Last week I had the best experience with Brent and Rich. I am a Pennsylvania resident driving through Vermont on a trip to Maine. I thought I was having some brake or radiator issues as I smelled something burning. A local resident recommended Midas in Rutland. I contacted them first thing on Monday morning, Brent said to bring it in at 2:00. By 3:30, Rich, the Manager called me into the garage to explain and show me the brake pads. He said they still have life in them and no need to replace them, rotors where fine, and nothing else found. I was so relieved. I was expecting to pay the diagnostic fee but Rich said no charge. Wow! That made my day. Wonderful customer service.
Great job thanks Ill see you in the next visit.
Very honest and helpful. Glad I went there. I wont be going anywhere else
I had them replace two broken studs on my right rear wheel, these had been cross threaded by another shop that remained unknown until I purchased new tires. The did repair the two broken studs but in doing so cross threaded two more. I discovered this just yesterday while swapping summer to snow tires. (I have separate wheels for the winter and summer). While removing the lug nuts from the right rear wheel two lugs were extremely difficult to remove such that I had to use a 4 breaker bar to back the lugs off. The breaker bar was needed to completely remove the lug nuts. Two existing lugs were severely damaged due to cross threading. The shop states that is normal and occurs frequently. We did not damage your lugs was their response. The car is not old enough to suffer that kind of wear, they just will not admit to their mistake. Extremely disappointed in their service and negligence. See attached photos, beyond the seat of the lug nut the remaining section of the lugs are in good shape and did NOT wear out.
We were extremely happy with the service we received here. They were friendly, honest, efficient, and communicating the entire time. I would definitely use their services again.
I was leaving Killington and my vehicle was shaking badly after I got up to speed. I thought it was a tire that was no longer balanced, or worse my wheel was about to fall off. I stopped in and talked to them, and they told me that it was most likely snow packed behind the wheel. When I went back out to my car I saw the snow packed behind the rim. They checked my lug nuts and washed out the snow and sent me on my way. Turns out that is what the problem was. Nice to deal with honest and friendly people.
My father has been going to this Midas location for over two decades and was always pleased about the service. After my father passed away i inherited his car and came in with what I thought was the sound of a low brake sensor telling me it was time for new brakes. Rich’s team took off the wheels showed me that there was at least 90 percent left on the pads. They were incredibly honest and said it could have just been a metal flake on the pad or something from the road caught in the pad but the tires back on and sent me on my way. Rich was very kind about my dad passing and had some nice words to say. Just all around a good experience and I can see why my dad liked them. They have my business for life!
A huge thank you to Brent and his staff for the excellent exhaust work done on my vehicle the last week of June. Everything needed was explained and shown to me prior to repair. All my questions were answered. An extra thank you to Brent for having my car ready the following morning. Excellent customer service!
Always friendly and helpful
So focused on providing appropriate information for the repair. Providing options to choose to what extent you would like to execute repair. Less than dealership costs.
I’m pretty particular concerning my vehicle maintenance. I moved to the area several years ago and a large concern was leaving a garage that I trusted. This place took care of those worries. Always professional, always up front about costs, always follows up and takes care of the issues that arrive. I use this place for oil changes, tires, lift installs, air suspension installs, suspension work, pretty much everything that isn’t covered by the warranties on my cars. Rich is extreme helpful and he has a staff of experienced mechanics who seem to give a damn about their work. I highly recommend these guys.
We brought our Nissan Rogue in for a state inspection and it passed with no problem. I specifically asked if the brakes were good because I thought it was starting to make a noise. I do not know much about cars so I depend on the knowledge of an honest mechanic. He assured me that the breaks were fine at 82% so I went home. Three weeks later it started making a harsh metal on metal sound so we made an appointment and brought it back. We were told we need all new brakes and new rear rotors. There is no way we wore down 82% of our brakes down to the rotors in just three weeks. This brings me to the conclusion that nobody ever looked at our brakes. This is the most unsafe inspection you can get. When we showed them the paperwork from the inspection they refused to take responsibility. We will never be back and if you are looking for a decent and honest mechanic, do not go to Midas.
I love this Midas, they always are able to tell me what anything is when my car needs repair, and in this instance they kindly welded some fixtures in to ensure that all would be well. Fast, professional, caring, and friendly service. Top notch, I highly recommend, this shop is run very well and I really could not ask for more.
Fair qoutes, great service, vehicle delivered when promised. Also, Military discount helped a bunch, thanks Midas!!!
These guys completely save me. My tire was busted I got there 10 minutes before they closed on a Saturday. The woman behind the desk got into her own car to go fetch a new tire from their supplier. What could have been a disaster was completely averted and I was out of there in 30 minutes. Best service Ive ever had anywhere in anything.
I began going to this Midas as it was close to where I worked, which is an hour commute from my house. I no longer work there, but still choose to drive to this Midas for my repairs, instead of dozens of closer garages. Why? Fast, friendly, honest, and affordable. Ive had nothing but great experiences here.
Brent is very friendly and always willing to help me with my car needs. This place is trustworthy and conveniently located off Woodstock Ave in Rutland.
Had a coupon for an oil change and tire rotation. Made an appointment for 5:30 PM. Got there 10 min early and still had to wait until after 6 PM to get my vehicle in. After I left I noticed my oil change life indicator on my GM vehicle had not been re-set which is a nuisance as its now showing Im past due for an oil change. Also I thought they would check the air pressure in my tires.....they did not and I found the pressures were way low on two of my tires. Not impressed with the experience.
Always friendly service. Honest and professional service handlers
Great service for over 20 years on both my foreign and domestic cars and trucks.. Prices are fair and friendly advice on needed repairs. Free WiFi too!
Have had multiple cars there and wouldnt even take a bike to have a tire changed there if I had to. If you want the work to be done incorrectly, get overcharged, and be insulted by the staff that work there because you call them out on their mistakes and halfassed work, this is your place.
These guys that work at this location are the best ever I take my truck to ford dealer with my engine light on they where telling me its 6 different problem when I know its not so I take my truck to this midas location in rutland Vermont Woodstock ave they change only one sensor am my problem was solve thank you guys so much
Ive had nothing but great experiences with these guys. Theyve helped me out of a lot of little self-created problems since Im one of those who likes to mod and customize my car. Theyve never tried to upsell me with unnecessary repairs. If anything, theyve told me that certain upgrade jobs were unnecessary and I could save some money. My only wish is that they were open on Sunday.
The environment is very professional and their work is top notch I go there every time I need work done
I had an exhaust leak in the flex pipe of my car. They told me they were going to cut out the old one and weld in a new one, which is the proper way of fixing it. However, they ended up just clamping it back together and it broke relatively soon thereafter, where a proper fix would have lasted 10-15 years with ease. For this I paid $180. The cost to do it correctly would have been in the $250 range. This poorly-executed repair also took between 4 and 5 hours to do. Essentially, I was waiting way too long for a job they didnt do how I was told they were going to. They charged me a great deal for the bad fix, almost as much as doing it correctly would have cost me, and it ended up failing relatively quickly. Its safe to say that I wont be going back to Midas.
Im not sure why people rate this place poorly. Ive been using this place for many years, service has always been great. Honest and fair prices too. Lets face it, an auto repair these days cost much more than years ago thanks to evolving technology. So if youre expectations are to repair your car for $20, then its time to buy a bike. Ive brought my 2013 ford Taurus SHO, 2007 GMC Yukon, 2004 Cadillac escalade, 2009 ford flex, 2006 Cadillac CTS, suburban, and many other cars. Never once was I treated poorly or over sold on products. And a BIG plus is you can bring your own parts in and theyll install it! (No warranty of course). I recently had my Yukon in before going to DC with our 5 children and luggage. They fixed a knock sensor and looked over the overall condition to make sure it was road worthy, and I only paid about $250. This was a great deal considering the GMC dealer probably would have cost twice as much and wouldnt get me in for a week. Great job midas Rutland. For all those skeptical, just try it!
Friendly service
Although they weren’t able to do the work I needed, they were very kind through the process (and didn’t charge me for a consultation).
Knowledgeable and professional staff. Thanks for the help!
Gabriel does great work
These guys are consummate professionals, friendly, great prices, and attention to detail. Dont go anywhere else, you wont be disappointed.
