Everything was easy to find, staff were cheerful. Produce and shelves were well stocked, meat section was full and stocked well with good quality meats. Cashiers were friendly and very patient with the older people, very helpful. Van driver was very courteous and friendly, drives safely always.
Found everything we needed. Staff was very helpful. Very pleased with the meats we purchased and especially the price.
Employees are always friendly! Bathrooms are clean. Great Hot Bar selection. Self checkout also available. Sushi used to be good until a few months ago and now its dry and not appetizing. Other then that they are great. I just found out tonight they have wine to taste test.
Awesome place, staff are friendly, well stocked, good prices. Nice place to shop!
This store is always clean...even that parking lot! The selection of food is good and the cashiers are friendly and helpful. Its a small store that has that family feel.
So my mom loves this market! My sister relocated here years ago and we hve come to love Richmond. This little market is so clean & staffed with lots of Afro-Americans who are doing a great job. Mom purchased all her porks for seasoning her greens and other stuff to carry back to NY. Will return on our next trip to Richmond. I did purchase a pack of these sausages that my nieces boyfriend shatef with me they are do good hving one right nowBack in NY now..😁👍
The cook food always smells good
I go here every morning for brunch and sometimes shop around. Sometimes the customer service is lacking but some workers make up for it.Definitely a good grocery store for its section either way.
Very clean and well managed business. The best thing I observed was the many young people who are working. The community is fortunate to have the establishment there. Keep supporting them!
The place was clean, the workers was polite. The hot food was delicious and fresh. I will be going back on my lunch break.
Great customer service, friendly people working there. Has a focus on community and fresh healthy products which they price lower. Junk food is priced higher here than other stores to compensate.
Better prices than Kroger best grocery store in the east end
Very nice store worker are friendly i will go again
Nice place to shop in the neighborhood. Some things are priced too high and others priced moderately. You have to shop for the deals. Great idea to charge 1/2 price on fresh fruits and vegetables for EBT customers to encourage better eating habits.
Its fair and very impressive for the area its in customer service was exellent, dont sell somethings i usely get but overall experience was great and lets not forget that they got fresh fruits thats a 4 plus
Customer Service is excellent. The Deli Associates are lazy and all they want to do is socialize amongst each other and do not want to do any work! Dark skinned bald head guy that work in the deli is very rude and try to tell you how to spend your money! The food doesnt taste the same anymore it is horrible now! Went to the Deli just today at 6:15pm the guy told me they was closed! Called customer service and was told the Deli doesnt close until 6:30pm customer service in the deli really suck now! As far as the front end associates and customer service desk they are A1.
I love this grocery store. It is very clean an organized. I love the deals they have on fresh and frozen fruit.
My 1st visit to the Market at 25th StStore were very clean, Customer service appears to b good, greeting was pleasant.Prices appears to b a little pricey except for the sale items but would go back. Enjoyed looking around familiarizing myself withThe store.
Terrible! I waited in line at the hot food section on my lunch break for 20 minutes, then when it was my turn to order i was literally skipped by the worker 3 times and when I said something I was completely ignored! Unbelievable! Coincidentally I was the only non black person there. I guess only certain people are welcomed.NEVER AGAIN will I step foot in there!
I absolutely love this store. It stays very clean with a friendly staff. The real reason I visit often is for the Sally Belle potato salad and hot chicken. My Lord..that Sally Belle potato salad taste just like my Mommas. It is SOULFUL DELICIOUS...
Very good organized and supplied store, wuth nice people and fresh articles.Always pleasant ans kind stuff and the thing that we did love the most was transportation from our house in Richmond to store, free and very indeed nice people.I did really love that, they come to pick you up from store and when you are sonw with shopping they deive you bake home🤗Thank you we did have a wonderful experience
Prices a little higher than the chains but way more convenient
Fresh food and then some sells some stuff u see at festivals
Its to expensive for me but I love that they give rides home
25th Street Market is nice but its too high for the be in a black neighborhood its ridiculous how much the prices is a shop in there every now and then if Im on that side of town
This place was amazing,I bought some cheesecake, a lemonade, and some frozen dinners. Nice local grocery store.
My boyfriend lives in the neighborhood, and we decided to walk to the Market to check it out on a Saturday afternoon. The parking lot seemed small, but it was by no means full. The lane at the back of the lot is one-way, and a security guard was out in the lot for drivers who might need help navigating the new space. The staff was very friendly. We were greeted at the door by a woman handing out free fresh fruit to folks as they left as a neighborly promotion. The women at the customer service counter were kind and informative when we inquired about the frequent shoppers card. (Cards will be available in a few weeks, and all sales are currently available without a card.)The grocery selection is comparable to Kroger. Three different brands of cornstarch- that sort of thing. The fresh seafood department looked very nice. And they have fresh sushi. Prices also seemed comparable to Kroger, though my boyfriend did note that their Amys frozen meals were almost twice as expensive as what he pays for them at Kroger.
Good little grocery store. Has everything you need.
Always clean, never very crowded and employees are always helpful and friendly
Black owned and awesome!
Customer friendly staff, good prices and location. Owner is a community advocate. Special pricing for EBT users
My favorite grocery store ever!!! Its clean, fresh and bright, with well-priced staples and fancier items, too! I was delighted to see locally-grown produce and beautiful environmental graphics paying homage to the communitys rich history. The customer service is unparalleled, as well: the friendly and courteous employees proactively offer their help and accompany you to the item youre seeking. Truly a community asset!
Very polite and friendly staff and great prices.
About time Churchill had a grocery store... great people are working here too!
Good selections. nice and clean. No loitering in front of the store (which you will find at a lot of the stores in this area).
Very nice store...clean and efficient
Best produce in all of the East End
Isles were uncomfortably narrow. All the small shopping carts had flat spots on the wheels from people pushing them while the wheel is locked.
Prices are high dont have a large selection
Very happy atmosphere! Clean store and well kept. Everything is easy to find and very helpful associates, definitely will shop at this store from now on.
Good place but to high in price
I walked into this grocery store not knowing what to expect, but based off this review you will know my experience was heavenly! Everyone greeted me in the store, even the other customers smiled and spoke to me 🤷🏾♂️. Not going to lie it felt like that place was blessed by GOD. Please go visit ! It’s hard to write my full experience, cause my soul was just taking in everything to the point my brain couldn’t react lol 😂
I love this market!Everything is so clean and organized.Employees are very welcoming and polite.I think the community needed this and everyone should shop here FIRST!They even have a pharmacy.
Nice look inside..I seen some good deals too
I love the fresh produce department and deli.. they Are respectful and very helpful. They are not the cheapest but I gurantee you can always find what you need or want there Id you dont theyll help you get it
Excellent place to shop for fresh vegetables and they also have great prices on meats and wine!!!
The market was awesome. The csshier on 3 was very helpful & very polite. I will shop again if I need to.
Just make sure to check the expiration date of the food on the shelves before you buy it
Our new favorite grocery store! My husband and I just moved to Church Hill, and we are extremely impressed with the Market. They have lots of fresh produce, niche items you dont find everywhere, and a great community- focused mission. I wouldnt want to shop anywhere else for our food items.
Its a nice store, I will continue shopping there, but customer service is not that good at the check out.
Great place, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere.
I visited the store after waiting for the opening crowds to die down. It was a wonderful experience. We got food from the deli (Mama Js) and even though it was a bit cold when we ate ( nothing on them, we wandered around after getting food) it was delicious. I had to debate with myself over the plump looking crab legs, but I decided those did not fit into my budget this week, but Ill be back for those. The meats looked excellent. I picked up a container of prepared tropical fruit in produce that looked really good, but I havent eaten yet. I can see this being a wonderful addition for my grocery shopping although Farm Fresh is much closer. I had no issues with pricing. It seemed very middle of the road for me, because I shop everywhere and being budget conscious, I memorize prices for various stores. Some prices were higher and some lower. I did forget to check out dairy prices because I didnt need anything from there.Everyone that worked there was very polite and helpful, even when I heard a customer upset. And the deli people were especially accommodating to my sister, who can be exacting at times.
I like shopping here because they have great products and theyre very convenient well make a recommended store
Love this place. Very convenient and has a lot of vegan items. Produce is always fresh and the store is spotless. I love the customer service and the attention to detail each associate that has checked me out has.
Cashiers was cool. Lines was not long. Prices good
Good, very good, convenient.
Its a great place to shop the workers or always friendly nice respectful and helpful at all times not one time have i been in there has anyone been nasty to me or anyone else all around great place to shop.
Was a bit nervous to go to this store because of the rumor that someone had contracted Covid there, but once I did I noticed the cleaning of carts and other things that customers touch. The half off on fruits and vegetables for Snap users is a great way to promote healthy eating.
I like this place. Best grocery store in the area.
I love this market. It convient and the staff is always so friendly
Great place for almost anything
My favorite local grocery. So happy they opened in church Hill. Great selection and friendly staff.
Store is very cleaned bright everyone was courteous. Pleasent security. A little pricey and the bakery meals is not that tasty. But good customer service all around and butcher department and backery looks fresh
Very nice neighborhood marketplace.
LOVE IT!! Great new grocery store for church hill. Immaculate and the staff is so friendly. Great produce, deli, layout is really nice with wide aisles. Was dubious at first, but leaps above Farm Fresh in every way!UPDATE 09/28/2021: I wrote a wonderful review of this market 2 years and gave them 5 stars. Unfortunately, it seems some things have changed. I used to love how friendly and helpful the staff was, but they dont seem to be concerned with that anymore. The last several times Ive been there, I havent even received an acknowledgment from the cashier, let alone anything nice and courteous. Its all attitude and sneers now, as though the customer is an interloper for coming in to the store and making them work. Its really too bad, because it is a really nice store and so convenient...but who needs to spent money where youre treated like an inconvenience? There are other stores in the area.
Ive never had any problems during my visits. Top notch customer service. Love the juice bar. Keep up the good work!!
I love this market! Its a great local business, eith a great selection and prices. You have to go by their seafood and butcher deli. They even have hand-rolled sushi, made in house! The best part of The Market at 25th is the staff! Hands down, the friendly employees Ive ever met! Everyone you meet says hello and offers help. I cant recommend them enough!
I use to come to this store regularly but today with it being a Sunday I called and checked to make sure the hours where the same and i was told they where, so I walked a mile to get here and then they had a sign on the door saying only seniors could come in until 9:00. There was absolutely NO ONE in the store so I asked since I just walked a whole mile could I come in and grab 3 things and was told no. They will not get my business no more because they should have updated the new hours on the website.
Great staff thanks lala for helping me find the steaks I needed
Great customer service; Dr Brown and Cierra @ Hope Pharmacy are the BEST.
The store looks great! This store replaces the need for me to ever go to Farm Fresh again.Options are fantastic for the footprint. They have a great vegan case near the back that really fills my heart with joy.Prices are noticeably low. Staff is noticeably polite! Parking is not ideal but thats okay. Neither is Ellwoods.
Affordable prices, and great service. This store made shopping a treat. The bagger was very good, and treated fragile stuff carefully.
Its a small store so they cant carry everything that Kroger or Wegmans has, but what they do have is a good selection of fresh food, a decent vegan/gluten free section, and a diabetic section. Havent tried the deli or pharmacy.
Well Im the seafood manager and we have the best customer service hands down also we have great deals and prices every week.
I love this store is my first time love the set up of the store the priceing it has something for everyone will go back again
Its like a medium size grocery store in the middle of a food dessert. Varied selection of goods. The deli/bakery is seems a bit more than what youd expect for a store of its size. Amazon locker outside as well as seating for what ever grab and go food you get inside. Only downside I noticed, the parking lot is awkwardly laid out.
Good deals on pepsi sodas, high though on other items
Clean place... nice people... great shopping experience.... but the food is horrible
Nice grocery option in area of city with no options. Prices bit inflated. Not as big as chain stores so did not have some brands/products. Deli and hot food section is small. Tight parking. Staff nice. Clean.
I live in Churchill and try to support this store as much as I can, it’s a little pricey and most of the staff is great, but the service at the deli department is horrible and staff have attitude.
I love The Market at 25th and Hope Pharmacy.
Excellent customer service
OK. Im amending this review because I clearly went on a bad day. The first day to be exact...when few businesses, if any, are completely ready to go. The parking lot was a nightmare at first, but today, even during rush hour, its much, much easier to get into. Its not a well-designed parking lot to be sure, but that should not deter you at all from coming to this store. The staff is friendly and eager to help. Smiles are everywhere and that says something very positive about this store. Prices are far better than many local outlets like Kroger or even Food Lion. And an excellent variety to choose from. Yes, they even had corn starch this time! Admittedly I was unimpressed at first, but given the size, cleanliness and service of the store, this is now EXACTLY what the residents of Church Hill have been waiting for. No need to go to Farm Fresh, people. Im glad I came back and I will return often. By the way, the phone works...!
Iy was ok
Convenient. I can find most of what I need, although I don’t use the Market for primary grocery shopping. But if I need something in a pinch or want something specific and local, I stop here first
Clean friendly service good food. Great smell in store.
Totally impressed! Have to see the timeline in Richmonds prominent African American history unfold on a side wall and each isle named after a memorable church in the metro area. Awesome presentation. Black businesses were also represented with products. There were some things on the shelves that were relatively pricey comparable to other grocery stores so take your list thus the 4 stars!
Very uncomfortable parking arrangement. But the store is always clean with friendly staff.
The produce was fresh and full. All of the employees were kind and helpful. They offer 50% off fresh and frozen produce with all EBT purchases, including the new P-EBT cards.
This was my second visit at the market. I have been very pleased with all of my purchases. I have been able to find some things that I havent been able to find in awhile like beef ribs yum. They also give senior citizens a discount on their purchases I think thats great!!
I Love SPEND$20 or More and For 3 Dollars More You Get A Lyft Home....
Very friendly and helpful staff...and they all wear masks to protect their customers. Great job!
The store was designed for the community, and it definitely serves its purpose. Based on their pricing structure, it looks like theyre not out to gouge the market but rather make a reasonable profit while providing full-service grocery to the community. The interior was very well designed, and the decor makes it really feel like a part of Richmond. The people working there are incredibly friendly and obviously happy to serve the community theyre from.
First time here! I appreciate the numerous organic and GF products!! Thank you for bringing quality food & produce, to an area that was a food desert. Will definitely be back soon! And I made a new friend!
I absolutely do not have enough characters in this space to accurately portray how happy I am with this addition to the neighborhood. They took time to listen to their customers and planned accordingly stocking everything from affordable pantry goods to specialty items from around the world. The inclusion of the community space for PBS kids programming and the partnership with Van Go offering free rides to customers in the Church Hill area. I honestly could go on and on. You really need to go and experience it for yourself it is a slice of RVA history served up alongside some amazing food and great folks. The concept itself should be studied nationwide. If successful this could set the tone for markets entering into food deserts.
A Great Place To Shop
A very convenient location for a lot of folks in north Church Hill, but excessively overpriced. The prices are high enough where many of our neighbors (and ourselves) cannot justify shopping here as our main grocery store. Many of the items are 2x - 3x more expensive than other more affordable stores in the area.Aside from its prices, the store is very clean with an exceptional staff and many offerings (like coffee, a pharmacy, sushi and more) that make it a great place to stop. While these additions are definitely welcome, it does make you wonder if they could actually be an affordable grocery store if they didnt have so many extras that dont contribute its central offering.
I love the staff; customer service is the best Ive seen in years. Some things are pricey, but they have great sales (unadvertised) and quality meats. Overall an excellent experience.
Always friendly, clean, moderately priced and community oriented. Couldnt ask for a better neighborhood grocery.
