My husband when to the store for help on one of our vehicles. Long story short the pricing for the fix was super high and my husband became very suspicious about it. He did some research and decided to call the store in Troy. To his surprise the same issue was quoted for half the price that our store in Rochester was quoting. Scott the person he spoke to was either trying to rip us off or just didnt want to do it. Thats stealing and very unprofessional.

Someone put a bolt I didnt know how to remove from my license plate. I needed to change it because I just moved back from Texas and needed my new plates on my vehicle. I didnt know what else to do so I called Tuffy. The gentleman working answered the phone promptly when I called to see if they could help me and told me to come in. He was able to get the bolt off and put my new plate on for me. When I need tires Ill be back. Thank you for all of your help!

I went to the dealer got brand new rotors and brakes on my jeep and right after I started hearing a noise... that annoying noise would not stop, of course every time I call they will tell me I need to allow them to wear a little bit ...one year after the noise was worst now it was all the time. This time I lost my faith on the dealer and look for a local shop with good reviews.I am so glad I did. Scott is a very honest and knowledgeable mechanic. It turns out the dealer miss-assemble the front brakes( rookie mechanics) . No more noise and I was charged only for labor. No more dealer for me, I am coming back to Tuffy Tire.Thanks Scott!

Friendly and trust-worthy shop. I took my wifes vehicle in for brake inspection just for precaution. They provided an honest assessment and did not exaggerate things to make me pay for unnecessary repairs.When work does need to get done, they do a great job. Tuffy diagnosed and replaced the brake rotors on my other vehicle last year after repeated failures by dealership to catch issues during multi-point inspections.

Their labeled as a tire shop but when I went in they said their advertised as a tire shop but they don’t work on tires. That makes no sense, their false advertising, please adjust your advertisement with the services that you do provide. Thank you!

Great experience, they took good care of my car. Looked into some things that I mentioned and found some things I didnt know was wrong. 4 stars because they didnt have some of the tools to do the work needed and since their trustworthy I would have rather paid them than go somewhere else. I had a heat shield rattling sound on my Camry! I was in and out of the place under 30 mins with fairly reasonable price!Staff seemed nice and explained/showed the repairs done at my ask and answered all my questions with patience!Would definitely recommend them!Didnt mind it, But thought waiting room could use a bit attention!

My Chevy Equinox started sounding loud from the muffler area, so I took it to Scott at Tuffy. He put it on the hoist and came to the waiting saying oh bad news. You need a whole new catalytic convertor it’s completely bad $910 can we get that started for ya? He went on to say....then after we replace that, you need a new exhaust $600 - $700 more ok?Considering I bought the vehicle less than 2 months ago and it passed a mechanics inspection, I was shocked. So I decided to get a second opinion.Took it right over to another muffler shop nearby. They immediately told me it was the flex pipe and fixed it for $150 in less than an hour!Im not sure if he quoted me to the best of his ability but I saved a fortune by questioning that quote. I’d watch out for any recommendation from this shop that you need a new catalytic convertor and whole new exhaust. Because I did not. This was 03/20/2020.

I have driven past our Rochester Hills Tuffy Service Center (behind Jax Kar Wash) for many years, however, on the way home my exhaust system came apart and needed immediate attention. So I stopped in and met Scot the Owner and before I knew it the repair was completed and I was on my way. Thank you Scot and Dan for the excellent service!

Ive gone here several times for various things (new exhaust system after mine rusted out, ball joint replacement, etc.). Scott is a good guy. Always prompt, friendly, and informative. They tell you what you actually need to fix rather than trying to sell you a bunch of other stuff. Highly recommended!

Went in for a potential issue with my alternator. All other car service places just zapped it with a voltmeter for 5 seconds and tossed me out the door. Tuffy actually ran a full diagnostic exam on all my fuses, wires, alternator, battery, connections, and belts. They got me in quick and did a thorough job. Found out theres nothing wrong with my alternator and they saved me a good $400 and didnt charge me for labor! Thank you so much, guys. Hope you like the Jimmy Johns I sent your way.

Very reliable and reasonably priced. Have been here a few times and appreciate the honesty when the mechanic only recommends completing work that needs to be done and clearly outlines other areas that can wait. Work has also always been high quality with great service.

Called for a quote on a catalytic converter replacement. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes by a rude man. When he came back he said it would be 590$ to replace it and when I asked what it would be if I brought my own in, he said they dont install customer parts. Called Auto Muffler Services, near Groesbeck Hwy, Warren, MI. Got a quote for 250$, and if I bring my own part, he said it would be 50$ labor. The part is 170$ so I figure Ill just have them use their own. 30$ extra is better then 340$. My advice is to look elsewhere, at least before you assume this is your only choice.

Have been taking my Jeep here for a few years now and have had nothing but good experiences. Staff is good about communicating with you while your car is in the shop and the prices are always fair.

I took my Dodge Durango to have the breaks looked at and the found that there was a recall on my vehicle and a problem with my break assist. They were honest with me and even printed the recall sheet for me! Most places would just change my breaks and sent me on my way with the same problem and charged me $500.00+. I was blown away by their integrity and honesty! And, they didnt charge me for the inspection! Wow! If you want someone honest to work on your vehicle.....go to these guys!

Today was the third time ive taken my car/s there in the past 2 years. Each time has been last minute ive taken it to him and ive gotten it back the same day every single time. Scott is affordable, fast and kind.

Extremely shady shop, called for a quote on Spark plugs and wires they told me $850, I then called another Tuffy 10 mins away and magically the price is $450.Go somewhere else that wont rip you off
