These guys are awesome!Selection is well balanced between military surplus weapons, new-production handguns, and modern sporting rifles (and there really is something for everyone). Prices are perfectly reasonable, and the staff is attentive and friendly. Frankly, I felt like I was hanging out with extended family more than shopping at a retail business.Ammunition and accessories are available, and the retail space is well laid-out for easy shopping without feeling cramped. Likewise, they have a gunsmith on site, although I havent needed their services.I look forward to doing plenty of business with these guys in the future!

I called about the claim on their website, well help you find hard to find items, as the exact model Ive been looking for was discontinued almost a year ago and I couldnt find decent used listings anywhere. First they said they probably cant help with discontinued items, but then I explained what it was I was looking for, and they very excitedly told me they had one brand new! And would hold it for me as I rushed over to grab it!What followed was an expedient and extremely friendly process, walking me through forms and making sure I had everything I needed, and ultimately costing me a bit less than I expected. If youre looking to support a local gun shop instead of buying online or at any other big brand location, look no further.

I was quoted a 2-4 week wait on July 9th. It’s now August 6th, 4 weeks.I called today and the person who answered the phone told me that they have no way of knowing how much longer my firearm will take. I said I needed to know more than that. They said they could not tell me.I’m not surprised it’s taking longer than expected. The reason I’m only giving two stars is that I believe they should update customers when work is taking longer than expected. And if the deadline arrives, they should be able to provide an estimate about how much longer the work will take.I’m happy to update this review with a better rating once I’ve received adequate communication regarding this issue.

I thought everyone who worked here was welcoming and enthusiastic about being an employee there. You can tell that a few of the ppl working here love firearms just as much as you do. Its not just a job like quite a few other shops in town. They had abnormal ammo that I needed and was more than willing to look through a collection they had purchased to see if they had a mosin I could purchase. They did btw have it. This was a month or two ago. Im going back today to give them more money and will again in the future.

On April 24, 2021 I picked up the Ruger revolver I had shipped to New American Arms from a store in Pennsylvania. It was also the first time for me in the store.I really like the store! The entire process of having my revolver sent to the store and picked up was perfect!While I waited in the store for the process to complete, I observed a number of the staff and their interactions with various customers. This place is the absolute best. I ordered my first handgun there and they were super quick communicating with me and giving me updates. I was surprised by their selection, they had a bunch of inventory (and not just weird off-brand guns, they had a lot of guns from popular and reputable companies such as an Arsenal SAM-7 which is increasingly hard to find anywhere especially during COVID). I will definitely be returning!

Ended up here by accident. Was initially meeting a person for a firearm trade. The other guy backed out of the deal for some reason. Ended up trading my firearm for one better than intended and New American Arms is now my favorite gun store. Vivian and Jeremy are TOP NOTCH....so was the other girl there but I never caught her name. All the staff is glad to help. Vivian made my experience there separate from all....it was an amazing time spent there. I drive 1.5hrs to meet a dude and ended up happier and found a gun establishment that is friendly and not snobby like the others local to Richmond. Best place Ive been to in a decade hands down!

Family run gun store that cares about the customers. Its a refreshing feel when compared to other corporate ran places. Definitely my first choice when purchasing a new firearm. Plus they hold training events which is a plus.

Their gunsmith Nick is awesome. I had a handgun refinished and repaired by him. The finished product is better than I could have imagined. During the process we encountered a few issues and every time Nick quickly communicated and explained several options to keep my build below budget. I will be bringing more work to them in the future.

I ordered a desert eagle with new American arms. Even tho it took a few months I received my order. The staff also treated me good. I went ahead and bought another custom build rifle from them.

Had great experiences here, bought two rifles so far both have been flawless. Also had them mount and zero a new optic. Worked with Tony and Shane both have been great sources of information and advise. Highly recommend.

I purchased a .380 handgun from New American.. Im not a gun enthusiast and I found out .380 bullets are very hard to find. I called to let them no my concerns because I felt I bought a gun that was going to collect dust because many companies had ammo on backorder. It was kinda disappointing. Because of my concerns I feel they made a extra effort to make sure they could find me ammo. Thank God they were able to find some for me. I am so thankful for the effort and great customer service!! Nothing but love for the American Arms!!

New American Arms gave my boyfriend and I an incredible experience. They are patient and friendly & most importantly they are honest and interested in which firearm is going to be the best for you. They gave us a personal experience which we could not have gotten at a big corporation store (ie bass pro). Fast background checks, lots of amo, and basically everything you need.

I was introduced to this store about 3 weeks ago, and bought multiple items. If you like to collect older military style firearms from WW1 or WW2 and more, this is the place for you. The customer service was excellent and I returned once again and bought another item!! They are so helpful, and they have very good prices. Had a very good experience with this team. Had a shotgun assembled and the staff were one of the best I have previously experienced. Unfortunately I dont remember the names, but no matter, they were all very polite and welcoming. I actually spoke with the gunsmith that assembled my shotgun and he seemed very knowledgeable. Took a gun to be repaired. We never got a phone call. Every time I called the voice mail is full, so you cant leave a message. So I have to go there. If it hasnt been repaired I am taking it anyway. I will find someone who needs the business.

Bought a pistol from these folks about a week ago. The thing that originally drew me to check this place out was the fact that there are 1 star reviews claiming that they weren’t allowed in the store without a mask. Places that require masks are the only places I will go. In fact, while I was there, a potential customer was not allowed in the store due to lack of a mask.This all being said, everything from checking out various pistols to the actual purchasing of a pistol was smooth and professional. 50/10 experience here. Staff is friendly and inviting, always stocked shelves. Their used selection is always quality stuff. They offer a huge range of services, and the prices are good for the quality of work. Ammo is priced well, guns are priced well, services are priced well. I will be shopping here as my go to from now on.

The Staff is extremely nice, But the owner is somewhat condescending he was initially rude with me, I am military veteran and a local Business owner and own many frearms made me feel really uncomfortable which is hard to do.After me I watched him almost repeat the exact same thing with another young lady which seemed to be her fist firearm purchase online to pick in the store which can be a little confusing he made it even worse, absolutely no need to be rude if your having a bad day take a break let your staff run the store.I was going to go a little further with him in the store but ive learn from experience to walk away leave a review.(Staff was amazing just the Owner)SMH.

I literally walked into this place after calling to see if they had the gun I wanted, with the intention of making a purchase today only to be told that I could not enter without a mask. I politely explained I just had a lip procedure done and couldn’t cover my lips with anything and you can clearly see that I have bandages on my arms from having surgery 2 weeks ago, the guy did not care. He said “doesn’t matter”. Fine. Lose my business on a $600 gun. Business must be booming so hard up here in Richmond what with all the stores and buildings being closed and boarded up. 🙄

Recently used this shop to Cerakote a slide and barrel. The owner and management was very helpful during these strange times (COVID-19). Very respectful and knowledgeable. I was told my job would take 3 weeks, but got it back in about a week. Great first experience and I will frequent this shop as much as possible.Update: 10/20Went back to New American Arms and had a trigger and spring kit installed in one of my pistols. Great work! Fast turn around and as always everybody in the store was helpful. Great overall experience! Highly recommend that you check them out.

The customer service is top notch with these folks. Very friendly staff with a great selection. They even stayed beyond closing to allow time for our background to clear so we could bring our purchases home same day. Vivian even went above and beyond helping my fiancé and I with some marital advice haha thanks Vivian youre the best! Prices were great this was the fourth store we visited today mostly great experiences with customer service with the competitors but the selection was nothing in comparison even some of the big retailers that we visited didnt have what these guys had to offer. We will definitely be a returning customer.

Only complaint I have is that you can never get them to answer the phone. Other than that, NAA is great. Prices for the most part are fair, some prices are below average, some are average, and some are above average, so as always, shop around and do research before you buy. The staff is very knowledgeable and if they dont have an answer, they will find out for you. FFL transfers always go smooth and ordering products from them is easy.

He will try his best to locate the item you want if he does not already have it for you. He and his team also do amazing custom builds and I will be taking mine home in the near future. Friendly and knowledgable. One of the guys took time to explain a couple things to look at when completing my build. I was given some great information that made me feel amazing about a purchase that I hadnt even made with them. He addressed my concerns and took his time even when Im pretty sure I was not buying anything that day.Update: I was stretching the threads on the 2nd round while tightening the barel nut and my tool broke. I have built ARs for like 10 years now, but did not have an extra barrel nut wrench for this specific handguard. I took the receiver up there and they got me taken care of in no time. They also dimple barrels, and I believe they have go guages. They are helpful whether youre a new or experienced builder.

After calling around came across this business from the phone call to my visit very nice and knowledgeable I truly appreciate their ensuring all patrons wore a mask maintained a safe six feet distance giving they were a small establishment and their prices were an added attraction as well cant wait to receive my new BF

Just had a handgun of mine worked on. Tony quoted me a reasonable turn around time and when I went in to check up on it, they finished right on the spot!!!! My brother bought a gun from them as well and was very happy with the price. Also, Tony is very knowledgeable with all gun matters including the laws.
