Overall experience was good. The gentleman that helped me was informative and very helpful. I purchased a PMR 30 due to the price being the lowest I’ve seen it recently. I both asked the sales guy the price and took a look at the tag…$429. I got delayed which is typical so left and came back. Paid for the gun and a couple of boxes of ammunition. When I got the total I thought it seemed high but due to being in a rush I paid and left. A week later I looked at my receipt and saw I was charged $489. Completely my fault as I should have slowed down and looked at my receipt after I paid. Besides that it was a great experience and I still plan on doing business with them. I’ll just make sure to be more attentive next time.

Stop by just to see the new guns out theyve had theyve got a lot of assault rifles shotguns and automatic handguns that dont have a lot of revolvers thats the hard thing to come across nowadays nobody wants a revolver everybody wants a plastic gun nobody wants a good old metal Dependable gun anymore but they got a good selection theyve got a lot of supplies enjoy looking around that Ashley had quite a bit of ammunition and everybody there seemed knowledgeable about the products and Id recommend going there especially if you want an automatic handgun or an assault weapon or salt shotgun Ive got plenty of them

Door greeter was kind. Selection was poor. To view a gun in the counter you had to wait on a employee to find the time to assist you. Then you were paraded through the gun sale area as if you were a criminal in a line up. Purchased two things to support them anyway. Got to the cashier who was so disrespectful of me the customer. My wife and I will never spend any of our hard earned money in this store ever again. This store and its staff except for the door greeter did nothing to deserve me as there customer ever again. When I get home I will be sure to spread the word about this bad experience every chance I get and I dont live that far away from this store.

I called to check the availability of 9mm ammunition today. When I asked if they had the ammo he said yes and told me the brand. When i asked what grain it was he responded Can you find it anywhere else, I mean come on . After his response i said thank you and ended the call. I recently bought a new gun and am looking to get a gun for my wife. I asked what grain because i would like to find the right brand and grain for my gun. I am in the military and i have some experience with firearms so i know everything does not just load and go bang every time how you want it. I am not bashing this establishment I am only rating my experience with them. And yes i can find ammo elsewhere. I hope something positive can come of this.

Great place to pick up ammo and assess prices. They have blue line specials for law enforcement and first responders. The staff is professionals and jovial. Good mix. Check it out.

It has been a few years since I visited Town. At the time, they seemed to cater more towards professionals instead of regular consumers. I totally support our professionals and was one back in the day. But it wasnt a good experience as a normal consumer. I went today....and WOW! What a difference! The store has been revamped from what I saw last time. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They also had a very solid inventory compared to other stores that I visited both locally and online. I made a purchase, and plan to go back again! Nice job!

I will never patronize this business again. 2 different salesperson misrepresented themselves almost causing me to purchase a handgun 100 dollars over priced. Minutes away from purchasing a handgun which the staff is either completely unaware of,or purposely attempting to deceive. I was puzzled how during a pandemic in which guns are in such short supply, they managed to have 4 of these. I should have known it was to good to be true,and it was!

Called the shop about purchasing a magazine and laser for my Taurus g2c that I purchased from this store. and to see if had any 9mm in stock. Worker answered the phone with “what’s up” rude. He asked me why I owned a Taurus sarcastically, rude. I asked about the attachments, and he said “room full of people gotta go” and hung up. Terrible customer service and I’m not going back to this store again.

Chris was very knowledgeable and took the time to educate me on a particular firearm to help make the buying process easier. Great atmosphere and service. Only thing I dislike is the greeter didnt say anything to a rude inconsiderate customer standing in the line smoking a cigarette while we were outside, instead of asking customer to step in the parking lot or not allowing smoking near the building.

I’ve come to this store for quite some time now and I typically have a great experience unless the older gentleman is on the cash register. He is so rude and very unpleasant to deal with. I know several other people that have had the same experience with him but they speak highly of everyone else.

The customer service in this shop has turned absolutely horrible. I have spent thousands here on guns and gear over the years but I promise I will never spend another dime there from here on out. No will offer help unless they think they are about to sell you a gun.

Brad is a good guy to work with. I would recommended him to anyone that needs a knowledgeable sales consultant. I recently ordered a rifle and I called to check and see if it had arrived. The salesman replied, ”No” ... and disconnected the call before I could ask any follow-up questions regarding the ETA of the rifle. That was less than desirable customer service if I’m spending $1,500 with your company. Soo, I called back and asked if he realized I was still speaking when he disconnected me. He replied, “we’re really busy!” ... and disconnected the call AGAIN! That being said ... they have really good deals on ammo. Maybe he was having a bad day nobody is perfect.

I have purchase 2 firearms from them. Friendly knowledgeable sales person, Chris.I would have given 5 stars but they would not give me the first responder discount. I was very disappointed. I am an RN at Riverside Regional Jail. If I’m not a first responder there, I don’t know who is. When there is a medical emergency, we are the first ones there.

Going gun shopping for the first time, I was very nervous about how I would be treated, especially as an African American male, as Ive read some reviews of other gun shops that read that black people werent treated too friendly at other shops. That wasnt this store. I was treated with the upmost respect here and the salesman answered all of my questions and gave me suggestions with the upmost decency and patience. He showed me several options based on my specific needs and I walked away educated and feeling great about my purchase. I will DEFINITELY be returning in the future! Great job guys.

I go here to get cheap ammo sometimes. They have a pretty good selection of just about everything. They sell Barnaul 7.62x39 for 6 cent a round. I have never seen 7.62 that cheap anywhere including online. I only come here for ammo but if I needed some police type gear then this is the place I’m heading towards.

I just wanted to say I had a great experience at Town Police Supply. I set up a purchase via e-mail. They found the exact item I was looking for and had it shipped to their Richmond store. All e-mail communication was prompt.Upon arrival at the the store to pick up my order, they processed the normal purchase paperwork in a timely manner. The store is actually quite nice. They have a good selection of items and the store is very well organized.I would do business with them again.

I was highly disappointed in the staff and the answers I received today. I went there to purchase a new AR15 and was told that I could not purchase it without my ID showing my current address. I then stated I have my CCW and other documents to show my current address. I was then told that is still not sufficient and my ID had to show the current address to purchase. Wait, what? So all these firearm purchases that I have done at other stores using my ID and supplementing documents were illegal? Am I incorrect in reading that the ATF states in form 4473 that you may use other government issuing identification, i.e., vehicle registration, hunting/fishing license, concealed permit, etc. that shows your current address in supplement with photo ID to prove identification in section 18b? This was very upsetting for me being that we are in troubling times and I really wanted to make a purchase from this store today. My interactions with them before this were usually friendly and informative but this may have caused them to lose a loyal customer. I will just stick with my FFL dealer or US Gunworx.

First and foremost the professionalism of this store is phenomenal. I have dealt with Chris twice now and even with me not being in the area I would happily take the detour to deal with him. Very informative, not pushy, and really down to earth. The store is very clean and packed with everything that you would need.

Fair place with mostly fair prices. They have a lot considering their size. I would say it beats Cabelas for their inventory but they cannot beat Green Top just because of size limitations. But they have a very surprising amount of inventory and a lot of fairly specific items. They do guns, ammo, and accessories here.

This store has a great staff that will help you out if you have any questions which in my opinion is what makes this a great place to shop. I have made several large purchases there and have been satisfied every time. Recently the store expanded and they have a decent amount of safes now for sale and on display in the showroom. Really great experience overall, but the friendly staff is what makes this place the best gun shop around.

I havent been going here for very long but my experience has been very pleasing. Every time I have had questions about certain purchases they have been more than willing to explain things to me in an understanding manner and not annoyed or condescending. They bore sighted my rem 700 for me even though I bought it elsewhere. Very helpful staff.

Do not come here. I called ahead to ask if they had any glock 48 / 43x magazines in stock and I was told they had 4 after the man on the phone went and checked. I arrived and couldnt find any. I asked the later identified manager and he said they didnt have any. I told him of my phone conversation and all he could do was say he was sorry. He went in the back to look for the person i spoke to on the phone and to find the manager when I asked for one...he came back out minutes later saying he WAS the manager and that the person I talked to must have gone to lunch. I drove an hour here to specifically do business with this store...never again. Its not worth it especially when they blatantly lie about their inventory on the phone. It feels like a scam just to get you here. This place has gone down hill.

HIGHLY SUGGEST GOING ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!! Wanted to support a local business but will never bring my business here again. Was straight lied to about a special order gun sale. Relative of mine put half of the money down to get it ordered and was told that there would be a 5% LEO discount given once the gun comes in and the rest of the gun was paid for. Was also told they would call when it arrived. Not only did they neglect to call when it came in, but when the final transaction was attempted to be made, was told by one associate that they only give LEO discounts on Glocks (which is not what was ordered). After being directed to Hunter W. (who initially told us about the discount for the gun) he then says the 5% only applies to accessories NOT guns of any brand. After we had had enough and asked to cancel our sale to go somewhere else, we are then told there would be a $400+ fee to restock the gun thus basically forcing us to make the purchase. Amazing that this is how they take care of their customers and our LEOs. Definitely worth the drive to go to Green Top or Dances where they actually do what they say and dont lie to make a quick buck off of you! What a disappointment!

Awesome group of folks. Im a LEO and Competitive Shooter and have enjoyed an outstanding business relationship with Town Police. They are the go-to store for many brands and only place I will shop. Far better than Southern Thug World or the regular overpriced commercial outlets.

A patronizing and unhelpful young man employed with the store offered as little assistance as possible while making patronizing remarks towards me and remarking What weve got is right there as if he were the Sovereign of a feudal state and I was a peasant when asked if they stocked a particular silencer brand. I didnt know buddy, guy and pal could be worked into one intelligible sentence.I happily left the store and took my purchase of a pistol and silencer to Colonial Shooting Academy.Carry maybe 1/3 of common silencer brands and apparently wont take receipt of one ordered online - dont recommend if youre interested in class III or dont enjoy an arrogant salesperson who apparently is not interested in your American currency flowing through their store.

I had be meaning to go by this place for a very long time and glad I finally did. They had ample ammo and accessory selection for such a small store. The staff was very nice and helpful pointed out some good deals they had( $10 for 50 rounds of frangible 9mm!). At some other police supply stores civilian customers are kinda ignored and not treated nicely. This was not the case at Town Police. The employees were friendly and happy to talk guns and shooting for a few minutes. Ill definitively be back.My only recommendation would be a little more organization to the store but with their limited space its a difficult challenge.

Best prices in central VA on handguns. They smoke Green Tops and Southern Guns World and Bass Pro shops prices on hand guns and every other gun shop I have called around Richmond in pricing. Only place close in pricing is Liberty and they beat Liberty on my last 3 gun purchases. The staff is helpful and nice. Check them out. They are my new gun store I dont go anywhere else. So glad the opened up. They prices on glocks beat what I have seen at gun shows.

Been going here for 5 years now. Bought pistols, lots of ammo and a too good to be true long gun. On average best prices around. Shop around and most of the time TPS will beat everybody significantly. As with any place of business you may run into an employee whose personality clashes with yours. That doesnt bother me because I save time and $ going here so I win in the long run. I recommend them to anyone shopping for weapons, ammo before they make a decision.

I wanted to do a purchase and ship out of state to another FFL. The manager Will could not give me a confirmation that morning. I needed the gun shipped that day for a Monday arrival. Will sent me a text later that day he did follow through however he was unable to deliver the product I requested. Customer service was great, although we could not do business.

This establishment has their own rules for doing business. Essentially they only want to do business with police or active duty military. For instance, I was given a number of verification steps to establish their legitimate permission to own a assault weapon. And that I was not a police officer or active military, so they could not sell me a box of Remington Golden Saber ammunition.This is an arbitrary decision on their part, and while I do not deny them that right, I will not recommend anyone patronize them. My point of view now is to use them as a display shop where I can look at their inventory to check it out, but my commerce will look elsewhere for the goods. I have already done that with the Ammo, and saved myself 30%.

Customer service was just aweful. The guy was just a complete dick to me for no reason at all. I went to check out and he looked at me like I was stupid as I was trying to hand him my card. Then gets a attitude when I asked him could I try on a grip sleeve for my pistol. Everyone else seemed to be getting stellar service but not me. Went to Bob Moates and got excellent service. I am a vet in the United States Millitary I think i deserve a little more respect than that for serving our country. Not that anyone deserves any less, but this place was just down right disrespectful. Never going to this place again.

The staff is always friendly. They are busy a lot of the time, and there is a reason for that.They work hard to keep ammo in stock and are one of the few FFLs in the area who dont price gouge ammo and firearm prices.Even in the latest firearm craze they stick to their values and keep first responder/ LE prices, which Southern Gun World suspended.When I need ammo or I am looking for a new or used firearm I will always shop here first.Just be carefull trying to do a U-turn at the light at oxbridge square. I was pulled over by a chesterfield officer who told me it was strictly a left hand turn only. However I always see chesterfield police doing u-turns to turn into Town Police haha.

I have to say that my experience with TPS was horrible! Let me start off by saying that I have a concealed handgun permit, so my background check has already been done. With that said, a friend ordered a gun from TPS that took 3+ months to show up. When the firearm DID show up, the one that they sold was not the one that was ordered. They admitted to the mistake, but then tried to say that the purchase was a Straw purchase to me. After being accused of this, which is BS, the Store Manager Mike Solomon, takes a VERY condescending tone with me, proceeds to tell me I can speak to the Regional Manager, which I do. They will take back the firearm, but would have to be put back on ANOTHER waiting list to get the gun that was originally ordered and put a deposit down for. They are not the only gun shop in Richmond and they will never receive any business from me in the future! I know that with the economy and gun supply, especially in Richmond, that its hard to find deals on firearms or ammo. However, after this experience with TPS, I cannot in good conscious recommend TPS to anyone!
