Great cafe with tasty food. Coffee is always made perfectly and the bagel sandwiches are soooo good! Looking forward to when they fully reopen!

Greenbriar is such a cute little cafe with good coffee! Their seasonal drinks are super fun as well! I always come here whenever Im in the area, and Im never disappointed. The cafe itself was super intimate and a perfect place to sit and chill or study, but at the moment they are only offering to-go. Either way, I love this place!

I came across this place via IG and saw it was Black Owned and that’s the only reason I need to visit. I got the Lavender Cold Latte and it was yummy 🤤 my hubby got the apple pie latte and the vegetarian breakfast burrito and it must have been good because he didn’t say a word. Price was good and service was lovely. Definitely make the trip. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I didn’t actually go inside due to still COVID distancing.

When you get the sausage egg and cheese, bring it to work and people keep commenting how good it smells as they pass by your desk. There is a reason why I’ve been coming here for almost a decade. Keep it up J.

The menu is not up to date, they ask you to view/purchase items via their Facebook page. This is said to be caused by the pandemic in 2019. Owner hasnt updated menu to accommodate for pandemic.

Im a Huge Fan of The Fan! The Fan is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! Turkey, Swiss, Avocado, Dill Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato and Onion on Wheat Toast! Superb! Great service, wonderful owners! An absolute gem in the heart of our city!

It really is one of those places that you can just go in and relax.I dont think I have said anything about this place since the pandemic hit. They have reopened recently with a kiosk like take out service. No cash is exchanged and everyone is wearing masks. They have even set up a tent to give patrons a place to wait that is relatively comfortable while keeping socially distant.Yes they will turn you away if you dont have a mask, and no they wont take cash. They are still kicking out great good and drink on their limited menu so dont hesitate to give them a try!

Oh my this place is delicious. We got two sandwiches, one bagel and one lunch and they both were so good. Coming from a family of chefs and bakers the bread is baked perfectly! The star of the show was the Sfogliatella, it’s an Italian flakey layered pastry usually eaten for breakfast filled with a delish orange candied peel ricotta mixture. They are the only ones in Richmond I’ve found with this and done right and being Italian and having had these in Italy..you don’t want to skip this. They were super accommodating with making them the day we called so they were super fresh and delish. Take them home and crisp them up more in the oven when you eat and damn so good. Thanks for being awesome and we will be back for more soon.

Best coffee shop around! I have been here 3 times in the last week to get their rose tea latte. Delicious. The pancakes and morning bagel are also delicious. Its a bit of a wait for the food so not great if you are in a rush but definitely worth the wait for good delicious food!

We went on a Tuesday morning while they werent busy yet waited thirty minutes for our order and was told it took so long because our order was large. It was just three breakfast sandwiches and two iced coffees. The food was all different than what I ordered. Wrong bread, wrong cheese, wrong meat. That wouldnt have been a big deal if the food was actually edible. The cheese was rubbery (think cheap American cheese product) and definitely not cheddar, the bacon was burnt black, and the sausage was a literal chunk of greasy ground pork that was undercooked. That sandwich went in the trash immediately and the rest followed after a few bites. The coffee tasted like old hot brewed coffee that was repurposed as iced coffee. To sum it up, I literally threw $30 in the trash.

This is a great local coffee shop and cafe. It has wonderful coffee and really good food. Whether youre eating lunch or dinner, you cant go wrong with the food. Everything is great. The only reason for a slightly lower rating is that the staff isnt always super friendly and although there is plenty of seating, it isnt the most comfortable. But, still a very nice place for breakfast, lunch, or a place to work over coffee.

I love this place! They have such an amazing selection of fresh food and drinks for such a small place! They also have this gluten free polenta bread that is to die for! The breakfast sandwiches and lattes are my favorites, but my partner says everything is good! Skip the Starbucks downtown and hit this place instead! From the food to the service, you wont be sorry!

I just had a very rude and inconsiderate experience with an employee of this cafe. I was so happy to return to this place after having the best food and even brought in new customers. I ordered the same exact meal as I did last time but when I was ready to pay, I noticed the price was a little higher than last time. When I ordered my meal, I requested extras of the dill mayo and dressing on the side and the lady checking me out told me that they up charge for them which caused the price difference. I told her that the guy that took my ordered didn’t mention there would be an up charge for them and when I requested them last time, they were given to me complimentary. She basically told me that it didn’t cost that much more so why is it such a big deal for me not to pay for them. Again, I expressed to her why I wasn’t going to pay for them and asked her to remove them from my bill. She responded with an attitude and kept repeating that it’s only a couple of dollars more. She continued to give me awful service, rolling her eyes and didn’t even say anything else to me for the rest of the interaction and on my way out. How inconsiderate could you be? What if I didn’t have any other money to my name? I would’ve appreciated if she just at least comped them for the inconvenience since she didn’t think the price difference was much. That was just awful service and this definitely caused you to lose a customer.

This place was EXCEPTIONAL.The coffee was perfect, milk temps and taste in their espresso blend was flawless. The atmosphere is very open and lively.Customer service was outstanding.

Fantastic place! The staff is happy to provide suggestions, and I love that some of the sandwich selections are named after the owners family. Great veggie options, and better yet, the coffee is sourced from a local roaster just blocked away.

The coffee is good (from Rostovs), the staff is friendly, but, boy, is the service sloooow. It took a half hour to get our food order out -- and there was only one table in front of us. I am withholding a higher rating until they get their act together.

The atmosphere is great for relaxing, studying or a small quiet meeting. The food at the Greenbriar is spectacular. Delicious and fresh, with amazing flavour combinations. The menu has a huge variety, from breakfast favourites to salads and tantalizing wraps. The chefs specials are my favourites; Im always surprised, and never disappointed.

Staff is kind and caring, dining experience feels really homey/ personal. Highly suggest getting the Fan sandwhich

I got the Main Street (BLT) and orzo salad, and this is one of the best BLTs that Ive ever had! The roasted tomato was delicious and the bacon was actually crispy and so tasty. I will be coming back for this sandwich! I picked around the red onions in the orzo salad, but that was good too!

So today I had to deliver a cooler to Greenbriar Cafe.Being that this was my last delivery for today I was asking Mr Green about the type of food that was served because I planned on purchasing something...after installing the cooler and getting everything in place he had 2 to go boxes ready for me and my helper. In only got 1 bite of the sandwich because I have it to my fiance so she wouldnt have to cook but man I tell you it was one of the best Ive ever tasted ....and he wouldnt even take my.money for the food.

Another reviewer says Quaint and I think thats the perfect description. A great place to go to if youre trying to go somewhere to get a coffee and not an in your face aesthetic experience. Not to say its ugly by any means its cute with vintage style posters on the walls. The coffee in my experience can be slightly inconsistent based on the barista but I got one of the best cappuccinos of my life here.

Much better than Lamplighter. They play good music here.

Ive lived in Richmond, Va for about five years now and this is always my go to coffee shop. I love the ambiance, the fantastic food and coffee, and the friendly staff. When I go, I usually go in the morning and will get a coffee and a Morning Bagel (various bagel types offered, avocado, tomato, and either cream cheese or hummus). This bagel is one of the best things Ive tasted (and I usually dont like breakfast at all). They also have fast service, so if youre in a rush to work or school, then this is the place to go!If youre coming in from out of town or simply want to get coffee or food from an amazing local business, then try this place out! I guarantee that you wont be disappointed!

Super chill atmosphere, very warm lighting. The staff is nice and they play good music. Its a little on the pricey side so dont go there with only a few bucks for two coffees a salad and sandwich, which were amazing I might add, cost $26.

We stopped here while on a food tour and it was fantastic! Everything was fresh, homemade and delicious! The chef is clearly passionate about his craft. We’ll be back!

I enjoy getting breakfast bagel sandwiches here, but service is slow and keeps me away during my busy hours in the morning.

The food is made fresh to order and the drinks are consistently well made and delicious (they have coffee and tea, even tea lattes)! Not to mention to cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. If you are around the VCU/RVA area, definitely stop in and grab something to eat and warm up your day with a cozy cup of whatever you like!

Great coffee, but our sons breakfast burrito was cold on the outside. Be sure to warm the tortilla in a frying pan before rolling up the burrito!

So my fiance brought me home a sandwich and chips after stopping at this place to make me a delivery. After hearing the sandwivh had ridden all over Richmond I was less than enthusiastic until he ooened the box and the smell of some sort of spicey teriyaki caught my attention. I re-toasted the bun, heated the marinated chicken breast and sauteed onions, so moist it was falling apart good. I reassembled it all with tomato and arugula and I am in love. I could not find it on the menue, but if its not it needs to be. Cant wait to visit in person for a fesh version of something deliscious.
