Really generous portions and wonderful, friendly service. We got a large jerk chicken and a small curry. Plus a side of plantains. The cabbage was the best part. The curry was a little bland but everything else was delish. Would eat there again. Wanted the fried chicken but it was sold out. They said come early for that.
The oxtails are very fatty and are mostly bones. If you do not like that kind of stuff then do not get your oxtails from here. The workers are also very rude. The cabbage is unseasoned and the chicken patties are the same kind that you get from food lion. I tried to get a refund or at least get the food cooked over again and was not accommodated at all. I let the woman know that I did not eat the food and still have it if I need to show them. She hung up the phone and laughed. The two trays of oxtails were $46.00. It is not worth it. They were also out of everything and did not have much variety. I do not advise coming here. They also tried to dump a lot of sauce on it to cover up the fat and bones.
I can’t believe I didn’t rate this place sooner or took pics as much as I come here for the delicious Jamaican food. Portions are very generous, this is a pic of the Brown Stew Chicken and it’s a small, very moist and juicy chicken. Always fresh food! Right now it’s a truck that stands beside the brick and mortar that will have their soft opening in July. One of the best food trucks in RVA in my opinion
We usually get oxtails, curry chicken, or stew beef with rice and peas and coco bread. It is almost always good. I tried the jerk chicken wings for the first time my last visit and I will be getting those as an appetizer from now on. They were seasoned great.
Great food and great service. We were welcomed to the family on our first visit and I will definitely go back again. Jerk chicken was amazing
Super good Mom & Pop place that never disappoints. Their portions are pretty good for small and large will feed you for like 2 days.
Oof, please correct your website with the pricing. If I recall correctly, my small oxtail tray was $14.99, I don’t know how I feel about paying this much for a small portion. There’s other place that’s much more reasonable price with a larger portion on E Cary👀
All I can say is whatever meal you get, you MUST get the pineapple cake with it!!! No....but for real this cake is ridiculously delicious. And the staff are very kind and personable. This spot has made it to my preferred list.
So glad to see this place open up. What a cool building. The food is so good. Do yourself a favor and swing by!
If you want authentic delicious cuisine. This is definitely the best choice 👌
Idk what he does, but this is the BEST Jamaican food that Ive tasted since moving here back in 2014. Coming from New york its hard to find great authentic Jamaican food. I thought I was sitting in my sons grandmas house eating her food. This man can cook! Rice wasnt mushy, cabbage was very well balanced in taste and tenderness, oxtail was delicious. Everything was excellent. This is my go to Jamaican spot! Great prices, quality and quantity!!
I ordered pepper steal it was tender an all but lack taste the rice was cooked to perfection an the cabbage was delicious ...also had the homemade fruit punch omg I should have gotten too ..Will definitely be back to try something else
Great, quality food and service every time. You must try the homemade fruit punch.
Lovely experience and The food was so good I had the fried chicken
The friendly team behind this truck make some of the best Jamaican around. They make great, flavorful food and serve healthy portions. Small plate is perfect for lunch or dinner and a large can easily be split. The jerk chicken is a favorite but the curry chicken, pepper steak and brown stew chicken (or beef) are all equally delicious. Cant go wrong at this spot.
Jerk chicken was delicious. Definitely get the corn bread with it
It was not good at all they gave u a good amount but there oxtail is rough and I ask for all white rice and the gave me all cabbage smdh and there lemonade is good but the food no it take like they cook there meet on the grill
Chicken and cabbage was good but she need to change the rice
Best Authentic Jamaican food in Richmond. You get good portions on your plate for the price, this place has never been a disappointment....im always satisfied, this has become the only place I will go to for GOOD Jamaican food. Yall gotta give this place a try!
Great customer service and home cooked food,Good Jamacian food; yes good cook; so far so good no complaints wait a minute oh yes its 1 complaint the area under contruction and the road closed so not convenient to drive up
The finishing product might be good; but its the process u need to watch to get to the finishing product. I dont think, from my experience, that they know much about food safety and help risks. Cross contamination is something not exercised in the food franchise for Jamaicans. You cant trust someone that prepare their food without gloves and someone that cant respect their customer.
Stopped here for a bite to eat after a long hard day of work. I got the Jamaican steak in rice w/cabbage and oh my God it was Amazing the! the steak melted in your mouth the cabbage was amazing everything was great all! n all I give it a ten. If you ever around there you must try it
Really kind! So excited to see they are opening up a restaurant & bar! Will definitely be back to try the homemade fruit punch and ox tail next! 🙂
I found hair in my food and they told me I could not get my money back
The woman who runs the truck is SO sweet!!! And the food was absolutely amazing. 5 stars from hubby and me for sure.
Food was good, cabbage could use a little more seasoning
This family owed business is very clean and great food and service Mary and the rest of the family have been awesome since being on Main Street and now Semms on the South Side. Continue supporting this business.
Superb food, excellent customer service. They take care of their customers one order at time! Love it
I found hair in my oxtails and the lady was very rude and I asked to get my money back and she told me No refund
The food is delicious and the staff is so friendly. I have had the curry and jerk chicken so far and it was incredible. The jerk sauce has the perfect amount of kick to it. The hand squeezed limeade and homemade tropical fruit punch are also a must try. Best Jamaican food in Richmond!
The food was good customer service great Ill go back again when Im In Richmond
Was kinda disappointed. Food was bland...not much Flava! Ill try them one more time since they were just opening.
I wish she was still near me on Main street. This lady is so good. Her food is fulfilling and the taste is perfect. Thank you!
The chicken roti was delicious
WOW! First time the fam visited this spot and YUM YUM YUM. Dang I haven’t had food like that off a food truck since I was in Texas. Glad to patronize black business✊🏽.... Food was Very Good. Price was Very Good. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I pray your store flourishes through time. Thank You for feeding us. I live in Hampton and the Jam spots are TRASH glad to come back home and have good food and NOT WAIT ALL DAY🤟🏽💕
I ordered curry chicken, oxtails and plantains. The plantains were delicious. The rest of the food was good as well but I think it could have used a little more seasoning/spice. I ordered small servings but it was enough for two people to eat out of both. I would definitely go there again and I do recommend this spot.
Hearty food and great service! I got their curry chicken and fried plantains.
Love this place, try to go every time I step by!
Im so glad that they have moved near me the food is always delicious I love them
Good was good....they need to work on their oxtails..Ive had better
So so good
Love the speedy service. Great food and people. Looking forward to when they are able to open their restaurant building.
Best Jamaican food in Richmond. Super friendly....only give 3 stars because of the portion size. I always order large when i visit because I like to have some for later but havent been able to do that since ive been visiting here.
They were an awesome source for Jamaican food until today. Went to the location the owners were not there they had two men working. Not only were they rude but could not even comprehend a proper order resulting in having to leave my order and they kept my money. Horrible horrible service. You cannot serve Jamaican food and represent Jamaica with people who have no clue how to take a proper order or provide good service. The owners need to be present to serve and not have surrogates who are incompetentPoor poor service today
Delicious beef and chicken patties! Great filling and buttery flakey crust.
Food is always good
Beautiful People Excellent Jamaican Food😍
The best jerk chicken with sauce in Richmond. Omg!!! The pepper steak is pretty good. However, not as good as the Jamaica house pepper steak. I cant wait to try their other items.
The food was amazing. The owners were very friendly and patient. Most definitely will be returning
I really like there pepper steak
I would highly recommend this place for any of your catered events. We have used them twice now for large gatherings and that is all people remember and still talk about a year later...how great the food was! Last weekend we had a large party with people coming from multiple states, again everyone is still talking about the food. Thanks for offering great quality food and a professional business!!
I wouldve showed the pics of the food but that plate aint stand a chance
THE BEST JAMAICAN FOOD EVER!!!
This is where its at was in Richmond for work they took care of me all week I got the oxtail and jerk chicken combo. Def will stop in again next time.
Do not eat here. If you do get some antibiotics.
Really nice guy. I only picked up n deliver have not had the food as of yet
So proud of you all for securing a location. Food is good and the price is right
Im not from Richmond but i will definitely hit this spot whenever i come back. Plenty of food, good price, delicious!
The jerk chicken is phenomenal. Perfect flavor and spice and falls off the bone. Cabbage and rice also very good. A small platter is perfect for a lunch size, but for a couple dollars more you can get a big platter to split or take home. Super friendly staff. Love when I see this cart around RVA!
Best Jamaican food I’ve had in Richmond so far. There was a little wait for the food but it’s definitely worth it !! The oxtails and jerk chicken.... 💣💥!!
Food is bomb!! 🔥🔥 I love this place!
My fiance and I visited this place on a whim, because I had never had Jerk Chicken before. The staff is super friendly, and the music is amazing. You have to be patient waiting for your food, but its more than worth it. I ordered the large Jerk Chicken, and my fiance ordered the large curried chicken. We were surprised at how much food they give you. We ate our lunch, and took the rest home. I got 2 more meals out of my order, and he got 1 more out of his. Thats saying a lot, because the food is so good you want to keep eating even after youre full. We also ordered 4 beef patties, and they were amazing reheated in the oven at 300° for about 25 minutes. I highly recommend this place. We live over an hour away, and will be back frequently.
Amazing! Absolutely delicious. We have already planned our next visit.
Food was very tasty. Had the Oxtail and stew chicken.
So good. I wish I could eat here everyday🤤
The best.
Usually pretty decent portion sizes for the large curry chicken but this time the size was very small and skimpy for the large. If this keeps up I wont be back. Also I called to inform them of this and nothing was done about it.Had to downgrade to 2 stars. This place is really losing its luster. Portion sizes are getting smaller and smaller and food taste just okay. Only one person working...long wait. I hope they get it together. Probably my last visit. Jamaican House is better imo.
Finally stopped by this place after driving by a million times. Great place to get some food to go. Had the oxtails, amazing stewed sauce. Will be back to try the jerk chicken but I have a feeling everything there will be amazing. Cooks are legit cooking just like home.
Delicious & friendly
This one time I was eating at Jamaican Cafe on Wheels and accidentally dropped my wallet. A few hours later I get a text from my ex-girlfriend telling me that I left my wallet at Jamaican Cafe on Wheels. After returning to the business I was informed the owners found me on Facebook, found a picture of me and my Ex, and asked her to send a message to me on their behalf. This is customer service you will simply not receive anywhere else. The owners are always delightful and the food is always amazing.I cannot reccomended this restaurant eneough.
Best Jamaican food I’ve had in a long time. The gentleman that took my order was very nice and friendly. The jerk chicken was delicious. I got the small portion and it was a lot of food. I’ll definitely be back soon
Excellent tasting food!
High prices and small portions with unimpressive flavor
I’m from New York and this taste like it came from 233rd white plains rd, and great services I really enjoy my food every time 👍😋🥰🤤
Ordered veggie patties- with hardly any filling, all dough. Chicken was fine- not memorable. Peas and rice overly salty and no undertone of sweet/coconut, cabbage al dente and crunchy. Cocoa bread was the best item purchased.
MY FAVORITE JAMAICAN RESTAURANT!! Cant wait until they open the building!!
I had to change my review. My second and third visits didnt seem like the same place. The second visit my oxtails were under cooked, very tough and rubbery. I told them about it my third visit and found out they are cooked somewhere else and bought to the truck. The third time my portions were so small I decided to return to the Jamaican House for my cravings. I really dont care for the attitude you get from the Jamaican House but my oxtails are always cooked good. Just wish they would be a lil more professional and better portions of food.
Blown away. I was expecting decent, but this was downright delicious. Sometimes people make Jamaican curries super oily, but not here. This is the real deal. Fresh, full of flavor, and so satisfying. Ive been looking for great curry since I moved to rva two years ago, and finally found it here. We will be back .
Best in the city and the best Oxtails & Curry Chicken I’ve tasted. Period. Also the customer service is excellent and it feels good to know I am “valued” as a customer. These other spots need to take notes! So I WILL NOT be going to any other spot for Jamaican Food.
Full of flavor. I highly recommend.
This food is amazing! I would highly recommend it. The chicken with cabbage, rice and beans are delicious!!!
First time tryn it...I know the pineapple coconut cake HIT!!!
Cabbage was awesome!! It was crispy, clean & crunchy. However, oxtails were smaller than Jamaican House & Queens (appeared to be left overs from previous days).
Curry goat, rice and cabbage..delicious
This was my first time and I wasn’t much of a fan. My coco bread tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. My jerk chicken, cabbage and rice (and beans) tasted like there was little to no seasoning. I would recommend Carena’s over this place any day. Unless I just came on a bad day?
Get them to cater your events, M&F Jamaican Cafe on Wheelz is amazing! Stop by to taste their food, love these guys! Lots of flavor and service with a smile.
The food is delicious. Thus far, I have tried their curry goat and jerk chicken. Highly recommended.
The best authentic Jamaican food truckaround..greata prices
