The place is very nice and clean. They have different kinds of meat options. Very much enjoyed it. Especially the steamed eggs. The workers were friendly and kind.
It was my first time trying Korean BBQ, we got the all you can eat and it was very good. The sauces were flavorful, meats were good, and the service was great. We cooked our own meats and between the 3 of us ordered several plates worth so we definitely got our moneys worth of food. The soju that we had after our meal was very smooth and tasty, I think I liked it better than sake. It was a great experience, Ill definitely be going back.
Oh my God it was amazing I want to cry the service was so fast too. I got the combo b for 2 people best and worst mistake of my life. I ate so much I went blind for a minute all delicious still left with 2 full take out boxes.
Lovely authentic Korean food across from a strip club 😉. The food is delicious and service is good. It is delicious but a bit on the pricy side. However you do get a lot of side dishes and authentic Korean food does come at a cost. The meat from the regular menu is much better than the meat from the all you can eat.
Our first time here. I saw the reviews and photos looked good, so we tried this place. I’m sad to report that it was disappointing. First off, the server dropped 2 waters, a menu, and walked off. Didn’t ask if we would like a high for our 16month baby. We had the all you can eat for about $30 each, for 1½ hours time limit. Service dropped off the first round of meat and never came back. We waited 30 minutes and went to look for her to ask for the 2nd round of meat. By then we had about 30 minutes to grille the meat and eat it. We ordered some $12 noodles for our baby, but it was cold by the time we got it. We constantly had to wave the server to get some more sides and drinks. We order soups and she dropped off some steam egg thing. Caught an attitude after we told her that’s not our order. So the time limited all you can eat is not worth it. When it came to pay, that was when we were notified that their card machine is down and it had to be cash only. Thank goodness I had some cash on me. There were no signs posted for cash only, so beware. I do not recommend this place. Service is not good, exhaust ventilation is poor, and food is just for looks.
The food is great and plentiful, The chef cooks everything fresh at your table. Our table was covered in many dishes of Korean delicious food...and when I say covered...NO EXAGGERATION !
Authentic korean BBQ but was not ordering all you can eat. I was just trying to order some galbi for my daighters but the price was outrageous for the portion.
The barbeque combo is fantastic. Delicious meat options cooked at your table and an expansive selection of sides. Great value and a great meal.
For the food I would give a 4. The bulgogi and marinated meats were delicious, but everything else was pretty bland. As for the service, I would give it a two. The server that I had would throw all of the meat into the cooking range at once, would try to cut the meat for me, and wouldnt listen when I try to say that I would rather do it myself. I felt like I was being rushed and not listened two. Also, they shut off the light before we even left the table, even though it was in the middle of dinner time and nowhere close to closing.
The all you can eat for $30 is amazing
We really enjoyed the Korean Garden for a Mothers day lunch. The service was good and so was the food. We wanted to try a new place and we were not disappointed. We had the all you can eat course B and since our little one was 5 she was free. I was surprised how well our little one liked everything, even the side of dried anchovies.
Only giving two stars because the staff treated us well.Should be a one star review because I killed 2 cockroaches on the wall attached to our table while we ate. We left very quickly after that.
The food was fulfilling. It was a great evening experience.
We made a reservation 2 hours before for a group of 10 and when we arrived they made us wait 20 minutes. The waitress gave us a table with one small grill and threw the menus at us. She did not act like she wanted to work there and did not treat us like customers but like beggars. We left without ordering anything.
Very friendly and attentive service. We ordered the AYCE Korean BBQ. Very meaty pork belly, the beef bulgogi was well marinated. Plenty of non stop bon chan. Everyone at the table had to get the same BBQ package. Make sure to go with super hungry people because the portions are quite large. I had to ask our server to give us half portions and still couldnt try all of the 8 different meats that came with package A for $29/person. Will go back with my regular AYCE group who like to tear it up 😁
Mediocre food rude service. They run away from the table as fast as they can so you can’t order more stuff! it’s so funny and ridiculous! There were 8 of us for my birthday so we got the all you can eat option and they charge extra $3 for certain sides like eggs and rice-.- there were multiple waiters and none interactive with us at all except the first guy that asked us what we wanted to drink. The meat was flavorless and only gave us three little sauces which I had to ask three times for a sauce refill. It’s a nice experience but wouldn’t go again.
Great spot for k-bbq. Market is nice as well.
Loved this place ! it has a decent set up, the people are nice and really cater to you, and the food is spot on ! The only problem I had was with the meat(bulgogi) . You pay so much for so little . I splurged a bit for the meat but the small amount recieved was very unexpected. I definitely wont be ordering that again. Other than that, great food and kind people ! 😊
I really liked the food here. I didnt know what a lot of things were however no one made me feel stupid for asking. I was even encouraged to ask questions because they didnt mind. I really appreciated that. Service was amazing. I will be returning. I think this was Combo B ($59). My daughter & I shared...couldnt eat it all - this picture only shows a third of the meat offered with this combo. Oh..and the music was everything- I think Im a BTS fan now!
Food is ok,especially during Covid 19.the waitress is too rude,I think she dislike customer eating there, throwing manu, throwing plate,My kid got scared, never come back until they changed waitress.
Brought back so many memories of eating in asia super friendly staff food was amazing
While it was a decent experience and something out of the ordinary I would say that the food itself was just so so. The reviews regarding the less then friendly staff were spot on. We were there for dinner at 5pm and I was early. I wound up being the only customer and while not rude not the staff was definitely not friendly. There were 4 adults and two children in our party and we ordered the all you could eat for $29/person. We were told to pick our first two meats. From then on we had a guy at our table who took care of us. Refilled what we wanted and was generally pretty nice. It was all you can eat but not really. We asked for more of the cheesey corn and were told that was NOT all you could eat but an upcharge...they didnt even give you enough for the tablr to try. Same with some egg dish that looked interesting. I say interesting because I didnt get to try it.Besides the experience itself the only thing really noteworthy were the dipping sauces. Im not a sauce person but the majority of the meat had no seasoning whatsoever. The ones that did were too sweet for my taste. And theres the catch. Even if you dont like it you have to eat it or they charge you more for not finishing it.
Very good food. Combo B was enough for 2.
Great service! They allowed us to cook it ourselves. We shared Combo#B and it came with all the Meats and 3 Shrimp! They also have Baek Se-Ju which i HIGHLY recommend if you havent had it! And we really enjoyed the K-Pop music videos they were playing!
It’s expensive but don’t worth the money !The owner automatically add the tip in our bill but we have 3 adults and 1 little girl and we didn’t have the server to cook the meat for us at the table, the owner is terrible customer service and don’t care about coming back Customer !!!
Good Korean food with a cool lil market attached
Lot stuff. Good prices. Excellent food
Service is not good, food is excellent.
We drove an hour and 15 min to eat here. Food was ok but if you have more than 4 people be expected to pay a 20% gratuity. Unlike other Korean bbq places they stand over you and cook, which is really awkward.
I have visit the restaurant but they have a food market on the side. Everything was clean and well organized. The clerk was friendly. However it would be nice for them to accept Ebt, especially during this pandemic.
Food can get 3stars,service is one, waitress isn’t friendly,I wonder why the waitress work there with rude attitude,if you don’t like the job, customers eat there, pay there, pay you tips, not beggars
It was really good for my first Korean BBQ place. Next time Ill bring at least two more friends so we can actually finish all that food. Two mouths werent enough 😂
I WAS EMBARRASSED TAKING MY PARENTS HERE. Absolutely disgraceful. Food was good if we overlook the frozen seaweed salad, them burning the chicken, and expecting us to share soup with no bowls. Service was AWFUL, they refilled other peoples sauces, and there was just 2 other parties. AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT AWFUL SERVICE.
To begin with I think the food was decent for a good price it was just two of us, but at the end we purposely did not leave a tip because it wasn’t all that great as many reviews mentioned it, when I was walking out of the place we were chase down because we didn’t leave a tip and where asked in a rude way why we didn’t leave a tip. That is the first time I was questioned why I didn’t leave a tip. I will most likely leave a tip if I feel that the server was very attentive and polite. On top of of that I found a hair on my rice and mentioned it just to let them know, not because I wanted to get a discount but to be more careful since other customers might find something similar in their food. I think it was ok but not the best place
Maybe Im spoiled where I live near DC but the korean bbq near annandale and ellicot city are heaps and bounds better quality meat and service. We were slowly given very small portions, the meat selection is minimal and lower quality. The server had to be flagged down to refill drinks and even then it took multiple attempts. After paying we were given maybe 30 seconds before the table was being cleared and we were still sitting there. Do not recommend.
Young man who helped us was so kind and had a great sense of humor!! Will definitely be back!
Best Korean food in RVA by far
Fun dining experience with all you can eat Korean BBQ
The food was amazing and the staff was great!
I love this place! Yumm soo delicious
Awesome food, great service my family and I will definitely be back!
The food was ok. The server was incredibly rude and awful. Will not be coming back
Because of Covid, I was sceptical about eating indoors at a restaurant. But, we know some restaurants cant help they dont have outdoor seating. Well, this place has floor to ceiling booths with a commercial hood over each table. You can ask for one and have not have to worry about the pandemic.Fantastic food! We had never been to a Korean BBQ restaurant before. One of my favorite dishes is beef bulgogi and this place did not disappoint. Their pickled vegetables were on point as well. Their standard combo meal could feed a family of 5. I ate the leftovers for days. And it was still good!Needless to say, you have to try this place out.
The food was phenomenal!
Came here with my family last Sunday and it was really good. There were barely any people so it was quiet. I personally really liked the boneless chicken. However, it is really expensive. So only go here if youre willing to splurge. All the staff members were nice to us so im not sure why some reviews are saying they were mean
Authentic Korean Food! I’ve lived in South Korea for over a year and I love their BBQ so much I know when the food is good or not. This place was so good! Ive had 3 different Korean Restaurants in Richmond and they were the best. I had the 2 choice of meat BBQ which I chose the marinated Galbi, chicken, and soybean paste soup. All very very good and they cooked the food in front of us. WITH THE COVID Prevention measures practiced at this establishment. They also had large bottle of soju that was everything. 10/10 recommended. With everything included it did come a bit pricey but you are paying for the good quality meat and WORTH IT. I will be coming back. Do not be swayed by what you think a Korean restaurant should look like. A lot of Americans tend to judge books by its cover. If you want something delicious, filling, clean, and AUTHENTIC. Come here!
I highly recommend not eating here. They are Very money Hungry. Its not a true all you can eat. If you decide not to tip. They will chase you out the door asking “why didn’t you tip..?” Very bad service they look at you like a dollar sign not as a customer. If you want Korean food id advise going elsewhere. Also this restaurant meals tax is 15%. Which is not right. Richmond, VA meals tax is 7.5%.
Korean Garden was great. Was a little nervous going after reading all the bad reviews but we had a perfect time. The staff was attentive and friendly, the food was good, pork bulgogi spicy was our favorite. Was disappointed to pay for refill of the side items, other than that no complaints. $29 per person, 2 meats at a time, 20 % tip included for parties of 4. Go enjoy!
Loved my food, we will definitely be going back soon
Sweet people, amazing food with consistency and thats whats is so important to me for a restaurant.
The galbi here was excellent and the seafood pancakes are the best I have had in the area. Service was a bit poor with the servers being somewhat distracted and forgetting to deliver the food in a timely manner. The food was very good though. Overall, we were very pleased with the meal here.
Good authentic korean food! Good service, all you can eat.
Food was amazing and the seasoning was really good. Best Korean BBQ we have been to in the area. The staff was super friendly. They should sell their kimchi
Simply amazing. Wonderful experience from start to finish and excellent choice for a night out with friends. The brisket and pork shoulder are a must for any visit with Korean Garden.
Absolutely amazing! I wanted to try this because of the rave Google reviews and photos. The service was amazing, the food was amazing. Lots of options. You get what you pay for, for sure! Our waitress was super nice an explained what everything was and how we should eat the food as she cooked it right at our table. 10/10. Will definitely be back!
I used to visit Korean BBQ restaurant with my friends often.Korean garden is the good place to visit if you are looking for the K-BBQ in RCA. this place has many sides and high quality meat come and visit Korean garden. Staff was well trained and cleaned environment. Strongly recommended.
I like the food,, but i didnt like how the servicer was acting! She acting like someone push her to work! And she need to take the orders immediately.. no smiling no welcoming! Even when she took the receipt she just took the money without asking us how was the food!! I guess this type of restaurant need to understand how to interacting with people to let them comeback.. i will never comeback even if they service good food..!
It was nice.... The workers are friendly and the food came out quick. It was a really nice experience.
Really nice Korean restaurant in Richmond, VA. Id like to say it is the best restaurant where Ive visited before. They provide really good dishes based on a hand-made sauces like soybean sauce, soybean paste, hot chilli sauce. And crews are very kind and professional providing customers devoted service. Definitely, Ill visit there again when I come to Richmond back. You d better visit also if you find some healthy food.
While this place may be good for groups, it’s terrible for a single diner. I don’t want “all you can eat” option because it leads to overeating. They have 14 BBQ items available on “regular menu”. I placed my order and went to restroom; upon my return, I’m informed that the order was rejected because I must order at least two items, which would push the price over $30.I selected a non-BBQ item (fried pork) and it tastes terrible.
We drove from ashland to eat here. This was 6 days ago. We arrived at approximately 2pm. We sat down and we always get all you can eat which it is different from their combo meals. Alot of people arent familiar with cooking the meat, so they will do it for you so it doesnt burn. When you go they may seem pushy it is not the case, it is their way of being respectful and attentive. We politely told our server we can cook it, which we are very familiar in this setting. There was on other couple dining in. We ended up being the only ones when we left an hour and a half later. We had 5 different meats and plenty of sides. Also kimbap, and mandu for appetizers. However, the rice bowl is the only thing that was not all you can eat. So I paid extra for another bowl. The wait staff and owner were very pleasant. So anyone that goes to dine in please understand and be patient. You wont regret it. It was wonderful to get out of our semi for a change. When we come back thru it is definently a place we will be back to. It is not cheap by any means. But well worth it.
I ordered 탕수육 and it was bad. I mean taste was okay but the sauce was soupy. Not thick at all. I was craving this all week and so excited for my takeout. This was a huge disappointment. Had I seen it I would not have walked out the door with it! I know Korean food isnt as great here as in Korea but Ive had better here in Midlothian.
The grill wasnt hooked and we missed on the Korean BBQ experience. Whats the point of running Korean BBQ restaurant if you dont provide the experience? This is the main reason for leaving a 2 stars review. Also portions were smaller than at other Korean BBQ places Ive been to, but prices were not. Some dishes were great, others were bland. The service was fine, no complaints there.
The owner didnt give you a chance to look at the menu because they have all-you-can-eat option. After I ordered a recommendation food then realize we can order all you can eat at the same price. After they bring some frozen meat looks okay but the taste was smelly food. I asked the owner white meat was smelled she told me its not a smell.
Best all you can eat around!
Real nice lots of things
Very disappointed in service. We came in with a family of four. We ordered our drinks and when we went to go order our food, we were told we could not order off the lunch menu due to the fact it was a holiday(4th of July.)11am to 2:30pm is the lunch hours. So we decided to leave and still offered to pay for our drinks. We were told we could not get to-go cups and keep in mind my family has been to this restaurant several times and left with to-go cups. I was very disappointed in this place. Her attitude was very unworthy. No sign that stated no lunch menu today. Only 3 people were actually sitting in the restaurant when we arrived and you were willing to allow business to walk out.
Tried to have a nice dinner alone but was told that I couldn’t order the all you can eat 29.00. So then I tried to order a brisket but was told I had to order TWO dinners at 21.00 each plus my sides. I am from Los Angeles and am visiting Richmond. I eat Korean food 2-3 times a week, especially when I am traveling. I am a travel writer and was looking forward to reviewing Korean bbq in Virginia but I guess I am moving on to the Salvadorian spot down the street for pupusa’s.Hope that Richmond catches up.
Our experience was terrible, the women serving us was so rude. We asked for a private table and she got upset and told us all tables are the same. We didnt think it would have been a problem since there was only one other table occupied, at lunchtime. She brought out our drinks and my husband had a fly in his water. We let that go and asked for a new water. We ordered cook your own, she brought the sides dishes out and slammed them on the table. When she brought our meat out she started dumping it on the grill and we told her to stop, and she got upset. We got up and left. We never had a chance to try the food. We drove a couple blocks to 88 Garden, another Korean restaurant, polite, clean and the food was amazing.
Service was good. Food was okay
Amazing food and experience. Got the AYCE and I nearly died from eating so much! The dude cooking our food for us was cool too. Spicy pork belly. 👌
Amazing selection of the best food. If you want to try something different, this is a great place to go. Their food tastes A M A Z I N G.
The restaurant was in a tired, older building that could have used a facelift. Certainly lacking ambiance. However, were glad we tried it. It had its own type of charm. Our menu choices were delicious. Our server was competent and initially reserved. We chatted with her a bit and soon she began to have fun with us. She even made some jokes. Next time were in Richmond, we will return.
Prompt service and great prices
I enjoyed korean food. Servers are kind and food that we ordered are not bad. The amount of food are enough for two adults to have. They also provide side dish which I have been used to have in Korea.
Delicious but unfortunately most of their menu is pork so its really restrictive.Edit: The customer service is not great at all. After paying the check, my friend and I were just finishing up what was left of our food. The lady stood in front of our table with the cart to clean up and took the empty plates. But then a few minutes later 2 ladies came while I am literally about to pick up food from the plate in front of me, they whisked all the plates (including the ones we were still eating from) right from underneath us. That was beyond rude. Its not like they even needed our table in the first place, the place was not full and there was no line.
Some of the best food ever
Awesome food for a great price
If you are feeling korean BBQ, this is the #1 restaurant in the area. My experience was awesome and would go back in a heartbeat. We personally had the all you can eat option and the food was fabulous, with the MVP being our outstanding server JO. Thank you!
I was hesitant when I first saw this restaurant from the outside. This building used to be a red lobster when I was a kid and looked a little run down from the outside now. Once I entered the building and met the staff it put my mind at ease. Super friendly and helpful staff. I looked at the menu and they have tons of options. I ordered the spicy pork and the lean beef. I was pleasantly surprised. There were about eight sides that came with the meal and the way the cooked the meat was perfect. Everything was classic style Korean, even the spicy beef soup I ordered. The portion size is big, we left therere stuffed. We will visit there again soon!
Great food, fun environment. Really great staff! I enjoyed three meal prepared at the table.
