My 2004 Subaru Legacy failed state inspection due to an exhaust leak. I took it to Express Auto Center to repair the exhaust flange. Steve worked with me to find a low cost solution if possible (the car is 17 years old & didnt want to put too much money into it). They did great work at a great price: $58. I would recommend EAC.

This is the best Auto center and representatives in the area! They are professional knowledgable and caring for all their customers. They treat you like family and if car was their own while fixing vehicle at reasonable cost! Steve the manager has great customer service and keep you updated on car completely honest and transparent. The laborers are excellent at what they do(fix cars) and the owner makes sure everybody gets taken care of with dignity and respect! If you have car trouble this is the place to go! Dropped of my 01 mustang to have an exhaust installed on Monday. I had tried Lyman and they wanted to charge $500 just to bolt on the exhaust kit I had provided so I decided to take my business elsewhere and went to Express Auto. Steve got me in at around 3. I knew it was going to be a bit of a wait. But, I wanted it done right. Long and short of it. The muffler need to be welded in after Steve gave me a call said that the clamps where not the correct one. He also need an extension for one of my 02 sensors. I brought it in to him and he had it ready. He walked me through a few other minor issues which I greatly appreciated. Will be bringing my car to Express Auto again. Especially after the great service that was provided. I mean Steve even gave it a 30 point inspection just to let me know everything was good to go. That is what you call a damn good mechanic.

While traveling from the Carolina Coast back home to NY I found myself at a Starbucks in Chester Va. with a vehicle that refused to turnover. After an evening in a hotel and AAA being of little assistance I called Express Auto and asked if they could possibly get me back on the road. Long story short, they did, same day. But more importantly they were extremely kind, thorough and went above and beyond to make my time in their care as pleasant as possible. Not only did they repair the vehicle, but they kept me apprised of each step and several times took me into the garage to show me what has happened and what was being done. They made an otherwise difficult 24hrs much more palatable for me and my travel companion Winston; a 7mth old puppy on his relocation journey. They were quick and helpful. My only issue is, when I picked up my car there was a liquid that had been spilled on the back passenger side window that dripped down onto my paint & there were white greasy handprints all over my black paint. I don’t expect my car to come out shining after an oil change and inspection, but they could have shown a bit more care with my car. They could have really messed up my paint job.

This was my first time coming here but from walking into the door and speaking with Steve and talking with the tech “Jake” of the service of my vehicle I felt that I was treated excellent. I needed a oil change and flat tire repair my vehicle was taken right away and I was out in a little over a hour. I spoke to Steve about issues with my tires wearing improperly and how a different shop said there’s nothing wrong he immediately went to my vehicle spoke with Jake and they both found the issue right away. He even took pictures to show me my issue. Very trustworthy service center and will definitely come back. Can’t find places like this anymore.

Blown away by this place! Took my truck here for a 4 wheel alignment and inspection after being referred by a mechanic. Express Auto Center far exceeded my expectations in every category...Aside from having the nicest, cleanest, most comfortable automotive shop/waiting room Ive ever been in; their commitment to customer service is beyond words...They drove me home while it was being worked on, then picked me up when they were finished- FREE of charge! (Wouldnt even accept a tip)Not to be outdone in the physical world, they even kill it in the digital domain! They emailed me the most complete and comprehensive inspection checklist Ive ever seen....There were 20 pictures of my truck at critical checkpoints in the report. They dont just tell you your brakes are okay, they tell you EXACTLY how okay they are with a close-up picture and measurements...Same thing with the tires and alignment.If it sounds like Im gushing- I am! I havent posted a review of anything in many, many years. However, this rare commitment to excellence these guys possess compelled me to do so! I always get the best care at Express Auto Center. They have a professional and friendly team with Junior and Lisa at the helm. They make everything easy with a courtesy shuttle if my car needs to be dropped off/picked up. If I choose to wait for my vehicle, they have a comfortable waiting room with desk/TV/coffee and snacks. I always receive a full report with photos via email to ensure I am aware of everything that was done on my vehicle. I highly recommend them!

We had recently moved to this area (within the last year). We were trying to find a reputable car repair establishment as we needed some work done on our vehicle, as well as for future repairs. A coworker of my husbands recommended Express Auto to him as he has brought his car to them for service. We went there & spoke with the Service advisor after calling first to see if they could diagnose our problem. We dropped our vehicle today, & theyll diagnose & give us a call when they know for sure what the problem is. The owner came out, was real friendly, service advisor was extremely helpful, as well as the front desk ladies!! I think that we have found our place! And we live like 5 minutes away. Lots of very positive reviews; we had read some before we went. Theyve been in business for a long time, a family business. Express Auto Center Inc. was probably the best business I have ever been to. I am from the D.C. area and I was driving through Richmond to get down to N.C., but my car ended up breaking down. After I had my car hooked up to a tow truck, I went to a couple places around, but they were all booked until the following week. I then called Express Auto Center Inc. and the owner, Lisa, picked up the phone. I asked if they were able to work on my car, but they were also completely booked. I explained to her my situation and how I was stranded in the area, she put me on a brief hold and came back to tell me that they would take me in and help me.When I got there, everyone was very nice and welcoming. The guy at the front desk, Steve, explained everything to me about the issues my car was having in a clear way that I could understand. He was extremely helpful. Coming from a person who always thinks certain mechanics take advantage of others who know nothing about cars, this business is very straight-forward and clear about the issues and is willing to take the time to explain them.After all was said and done, my car was unfortunately unable to leave that day due to certain issues. I was nervous being stuck in a random area I knew nothing about, but the owners Lisa and her husband Junior helped me immensely. Lisa got on the phone and started calling rental car places for me to get to my destination that day. She went through two companies until she found one for me. Junior then drove me to place to pick up my rental car and of course, with my luck that day, they did not have one for me. I had a reservation to pick another rental car up at the airport and Lisa was kind enough to drive me there to pick it up.Not only were they so helpful with all the issues with my car and all the help explaining everything, the entire business has some of the most genuine people I have ever met. I would recommend that anyone who is near this area, or even passing by, go here for all of your car needs. Thank you all so much for all of your help. These guys are amazing! We broke down on our way from North Carolina to Maryland. Our radiator just broke down completely, it had to be replaced . We obviously had to grab a hotel for the night and started searching for a good mechanic. We called them the next morning and took our vehicle over around 8:30 this morning. They have a courtesy shuttle that brought us back to our hotel, and even picked us up from the restaurant we ate at a few hours later after we checked out from our hotel. I have never had such a personable experience from any mechanic before. They were so genuine, the service was fast, and the prices were fair. Even the waiting area was nice and comfy! We highly recommend these guys to anyone. No matter what you need. As I type this review I am happy to report we are back on the road and well on our way to our destination. I recently bought my Tacoma in for service needingmultiple repairs. EAC performed a thorough inspection and advised not to moved forward with some items due to the safety condition of the frame of my Toyota. EAC could have performed the other work and charged me BUT put my safety and wallet first with their professional advice! This is the worst money gouging place you could go. If you want them to deny your inspection and have them try and charge you an arm and a leg to get so called needed repairs done then this is the perfect place. I will never be doing business with this company again.

We take and have taken all our cars to Express since 2007. They are great people and knowledgeable about all makes and models. They treat all customers like family. They inform you of any problems they have found, let you know how much it would cost to repair or replace. I have referred Express Auto Center to my family and friends.

Excellent customer service, detailed work, and after an entire summer of other mechanics trying to locate the cause of a water leak, they actually found and fixed it!! They also gave me a ride home and back to the shop once my car was ready. These people are the best.

These guys are great! The sales floor is always neat and clean, the bathrooms are nice (a rare thing in the industry), they have complimentary tea and coffee and snacks, and theres even a desk to do work while you wait. Prices are marginally higher than others, but the workmanship and the atmosphere are well worth it, and they always stand behind their work. A quality experience all around!

Super impressed from the time I even made the appointment (which you can do online!). The shop is VERY clean and the waiting area is complete with free coffee, free wifi and a little table for your kids! Took my vehicle in for a state inspection and an oil change - got a text with my full inspection report INCLUDING pictures of my vehicle, and they also verbally let me know what my vehicle needed and asked permission before doing any extra work. Ill never take my car anywhere else - thank you!

I made an appointment on Friday (8/11/17) for an oil change on Monday morning (8/14/17) at 8am- with the woman on the phone confirming I was the first oil change of the day. Thinking that since I arrived a couple minutes early and was told I would be the first oil change of the day, I would be out of there in no time. When checking in for my appointment, I confirmed with Steve that all of my tires be put at a specific tire pressure. After waiting until 9:10 am (over an hour later) I was called that my car was ready. I reconfirmed with the woman checking me out that my tires had been checked and put at the specific PSI I requested at drop off. After she confirmed with Steve that they had been, I walked out to my car and used my digital tire pressure reader to double check that all of my tires had air added to them since my sensors are bad so my “check tire” light is always on. All of my tire pressure readings were coming up low and at different numbers- clearly air had not been added like requested and confirmed. Now, almost an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment I am still at Express Auto Center with the owner explaining to me that the man working on my car is new and did not know to check the tire pressures with oil changes. This concerns me for a couple of reasons- when I checked in with Steve, he should have communicated with the mechanic working on my car the specific PSI that I requested so even if the new guy “forgets” he should have definitely done it for mine, unless the owner never even told the mechanic what I requested? Also, what mechanic does not know to check the tire pressure with a routine oil change when it is included in the service? If you are new, have a cheat sheet with you so you do not forget simple, yet important, steps of your job? Was he not trained correctly? If this man cannot remember to check tire pressures, how do I know he knows how to properly change oil? This is not a mistaken food order, or miscommunicated haircut, this is who knows how many errors on a vehicle that is my transportation- which is extremely important to me. How many other mistakes did he make on my vehicle or on previous vehicles he has worked on? I was given a gift card for my troubles which instead, the amount should have been taken off of my bill since of course the card went into the trash. I would never give someone a gift card or recommend an auto shop that hires mechanics that do not know how to simply do a routine oil change. Sure, people make mistakes, but taking over an hour and a half for a scheduled oil change and careless mistakes on my vehicle are not okay in my book. If you have gotten your car serviced here recently, I would seriously consider getting a second opinion on the work they did.

We are extremely selective about our service providers as we want both high service and high quality. Recently we had the opportunity to try Express Auto Center after another local service center was not able to perform our simple annual inspection and wanted to keep the car for the weekend! We were delighted with the Express Auto experience - from the drop off to the communication to the pick up! We will be back!

Express Auto Center is the Best!!! The owners, technicians and front desk staff go above and beyond to make sure you are treated like a V.I.P. At the end of a long Friday workday, I heard a loud pop under my hood, I got out of my truck and found the right front tire fell off. I immediately called Lisa and she had a tow truck at my location within 45 minutes. The shop is closed on the weekend and she promised that I would get a phone call Monday morning to discuss repair options. On Monday Kim called me and we discussed the repairs, they did not only tell me what was needed to repair the immediate problem but they also checked my vehicle and told me about potential problem areas that I would need to address as well. The ball joints, sway bar links, control arms and tie rods had to be replaced on my truck ON BOTH SIDES!!! I was mentally preparing myself to be out of commission at least a couple of days and I was thinking about alternate ways to get to my customers. Kim called me Monday afternoon and I was bracing myself for the bad news but instead she told me that my truck was ready to picked up and I did not miss any appointments or business committments!!! Express Auto Center is hands down the Go-To Auto shop for all of your Routine, Preventive and Emergency maintenance needs. And did I mention the price was fair and reasonable as well!!! We are traveling from Baltimore to Florida and we broke down yesterday. Our Jeep was was smoking and the check engine light had come on. We were in the Chester area and Polos garage recommended EAC to us. We pulled into the garage and Danny and Steve met us at the desk. Even though it was lunch time for the mechanics they pulled our truck in and started to look for the problem. They sent us to a little lunch spot next door and when we returned had figured out the issue. The owner and BJ took me back and actually showed me the issues. While I was in the garage I got to see several other vintage American cars they were working on. What a clean and beautiful shop! Junior the owner introduced us to his wife who also took time with us. We waited about an hour for our car to be fixed. The waiting room and bathrooms were so clean and comfortable. They even had hot coffee and treats for us while we waited. The cost was very affordable and the fact that they really figured out the problem (we had it looked at twice in the past and no one figured it out) was amazing!We were back on the road and made it to North Carolina before we needed a rest. Great service with a family like work environment. I love the fact that they give free inspection on car but dont try to pressure you to get the work done there and right now.

Staff was very friendly and even provided a courtesy shuttle to and from my home relatively close by. Courtesy full front to back look over provided although I just asked to check for a tune up. Pricing was expensive with focus on lengthy warranties. If youre looking for affordable auto care, I would not recommend. I was given an estimate of $140 just for spark plugs that cost less than $40 at advance auto. I knew that I needed to replace the front brakes and rotors which they confirmed but also said I needed inter-tire rods that was estimated for $500. When I took my car to my regular brake shop, they would have charged me less than $400 but said I only needed to replace my brakes not the inter-tire rods. A month and a half later my car has been running smooth without ever replacing the tire rods. So I find the mechanics knowledge questionable. Also the shuttle took more than two hours to pick me up after they were done with my car and I was late picking my child up from daycare. I did not enjoy this experience and is still seeking a complete repair shop to stick with.

I asked for them to change my wheel bearings because of a noise while driving. Most shops would have probably changed the bearing and charged me, but Steve and Chris took me into the shop and explained to me that my bearings were fine but just needed to be adjusted. Saved me a few hundred dollars and got the job accomplished. Great work, great business, great customer service.

For our older vehicles you cant afford to fix everything or you will go broke and Express Auto Center does a great job of assessing what you really need to get fixed and what can wait. Great service and friendly staff. I had two 20+ year old vehicles which always need something to keep them up to Virginia inspection standards and I never felt taken advantage of. If you have a broken down piece of junk dont blame the garage that it doesnt pass inspection.

If you are looking for a no-nonsense straight -shooting auto center then you need to check out Express Auto. I have been to many centers that either had good service or reasonable pricing. I have now found a home for my vehicles that has honest assessments, excellent service, and fair pricing. Express has been good place for service for me. They service three different vehicles for me. Been going for three years. Little things have been issues lately with service. Grease stains on headliner, leaving tools in vehicle interior, not putting interior back together. They are not the cheapest but they are good mechanically.

I believe this auto shop sets the standards. Customer service is phenomenal and the actual service is too. Making this shop my go- to. Highly recommended.

$43 to plug a tire and wanted $21 for replacement of side marker bulb. Unless you have $ to throw away!!! Thanks for calling/responding . The tire as I said wasnt that great (need replacing soon),So if they had gave me an estimate my opinion would have maybe been different. As far as the bulb-took less than 5 minutes .

Ive been using this auto shop for almost a year and always have wonderful service. Recently they tackled a bad sensor for my air conditioning which required a lot of labor. They had to take the whole front end of my car apart and put it back together. Because it took awhile they had a rental arranged for me. They care about you and your car. Been there couple of time. Its one of those repair shops I can send my grandma and be comfortable that she wont be cheated.All employees here are very helpful and professional. MC, Mike and Junior the owner are the ones I could remember. Juniors philosophy is to get your car fixed, not get your money. He worked relentlessly to correct the problem that was caused by another shop.They may not be the cheapest shop, but theyre surely one of the few you can trust or may be the only one in the area. This shop is a hidden gem. Looked at other reviews of the place and I was glad I stopped in - the service and service team was quick, professional, and polite. The place itself is very clean (which is rare for an auto shop Ive found). Its set up with customers in mind- TV, a desk, wifi, even snacks, and its spacious so youre not sitting like sardines in a can (which if youve ever been to a midas or jiffy lube place you know how they cram the chairs in the tiny room). Best part? I didnt have to pick between paying more money or choosing a clean/professional shop, I paid the same price I wouldve if I had stopped at any other quicklube!

I want to personally thank Lisa Bailey of Express Auto Center, Inc. in Chester, for working with my friend, Danielle regarding her sons car. It needed a lot of work and would not pass inspection. Danielle is struggling with Cancer and being able to only work part time, so this unplanned necessity was a problem. Where another car shop quoted her $3,000 for just ONE of the problems, Express Auto did ALL the work needed for much less. Thats what HONESTY is all about! Anyone living in Chesterfield, south Richmond and the Tri-Cities areas needs to make Express Auto Center their maintenance and repair shop of choice. Ever want to feel pencil whipped and ignored just go here. I set an appointment to have a very important company truck inspected on Tuesday and they did not even look at it till Thursday. They did however made sure they found something, a very tiny something, questionable something, an expensive something, the same something they found on another of our vehicles of another brand. If you have extra time and extra money make sure to get all your work done here.They can help take up all of both.

I had shocks and a state inspection done on a rv. Everyone was very informative on any question we ask, there prices are very affordable, and they are very professional.

Friendly staff, but after a $117.32 oil change I hoped they would at least top off my vehicle fluid levels. Nope, not this place. (The invoice says it is included.) Not going back.

When I broke down on my way to Florida the team at express got me back on the road fast. They went far beyond what I expected in service. Price was very fair. Recommend them highly.

Overpriced and I do not like being taken advantage of especially when you consult with a mechanic and end up being quoted a much more reasonable price. Will absolutely not frequent this shop again. Went in for an inspection and was quoted $1,675.00 in repairs beginning with paying $375.00 for brake pads and rotors just to pass inspection.
