for the store because every time Ive been in the store the shoes are great and the clothes are not wrinkled but I guess you would like for them to iron clothing too huh? Last but not least the lady who posted a pic of the camera by the dressing room, What in the world make you think the owner, manager, or workers would like to watch you in the dressing room? This is the 5th time I have gone to this establishment and today is the first time theyve made me an offer on my items. Their offering was extremely low based on the quality of what I have them. THEY ARE VERY PICKY AS TO WHAT THEY WILL ACCEPT, BUT LOOKING AT THE CURRENT MERCHANDISE, THEY SHOULDVE OFFERED ME MORE THAN WHAT THEY GAVE ME.

They have a nice selection of clothes and accessories at decent price, but customer service was definitely lacking. Not one of the employees offered us a smile and were rude, definitely did not feel welcome, which is a reason for me to not come back.

Great name brand items..even better prices. When it comes to selling, you have to think, if these clothes are so good why am I getting rid of them!!!?? Especially if they are older than 2yrs old...forget about having a tag on them, they are OLD!!!!! I have to say that I was extremely disappointed when I took my clothes to the store...I heard the commercial several times in the early morning and now think its misleading. I took a bin of clothes (several Talbots and Coldwater Creek and never been worn stuff) only to be told when I returned that they were too old...now, they need to be more clear in their advertising...they need to say they would like newly used clothes...dont bring in anything more than 5 years old thats been sitting in your closet...they told me they scanned the tags to find they were purchased several years ago. When you go on their website, they go into more detail but the commercial is all I went by...just be clear people! Salvation Army here I come...someone will be more than glad to wear the stuff!

This place is the worst. I dropped off 3 big bags of nice clothes. I was told the wait time was about 30 minutes. They sent me a txt in 10 minutes. When I returned, they took nothing claiming there were mends (LIES). When I got home, it looked like the items were still neat the bags the way I put them in there. They never went through those bags. I will let everyone I know about this place.

So I decided to get an early start on spring cleaning yesterday. I accomplished a lot yesterday by getting rid of a ton of paper materials. Today I tackled my closets. I decided to gather up some clothing and shoes(mostly new or worn once) and take them to Clothes Mentor on Germantown Pkwy. Ive done business with them before and was treated fairly. The clothes I had today were in very good condition with tags on most of them. I had several St John Knit dresses, 3 pair of never before worn shoes, 1 pair Louboutins (red bottoms) brand new and I pair Valentino ankle boots worn once, 1 pair Black Leather ankle boot also worn once. The manager inspected my items for authenticity and checked for scuff marks etc. She confirmed the items were real and could find no disrepair. After the inspection the manager had the unmitigated gall to offer me a whooping $61 for my lot with an explanation of the COMPUTER sets the price. I looked at that woman with utter disbelief and after I finished laughing in her face I kindly told her to keep her $61 and maybe buy some more junk to add to her goodwill items. I mean the shoes they had on display were looking all crooked and angry, the clothes were wrinkled, limp,and so yesterday, the jewelry was rusty and dated, and them poor purses were screaming for the bag lady to rescue them. I took my stuff and before I could leave the store two customers asked whos stuff is that ? I replied mine and Im leaving. Those ladies followed me to my car and asked to take a look. Right there on that lot I sold 2 pair shoes and one lady wants the red bottoms but didnt have enough money. I decided to post this because obviously the store manager thought I was either a fool or desperate. I would rather give these items to someone rather than allow these folk to resale them at a premium price. So, if youre thinking about doing business with Clothes Mentor think twice unless you can use a good belly laugh. 😂😂😂😂

Waste of time and Gas! Was just offered $10 or $12 store credit for my $1,200 Mulberry handbag. My mouth just dropped. Like, let me just give away my very expensive bag. No not today! I only went in bc I thought it would be quicker and easier then to sell online to Cashinmy bag. They offered me $490 less.

This place is seriously a straight up joke. They literally just tried to give me 24$ cash or 35$ store credit for like 10 pair of AG jeans that came from oak hall @ the min of 228$ a pair Not to mention half of them still have the price tags on them and never worn of course

Be careful when selling your high end items and know their worth before you go in. I hope this will help someone else wanting to sell their items.Clothes Mentor is a great concept! I have bought several new and slightly used items at awesome prices! Also I have sold to Clothes Mentor on three different occasions. Each time I felt like the amount offered was very fair. Each time I sold I include several Coach Handbags. This last time however I brought in a very nice Coach Handbag in great condition with a matching wristlet also in great condition along with a some jewelry and some Vera Bradley bags and another small coach handbag all together 22 items and was offered $110.00. When I questioned the worth of the large Coach I was told they were selling for $40. On e-bay and she actually was giving me half of that amount for the Coach. I took the offer minus the Coach Handbag and wristlet.I checked e-bay to see if it was possible that a Coach handbag would sell so cheap. Indeed I found the exact Coach handbag selling not bidding for $150.00.

The sales team are incredibly helpful and friendly and they offer a good selection of well cared for clothes. Helping the environment and bringing home happies is always a plus for me.

I purchased two very nice sweaters but ended up returning them. I asked BEFORE I purchased about the return policy and the clerk said as long as tags are attached, you have receipt, and its within 7 days of purchase, youll be fine. Except when I returned the sweater and pants in the condition she instructed, they gave me store credit instead of a refund. 😡 She failed to mention THAT important piece of information.It took more than a month of weekly visits to use up $40+ of that gift card and now I know why. The previous reviews explain it all. Poor customer service, lowball offers, and vague instructions seem to limit their inventory to a whole lot of similar pieces.

If I could give less than 1star I would, I use to go to clothing mentor all the time and I should have left this review a yr or 2 ago when they told me I couldn’t come back anymore, because an employee said I was ugly to her in the parking lot, I never ever did such a thing. I had been bringing and selling to themOn a regular basis for many many months, I liked coming there, until someone lied, apparently they got me mixed up with someone else and when I said it wasn’t me the old white lady just laughed and said the employee pointed me out, I got very mad at this point and I said some not so nice words, but The employee and the old white lady lied, I didn’t do anything or say anything to no employee at all in parking lot, Don’t go here they are terrible and don’t believe what the custumer says, they madeMe so angry lieing, what An awful place, take your items else where, sell some where that they don’t lie about there customers, because I didn’t do anything wrong at all ...no stars!!!! thumbs down!!

Dont waste your time, this place is aweful and from what I can tell False Advertises that they actually buy clothes cause they DO NOT. Its a complete and total waste of time, theyll make up things in order NOT TO BUY YOUR CLOTHES!! Obviously their business model is built of donations and selling stuff the goodwill or salvation army disgards. Look at their Racks all garbage clothing. Store smells like BO and the employees are lazy & rude and so obviously dont even look at clothes you bring in its almost funny, but not because they WASTE YOUR TIME!!Took 2 full suitcases of ALL Name Brand designer clothes, from Nordstrom, BeBe, Neiman Marcus etc all high end clothing some with tags still on them, all in great shape right out of our numerous spare closets just cleaning out making room for new stuff, we shop allot.. They didnt even make an offer, actually I dont even think they looked at it just claimed They had a strange odor lol umm that Odor IS YOUR STORE MAAM..!! Then suggested I return them After Laundering ummm 80% of the stuff was Dry Clean only over a 120 items easy, yeah let me go pay a $1500 dry clean bill to sell you thousands of dollars in clothes for a couple hundred bucks, right..! Mind you they were clean, no odor, smoke and pet free home with regular maid service... Just a BS excuse cause THEY DONT BUY its not their business model, obviously!! Cause they just passed up probably $10,000 in clothes for a few hundred bucks... Goodwill it is for me DONATE dont waste your time here, selling or shopping...!!

I brought in 3 large bags of clothes & purses. As advertised on the tv & radio they will take winter clothes and non- name brand stuff. Well I was quoted 2 & a half hour wait time & I would get a text to come back. I never got a text & 8hrs later they didnt buy anything but an unprofessional attitude from the clerk. I live in West Memphis & I drove all the way to Cordova twice for nothing.

I brought in brand new name brand items, and the service was horrible. My mother and I waited 2 long hours to be offered less than half a reasonable price. The entire experience was unprofessional, and the staff was down right neglectful to the needs of customers. I will never waste time with such an establishment again. Went to sell a $480 immaculate Ralph Lauren purse still with dust pouch and they offered me $10.00. What a joke!

My mom and I went there to look and to bring clothes in. When we walked in there was a musty/old smell to the store. A lot of the clothes smelt musty and a lot of the shoes looked very worn.

This place dont even deserve one star. I took my clothes. I brought a 30 & 13 gallon totes to this place as soon as they open on a Saturday morning. I was the second customer to drop off. Before I left .. I hear associations making a comment about clothes being dropped off when its one buyer working.. and not during the weekday .. so rude. Soon as I left.. about 5-7 min later I get a text saying that my stuff was ready. I almost thought it was a mistake being that I just left. I get there .. I get nothing but a f*^king coupon. Comments on my bin saying I had kids clothes and my stuff was old. I had brand new express and Bebe clothing in the bin.. I looked at the bin. Clothing was not touched. Yes I had old stuff at the top but excellent items at the bottom. This guy that gave me my bins back had a very nasty attitude. I question if my stuff was even looked at bcus I literally just left the store. He proceeds by saying how they had the state of the art buyer in the city. Blah blah. Very rude. Ive always heard that this store does a bit of discrimination ..I only have them the benefit of the doubt. I left that d**n coupon on the counter. Took my stuff to platos and got my coins. I do not recommend this place to shop at. Place is full of old faded clothes anyway.

This place Is a joke! I brought in some Coach,Michael Kors, and Banana Republic to sell and the lady owner said she couldnt except the bags because they so called computer couldnt recognize or find information on the purses. The purses was only 2 yrs old in excellent condition. She also DISCRIMINATE to certain people .I will never shop here again.You should appreciate your customers because with out them you WONT HAVE A BUSINESS.Update: The Owner is a lier.She responds but she really dont care. Dont shop here.

Absolutely horrible you respond to others reviews and not even an apology, I will tell everyone I know not to go here, your staff lies about customers and you can’t even say anything,, EVERYONE take clothing somewhere else this place is awful I will leave a review everyweek or everyday, Don’t go here they are liars and staff doesn’t believe there custumers, awful !!!!

Everytime I go to trade clothes, it takes way longer than they estimate... Employees try on the clothes while they sort through your stuff. They gave me $10 for my MK winter puffy coat, ecru color, only wore it twice.

Got 3$for a new pair of shoes. Over priced
