Great place to shop. Friendly, helpful staff, and a great place to park my camper overnight. Welcome to Vermont!
Ordered a fridge through online, and this store coordinated delivery. Talk about a terrible experience. At first, the truck they brought couldnt make it up the driveway, okay, no big deal. They reschedule with the store for 2 weeks later on a Saturday. Saturday comes, nothing, no fridge, no call, nothing. After calling in, apparently the fridge was delivered to the store, and their delivery teams dont work weekends, so Monday at 8, theyll call to schedule delivery. Monday comes, no call. At 11 am, I called, after a few minutes of being shuffled between people, the person on the line says theyre going to speak to a manager, and will call me back with the planned delivery time. An hour passes, nothing. 1230pm, I call again, get connected to a manager, who says the person who is coordinating this is out to lunch, so hell find out and call me back. Okay. 1pm, finally a call from the person who was supposed to call at 8 am, who says theyll be here in an hour. The delivery team finally arrives. Fridge is dented. I accept delivery on condition they replace the drawer. Then they help me move it in, and dont help me get it connected, which I payed for expert installation! Not a whole lot of expertise happening. Then they go to leave, without taking the old fridge, which I had also paid for, and they had no idea. They had to call in before they would take it. This whole experience has been shockingly unprofessional, and frankly disappointing, as we got a fridge with dents after we payed thousands of dollars for a new appliance. I will note that the delivery team was courteous, if a little out of their depth.
I’m sure there are things this Home Depot is great for — but here are a few things that it really is NOT. And I’d love to help somebody else avoid the stress from them. First off, don’t have your keys made here. I have twice gone, worked with different employees only to have them make them backwards, on the wrong keys, mismatching sets, etc. they’re quick to refund you, which is good. But it’s a waste of time. Secondly DO NOT BUY THEIR HOUSE PLANTS. They ALWAYS have gnats and other fungus rot. This will spread to your other plants and it’s just a pain nobody should have to deal with. I’ve witnessed customers confronting employees on this as well as administration. If you’ve ever dealt with gnats, you know how difficult they are to keep from spreading. Lastly, their soils (yes the ones in bags) usually have bugs too. They don’t keep them in consistent temperatures and this leads to molds and bugs.
The gentleman that was working in the paint department was awesome! I didnt catch his name but he was very helpful and was working alone! Awesome experience!
Very well stock and employees always willing to help and point you in the direction to something your searching for. Pricing is also very affordable. This store rocks!
Disappointed. Road in need of maintenance, badly rutted in places & wash outs in some turns making a 1 lane road even harder for cars navigate when meeting oncoming vehicles. Only a couple of view points on way up. Visitor Center not open. Porta Potties. Parking lot was littered with trash. $26 for 1 person-1 vehicle.Mount Equinox Skyline Dr near Manchester is much better.
My hubby set up a curbside order but it wasnt ready so I decided to pull the order myself. Doug and Shane came to my rescue, helping me to find and load up everything. They were awesome! Friendly, helpful, efficient. Thanks to them! The ladies at the customer service desk were also great--honest and apologetic. I get it! Businesses all over are short staffed. Then a very nice young man helped me load the car. He too was friendly, cheerful and helpful. They may be short staffed but the staff they have is TOP NOTCH!!!
My first time there and I was in my heaven! Literally had everything I was looking for!! One stop for all my garden needs!! Looking for some house plants? They have some beautiful plants!! It youve never been... Youve gotta go!
Great place to shop you can find everything you need to build a house to clean a house to do anything around the house
Great place for all your home improvement needs and you cant beat the price.
My favorite store for my creating projects!! Decent prices and people willing to help me.
I ordered online and had an issue with a back order. No big deal. So I went to the Rutland Vermont location to cancel the back ordered items and purchase what they have in stock. It turned into a MESS. It was hard to help me because my order was online. I HATED the experience. There is a real disconnect between the online site and the in store experience.I will NEVER use homedepot.com again. This was a $3000 sale.BUT....to save the day, Suzy, who works in appliances, was a HUGE help. She made the phone calls necessary to cancel my order and then helped me select appliances that were in stock. Kudos to Suzy and huge THANK YOU!
Sales staff very helpful. Store has everything you need.
I love home Depot and service is great at times.
Went to the Garden Center. Excellent sale on mulch. Picked up some nice perennials that are doing great in my garden.
The home Depot: everything you might need, as long as you can find it on your own. Hard to track down folks to help in the store, and clear your afternoon if you need to return something at the customer support desk. They get the job done, sure, but the poor folks working there have been understaffed for too long!Having said that, when you DO find someone to help/interact with the customer support desk, they are usually very friendly and patient.I would give four stars, but a recent experience made me feel uncomfortable and concerned about the culture here. Typically, I roll into home Depot in the middle of working on a project, looking rather worse for the wear. I stopped by one day after work, hair done and in a dress and if there were less than 4 people helping me at any point I was in the store, Ill eat my shoes. So if you want help finding something, Id suggest dolling yourself up. Or you know, the company can address the inherent sexism in the staffs choices on who to help and how much to help them.
Wanted new appliances but the guy was to busy texting to wait on me
Don in appliances was a great help. Great guy!
They’re usually pretty good but we called to MAKE SURE our items were ready for pickup. We called at 9 am and they said yes, they are ready for pickup come whenever. It is now 4:50 and we are told it IS NOT ready and we need to wait 20 mins.... don’t lie and say it’s ready then??? Absolutely absurd and inconsiderateUpdate: just got it 30-45 minutes later!
Didnt have the heating pellets I have always gotten and no one to assist me in the storm door section
These guys are great on there service desk. I am not really great on the internet so l went up there to order something and they did it no problem. The only part l didn’t like was that they charged the item to my credit card and l have been billed for it and l don’t have the product. It’s on back order. I feel the item shouldn’t be charged until the item comes in. Other then that l think it’s a really good store. Especially the service desk very good people and very patient as well.
Very nice staff always friendly and helpful and you can find all you need for home improvement and renovations
Guys, it’s a Home Depot. In Rutland...It’s exactly what you’d expect. I can easily see what is in stock online with the location in store & do curbside pick up to make it even easier. If I have questions, I can look it up on Google. Stop going to a Home Depot in Rutland & expect to be treated like you’re at a five star hotel in the Bahamas lol. I’ve had a good experience every time I’ve gone. No issues
Ive had mixed experiences at the Rutland Home Depot. On the good side there is a very helpful associate in the electric department that runs around on a scooter. He is very knowledgeable. However, when picking up a fencing order placed on the web it was a nightmare. Took four hours and we had to settle for the wrong product because of various issues the store was having.Update.. went back today and everyone was friendly and helpful. Only problem was no baskets at the front entry.
Great service, spent thirty minutes helping me find exactly what I was looking for!
Microwave ordered November 18, 2020. Was told it would be in the Rutland VT store on December 26,2020. Received no call, called the first week in January, was told it was still on back order, someone would call back. No call back, so called again, “we will check into it and get back to you”. A week later, called again, told the same. No call. Called today, “ let me look into this and get right back to you.” 3 hours later, I called again..”looks like GE said they sent it, but we didn’t receive it”. Microwave is paid for in full, and I have no microwave. Now, I have to go into the store to get a refund.. worse customer service ever. Deserves zero stars, but can’t do zero.
I was able to find what I needed I could have had it delivered right to my door if I wanted to but I ended up not purchasing what I was looking for
I bought carpet with free install at the Rutland Store. BIG MISTAKE! The installers ACS - Premier Carpet Installers, seem to only start work in the late afternoons. The install takes 4-5 hours and I cant get the installers to my house before 4:00. That means they will not finish the job until 8:00 or 9:00 PM.Do yourselves a favor.....Shop elsewhere
Good selection. Easy to find what youre looking for. Friendly staff.
We have been loyal Home Depot customers since we bought our first home 3.5 years ago. That house was a fixer upper that needed everything from flooring to plumbing to electrical and all major appliances replaced. We recently relocated and have again turned to Home Depot for all of our project needs in our new home. Well I dont know what is going on at this Home Depot location, but weve had pretty rough luck on our last two big purchases in the past month. We bought a $600 Dewalt table saw from them only to get it home and realize it had either been refurbished, or used and carefully restocked, including with a used, dull blade, without any labeling or markdown on the price/box. I immediately called them and a manager offered us a $50 store credit or the option to return. Well its nearly a two-hour roundtrip drive there and back and we needed the saw that night to finish a project we were in the middle of when our old saw died on us, so we opted for the credit. The next time we were in town we stopped in for supplies and found a $520 clearance electric snow blower we decided to buy. It was a floor model, and we were told they werent going to carry that brand any more, but that the blower came with all of the original items. We applied the credit to that purchase (and bought another $700 worth of tools and supplies) only to get home and find that the batteries and charger were missing from the blower. Again, its nearly a two-hour roundtrip drive for us to this store, so turning around to address these issues once we get home is not only time consuming but expensive. We called customer service immediately and the associates did their best to find us replacement batteries. My husband drove back the next morning to pick these up, but because the brand is being phased out they only managed to find floor-model batteries from 2017 models--three years older than the model we purchased---that had clear sun bleaching and did not hold an equivalent charge to the newer model. My husband brought them home hoping we could make them work, but we ended up taking the blower and batteries back just days later (unused--its September) because we were not confident in the combination theyd given us, and I was worried that if the batteries failed then our warranty would not be honored because they did not match the blower year/model we purchased. Maybe the customer service associates were just sick of seeing our faces at this point, but the level of attitude we encountered trying to make this return seemed both abrupt and completely unwarranted. One associate in particular seemed to be suggesting that we were trying to scam over Home Depot with this return. This is after spending nearly $3,000 there in the last six weeks! She implied the original $50 credit we received (from a manager!) was some sort of backroom deal!? She said we needed to use the credit now on another purchase or lose it and said that if we returned whatever we purchased with it, we would lose the credit altogether. This is after selling us a USED saw and a blower that straight up could not even turn on because it didnt have batteries!! It took a manager and another associate to clear this up and smooth out this return, but it left both me and my husband rattled the way the one associate talked to us and furious that there was any implication that we might be trying to get one over on HD with ANY return! Weve spent more than $5k there EVERY YEAR for the past three years! The credit was originally a gesture of good faith from a manager trying to keep LOYAL customers happy. And we greatly appreciated that gesture. But we ended up spending well over that just going back and forth trying to rectify the hodgepodge items we bought there! The Rutland Home Depot is the closest to us, but after these purchase mishaps and ESPECIALLY the reception we received at customer service, were going to stick it out and drive the extra 15 minutes to the other big box hardware store to pick up what our local suppliers dont carry.
They had what I was looking for, I was in and out quickly.
This place should be shut down. Totally incompetent employees. Never thought purchasing a microwave would be such a hassle. To think that I literally built a house with a Home Depot in North Carolina and could not get a microwave installed by the same company in Vermont is mind boggling.
Everyone is friendly and helpful
Great place to shop. Poor service
I purchased two storm doors and hardware from Home Depot and scheduled to pick it up curbside. I ordered on Tuesday and had 7 days to pick it up before it was restocked. I called four days later on Saturday to at 1215 to advise I will be picking it up shortly- at 115 I arrived to pick it up and they said they would be out with it in a few minutes. At 130 I asked an employee and he said he would send someone out. At 145 I called again to be told they can’t find my order. It was gone. In the meantime my contractor who had been waiting for the doors goes inside to get them- they said they aren’t sure where the order is- and will go get new doors- during that another employee came out with the doors- it was extremely unorganized and frustrating that even with an hours notice I waited almost another whole hour and no one knew anything. After two hours of installing the door the hardware they sold me was missing the faceplate- I drove back down again and luckily was able to take the last one. I was extremely disappointed knowing spending 800$ it was like they could care less about my order and will look to go elsewhere in the future
The staff is friendly and helpful. I even found bags of landscaping stones in the shoveled out garden area.
Smallish Home Depot but they had what I needed. On the road to Killington Ski Resort - RT 4- outside Rutland.
I try really hard to like this store but 9/10 times my experience is frustrating, a waste of time, or they dont have the products I need. Their website is so bad its unusable. I usually regret going here.
Plenty of service help. Quick, friendly checkouts
Love home depot. They have everything you can imagine and the staff is always willing to go the extra mile for customers
Always friendly and helpful
Had to ask for help but they were able to help find what we needed.
Slow as usual. The paint counter women was there when i got there took me 2 minutes to get the paint went to get out mixed she was gone waited 5 minutes still nothing. As the cashier running express lanes to call someone tho the paint counter she did the lady associate said shed be there in a few minutes. 20 minutes later came tottling over like nothing was a mid just tho spend 3 second pouring it the mixer 1 minute in the mixer and 3 seconds back to me. All that 4 25 minute wait unbelievable. Dont ever go into that store if your on a time schedule.
After spending at least an hour trying to find decent lumber that wasnt full of knots, rotted edges, dinged up corners and wasnt bowed or bent, an employee who had walked past 5 to 6 times prior stopped to ask how I was doing. When I said not good, he replied Good and walked off.I left at least $400 worth of lumber I was going to purchase and will never shop at Home Depot again. We regularly shopped at this store but will go out of our ways to avoid doing so from now on.
I would like to commend George Grimm in the design area of Rutland Home Depot. I have been working with him since September 2019 on designing a new kitchen. He has been extremely helpful, does a really good design and is wonderful to work with. The construction people, Corey and Carolyn and their crew, keep you apprised of what they are doing and are skilled at their jobs. I recommend Home Depot for design and renovation with no reservations.
Rude employee, the main reason I wont go back.
Had exactly what we wanted had to drive and hour to get the flooring we needed
Stocked well, even now, still a great place to find what you need for projects/improvements.
Friendly and helpful staff
Had what I needed nice.
Purchased a lot of things for our house from here plus bought all of our fencing we bought plus my husband buys all of his tools from there.
Just another home depot. Nothing exciting, you know what youre getting. Overpriced items compared to online, but convenient to grab what you need. No complaints on service.
Dosnt have proper driveway maintenance items, Only welfare item. Had to go to Lowes
Great big beautiful mums!! Great price too 👍😀
Wanted to thank Debbie at the a Rutland location for her wonderful help!! She is superb and should be an asset to anywhere she works!! Thank you again!!
It was terrible and they lost me as a customer. I had my dog in my vehicle with AC running, windows open and water and was called to the service desk and asked if my dog was okay. I hadnt been there 5 minutes. I get they might be concerned about animals in hot cars but my vehicle was air conditioned and had windows down. I spent alot of money at home depot. From now on I will go to tractor supply and lavalleys building supply.
Excellent section and some good deals, friendly help most of the time.
Did not seem to be following capacity counts of shoppers in store at one time. Went for three different items they were out of all of them. I will say the staff was very friendly.
Very lazy hours for a Sunday
Typical big box store with LOTS of choices. I wish I couldve gotten my Christmas tree sooner so I couldve gotten what I really wanted but thats not their fault. I ended up with a very nice tree for the price!
Electrical helper was unhelpful and a bit short. I figured out what I needed.
When you are looking around you have 10 people ask you if your looking for something, when you need something everyone disappeared
Very helpful individuals working at the paint counter. We got too much of one color - way too much- and asked if we could tint what was left over for another room and the man helping us was very helpful. Other places would have said no just to sell more paint.
Missing some materials but not their fault. Still very helpful employees
This location needs more team members on the floor mid afternoon.Wondering around the store looking for some one to answer a question, 20 min later.
Friendly people they handled my request quickly and efficiently
I have been going to home depot since I was very small with my dad. Home depot is always in an easy location and has friendly and helpful staff. The store is very very large so it has anything and everything you would need from DIY supplies to home improvement. The store colors are bright and catch peoples eye. I enjoy Home depot a lot and recommend it as a great store.
Nice selection of tools and materials at this store, but pro parking could be better. I bought a Ton of pellets and had to go walk from one end of store to the other multiple times. Was trapped in the pro parking by other customers cars for 15 mins after being loaded. I wasnt in a rush but easily could have been on my way much sooner.
Excellent service
Who doesnt love Home depot?
Whats not to love. Good prices not so knowledgeable sometimes.
I had a great experience earlier this week. I went in to the Rutland Home Depot to get some outlets and also a kitchen sink and faucet for my new project. Libby in the kitchen design department stopped what she was doing to show me all the sinks and faucets that Home Depot offers -even the ones that are not stocked-and helped me order both items which are scheduled to be delivered soon. This made it so much easier to continue dealing with the minutia of my project. Her eagerness and enthusiasm for my project keep me coming to this store. And it is amazing with all the people she deals with how she can keep the details of my project straight -but she does. I wouldn’t want to work with anyone else.
Always a good experience with this Home Depot
No workers to help you
Big home repair store. Appliances.grills.mower.
Didnt have my vitamin s
Its what you can expect from a home supply store. Not super fancy or organized but the helpful staff makes up for the lack of ease at finding what your are looking for
The Home Depot is a hardware super store. They have everything you could be looking for in regards to home improvement, building, construction DIY and many other things. This one in particular is a great one. Clean building, friendly staff, plenty of parking. Expected prices. Just your average Home Depot here.
Every time I go there I’m better off helping myself because the employees are clueless, or simply hiding in the bathroom. (True story) I would like to say there is a gentleman named josh that every time the employee for that department is mia or unknowledgeable he steps in and helps get it done and he is kind and everything I’d want as a employer. If anyone in the upper management is reading this... his name is josh he has glasses facial hair and lighting colored hair. He must be on the fire dept because he has a emergency pager. This guy is everything I look for in a employee as a employer myself. Long story short keep him around!!!!
Workers were friendly and helpful but it was hard getting around the store as they were moving product
Well organized but need better selection of LED lights.
The Home Depot in Rutland is great. The staff is super friendly and helpful and theyve always got some great deals. I especially love the gardening section.
Great place if you are looking for anything for inside or outside home improvement As well as cleaning supplies gardening supplies grills appliances etc.
Customer service is terrible. If u do find what you want the worker working doesnt know anything abot anything.
We went to a register with a real person her name was Ramsey. we bought only a few items but with a couple of larger things and she never gave me a $10 bulb that I bought. I am all the way in Proctor and have to drive to Connecticut right now so cannot stop to pick it up. Not sure why if that is your job as a cashier you would not make sure people have all of their items. I never leave reviews but was so upset by this because I know that I just lost my $10 and have to go buy another bulb somewhere else.
Helpful
The guy in flooring and carpeting was rude and seemed to be irritated to even be there.
For some reason the directions to this Home Depot are completely wrong. It is not at the 911 address given on Rt 7 South in Rutland, VT near Green Mtn Plaza. It is in fact clearly marked on the google map on Rt 4 going east. Somebody needs to correct the address listing so the program will generate the right directions.
Customer service was on point
Stopped in to get wire loom since they were the only ones in the area that carried decent selection on a sunday. The employees were very helpful in finding it, and was in and out of there in 10 mins. The staff is really friendly and thats helpful.
It has everything you need. It a home depot. For your DIY needs home depot is the place.
Home depot is great
Love home depot
Good
Vermonts quality super center for all home improvements . Extremely helpful and kind customer service. Good pricing.
Good
Very deceptive pricing on decorative wood molding.sign read 1.98 ea. No clear mention that it means linear foot.i was horrified at the register.i rightfully Should have been charged what the sign said,by Vermont state law.i declined the purchase.also i was charged full, price on behr paint that was clearly signed $24.99.no appologies or any attempt to correct it,by clearly the rudest cashier you folks have.I will be contacting corporate about these issues.
I contacted this store regarding pellets. I was told they had three brands of pellets... one of which caught my interest. I asked about getting a ton of that brand of pellet and I was told The customer has no say in which one of the three brands of pellets they get when they purchase. They get whatever we can get to the easiest.Needless to say, I will not be buying anything from them again. I dont patronize stores that tell the customer they dont have a say in what they are buying when they buy a product like this, If they have three different products in stock. When I go shopping for cereal, I dont expect the clerk to hand me a random box of cereal and tell me I dont have a say in what I get... this is no different. The manager should be fired.
