Conveniently located on the 2nd floor of the Silver Legacy--a stones throw from the hotels front desk--Sips truly is a spot perfect for any occasion. Whether your fueling up before a night out, recharging as you check in or simply enjoy well made coffee and friendly service, Sips is the place to go!βπ
Stopped here on our way out of the hotel. Got 2 coffees and 2 jalapeno cheese bagels. The coffee wasnt the best Ive had, but far exceeded the coffee pods provided in the rooms. However, the bagels were literally like heaven! I dont know where they get them or if they make them or if they just hit the hangover spot just right...but I definitely will get one again next time Im in town!
We ordered two coffees, two jalapeΓ±o bagels and chocolate crossant . They werenβt really great, and she lady at the counter charged me 21.6$ and forgot to give me my crossaint .Later I checked my bag and went back to get the food, they simply ignored the me . Very bad service.Anyways not coming back here .
Great prices and great food. They feature baked goods like cookies, cake and muffins, coffee, hoagie sandwiches, salads, gelato, parfaits, fruit bowls and bottled beverages.
They have the best pastries ever and theyre reasonably priced and theyre big enough that two adults can share one. And thats also a pretty good selection to choose from.
While the coffee was moderatly good. I asked for whip cream. They ran out but proceeded to just smack paper thin stack of whip cream on it. And I also got a bagel. Keep in mind that the bagel sandwich is $6. Instead of toasted its microwaved making the cheese get a bad texture to it. When taking a bite out of it the bagel was rough, the cheese had a bad texture. Overall I would not reccomend getting any form of a sandwich here and instead get the fruit. The coffee is alright but nothing special.
I took a dark chocolate mocha which was really good. Its inside a casino, so you wouldnt get the ambiance of a cafe but if you want a good coffee, this is a great place.
Since we were staying at this hotel, we decided to get our morning cup of joe at the coffee shop downstairs. Coffee was good, but that was the extent of it. Service was awful. All three of the girls working today had no personality at all, looked miserable, and would rather stand around talking to each other then help their customers. As I stood there waiting to be acknowledged (I was the only one in line), one of the girls was counting change and the other two were standing in front talking to each other. One took a long drink from her cup, walked up to the counter, took another drink, burped, and finally helped me. As much as I need my coffee in the morning, I will go without or visit Starbucks rather then return to this coffee shop.
Great coffee and pastries. Fresh fruit and decor
First visit: Wednesday, March 29th.Robert (not using real name to protect employee privacy) is a silent rock star. He was working by himself, and was quiet but polite and a pleasure to interact with. I imagine Robert wearing a beret and tweed vest, walking his beagle on a lazy Sunday whilst smoking a corn cob pipe and reading Henry David Thoreau. Robert made two separate tasty coffee-centric beverages and I was pleased to tip 14.5%.Second visit: Thursday, March 30th.Joe (the title on the nametag) was aloof and hard to understand. We did hear a snippet between him and a co-worker that he is here from the Philipines and working to save money to transition to female. I believe the pejorative term is ladyboy. Regardless, the drinks took a bit, and when they were presented, they had whipped cream. WE SAID NO WHIPPED CREAM. The drinks were not actually entirely blended; we observed chunks of ice and mix. Due to what I believed was sub-standard service and drink quality, I left a paltry 10.2% tip.If the schedule could be posted online, that would be wonderful. We do plan to return to Reno later this year. So, in closing: will return when ROBERT is working. Will not return when JOE is working. 1 star for Joe, 5 stars for Robert.*Google, by altering or deleting this review, you agree to pay me $100 in SIPS gift cards (only when Robert is working) and also issue regular updates on Joes journey.
