Had an absolutely fantastic experience here recently; took my Jeep in that I started having issues with only a couple months after I bought it from a dealer here in town.The Babcock team wasted no time in diagnosing the problems with my vehicle, and even sent me an amazing inspection analysis that helped me prioritize what issues were the most important to address.Everyone there was friendly, the shop itself is absolutely gorgeous and well-kept, and they were beyond-belief fast at repairing my Jeep. On top of all that, they even gave me a lift back to my house, and picked me up to get my car the next day!Had it back in less than 24 hours, just as promised. It drives like a completely different vehicle, and I could not be more pleased. Will definitely be returning here for future mechanical needs!

Over 1000 miles from home when our light came on. Travis was able to fit us into their schedule (on a Friday afternoon), clear the code and get us on the road quickly. Great service when they didnt have to. If we lived in the area, they would be our shop.

This is the first time I have been to Babcock Autocare and I was very pleased from start to finish with my visit. I really liked how they stayed in touch with me while working on my car and sent updates, photos of what they were seeing and then called to go over costs/answer my questions so I could decide about services. I didnt feel pressured into doing things, but I still felt informed about my car. Everybody I talked to was very professional and kind from check-in to the shuttle service. Thank you all very much! We are from out of town and had some car issues, we ended up calling AAA and working with Babcock! Ben was amazing and made us feel like everything was going to be taken care of! They had a shuttle come get us from where our car broke down, they treated us so well and prices were within our budget. Highly recommend!

I’ve been having cars serviced for over 40 years and Babcock Auto is by far the best establishment I’ve ever received car service from. The best customer service, the best diagnostic reports, the best in-store atmosphere, the best at communicating with me and fixing my car, the best follow-up. I wouldn’t say the best price, they aren’t trying to be the cheapest. But, imho, they are the best!

Highly recommend the folks at Babcock. Solid work and great customer service. I brought in my Honda Pilot to diagnose a no-start situation. The techs did a great job finding the problem (dead bank of cylinders), letting me know how much it would cost to diagnose the fix, and describing what the potential fixes might cost. In the end, the engine had sustained valve/piston damage and it wasnt worth replacing it on the car. I typically work on my own cars, so having PDF reports with images of their findings was really great!Since I had only just bought the car from a friend, I was still waiting on the new title to arrive in the mail. Instead of expecting me to get another tow home & have a dead car take up half my driveway, Babcock went above & beyond and let me keep the car on their lot while I waited — even as that wait ended up being about two months. Much appreciated!

UPDATE: Since my original review I have been contacted by one of the owners (Jeana) and a manager (Ben) with the intent to better understand what circumstances occurred that lead to my experiences. Both were an absolute pleasure to speak with and I have received two personal, handwritten letters from Jeana. Their dedication to positive customer experiences and earnest desire to grow and better their business and staff is a pretty rare thing. Ive left my original post so the contrast between my two experiences can be seen. They will be considered again when future services are needed. PREVIOUS POST: Have come here 3 times and unfortunately theyve struck out for us. The guys working the front desk are courteous and the owners are kind as theyve helped a struggling elderly man at my church, but the mechanics weve dealt with seem to have some superiority complex and arent even that good at their jobs. I have an associate degree in automotive repairs so Im fairly familiar with vehicles and repairing them, and the times weve brought a vehicle there was because I didnt have the time or space for the repairs needed and without failure things were blown out of proportion or issues werent even diagnosed properly. I know this because I questioned their findings and made arrangements so I could investigate what was in the mechanics report and found the items questioned to be false or incorrect. Its unfortunate, but one (or in this case two) bad apples will ruin a good pie, so to speak. Trust your gut, and in some cases, paying to get a second opinion can save you money.

Took my vehicle in for an oil change. They told me the threads were stripped on my oil plug and that it was the original and I would need a new oil pan. I told them the oil plug was just replaced in my last oil change?. Hard to find trusted, honest mechanics.

The staff are very friendly and efficient. It is always service with a smile. They are very thorough when servicing your vehicle. They give you readouts as to what further services suggestions your vehicle may need. They also send it to you by text so can review before you pick your car up to see if you want anything else done. They also review it with you when you pick up your vehicle. They suggest but do not push. Recommend. Their cost for labor is comparable to other shops. They back up their work. Their lounge is fabulous. Very customer cozy and professionally done. I just wish this COVID would come to an end. I enjoy waiting while my car is getting an oil change. Another business that partners with them turned me on to them. Im glad they did. Babcock Auto Care is run by a great couple. I suggest them to anyone for great service.

I am pleased to share my experience with others as it is a positive one. I came in for a tire alignment. They checked many other things for me. They found a mouse nest near the air intake and removed that. I had it at my other maintenace place for a 6 month checkup and oil change last spring but they didnt find the mouse nest and I have a feeling it was there then because I knew something didnt run right and now it makes sense why. So I decided to have Babcock do my oil change also as long as I had it there and they did a complete job of checking things out. I will be using them as my maintenance place from now on.

My son bough a car. (which is another story) Babcock Auto was our saving grace. Come to find out, the car had many repairs that were needed. The staff at Babcock Auto were wonderful throughout the entire repair process. They kept us up to date on the repairs, good news and bad news, and my multiple calls to check on things or to ask random questions. They walked us through every step of the way. They were able to get multiple things covered by the extended warranty. They got us in quickly and back on the road in less time than I had anticipated. I would not hesitate to refer anyone I know to Babcock Auto. They truly care about you, and it shows. Ive never felt like an auto repair shop actually cared about me prior to them. If you want a truly professional experience and thorough explanation (including pictures) of all repairs, you will not be disappointed.

EDIT 2: Owner calling me a liar. I have not falsified any information. But lets correct their inaccurate statements. 8 out of 10 clips being 8 seconds and it not being possible to manually do. Incorrect, I submitted 10 clips. But they were 5 front facing and 5 rear facing. So technically 5 clips of the exact same time frame. Only 3 (or 6 front and back were shorter). My equipment was fully functional up until in their possession and fully functional after. Too much of a coincidence. Believe it or not but when faced with an accusation of wrong doing Im not surprised your employee plays innocent. As explained to Matt over the phone the only possibility is manual tampering. Dont insult your customers and dont assume you know anything of my personal life.EDIT: After my original review I was contacted by Matt by phone. He claimed this has never happened before and prided themselves on the job they do. I explained further how this issue with my camera could only have happened with a person physically interacting with it. He asked if I could send him copies of the clips I did have and I eventually agreed. I was told they would look into the situation. The email response I received from one of the owners was very lengthy. Claiming their technician claimed no guilt in the situation and even stating my equipment must have malfunctioned. Funny how it only malfunctioned while they were in possession of my vehicle and never before or after. In the response they claim my review was false and hurt them and how would you like it if this were done to you? We would never do that to you. Now while the owners may want to believe that all there employees are truthful and honest, from my experience it is obvious at least one is not. But the owners refuse to admit any employee could possibly do this despite the evidence. Furthermore Ive noticed a trend among the negative reviews here. The responses to negative reviews are all very very lengthy and try to make them seem perfect and that there couldnt possibly be any negative experiences. That simply doesnt happen. Id rather a business admit when they are wrong and correct the problem. Instead they belittle the customers concerns. Based on their response I do not believe they actually care about customer satisfaction.ORIGINAL: I took my truck in to have the alignment checked as it was pulling to one side and also vibrating while driving. It took almost all day before they got to it but that I can somewhat understand. They did a full inspection of my vehicle as well and the alignment but explained my problem was my tires being worn and separating and that they did not get the problem fixed yet. They gave me the report of everything found and an estimate of what it would cost to repair everything. In total they would want over $5k to fix all the issues they say I had. Thats a total rip off. I know many of these repairs are cheap and easy to do. But I knew they were high priced from talking to others. BUT... The worst part of my experience I discovered the next day. I have a dash cam installed that comes on whenever the truck is on. And it records in 5 min segments continuously. I was curious to watch the footage just to see what all they do. Every single clip from the time they had it cuts off by 30 seconds in. These people purposely shut off my camera each time they started it. To me that says they are trying to hide something and screw over the customer. There is absolutely no reason that camera should have been turned off while the truck was running such as their test drive or when it on the alignment machine running. WHAT ARE THEY HIDDING? Do not go here!

I bought a Mercury Mountaineer from them at the end of September that they played up to me saying everything was in great condition and that they would never sell me a non working vehicle....after purchasing it for $4000 and a commitment to repair anything that went wrong within the first six months....two weeks later the entire transmission failed and the estimated cost to repair it was $1600-$1800. I went to Autumn Ridge Church for some assistance in paying the amount as I did not have the full amount at that point in time and they told me that this is Babcock Autos issue and to confront them on repairing it. They fixed it plus had me get a warranty out of pocket for the used transmission they got from a salvage yard. This transmission had multiple leaks and ultimately was considered failure as well a couple months later. They refuse to refund me the money back for the lemon they sold me and they won’t take back the vehicle either, just a bunch of apologies and how bad they feel that I have all these issues with the vehicle. I own my own businesses and have a family of four children and had always entrusted Babcock to do the right and the best thing for me and my family when it came to auto issues or car repairs. My trust is broken in the Babcock Family and I feel extremely betrayed that they wouldn’t take their non working vehicle back and refund me the money for the purchase and repairs amongst other things my attorney addressed in our letter to them. The Attorney Generals office is backing me as well in this issue and it is still unresolved. Completely bad business practices they are not following the laws in respects to the sales of automobiles from their lot and clearly will do whatever it takes to make their money and take from the vulnerable or hard working citizens of Rochester. Unbelievable at times to think they would act this way towards a loyal customer of over three years!!!! Atrocious

I would like to say, Thank you to Babcock Auto Care. My youngest daughter was stranded in Rochester because her car wouldnt start. Babcock Auto was recommended to us by a local in Rochester. Ben, from Babcock, helped us through this crisis and then some. Babcock fixed the cars problem and then because of a COVID exposure, they delivered it to my older daughters house. I brought my vehicle in with specific requests to look at the transmission and catalytic converter issues that I was experiencing. $200 and 6 hours later they came back saying that there was no issues. I asked them if they smelt rotten eggs when they drove it and they said yes but continued to tell me that there was still nothing wrong but were willing to run another test for an additional $200. And when I asked about the transmission they referred to it as having plenty of power... The power comes from the engine not the transmission, but what do I know Im a female right? Today, 5 months later my transmission is slipping and jolting forward when it shifts gears and my catalytic converter is plugged and the rotten egg smell is pungent every time I step on the gas. Do I repair it or do I junk it...Probably is going to cost me a new car now instead of a couple hundred in repairs that could have been done months ago before the damage was done. In my opinion they saw a female walking in the door and they thought that they could take advantage of the fact that I wouldnt know anything... But guess what I do know a thing or two and I definitely know that that place is a waste of anyones time.

I worked with Ben, and he was extremely helpful! Called my warranty company for me and negotiated for me and got them to pay the most they could. And given a low budget, called to find me cheaper tires to fit my budget. They have a wonderful shuttle, and my vehicle was done in no time. My tire had just blown on the highway, and I was able to barely pull into the lot, in the middle of a snowy, icy, dark evening. Even after they were technically closed, they were able to fix me up quickly and professionally, and sent me on my way. Throughout the entire experience, they were professional and personal level. Overall, I would recommend them 200% to anyone who is looking for any sort of auto work. My experience starts with sending an S.O.S. service request online to receive a personal response moments later re-assuring me that they can see me tomorrow at the time that worked for me. My problem may not have normally seemed so urgent other than I was traveling from out of town with my parents for their crucial appointments at Mayo Clinic at a time when routine appointments arent happening. My issue with my vehicle would have put them at risk of getting sick on the 5 hour drive back home. My back windows wouldnt roll-up. Calling in the following morning I immediately spoke to a very friendly and knowledgeable team member who was able to discuss my problem with me and explain possible causes.I cannot express the weight lifted from me from their reassurance of the evening before and continued support into the next day. If I had them closer to my hometown, I would never bring my vehicles anywhere else. This is a team that cares. My many thanks each of you.

My first experience ever taking a vehicle to an auto repair place without fear of being taken advantage of due to my gender. I consider myself to be a well educated woman but I admittedly know very little about cars. My husband recommended Babcock and suggested we consider making them our auto repair place of choice, for all needs from small and minor to more costly. He absolutely made the right choice. I could not have been happier with my experience there. The front office staff greeted me kindly, and it was a very welcoming environment. Though I went in there for a minor problem, my vehicle was given a thorough check so I could be made aware of any future maintenance, as well as emergent needs. I did not have the slightest trace of the anxiety I have felt in any other similar business I have entered. I certainly did not mind waiting for my vehicle to be done, as there was a comfy seating area, as well as coffee available, plenty of magazines and a flat screen TV. I forgot for a few minutes I was even somewhere getting my vehicle inspected. I’m not by habit very trusting of these types of businesses simply because of bad past experiences, but I was more than pleasantly surprised by how I was treated, by the thoroughness of the inspection my vehicle received, and by the amount of time they spent outlining what they noticed, areas of concern, etc. It did not just put me at ease, but it felt refreshingly honest. They were not there to suggest repairs that were not needed. It put me at ease. I feel very safe taking my car to Babcock for any future needs and would highly recommend it to others. Whether you need an oil change or a new transmission, stop by and see Steve or Dan. You will not be disappointed!!

Over the years Ive only had great service here. Two vehicles and about 6 years later....they are all just great there. They always ensure that everything is in great working order. Overall this is a great place. Quickly diagnosed problem and even very patiently waited and stored the car there while I tried to get another company involved.The only minor thing holding back is that I felt it was a tad bit pricey. However, you may value the quality of work for the higher price.

Theyre friendly, honest, and gave me a thorough explanation of what they found wrong with my car. They also gave me some good advice on my next steps. As somebody who doesnt know much about cars, I needed to find a shop that was going to be honest and caring. Babcock went above and beyond helping me get my car on the road. I now wont let anyone else touch my car. I know when I take it in, they will honestly tell me what I need to have done now, and what can wait until next time. When something breaks on my car, they always make time to get me in and back on the road, keeping my car safe for me and my children. Repairs were completed as agreed and everything seems to be fixed. However, for the repair/services provided the cost is high. I did some comparative cost estimates after the repair was complete - Bobcock is on the pricey end of the scale. Also I didnt agree with how they charged me for a full radiator flush cost and full cost of the radiator repair. To replace the radiator - all the fluid was drained out. Why did I pay for that refill of radiator fluid and the full cost of the flush. Does not seem fair - I tried to ask questions when I picked it up but there was not real explanation given - just it is what it is.

Our truck broke down this morning. We dont live near here. We called Babcock and they reassured us and gave us confidence that it could be fixed today at a low cost. Everyone was so nice to us. We worked with Mike, excellent customer service. Of course, we were wary, knowing that we were in a tight situation and that this could cost more than we want. However, we were proven wrong. We were invited back to the shop and Derek, the mechanic, explained what exactly was wrong with our truck. The transfer case had to be replaced. They worked hard to find an affordable replacement for us. We just cant say enough about how well we were treated, how great the quality of work was, and how affordable everything ended up costing. We only wish that we lived closer -- so Babcock could be our permanent mechanic shop.

My wife and I have been looking for a competent shop that we thought we could trust. I recently took my car in for an oil change and some other required service. Everything was done as expected, but there was a bit of an unanticipated glitch also - my car wouldnt even start when I went to pick it up. Now my wife and I anticipate being long time customers. The problem was handled quickly and in a way that left me convinced that Babcock is a shop that does competent work and treats customers honorably.

They were able to find out what was wrong with my SUV in a timely manner and get it fixed just as fast! Was so estatic to hear they had a shuttle for me at the shop. It was awesome to not have to struggle my way to finding a ride from the shop and then back to my SUV when it was fixed. It made the whole fact I was far from home with a broken car so much less stressful.

I had a very specific tire model and size request to replace the tires on my 2015 F-150. Not only did I receive fantastic customer service and communication, Babcock Auto saved me $275 compared to other local dedicated tire shops and dealerships. In addition, their vehicle inspection report, the equivalent of a medical routine physical for your car or truck, even included detailed photos so I could see closeup for myself what the technicians were seeing firsthand. If you aren’t using Babcock Auto as your auto service professionals, you owe it to yourself and your vehicle to give them a try and experience the difference. You won’t be disappointed.

First time customer, first experience was excellent !I stopped in yesterday with (what seemed urgent to me) an issue on my Dodge Caravan that I need to get fix. No appointment. Rather than scheduling me out 2 or 3 days, Lisa Nolan was able to get the van in the same day and was so great to interact with. Impressive facility and 5 star service!!! I didnt even have an appointment but Troy helped me out with a smile and was able to ease my concerns by keeping me updated with my repair and explaining my options... even emailed me a detailed report (with pictures!) of my vehicles condition. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and knowing that the business is locally family-owned is a big plus in my book! Ill be back!!

I have been taking my vehicles to Babcock for the past 5 years (one is a high mileage full-size SUV, the other is a German performance car). I consistently get superb auto maintenance and service from Babcock. Keep in mind that they are expensive, but you get what you pay for.

5 stars as always! From the quality of work, to price, to sense of urgency and even down to the staff, Ive never had an experience that ever made me think less. I do have a 9 year old vehicle with fairly high mileage (I drive approx. 25,000+ miles per year) and yet thanks to Babcock Auto it performs like new. I have recommended Babcock Auto to anyone and everyone and will continue to do so. I cant thank the staff enough for everything theyve done over the past few years on my car and for me as a customer.

I would recommend this place to anyone needing vehicle maintenance and repair. Everyone was so friendly and took care of me right away. I also loved the play area they have for kids. My 1 year old loved playing with all the toys and it kept her entertained. Great customer service. I also like that they have a rewards program. Keep up the great work! I came here after reading the reviews online and I agree this place is fantastic! I will definitely bring my car there again for routine maintenance and any repairs it might need in the future. :)

Such a warm environment! I almost didnt mind waiting for my vehicle to be finished and wanted to stay in front of the fireplace with coffee in hand (rather than a complementary ride home). Let me start of my review by saying that Babcock has great customer service- they treated me very well throughout the car repair process. But their work in my experience was a hack job.I was visiting Rochester from out of town and needed a few expensive repairs done. Babcock performed 3 repairs for me- 2 of which have had to be re-done since my return home. We had to bring the car back to them multiple times while in town, as new problems magically appeared after they worked on our car, and they had difficulty getting the repairs right. Not only did 2 of their repairs fail, but my power steering stopped working THE DAY after they worked on my car. Not a coincidence. But they happily replaced the power steering pump, only to have it fail on our drive home. I payed them $2300 for failed repairs and them creating new problems.In summary, thank heaven for their parts warranty! Ive had my mechanic at home fix their repairs under warranty, with no problems. My car is driving great now, but I would never give Babcock my business again. Nice people, but the lowest quality work Ive ever had done on my car.

I’m new to the area and tried Babcock after reading great reviews online. I’ve had my tires replaced, oil changed, and engine diagnostics done here and plan to come back for future services. I’ve been very happy with the service, the friendliness and honesty of the staff, and the cleanliness of the facility! Worked with Mike and Steve on separate occasions - both are extremely personable and know what they’re doing. I love the user-friendly website and electronic communication for reminders etc. I also love getting a full report of each service with pictures and details on what was done and who worked on my car - so helpful!

I recently brought my older 99 k1500 in for some rear drive shaft work. WOW!! What a great place! The guys in shop did a phenomenal job and the guys at the front of house, like Steve, made the experience beyond amazing!!! All my vehicles will now be going here! Good over all experience - they replaced my brakes - front and back - set up my appointment at Ford to have my brake booster replaced, under recall. However I am a little disappointment in one very small but key thing - no one washed my car. Remember in customer service - the small things go along way. I spent a lot of money - and I would have assumed they would have washed my car. I could be over thinking but I think that if you spend a decent amount of money - they could do you the courtesy of washing your car. BOTH Ford and Babcock failed in that aspect but I was very happy with the service that Ben provided.

Was very disappointed in my last experience. Got a estimate for spark plugs and ignition coils (6) very confusing estimate, parts were unbelievably high, labor ok. Called another shop recommended to me . 650. Parts and labor. Babcock first estimate almost 3000. Second revised estimate 2100. So happy I educated myself on parts costs. WAS a good customer. Now no why can I trust accurate and fare prices.

I have gone to Babcock Auto since the day their door opened. The service has been above and beyond. I have a vehicle that requires me to go to the cities to have its maintenance done. I had an issue where I was told by a quick shop that I stopped in to purchase a windshield wiper blade and he smelled coolant while installing my blade. He offered that he could fix the water pump for me because he was sure it was leaking. I politely said no thank you and immediately called Babcock. They took it in right away since driving it could have been detrimental. They had to order the correct parts since they do not carry parts for this type of vehicle, and fixed it. Later, I found out I should have had it towed to the cities, but after talking with Babcock, they felt confident that they did everything correctly as for investigated the correct parts etc.... they reimbursed me my parts money since it was still under warranty. Almost unheard of. I also have to say it is the most COMFORTABLE waiting room I have ever been in. I could just snuggle in if they would provide a blanket! Keep it up.... customer service seems to be lacking in this world. This company knows how to treat customers.

On our way through town the front passenger wheel on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee started to make a squealing noise, called them ahead and got us in right away. Tech looked and couldn’t hear the noise and when I rode with the tech to my surprise the noise was gone. They said it must have been a piece of debris that was causing the noise and when we asked what we owed they said nothing since it only took 20-30 mins. We were treated very well like we were in a small town shop and not out-of-towners. 10/10 recommend and would come here if we ever have car troubles again in the area.

My relationship with Jeremy started long before he and Jeana opened Backcock Auto Care. Very quickly my trust in Jeremy grew. It was great to see Jeremy have the opportunity to open Babcock Auto Care. I’ve come to know the core Babcock crew. They have worked on all of my vehicles throughout the years. I have done comparative pricing at times and have always found their pricing fair. On occasion, I may have found a slightly better price/special, but I would still choose Babcock - they have history with my vehicles and I have built up a level of trust with them. I’m rating them ‘5 star’ not because they are perfect, but because in the end all service has been completed satisfactorily and in a few cases where it wasn’t quite right, they’ve always made it ‘right’ and treated my fairly. I appreciate how Jeana/Jeana run their business. I feel they want to do more than just ‘do the work’. They also want to build a relationship with you and will go the extra mile for you. Highly recommend them.

I usually dont write reviews, but let me start off by saying a BIG THANK YOU to the staffs at this shop. They went above and beyond to answer any and all questions/concerns I had. Mike was very knowledgeable and was easy to work with. I setup an appointment and they got me in quicker than I expected. I was given a time frame for when my vehicle will be ready to be picked up, and it was actually done sooner than what was originally said.
