Loved this place! Cider & donuts were wonderful. We also got some lunch (apple bacon grilled cheese & a corned beef Reuben). Both were absolutely incredible!!!! Best sandwich Ive had in ages. They have a great variety of food, crafted sodas, sweet treats, jams, salsas, honey, syrup, ice cream, just all kinds of delicious stuff! Cute atmosphere, friendly staff, well worth the visit! π
I was really impressed by the menu, there were a lot more options than I was expecting. I tried a pulled pork burger, which was outstanding, but I also saw they have coneys, sandwiches, wraps, smoked meats, donuts, ice cream, cider, and tons of other options. Im going to need to go back a few times to sample it all!If youre out for a long bike ride on Paint Creek Trail its well worth stopping at the cider mill to break up your ride.
My family and I love the donuts and hot apple cider here. Everyone working there is very polite. We have been coming here every fall for the past two years. Today we had a wonderful lunch before walking the trail. Definitely our favorite fall cider mill!
This is a great place to stop along side the Paint Creek Trail. Plenty of parking for your bikes and cars with easy access to the trail and nice outdoor seating area thats dog-friendly. They have really good burgers, wraps and sandwiches as well as delicious donuts and cider.
Iβd have given 5 stars if not for what happened today. We ordered at 6.30p & got most of our food pretty quick (10-15mins). We kept following up on one burger & were told multiple times that it was coming out. Turned out they didnβt put it in (wasnβt billed for it) & they inly told us about it at 7.30p. They were already closed. No apologies, just βwe didnβt bill you for it so thereβs no burgerβ. Not sure why they kept telling us it was coming out then. The young man at the register needs to pay more attention.
The best cider mill doughnuts in the state that I have been able to find yet. Wonderful long walk trails. Lunches and dinners available featuring in house smoked meats. Various preserves and jarred goods as well as snacks. The serve cider hot, cold, homemade soda and ice cream. One of my favorite places to visit.
Fairly predictable for a cider mill. They had cider, donuts, ice cream, interesting jars of jelly, barbecue sauce, etc. $26.50 will get you 1 gallon of cider, 6 donuts, an ice cream and a shake with a small tip in 2021. The person serving us was pleasant. Theres a nice photo op by the water wheel that isnt running anymore. It was very good cider, which really should be what you go to a cider mill for. I feel like to earn a five you should be able to see them pressing cider with power from the the water wheel. My son enjoyed the ice cream very much.
Its my favorite cider mill, and Im upset that its not going to be a cider mill anymore after 12/2021. I always have enjoyed going there in the Fall to get a donut and hot cider, and then taking a walk on the Paint Creek Trail.
The donuts were delicious( I had mixed sugar and no sugar) so was the cider! But I recommend just getting those two things because what I had already stopped me from trying something new. I had two chili dogs and fries the besting thing on that plate was the fries. The hotdogs were cold on the inside and out, the bread was cold, and the chili was good but it wouldβve been better if it was actually warm. We didnβt go when it was to crowded if you think that, we didnβt wait to long to eat it either as soon as we went to get the food (it was our first time we didnβt know they bring it out) he was already trying to bring it to us. DONT GET THE CHILI DOGS! But besides that it was a fun experience! Like I said before the the donuts were good and so is the cider. If the chili dogs were actually hot I would give them 5/5 stars!π
Best pulled pork sandwich Ive ever had! Nolan who took my order is very friendly, polite and attentive. Gotta come check this place out! The owner really knows how to cook some great food!
Was not impressed. Very very pricey.. eight bucks for a half a dozen donuts seven bucks for a quart of cider although the cider is good I will give it that much tried some dinner there I was not impressed with it . Yates is still number one in my opinion
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this cozy little establishment that boasts of homemade breads and pastrys. I initially stopped in for the obligatory 1/2 dozen cinnamon/sugar donuts, but upon entering i was greeted by Ed, a softspoken mountain of a man who showed me the extensive menu which bragged of all sorts of treats and bbqs and ciders. There was even a dish with doggy treats so your canine companion can enjoy a snack with you. I ended up settling on the candied bacon, half dozen doughnuts and a 2x bbq plate which included 2 meats and 2 sides. I got pulled pork and brisket, both of which were prepared to perfection. I chose Mac and cheese with Cole slaw for my sides The former was ok, the latter left something to be desired. The wait was no longer or shorter than your typical smokehouse wait. All in all this was an enjoyable lunch and i will definitely return in the future.
Quick in and out; fresh, warm donuts; ice cold apple cider. And a nice lunch menu too! Worth a visit!
Just got cider and donuts. The cider is pasteurized and seemed to be Blakes or bottles by blakes. Donuts were served cold and left my mouth oily. Good atmosphere and nice seating area.
Cool building. Really small space otherwise. Food was terribly overpriced, hotdog was the cheapest option at $4 and pretty sub-par. Cider and donuts okay. Sooooo many wasps outside. Staff was nice. Wouldnt go out of my way to come back here.
Always nice stopping here. My wife and I like to stop for a break during long bike rides. The cider is great and its a tradition to visit in the fall.
It was a nice place to eat and relax i took a few pics by the sunflowers and the big water wheel and the creek. But not much to do besides eat. :/
Love the place. Right on the river, plenty of history. Delicious and fresh food!
The food was great but the young man behind the counter was extremely rude to my wife and kids. He claimed they were closed and refused to let her use the restroom even though they were still serving customers and it was 45 minutes before their posted closing time. Well check out some of the other Cider Mills from now on.
Omg! Best Pulled Pork Sandwich EVER! Was in a really bad mood all day. Never been here before and figured Id see what they had to offer. As soon as that first bite hit my tongue? It was as if all my worries were melted away by Smokey goodness! Only let down was that the hall over the pond was closed when I got there, but a very pretty sight none-the-less!
On our bike trail we found this and was a great experience! The ice cream was very tasty and the servers were so cute!!! Two cute kids served us! Itβs a family business as we could see but I really liked that they teach their children how to treat people nice and how to honestly earn money! Was a great surprise to see the little one closing at the end of program and both of them maintaining the place clean! Was not so pricey and was worth to stop and enjoy the nature on their terrace! Also they have there old machines that show to the public the history of that place! Very refreshing on a hot summer day I definitely recommend this place for every single one! π¦ππ»π₯³ Good job kids!
Im sure they have good cider and doughnuts here, but after the guy yelled at us for bringing a picnic to which we were surprised because wed never been to a cider mill that didnt allow outside food. He was extremely rude and I will never come here again. Were all struggling during this time and we dont need rude people yelling at each other. Im glad my sister apologized so sweetly to the man because if it were me I would have stooped to his level. I really wanted cider and doughnuts today, but we were so upset we didnt want to support anyone who treats people like that so we went without. - I dont know how to reply to the guy who replied, but yes, there was yelling and we did not see the signs so you could have pointed them out respectfully. We said we were happy to leave if you wanted us to. Again, we WERE going to buy the cider and doughnuts, but after your disrespect we no longer felt compelled to as you were very rude to us.
It was ok, would probably be better in the fall. Just went in for a quick donut and bathroom break before getting back on the paintcreek bike trail.
Delicious pizza and ice cream! Hand dipped Hersheyβs ice cream was great. Pizza had lots of cheese and toppings and was cooked perfectly. Canβt wait to try the rest of their food
Great fun and wonderful donuts and apple fried pies.
Hand scooped ice cream and baked goods are good, great place to visit
This place has a rustic atmosphere and is a great place to stop at while biking on the Paint Creek Trail. They have an ice cream bar as well as sell cold beverages, snacks, candy, and also offer full meals including sandwiches, burgers, BBQ, and more.
Love the out of the oven warm freshly made donuts!
Great cider and donuts and very friendly staff located right in the Paint Creek Trail!
Great place to visit. employees are kind and gracious. Clean and relaxing atmosphere. I highly Recommend going here
Paint Creek Cider Mill has a lot of historic items on display as decorations inside and outside the building, including the original water Mill which isnt used any more. They also have a cider press that is over 200 years old, and a human-powered log carrier on display. We had fresh cold Apple Cider drinks which were tasted great on a hot day and so did the ice cream and doughnuts. There is a good selection of snack, local made items like honey and soap and salsa, and good prices on the cider and ice cream. We had never been to Paint Creek Cider Mill but we will definitely go back again. The Herseys brand ice cream really hit the spot. And I want to try their smoked kielbasa for lunch π
Small place not able to see apples being pressed. Ice cream is very good cider excellent and pulled pork sandwich very good
Amazing food, amazing service, and the owner is so kind and accommodating!
Stopped by on our bikes. Ordered up a Coney dog after a long wait in line. They have a lot of options and ordering seems to take too long for everyone. Food was good. A bit pricey. Chairs are not great.
Such great food all from scratch!!! The service is always great!! Cant wait to go back! Highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys home cooking along with a huge assortment of Michigan made products! I cant say enough good things about this place!!
Paint Creek by far has one of the best ole fashion donut out there, theyve also extended the menu with choices of ice cream, BBQ, sandwiches and homemade seasonal sausage plates. Theyre open year round, definitely a nice spot to take the family and enjoy all that they offer year round, I only took a star off due to the cider is not as expected, a bit heavy and slightly too strong of an acid flavour.
Carmel apples, yum!!Blueberry Zucchini bread very good!
The ice cream is superb and good value!! You may to wait as it gets busy at the WE.
Cider and donut by the water wheel with grandson. Beautiful day.
Nice atmosphere, good cider and donuts.
They have great food here and lots of bike paths in the area to exercise after eating cider donuts π.
Donuts were very good and a great selection of ice cream
The building itself is interesting and during other hours thereβs opportunity to look around. The servers were friendly and thereβs a decent amount of spaced out outdoor seating. The hang up to consider is you need to cross the street to get to any of the pain creek walking paths. Be aware of this if you have children you donβt have a cross walk but the street isnβt particularly busy. The cider was good and the donuts were okay I feel like thereβs better in the metro Detroit area. Lots of other good options this may be a better lunch spot than a βcider millβ designation.
Good cider! Our donuts tasted good but Ive had better. Right off of the hiking trail so a good halfway point stop to rest. They also do have a full menu of food! Tons of choices from BBQ to pizza and sandwiches. They also do ice cream.
Nice place to relax. Recommend their own brewed root beers.
We stopped for a little something as we were biking on the trail that is right behind the Cider mill.....Food and cider was delicious, we had the BBQ Pork wrap....so yummy
Top notch pizza! My friend and I shared a pizza and salad. The Maurice Salad was generous, but not exactly like Hudsons classic. Hudsons original had thick dressing on top, while Paint Creeks is watery and tossed in. Pizza A+, salad B-.
Great menu and outdoor dining!
Beautiful place near the paint creek trail
Dont know if it was the season or what but when we visited I dont remember them having fresh cider from their own facility. The cider they had in the store had labels from across the state on it. Made me wonder if the apple cider wasnt local... what else wasnt. Were supposed to be going to a cider mill, not Tim Hortons.
The inside is very tiny, but there are tables outside for dining. They serve lots of dinner sandwiches and entrees in addition to cider and donuts. Their apple bread pudding is absolutely AMAZING! Also located right off of the Painted Creek trail, so this is an ideal location for a Fall cider mill and stroll date
Stopped in for lunch. Service and food were excellent. I had the brisket and pulled pork, both were awesome.
Cold soft drinks, ice cream and more.
Nice place but over price.
Delicious donuts and hot cider which are a must have !!! They have an actual restaurant as well and the food looks good, but I havent tried it yet. The staff was really nice and they have outdoor seating. The mill is very close to a hiking trail which is very convenient!!! Would definitely recommend visiting this mill.
Way to long of a wait. Cider is from Blakes, which is excellent but has a super reduced wait timeEdit: response to owner: thanks for your grammatical correction, sorry for the mistake. Covid definitely doesnt help. My suggestion would be having a station outside selling strictly donuts and cider for the quick in and outs. We waited over an hour for a 1 minute transaction. Youre welcome.
Now that its the season for apple cider and donuts, most mills are pretty busy ! but after driving around to a few in the area, i found that this one was the least busy while still having quality food and service !! i only ordered a half gallon on cider and donuts but their menu is pretty extensive considering its a cider mill and everything sounded so good, ill have to come back to try it. i recommend this place 9/10 !!
Very unsuspecting restaurant, with surprisingly good food. Had a turkey Reuben sandwich with their homemade bread and their in-house smoked turkey. It was excellent! I Highly recommend this place
Beautiful location very quaint.
The cider is second to none. The donuts, while not perfect, probably wont spoil your trip. Goodison Cider Mill is within walking distance if youre picky about the quality of your donuts. Paint Creek also has a cute little shop with ice cream, a lunch menu, jams, and various other items.
Very good cinnamon sugar donuts! Pizza made to order was delicious. Lots of goodies for sale to take home as well as ice cream by the scoop. Great service.
Another great experience. Had the smoked brisket and house beans
Such delicious food! We stopped by this location twice while riding bikes on the Paint Creek Trail, and we absolutely love their bbq and sides. The Mediterranean salad is also very delicious.
Good food and nice area
This review is in regards to their milkshakes. Ordered two, both were mostly milk with maybe one small scoop of icecream? Tasted like I was drinking slightly flavored milk, and was the consistency of milk. Very disappointed, by far the worst milk shakes Ive ever had, and definitely not worth $4.50. hopefully their cider and donuts are better! The location next to paint Creek trail is great and there is outdoor seating.
Love Paint Creeks donuts! Ive also had their Donut Burger which is out of this world! Right now, its only on the specials menu - hopefully, they make it as part of their regular menu.
We love it here! Unique, small cider mill with great food too,!
Very nice cider mill!Good donuts!
Fathers day pig roast was the best pork Ive ever had. Melts in your mouth. Great staff! My whole group was especially impressed with the young man working the register. I love seeing a family operated business.
Fun place. Amazing selection of food products. And worth 5 stars!
Came by for the first time in years, and sorry, but your doughnuts just dont compare.
WOW, what a great place. Didnt know they had great barbecue there. Nice place, prices are kinda high. But the food is excellent π Ill be back here again soon.
A nice place to visit. The bldg. Is rustic modern with a lot of outdoor space available for sitting. There is easy Access to the Paint Creek trail.
Great place. Awesome cider and doughnuts are much less oily than other cider mills. Right next to the Paint Creek trail so can you walk off the doughnuts.
Good donuts and cider. Didnt have candied bacon. Nice trail walk
The hot apple cider is the best I have had....and the cinnamon donuts...yummy!
Great BBQ and donuts :)
Amazing food and Great people working behind the counter!!
They are currently selling smoke meats.
Delicious doughnuts and cider. Many other local goods like honey and ice cream.
Nothing special it was ok
Paint creek cider mill is one of my favorite cider mills in all of Michigan. I am a big fan of apple cider as well as the Apple Turkey bacon sandwich which I highly recommended. its in the perfect location nestled right off the paint creek Trail which has easy access from many different locations. Its a quick walk from many of the parking lot associated with the Trail. The pricing is a little bit expensive, but I think may have some of the best cider out of most of the local Mills. They have a small but quaint outdoor patio seating which is generally open during the midday in the fall. We enjoy hiking a few miles an grabbing and ice cold apple cider and hot doughnut.
I love all of Michigans cider mills but this one is one of my familys favorite because its open year-round. Great place with history.. Loved the apple-squash bread.. π
Tasty.
Very expensive.
Excellent place!! This is a very well kept secret in Oakland Township! If you like BBQ and good food, this is your place. Ive tried many things off their menu and have never been disappointed! From pulled port, brisket to pizza, everything is very well done. Highly recommended.
Great, cider mill open.
Very nice family place....food really good and loved the donuts π©
Very nice cider mill well maintained and friendly person behind the counter.
Cider n Donuts all Soo good.Wish they could fix water wheel. Busy fun clean
