I trust Allen tire on forest hill avenue for all my vehicle needs, my son and daughter also go to this establishment. The team is totally awesome they make me feel like part of the family, they know who I am when I call or walk in that means a lot to a customer. Mike and Steve are awesome and Whit is a very nice gentleman, we talk about families and such .I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone needing car repairs or servicing .Rhonda and Lindsey Allen
WOW! Outstanding customer service! Extremely impressed with this place! I have been putting off purchasing new tires because I dreaded spending the time during my free time on the weekend in order to complete this chore. The folks at Allen Tire picked up my car while I was at work--called with a quote for approval, replaced my tires and returned my car to me all before my workday ended. I highly recommend them! While discussing this shop with a coworker several other people chimed in and noted that they use this place as well and have been happy for years!
Called to get information and the guy just hung up on me without showing a decent concern.
Awesome new Adaptive One brake pads and Adaptive One ultra premium polymer coated rotors solved the front brake vibration on my wife’s Acura! I’ve been going to the 13210 Midlothian Tnpke location for over 20 years with great success for car & truck maintenance and tires. Always perfect service!
This shop is FANTASTIC! After having a nightmare of an experience at NTB on Broad near Scotts Addition, the wonderful crew at Allen Tire restored my faith in car maintenance. They helped me avoid unnecessary work (to the tune of $1,100) that was suggested by NTB. So thankful to have found Allen Tire, recommended by a friend. This will be my new go to shop!
Everyone there was really helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Allen Tire
Simply said...OUTSTANDING....there is a reason I have been a long time customer and that is a reason others should be as well
They are very knowledgeable and I trust them only with my truck!!!
Fast and friendly service!!
Very good experience with Allen Tire on Forest Hill Avenue from the initial phone call to picking up my vehicle. I feel confident that I was given a fair price on my tires and the other work that needed to be done. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others and will continue to be a customer.
Terrific people and great service. The low tire pressure light on my dash has come on several times in the last month. I suspected that I had a slow leak in one of the tires but couldnt determine which one. I called yesterday (Saturday) and they suggested I bring it by. Indeed I had a screw in one of the tires, which they repaired pronto. In and out in 34 minutes. I get all my maintenance done at this shop. They are top notch.
Good price fast service
I took my car to check on my brakes. Replaced a brake hose but what I was upset about is that they said one of my wheel cylinders was leaking and it would cost 550 to replace. I didnt do it and had the drum brakes looked at by my own mechanic and there was no leak and brakes were good.
They always say first impressions are the best, well, as a first time buyer, from Allen Tires. They gave me a good deal on the tires and they were finished shortly after I dropped it off. Thanks again to the friendly mechanics and to Steve for A+ service.
I had an issue with my window not rolling back up one afternoon and took it to Pep Boys, they quoted me $560 for labor, the motor, and the regulator. After asking around, a couple people mentioned Allen Tire so I called them. Their quoted price was about $200 less and then when they called me to tell me the job was done, told me that the motor didnt need to be replaced. They are super friendly, do great work, and have reasonable prices. I plan on bringing my car here for all future work needed.
Their service cannot be beaten. They stand behind their name and service. I had a problem in Florida and they went beyond the call of duty. It is so wonderful to find people who care and are honorable. Thank you Billy!
Stopped in to see if someone could check my tires air level after the tire icon light went on in my car. only to check if air needed to be added. I was visiting from out of town and my mom is a long time customer of the car shop. I was told no and to come back on Monday. It was Saturday at noon and the shop would be open for 3 more hours. They definitely do not go above and beyond to help their long time customers
Theyre the BEST! No need to go to the rest.
Great
These guys are top notch. Professional, honest, courteous and all-around good people. Since moving back to the neighborhood almost two years ago I have taken my two vehicles to Allen Tire and been very pleased.
Picked up an unexpected bolt (yes, a bolt) in a tire and the fine folks at Allen were on the task. Called and was able to come in without an appointment. Not only did they repair the tire -- a run-flat tire which can require special care to fix -- the shop owner, Billy, came out and took the time to fully show how the repair process was done. His detail and assurance spoke of a level of service that one seldom finds these days. Billy told me that Allen Tire was a family-owned business -- and it shows! Stellar service. Excellent people. And they treated me like Id been a customer for life... which I will be for now. I like to keep it in the neighborhood, and its great to know that Allen Tire is truly close to home.Cheers to all at Allen!
Honesty and exceptional customer service and car repair.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, they were able to schedule an appointment for the next day with piratically no notice. Unfortunately, thats where the good ends. They inspected my car and changed the oil. I was a bit nervous that someone other than the dealership was tinkering with my car, but because Pearson Honda moved so far away, I opted for convenience. After inspecting my car, they informed me that my tires barely passed and that they should be replaced as soon as possible. I told them that Id hold off, thinking I would go to Costco to get better prices.Fast forward a few days, my check engine light came on (unrelated to Allen Tire). This time I decided to make the trip out to Midlothian to visit Pearson Honda. They found that all except my oil levels were low (Allen said that they topped off all of my fluids), and when I mentioned the tires, they were perplexed. They told me that the tread on the front was a bit lower than the back, but both were in very good condition, and simply recommended a rotation. I asked that another technician look at the tires, and he said the same thing as the first.Ive been coming to Pearson for 5 years and have never gotten bad service or advice from them. At least in my case, it seems like Allen Tire tried to pull a fast one on me to sell a few more tires.Buyer beware!!
My tire blew out yesterday on my way home on Cherokee Road. Luckily Allen Tire was right down the road from the incident. I drove my car there and told them what happened (45 minutes before they were to close up shop). The man at the front desk came out and inspected the tire. He was very friendly and cooperative during this stressful time. He informed me that it would be no problem to get it fixed and out of there in no time. 15 minutes later I was back on the road!! I was very impressed with the service!! Would highly recommend.
Great service, great prices, in and out quickly. Nate demounted 3 sets of tires I had, and handled everything in a professional manner, and was very knowledgeable. Will be bringing tires back soon!
Excellent, excellent service. Timeliness is awesome, and very honest with you. Way better than going to the dealership for maintenance. Good job guys, keep it up!
Go here if you want to find a truly honest mechanic. While I was getting an oil change at Firestone on Broad Street, Firestone notified me that I had a giant nail in my tire, and that it was unpatchable, and they began quoting me for new tires. I was not ready to buy new tires at that moment, so I risked driving the short distance home and my tire did not deflate at all. Later, I went to Allen Tire because of the good reviews and better prices, and I asked if they could take a look at it, patch it if possible, and if not I would get a new tire. The guy dropped what he was doing and went to look at it and pulled the nail out with a wrench. It was a small piece of metal, and was not even causing a leak. He tested the tire and found it to be perfectly fine, and said I was good to go free of charge. Glad to know I found Allen Tire and didnt buy from Firestone! Ill definitely be going back.
Made an appointment to get my car inspected. Person on phone was great. Got me in on time. People were helpful and kind. I dont feel like I was swindled into anything that I didnt need. Got my work done while I waited. Overall GREAT experience. Plus, they have WiFi in their waiting room so if you wait for your car work to be done, you wont get bored! Will definitely take my car there again!
I dont ever write reviews however under this experience I feel it was necessary to share. I went to Allen Tire to get my car inspection one morning in May 2019. I was informed within a couple hours that my 2016 Chrysler did not pass. They failed it due to a Lyft sticker on the front windshield which was an easy fix. In addition, they told me my front two tires needed replacement. I asked what the tread depth was and they said one was 5/32 and was fine to pass but the other tire was at 4/32 and couldnt pass inspection. I told them I had just bought the car a year and half ago in January of 2018 and that it was unlikely I needed tires so soon. They quoted me $400 for two new tires. I picked up my car, paid the $16 and got my failed inspection sticker.I eventually did bite the bullet and got two new front tires at another establishment who informed me under the law that tires that are 2/32 and under dont pass inspection. I took my car back to Allen Tire with two new tires and attempted to get my car inspected for free. Allen Tire was not interested in this and said I had to pay the $16 again. I was not having this so we got into a back and forth since Allen Tire was trying to sell me $400 worth of tires instead of just passing my car. After about 10 minutes of confrontation I waved my hand goodbye and said I was done.I took my car and found two respectable establishments across the street where I will be taking my car in the future. If Allen Tire would have been honest in the first encounter instead of trying to sell me tires, I may have returned later to get new tires with them. Based on my experience I have no trust in that business and hope you are careful and wary if you take your car to this place. Thanks for reading, namaste.
Good service that is reliable, quick and priced well. I have my tires on two vehicles from here. Good customer service as well.
They are the most honest group of mechanic. There about service not taking your money. The would have gotten more stars but the are super busy. So prepare to wait
They got the job done quickly, but I had to pay for it. I knew exactly what the broken part was, so I hoped they could simply swap it with a new part. The part they used was $70 more expensive than the same part at Advanced Auto, which is only yards away. They also charged me an additional $20 more than they quoted me for the part over the phone. They also charged me $35 to diagnose the problem, which they already knew because I told them. Add an additional $25 for miscellaneous shop supplies. I have no problem with making a good profit. Its the deception, huge part markup, unnecessary diagnosis charge, and vague miscellaneous charge that get me. Id just appreciate an honest and straightforward job.
I use them for tires and inspections. Recently they stayed open after hours to repair a flat in an emergency. Great people.
If I could give them anything less, I would. This place is an absolute joke and definitely the type of shop to try and take advantage of people who do not APPEAR to know much about vehicles. Initially I failed an inspection, when they asked if I wanted them to fix the issues at their shop I told them No, my boyfriend knows how to fix these things, their whole attitude seemed to change. My boyfriend fixed the issues listed, and I purchased four new tires from another shop. When I returned for a reinspection they failed me a second time and they said it was for tires! I told them there is a recipt in the glove box for four brand new tires, they quickly went on to tell me other things wrong with the vehicle. When all was said and done they wanted 700$ for something that would cost 60$ and about three hours to fix. When I picked my vehicle up after the second rejection I brought me boyfriend with me (who was a mechanic when he was younger, now working to be a psychiatrist.). My boyfriend asked them to show him exactly what was wrong and argued with the mechanics that they were wrongfully failing my car. I told my boyfriend to let it go, we could take the car elsewhere and have it rightfully passed. The mechanics in the bay area were actually POINTING and LAUGHING at us! The lack of professionalism at this place is astounding. I have never been treated so poorly, nor have I had someone actually point and laugh like they were doing. I wouldnt even recommend this shop to someone I hate.
The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate their genuine concern & willingness to help.
Was ready to get 4 new tires put on after dealer told me they were close to end of life cycle and one had a bad leak. Turns out dealer told me they had half the tread that they actually had so the guys at Allen patched my tire and I was out the door for a lot less than I had originally planned on spending.
Great service and quick turnaround
Had a misunderstanding with a clerk named Sean when getting my tires serviced. The Salesman / Manager who I usually deal with called me at home to clarify. Appreciate the call.
Super fast, professional, fair price. Will be using them again.
Wasnt welcoming, attentive and not reasonably priced. Receptionist didnt even take the time to understand what I needed done before giving me a quote and before the mechanics stated they cant do any new jobs for the day. Will never go back there.
Experienced and honest staff. They presented me with a number of options at various price points. Customer service oriented.
Best service and best place in RVA. You dont have to wait too long here.
Extremely friendly while I was there and they were definitely well experienced. Although, I was rejected for a number of things on my inspection that after visiting two other inspectors were deemed non-issues.
Fair and knowledgeable about auto repair. Trustworthy too. Been a customer for 20 years.
Always have a good experience here. They actually care about customer serivce and will take care o business, no funny stuff!
I`d been a loyal customer of this location since 2011. Each of my car work has been done here.I went to this location for replacing my low beam lights on a good summer day in 2015. I got my car back (with a $112.28 invoice total) by noon and couldn`t get a chance to check the focus of the lights. When I took my car out the same night the head lights were focusing way too much high rather than the road. I went to them for adjusting the focus, the store manager told its gonna cost $24 per head light. Even after telling them repeatedly that the job was not done properly, the manager didn`t acknowledge what I was telling him. They might have other customers to avail there service, but they lost me..
The staff were polite and the repair was completed quickly. The price wasnt great but in a fix you take what you can get.
I totally agree with the first review. They have changed. My inspection turned into $600+. I heard them trying to boost repairs to elderly customers and saw one guy laugh as they left. Please read other reviews. Most good ones were from before. Beware!
When I had a friend and a cousin both working here, I got the gold treatment. Theyre gone. It looks like the good reviews disappear along with my kin. I am not surprised at all. I should have left when the manager said to the mechanic to make sure to rip me off, he phrased it more delicately though. Still, thats insulting enough. Then I get conned into getting new brakes, the implication being a car that failed its safety test. I was shown a set of brake calipers worn to the metal, almost, as bait. They made the mistake of giving me my old pads back. Halfway worn brake pads that theyd replaced at a cost 4x the estimate I was given and which appeared binding, til I reread the legalese. After picking my pocket, I was curious if theyd hand torqued the lug nuts to factory spec. If I wound up with wobbly rotors in a month itd be because the lug nuts were so badly tightened that at least one could have come off on the highway. Thats a catastrophe. Thankfully my friend the mechanic was able to undo the damage. Every other Allen Tire is just as sketchy. If I had a lift in my garage, the bill wouldve been a fraction of the nearly $1,000 they disappeared from my credit line.Running a business so greasily is unacceptable. I am going to the BBC, since theres no one else to complain to with any teeth. So dont waste your time here. Youre probably better off not maintaining your vehicle than letting the grease monkeys here destroy something essential. If they dont want to be judged by their actions, then they need to start acting like the rest of the screwups could pretend that charging hidden fees and acting like a gypsy from South Carolina come to quote pave your driveway unquote. If I had my druthers I wouldve turned around and demanded my old pads be replaced, put the actual brakes I drove on in place, and discard the used calipers. The ones I used for 30 minutes, and the con game tool. For the usurious prices, Im going to the dealership, and I know their wifi works.Save yourself the nightmare, find someone, anyone else to work on your car.
Oil change took 50% longer and cost 100% more than the place across the street.
Excellent service and great attention to detail
Used Allen Tire regularly years ago but ultimately had to stop using them due to prices going from somewhat to extremely high.
Always fast and reliable service
I had a broken clock spring and they tried to charge me 600$ for a fix, claiming that the part was 415$. Found the same part from the dealer for 100$ and no price I could find online or anywhere else was higher than 125$. Extremely dishonest business practice and I am never going to use them in the future.
Been going there for 25 years now...
