Sound source is mostly IMO a used pro audio and musical instrument store. You can find lots of boutique and vintage items that are either on consignment or directly sold by the store. Its great experience and vital to any musician or a sound engineer looking to save a Buck and keep good items in circulation instead of the landfill. A lot of this older stuff is of a quality that is nearly non-existent. I think they also do PA rentals and equipment repair. They do sell some new stuff as well.

There is no place better to go in WNY for your musical needs. Integrity, kindness and the ability to hear what youre saying makes the staff there stand out. Whatever Im looking they almost always have it at a fair price. If they dont have it or cant do it they will still help you figure it out. Headed there this afternoon!

Sound Source is the best music shop in Rochester for Pro Audio gear, keyboards, Cables and adapters, Guitars, Effects Pedals, Electric Basses, and recording studio equipment. They have the only repair service in town that will fix most pro audio equipment. They also have the best prices on strings and drum heads anywhere in Rochester. Great small business vibes!

Sound Source is heaven on Earth for me anyway they got pro-audio they got instruments that got synthesizers they got everything you would possibly want if youre an a/v person. Great variety of electronic parts for your instruments, and amplifiers. They sell new and used equipment. And it is definitely a place I stop every time Im in the area. They carry things at your local Guitar Center dont.

Best small music store in Rochester. The folks here always take care of their local musicians. They do a lot of local gear (cables, effects, etc.) And just all around are awesome. Always fair prices, and if they dont have what you are looking for, they will find it for you.

Nice place for audio equipment

I love Sound Source. Its fun to stop in and spend a few minutes browsing the selection of used gear they have. You never know what you might find. As a drummer, they dont have a huge selection acoustic drum gear (just sticks and accessories), but they have quite a bit of live sound/recording gear which I also enjoy.

Nick Cash is the man to go to for ANY repairs!! He did an absolutely incredible job on my Marshall head and went through everything to make sure it was working before he sent it out the door! Quality work for extremely low prices. Could not be happier!!

This is the best music store in Rochester. They do flawless repairs and usually dont charge you for quick fix stuff. Great customer service, great selection, fun staff.

Im a little bent about their -10% return policy.. returned a case that was too small for my guitar. Never removed tags. Never used. I essentially had to pay them about 12 bucks to take it to my house and back. And they wrote me a check to top it off! Thanks guys.

Sound Source: Excellent prices, it can be like shopping on the web, even with tax. For decades now, they have been able to price to please customers and pay the costs for keeping a hands on showroom available to the public. Great resource for beginners, amateurs, semi-pro and pro musicians. Always some very good used equipment on hand, and also accurately priced consignment items. Of course, a big part of the success is due to the knowledgeable staff. You feel like youre partners in making music rather than just a buyer and a seller.

Very hard to find parking and had to use back door(limited signs). Good customer service and had answers to all of my questions without a problem. Cheap products with good quality.

Sound Source is one of those great local music stores that has good selection of new, used, and consignment equipment and accessories. They gave me a fair price for a large road case left over from my gigging days. Stop in and see if they have what you need before trying the corporate chain music operations.

The best store for musicians in Rochester bar none. They are the ONLY place I bring gear to be worked on. Their techs are masters who can fix or tune-up pretty much anything related to their trade. Great guys, friendly and knowledgeable with reasonable prices.

Service was nothing less than spectacular, I had a piano I thought was broken but within 10 minutes of being there the piano was up and running like new, no bs.
