I was so happy with the service I received on Wednesday 7/28. I arrived at 6 pm to try to purchase glasses knowing they closed at 6:30 and was worried it would be too late. It was the best I could do with my work hours. Johnny was absolutely the best. He helped me pick frames and made sure I got exactly what I needed. He stayed late just to make sure I could get what I needed. He is an exceptional person and I would recommend visionworks to everyone.

I have literally NEVER left a review anywhere, good or bad. And I’ve experienced some pretty bad (and good) service. This place is the absolute worst. I had an appointment last week. I was SIX minutes late because my daughter puked all over her crib before I left. This week (the rescheduled appointment), I got there five minutes early, waited 20 minutes with my 1.5 year old daughter, and they proceeded to ask me twenty minutes in if I had anyone who could watch my daughter. I said no. I’m a single mom. It doesn’t always work like that. They then told me it would be difficult with her and that I had to wait another FORTY minutes. So they can’t get me in the day that I had a sitter for my daughter and was six minutes late but are going to make me wait an hour plus when I have to bring her?!? I’m sorry I’m just BAFFLED.

The staff members are very nice and welcoming as well as professional I have to say they explain to last detail on what you need and they tell you why, they do offer add-on but only for you’re own benefit and eye problem you may have and they are not pushing the sale which is the best part, happy to say The Dr is very great, Definitely a place where you want to spend you’re money and trust your eyes. Thank you so much.

Their services are excellent, very educated staff relate how to fix and repair the frame. Very happy with this store.

I purchased my glasses here a while ago and needed them adjusted. Shelley cleaned my glasses and was extremely friendly and helpful. My previous experiences at this store have always been great! I would highly recommend this store for eye exams, glasses and contacts!

Will not ever be returning. They over booked our appointments, then because of their error threatened to not let us buy our glasses unless we chose frames in 5 minutes, because they were closing and refused to stay a few minutes late. Husbands glasses were a month late due to them making another error while rushing through the ordering process. Several employees stood around doing nothing while I waited to have someone help me, even though the girl putting husbands order in asked several times for someone to help me. They just all stood there staring at me. I believe my insurance was also billed incorrectly, Ive never paid that much for my glasses with full comprehensive insurance in my life. My husband recieved 2 pairs of glasses that were not made correctly so he could not wear until they remade both pairs again and remailed again. A MONTH LATER. Staff was beyond rude, careless, and unhelpful. Was overcharged $15 for 3 day shipping that never came within the time frame. The final insult was how cheaply glasses were made, I will not even be able to wear mine. So many other great eyeglass shops in Rockford...skip this one if you would like to be treated like a person, not another annoyance to them, and if you would like to be able to wear the glasses you spend your hard earned money on.

I went to them as when called and asked if they had same day service. They do not. I also only wanted one pair tinted and they did both. I have to take a second trip to get this corrected to regular lenses in one as they can change since it was already transmitted. So now I have to drive back 45 mins each way again after waiting up to two weeks to get them changed and then to wait another 2 weeks for them again.

I have been going to this store for over 20 years. I have never received a bad prescription. I have very bad eyes so I want to know I am seeing someone I can trust and Vision works is definitely a place I can trust. I have new eye insurance and I believe they are in my plan. Hope to be in soon for my next visit. Thank you!

I only went here bc my new vision insurance has no good providers in Network. Dr. Butala was very nice and pleasant! However, I hated my shopping experience. Im not amused by hearing the staff on the sales floor talk about patients who are waiting in back for the Doctor. I was very clear on exactly what I style and size I was looking for. I even called ahead to make sure there was stock in specific sizes prior to going there. After browsing for a bit and found nothing, I went back to the waiting area. I could hear a sales lady talking to others, All of these are too small for her?? with a snotty little voice. I believe it was the same woman who kept showing me frames in the sizes that were exactly what I was not looking for. After the 10th time being told the frame is too small and I wanted a specific size and up, youd think she wouldve taken the hint. Ive worked in retail and customer service for a very long time - basic rule number 1. NEVER LET CUSTOMERS HEAR YOU TALKING ABOUT THEM BEHIND THEIR BACKS. By now Ive been waiting for an hour for the dr so I went back for a 2nd look after giving them a chance to clean the mounds of dirty frames and found 1 option in two colors. The BOGO {really} campaign is not valid if you are using insurance or so I was told. My roommate when to Eyeglass World hours earlier and got 2 pair of frames (same day) with lenses and protection plan and for $60 less than what I wouldve paid for 1 pair with the cheapest of cheap lenses. It also wouldve been nice to have been told on the phone prior to arriving that it would take AT LEAST 2 weeks for the glasses to arrive as well because of Texas. Needless to say, I left empty handed and was reminded why I went to other places and stayed away from here.

I Had a great experience. The doctor was amazing. But even better, the lady that helped me pick out my glasses basically knew my face better than I did. I believe her name was Heather, I picked out a pair of frames and she directed me in a whole different direction. Long story short I bought the frames Heather recommended and I love them. THANK YOU HEATHER!!

I feel some of the staff was very rude. When I asked why I was being charged the amount I was being charged I was told I was being rude for asking. I have insurance and would have appreciated a break down of the charges but I guess it was to much of a inconvenience.

Im so glad I switched to Visionworks in Rockford...simply the best place to get glasses! Dr. Patel is excellent...he gave me the best prescription and lenses Ive ever had...which is saying a lot, considering how bad my eyes are. The staff is absolutely awesome...knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. Due to the nature of the frames I selected, it took multiple visits to get the fit right. Heather and Veronica were both so very helpful...and Heather has the patience of a saint. THANK YOU all...you are the BEST!!!

I had an exam & bought glasses here today. Dr Patel is fantastic. He was very kind & understanding. He explained why he was doing an exam for bifocals (I have to get progressive lenses). The ladies who helped me find glasses were great too. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Our youngest son was having problems seeing the scoreboard at his sporting events and seeing the chalkboard in his classroom. I was able to get him scheduled for an eye exam quickly and was very impressed with how thorough of an exam he received from Dr Patel. The friendly and helpful staff helped us pick out the perfect frame and explained all of the different lenses and coating options covered by our insurance. The glasses arrived five days later and our son is able to see clearly and actually loves his glasses.

I had a awesome experience!! Dr. Patel was so amazing and caring and so considerate of my needs I would recommend Dr. Patel to everyone. Oct,2019- I went to Visionworks, (my 1st time). After I got my glasses I had the worst headaches, So got them re-done. They still werent done correctly & still gave me headaches. I went & had my eyes re- examined. My Eye Doctor told me that something in the material that they use affected my prescription. So I called & asked for my money back (cause I CANT wear the glasses). Visionworks said NO!! ( its been back & forth for 5 months). I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!!! I havent heard anything since I lodged a complaint.!!!!!

Scheduled an appointment for last week filled out the email and confirmed it arrived on time and was told my appointment was canceled and given to someone else I was told it was canceled due to insurance even though the women who helped me checked to see and it said my insurance was good to go so she’s not sure why it was canceled I had to miss work just to make it to the appointment and the office is a 30 minute drive from my house I was never emailed or called about my appointment being canceled and was told there’s nothing they could do about it so I rescheduled and received a call a few hours before my appointment to go over safety protocols and was told I would have to pay to have a certain exam to protect the doctor from having to get close and that my insurance doesn’t pay for that this is the first time I’m being told this just hours before my appointment and was not even warned of this when I scheduled the first appointment.

The doctor was really nice so was the person who helped me pick out my frames. Wonderful atmosphere. Cant wait to go get my glasses.

My daughter had an exam for the first time at Visionworks. Dr. Patel is super friendly and spent all of the time needed during the exam and throughly answered all of our questions! We then worked with Kimberly. She was very knowledgeable and helped us find just the perfect frame and lenses that were within our budget. There was no wait time for the doctor and he was running right on time! We were in and out within one hour and the best part is our glasses arrived in just three days instead of the 14 days we were promised !! AMAZING PRODUCTS, SERVICE AND VALUE!

The girls in this location have excellent customer service. They always busy but they try to help you as soon as they can. Kimberly was really helpful she run my insurance before my appointment and was Able to answer all my questions

Was overdue for an eye exam and I was able to quickly schedule an appointment online. Dr. Patel did a great job with the exam and took extra time to make sure my new contacts fit properly. The rest of the staff were very helpful (had all my insurance info pulled ahead of time) and made the ordering process quick and easy.

Visionworks of Cherryvalle has an excellent selection of frames for an amazing value. This is my go-to brand for grab-n-go frames.Shelley, always provides top-of-the-line customer service! Recently, I walked in to the store to service a frame that was bent out of shape. She fixed my glasses and had me on my way in minutes.It’s always a great experience here.

First time ever needing glasses. The exam by Dr. Patel was awesome super patient with me as I squinted to try and see through the many different lenses. Then went to choose frames after the exam and the staff was super helpful and helped me get what I needed. 10/10 would recommend.

I went in without an appointment because I already had an exam and had a copy of my prescription. I waited about an hr before I was able to sit with someone, which is why its not a 5 star review. However, Shelley was very helpful, knowledgeable and was able to complete the checkout process in a timely manner. The price/selection of frames was one of the best Ive come across from a non-online vendor. The lense upgrade options were comprehensive and well priced also, which is typically where most of the expenses come in after insurance coverages.

My visit there was great! I was helped by Shelley and she helped us out by getting us the beat deal that fits with our insurance plan. Also got an appointment in and doctor Patel is very nice and clear at explaining what is going on. I cant wait for my glasses to arrive!

We went to see Dr. Patel for a second opinion in regard to possible blood in the back of the eye. Not only did we find out it was no where near as bad as we thought. He didn’t pressure us into getting glasses... in fact he brought up that they weren’t completely necessary since vision loss was minimal. This is a wonderful place and we will definitely be back!

The glasses we bought only last 1 year and 6 months? Ummmm? They should last longer than that.

I went in for glasses and an eye exam. Dr Patel is a really nice doctor and Shelley helped me pick out some cool ray ban glasses, they have a lot of frames there. Everyone that works there was nice and helpful.

My exam was done by Dr. Patel and I received more information from him about my vision than most doctors Ive seen before. Shelley helped me pick out an awesome pair of glasses and Tera helped me pick out lenses that would best suit my vision. My glasses were ready for pickup in 6 days, and that is with a high prescription. I am extremely satisfied with my new glasses, and the service I received.

The customer service is poor. They took my money and insurance and failed to leave out many details about my order! What should have taken a couple of weeks has in fact turned into a month and a half of waiting. I will never go to these people again!!! Just awful!!!

There are pros and cons to this place. The company itself has a great selection of frames and prices. However, when it comes to the actual lenses, they will add on the top upgraded package without asking you or even telling you that theres different (LESS EXPENSIVE) options available. BECAUSE OF THIS, I dont recommend them. Ive been wearing glasses for 28 years and have had all manner of upgrades and treatments and I can tell you that their HIGHEST cost upgrade package is no better than any other. If this is the only place you can go w/your vision insurance- make it clear that you only want the lenses that are covered at 100% or your insurance copay amount and dont allow them to conveniently avoid telling you that you HAVE that option. Very annoyed with my experience- even while happy w/my frame choice.
