I just purchased a Subaru at this location. I get confused because Kinney Motors is the same as Rutland Auto Group or Rutland Subaru??? I worked with Nick Will, an exceptionally nice guy. I met Nick about two years ago. I told him I wasnt ready to buy a car, and he didnt try to sell me one. When I returned, he remembered me. I lucked out with an excellent Subaru Legacy. I like that he was honest. He helped me find a car that met my needs. Michelle, the financial person, was also fantastic! Shes very personable and down to heart. Its a stressful experience to make a big purchase. Having someone to commit to the process made the experience pleasant. I was in a jam because I needed someone to bring my rental back to Enterprise. Despite a busy day at the dealership, Stephen L., one of the sale associates was kind enough to help. These guys are awesome!

I cant say enough great things about everyone at Kinney Motors. I was working with Bethany; however, I also had the privilege of meeting many Kinney Motors representatives. The entire process was very quick and professional. We were able to come to a deal in less than a week. As one of the main reasons for upgrading my vehicle from a 4 door sedan to an SUV was due to our every growing family, our newest addition was able to join me; Sasha, our 3 month old Great Dane. Everyone at Kinney Motors was so excited to have her present. Being pet friendly is a major win in my book. Even while we were ironing out paperwork, one of the Kinney Motors reps was able to play with Sasha or keep her at ease. Like I said, enough great things cannot be said about this dealership. I highly recommend this dealership. Greg made the financial portion a breeze and really outlined warranty information as well as trade value.P.S. As a side note, I was so excited to get into my new vehicle that I accidentally left important personal information in my previous vehicle. Nicholas Will was so amazing, I got pulled around by other dealerships for 2 weeks, they literally sold my truck twice, I even paid a deposit on. I had eyeballed this truck for a few weeks, Made the call, told him my down payment, no trade and what I could afford for a payment, 4 hours later he called and asked when did I want to pick it up. The next day and a painless process later, they helped me through everything, and I left 2 days later on a 2,000 mile trip with NO issues. Had dealings with a young man at Kinney he was exceptionally nice and went out of his way despite the fact it was a small purchase of an as is Truck, The Salesmans name is Karl Goodwin, He and as a matter of fact a lot of the Managers went out of their way to get the truck from the back of the lot, I appreciate the extra effort shown. If they did that for this small as is purchase, I believe I would want them for a new truck-they truly went the extra Mile-quite literally in my case.

I am one very happy new customer. I had been searching for months for a very specific and hard-to-find used Audi with manual transmission. My name went on a call list, and I figured that was the end of it. While away on a trip to Colorado I was called about a car just in on trade that exactly fit my needs. The friend I sent to check out the car was given every courtesy, we were able to work out pricing over the phone, complete the deposit by internet, and I got amazing financing that sealed the deal. When I went to pick up the car, my title on trade-in was damaged, requiring a drive to Montpelier to get a new one. I was helped to make sure the timing would work, everyone accommodated this glitch, and I was able to leave the dealership that day with everything signed and ready to go. If that wasnt enough, Kelly noticed an improved deal with financing and was able to shift that savings over to me, a huge chunk of money and effort that was above and beyond. The price I paid for the car was very fair, the car was immaculate. I appreciate being treated from the start as a serious and intelligent buyer, being seen promptly at the appointed time, having the features explained in a sensible way, being able to have questions answered in the service department. Everything from start to finish was positive. My thanks to Cortney for notifying me, Jim for a great sales experience, Andrew for helping pull all the pieces together for the online transactions, and Kelly totally rocked in finding great financing, and then going way beyond in finding an amazing bonus deal after making the sale.

I was in need of a reliable means of transportation. My plan was to buy a used vehicle and try and spend as little time at the dealership as possible. After a few minutes speaking with the knowledgeable salesman, I realized that this would be different than the run of the mill dealership. I was shown the used vehicle that would meet my requirements. I had plenty of excellent vehicles to choose from, but after I had seen all the used vehicles, I was asked if I had ever considered leasing a vehicle. I figured leasing would be out of my price range. I had herd about new vehicle and how they were not worth the value. Well, after an in depth conversation about my options, I soon realized that leasing would be the best option for me. simply put, it is all the car for half the price! I was able to lease a brand new Subaru Legacy and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Best choice I have made at a dealership. I will be back to get another Subaru when my current lease is up. I recently leased a vehicle (for the first time) here and am so glad I did! The salesman I worked with was so informative and really seemed to care about what I needed, not just closing a deal! As a woman, salesmen often try to pressure me into a sale quickly and without all the information. Sam Hamblin did the exact opposite! He was very patient while I test drove more than one vehicle and explained the details of each one. He made sure I was happy and comfortable with the choice I made. This establishment doesn’t even deserve a star. Be careful when purchasing a full extended warranty because they will not stand by it. Bought my 2008 Mazda Speed a little over a year ago. Car started smoking and coolant was leaking out of exhaust, so I called and the service technician I talked to told me to get it towed to a Mazda Dealership, closest one being in Keene, NH. Mazda service guys were amazing and did all the leak and compression tests needed to diagnose the engine/turbo is bad and needs to be replaced. Mazda even had an adjuster come out from Subaru’s warranty company and even they agreed with Mazda’s findings. The adjuster wanted the engine torn down but Subaru said that was going to be at the customers expense. When Mazda gave them all this information and I refused to pay for it getting torn down, they got it towed back to their dealership (Kinney) and told me there is absolutely nothing wrong with the vehicle. And came up with excuse after excuse for all of the indications it’s a bad head gasket. It’s running “rich”, “that wasn’t coolant you saw” etc. Got the car back and it’s blowing smoke like crazy still and barely wants to run. I have a 6 month old and knowing they are not willing to help accommodate for a vehicle that is covered under warranty just goes to show what kind of company they really are. They are doing anything and everything to not have to pay for the vehicle being fixed and it’s pretty evident.

I travelled over 2.5 hours to buy my 1st new car from Josh at Kinney and it was well worth it. I was able to get the car I wanted for the price I wanted to pay for it. This dealership was also very fair in considering and accepting my 1995 trade in.I found that Josh kept his word on the deal, and never sprinkled in hidden costs/fees that were of surprise at any time during the car buying process.Greg, the financial manager was also very helpful in finding the best finance rate for me. Waste of my time. Visited to test drive a few vehicles. Met a male salesman who assisted us in test driving a suv. Eventually found a car that we really wanted but the keys could not be found to test drive it. Guy stated that he would locate the lets and get back to us. He never followed up. I called him some days later because I really wanted to but this car and he said that he still cant find the keys, but that he woudyget back to us in a day or two to test drive the vehicle. Fast forward, no call from anyone at Rutland auto group and I can now see that the car is no longer listed for sale. I am not sure what went on, but instead of making a new customer, they absolutely lost one. I am quite sure that if it were a more expensive car then he would have managed to make it happen. We need to replace both of our cars, one new and one used, but it wont be from here.

I drove 2 hours to buy a used vehicle this dealership had on their lot. Communication via the website was a little challenging at first but once I got there the sales and finance staff were very friendly and helpful (I worked with Todd and Greg), they made the car buying process as painless as possible. Logistics didnt allow me to have the car checked out before I bought it but I took it to my auto shop after the fact and there were no major issues, just needs an alignment which is difficult to do on this type of car except by the OEM dealerships. Very happy with my purchase.

Last winter, while on our way home from a ski trip up north I mistakenly filled my friends brand new Diesel VW Golf up with regular fuel. We had the car towed to Kinney late on a Sunday night, left a note and booked a hotel for the night. By 11am on Monday morning the service department had us back on the road for a fraction of the cost that we expected! Any dealer could have easily taken advantage of us by exaggerating what needed to be done to remedy the problem. Thanks for making a painful experience a little easier!

I bought a certified pre-owned Forester here, and things were great, or so I thought. They never mentioned an oil-problem with the car, despite a class action suit, and when the engine went, though I had it serviced every six months, they were completely unhelpful. They talked a good game but were absolutely unwilling to do anything whatsoever to actually help, and I still owe $7000 on a car that wont run and will cost $5000 to repair, though I did everything I was asked. Avoid them!!!!!!!

The professionalism shown from start to finish during my initial inquiry into test driving an Audi (3 diff. models) and subsequent process to lease a 2018 A5 Cabriolet was very remarkable, The first online contact with Courtney and her ability to provide me with a time and date for testing. She was accomodating and someone that reached out to me. I finally after several weeks found a day to drive down. The lead Salesman (Nik) was forthright easy to talk with and had the knowledge and know how to present a car that quite frankly was phenomenal - the driving experience was like no other car i had ever driven before. The agility, the handling, the preciseness of the car was astounding. After 10 minutes of driving the car fit like a glove. I said this is the one, no other cars do I need to test. From there Kelly (finance advisor) took over with her ability to get all the formal documentation prepped and ready for signing. The facility was whiite clean, had a nice lounge for coffee and water. All the people I talked with were very upbeat and helpful like Andrew who assisted in the process. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone for they surely take it to the next level in meeting all my expectations with their friendly positive attitude. I had a wonderful experience leasing my first Subaru at Kinney Subaru in Rutland VT. This was my very first experience with both leasing and driving a Subaru, and Bethany Trout made it stress free and inviting. She took the time to walk me through all of the paperwork and more importantly all the features of my new 2015 Subaru. It would have taken me weeks to figure out all of the gadgets and electronic features, but Bethany walked me through it (even setting up my Bluetooth and phone directory). I am thrilled with the deal I was offered, the way I was treated, and most importantly the Subaru Forester I drove home!!!

What a rotten and horrible experience with this dealership. Tried to buy a truck from them, but do to the fact that I didnt make a deposit, they sold the truck I wanted before I could get down there. Due to having to drive 2 hours to get there, I couldnt make it on their schedule. But let me make it clear, Im not mad that I wasnt able to buy the truck. Im mad that I set up a time to see the truck on Saturday, but they sold the truck on Friday afternoon. And they never called me. So I drove 2 hours one way to my appointment expecting to purchase a new vehicle for myself. Only to find out they sold it the day before. Where was my salesman Steve? Probably to busy on other phone calls. But here is the real kicker, I called multiple times as I was driving own to make sure the truck was still available. Guess what? No one answered. And then Steve blamed it on me because I didnt give them a deposit. I know customer service, and this isnt it. Good luck Kinney Motors... keep doing business like this and your doors should shut within the the next year.Update from the Owners response: Let me tell you how busy your showroom is on the weekend...It isnt. You may think so, but what I saw was at least 5 sales people (and I use that term loosely because I know true sales people) texting on cell phones, chatting in offices, restocking supplies, etc. I was the only person on the lot. I think you, if you truly are the owner, need to evaluate your staff. They cant make a phone call? I dont care the stupid truck sold. I care that the sales person Steve didnt call me and let me know the truck sold. You wasted my time, you wasted my money, and above all you and your sales people blamed me for it. Learn some customer service skills and put them to good use instead of trying to spin this in your favor.

Browsing around for a second car that could serve more like a donkey then a luxury car I came across a listing that sent me to Kinney Motors. I found this 2005 Subaru Outback that from the pictures looked nice. Needles to say I grab the phone and make a quick call to what I thought that could be a reputable company that is interested in selling cars, and not something else. I was very disappointed after only a few moments on the phone with a gentleman that he offered to help in providing some additional information about the car. First he pretended that he had no idea Im talking about when I mentioned about year, make and model, and after browsing trough something, he mentioned that he has to go outside in the parking lot and gather more information. I was amazed...dont they have computers that on just a few clicks can display everything about a car on the inventory? Anyway long story short, he let me know what his direct number was and in case I wouldnt hear from him in the next 15 min I could call back and follow up.....again.....folks, its 2013, and in this competitive market you do anything you can to accommodate your customers over the phone, or in person. Was almost like he didnt want to sell the car.....Ive never seen anything like this in my life.The next day I jump in the car and along with my girlfriend we take a drive from Boston to Rutland VT (170.00 mi), more like a secret shopper, hopping to get better assistance, and try to conclude the sale. After 3 hrs in the car we get there, and the car is in a very poor condition, battery is dead, they have to jump it, and Im still interested in buying the vehicle after a quick test drive, with the only condition to have them replace the bad battery with maybe another car battery from another used car in the lot. Apparently they had quote a few used cars that eventually would end up at the auction. So again, the sales person end up being the same person that I talk to the day before after a young chap offered to assist us he was removed from the picture.I didnt ask for any special favors, the car definitely need more work in order to be put back on the road, but with the excuse of the car is being sold as is, I got the bad experience. I cant even describe how disappointed I was to have the luck to deal with the same person that I spoke over the phone. I made him an decent offer for that vehicle and he took that offer to the person in charge, or the boss.We didnt conclude the deal for the most part because of the sales person poor attitude and the lack of will to do something in order to complete a sale, basically he didnt even try to make a sale.... This wouldve been probably the easiest sale ever.The owner of this place should hire secret shoppers sometimes and test more often his staff.....simply embarrassing.

A month ago I went to Kinney motors shopping for a one year old 2017 Audi A4. They had two 2017 A4s on the lot in a color I was interested in. I was disappointed with my shopping experience, and declined to buy either of the cars. I spoke to a salesperson at least four times by phone before arriving at the dealer, over a period of a week. I arrived at the Audi dealer, to look at the used Audis, and after some confusion they advised me that the salesperson was in fact employed by the Kinney Subaru dealership, next door. She was very nice, but I did not find her to be an expert in Audis. Why would a dealer have Subaru sales people selling one year old Audis?I was keen to see the dealers service records on the A4s. The sales person spoke to the service department and advised me that the only thing the records showed was an oil change on one of the A4s. I nevertheless asked to see paper, which showed that one of the A4s had had more than $1,000 of body work on a quarter panel and the other had had more than $4,000 of body work as a result of some sort of rear end collision. Ouch. (Here and below, I apply the principle that one should not assume venality when incompetence is an adequate explanation . . . .)Next, the cars were advertised as having something a bit over 4,000 miles and 5,700 miles. I noticed, however, that the car with 4,000 miles in fact had over 8,000 miles, and so too did the car supposedly with 5,700. I was not pleased to have driven 75 miles based on inaccurate descriptions, and said so. I thought that the higher miles would justify a lower price, but the manager said absolutely not. I really was displeased about this misleading mileage issue, and it gave me a negative impression of this dealerships competence.Here is the shocker (and why I am writing this review a month later) - although the dealer changed its ad for one of the cars to report that it has 8,000 miles (well, as I recall it it was closer to 9,000), it has not changed its advertising claim that one of the cars has 5,700 miles, even though that car also has over 8,000 miles. This is a month after a customer (me) pointed out the issue and expressed unhappiness at being misled.I ruled out the A4 with the higher cost body work but expressed interest in the other. The salesperson had said to me on the phone that they would be open to an offer, implying that the fact that I was there on December 28 would put the dealer in the mood to make a deal at year end. In fact, when the manager got into the conversation, I was advised that there is little flexibility in their pricing. Oh.Ultimately, I was willing to pay $31,500 for the car, but the dealer was insistent at $32,500 (admittedly, a drop from $32,998 asking price) with a waiver of the document preparation fee. We parted with no deal, and I am glad I did.To be clear, it is perfectly OK that the dealer did not want to sell the car for less than $32,500, just as it is OK that I was not willing to pay more than $31,500. My complaints are that I got misleading information about the cars, and somewhat misleading information about the willingness of the dealer to dicker at year-end, and that the dealership has non-Audi sales people selling slightly used Audis a mere 30 yards from their Audi dealership (the used Audis were in fact on the Audi dealership lot). I was not impressed.

My experience at the Kinney Dealership in Rutland, VT. was excellent. I test drove several vehicles before choosing the Audi Allroad. It took me a very long time to decide but that was fine. Stephen Cathcart never rushed the process. I had the confidence to accept the technological challenges that a new car, today, brings, because Steve assured me that he would spend as much time as it took. He has kept that promise and that has made all the difference !

October 2010, I traded in my M-B 550CLK Cab and ordered a 2011 S5 Cab.From start to finish they were always fair with me and kept me informed where the car was in the production line. The car came in when I wanted it and was delivered with everything done as I asked.Bryan Haggerty the sales manager was great...Id buy another car from them without hesitation. Even the business manager Kelly was great and very professional. RichardOctober 2013, Since then I bought another Audi from Kinney Motors and Bryan Haggerty, a RS5 Cabriolet. Its an awesome car and Kinney Motors helped me to get one of the first ones to come into the USA. They are so easy to work with and so concerned with making the customer feel special. When other dealers kept telling me the pricing wasnt available, Bryan told me when I could expect the pricing to be published and when it was he called me and told me what it was. Im still waiting for the other dealer to let me know. Kinney Motors appreciates my business they dont expect it. My RS5 is now a year old and it is better than I could have imagined, It makes me feel like a kid again driving a muscle car like I did in the 1960s. The difference is now it has all the wonderful safety features Audi is known for and the creature comforts Ive grown to enjoy. Bryan is a gentleman and his professional crew makes buying or leasing a car very easy. My wife and I only wish we started buying cars for him and Kinney sooner.

Finding a good pre-owned within budget could be difficult and frustrating. After looking for a 2013 pre-owned A4 for couple month, I saw a listing which fits my budget at Kinney Motors. Todd contacted me Immediately after requesting an inquiry. I was concerned because the car had a high mileage, but, Todd assured that car was sold and serviced at Kinney Motors and it was in excellent condition. Since I live in New York, I couldnt drive all the way just to test drive the car. Todd personal did a walk-thru on the car and explained both interior and exterior condition and he was very honest about even the little scratches that he found on the exterior. He suggested to buy an extended warranty because I was worried about high mileage . He even went above and beyond to remove the documentation fee from the final price. Kelly called me few hours later and gave me options on extended warranty and worked with banks to get the best interest rate on my Finance which she did. We drove almost 5 hrs to get to the dealer, we met Todd and Kelly as expected they were very pleasant and welcoming. Did a test drive and car felt great, Todd went and spoke to his manager and deducted another few hundred dollars due to the scratches on the front. Kelly had all my paper works ready and went over again my options on extended warranty and we got a 4yr/48k warranty with still under my budget and a peace of mind. There were no pressure to buy the car, no hidden fees or any other charges (Almost all other dealers that I spoke with have other fees and additional charges). Just over an hour at the dealership we drove the car back to New York. It was a great buying experience, I wouldn’t mind driving 10 hrs to buy another car in future. Thanks to Todd & Kelly. You guys are awesome !!

I have bought/leased 3 Subarus through Kinney Motors in Rutland. I just recently leased my second Forester through them. I cant say enough good things about how I was treated by my sales rep (Josh Eugair) and the sales manager (Paul Walsh). They helped get me out of my lease early on my 2013 Forester and into a new 2015 Forester with a better package. They also lowered my monthly payment! I will most likely be going back there for another lease when I am done with this one. Thank you!!!!

It was horrible brought the car in for a multiple cylinder misfire before hand brought it to a local garage they changed the plugs and it continued to misfire. So these guys are a vw dealer so we thought that they could handle some diagnosis work they say two coils are bad and couldnt tell my why they were bed or the specs. of the primary or secondary circuits in the coil. So they say it needs all four coils.... well if any vehicle needs all coils it would never drive to the dealer. Well we go out to leave after paying 350 dollars and the engine engine light is still on.. so then they say it need injectors OK great. What about the coils that were not needed... Leslie said that the cc sports are junk and we had to eat the coils even though it was their mistake. Well we move to a fuel filling problem they replace the filler neck and the problem is the same... Two problems and four different diagnosis. These guys threw the part dart did absolutely no diagnosis work... being a very good diagnostic technician myself I was infuriated that they make business by tossing parts at it rather than testing the parts there is simple test to test every part on a vehicle and they didnt test anything what so ever. So the service manager gets on the phone and tells me he knows nothing about cars and isnt familiar with any tests and pretty much told me that we had to pay for what they did and the problems werent fixed 1400 dollars gone just to get the car back I would never buy a vehicle and definitely never have it serviced by these clowns. So I ask the service manager how Google reports affect their business and he says he doesnt know or care what goes on online... so I tried to put my anger in prospective for him and tell him okay your wife has a porshe and he brings it to the dealer for a problem and they cant tell you whats wrong with it but just change parts and they get a bill for 7 or 8 grand and still have the Sam problem how would you feel not great right he says well you have to pay to get it back what a joke. My best advise is to stay far far away from these guys I asked for the test results of their diagnosis work and they told me it was going to cost more for diagnosis because its additional well I think that that is part of their job to diag the problem then correct it not try to correct it before diag.

We traveled 3.5 hours honeslty for nothing. They talked the deal up to both to me and my business partner. They offered a much higher amount for both trades over the phone but once there we were offered a much smaller amount therefore misleading us and wasting our time. Dont let the reviews fool you, if your trade isnt showroom condition. Also plan to bring cash or they will not finance you.

We had been looking for a small SUV for a few months. We were thinking wed look for a used one, but we really wanted a VW Tiguan--despite our reluctance given the recent upheaval at VW. However, the ones that met our criteria were over two hours away. After talking to Sam at Kinney we decided to visit, though we werent optimistic given our financial constraints. We brought our Christmas guests--my brother-in-law and sister-in-law--and we proceeded to have a great time--at a car dealership! Sam was so patient--we drove 4 cars, and his knowledge and quiet sense of humor never failed. Although we drove other cars, we decided we still wanted the Tiguan and Sam and the dealership made it possible. It was a friendly and mutually beneficial agreement. It felt like wed made friends. Everyone was helpful, considerate, and professional. We walked away happy. And, we love our new Tiguan!

I have been looking for a specific car (VW Beetle) for a while, before purchasing it from Kinney Motors. I drove there after seeing a car advertised that was a great deal (full optional, satnav, moonroof and whatnot) unfortunately when I arrived at the dealership I realised that the advertised car did not match the description (no satnav, no moonroof). I told them about it and they went through the ad with me, finding the mismatch.I am not gonna lie, I wasnt pleased, since I rented a car to test drive their car, and I also told them, apologies were made and (something that I have MUCH APPRECIATED and consider it very honest from them) they acknowledged the error and fixed it (a couple of days later the ads were fixed and actual pictures were provided).Anyway, I checked the car anyway and tested it, the car was absolutely spotless and very well maintained, I did my homework and knew what to look for (window motors that go crazy in the beetle and another few bits) and everything was in order. The only drawback was the mismatched advertisement, for that price, if the car was the one in the ad, I would have bought it on the spot.Anyway, I loved the car and kept it in mind, while I browsed the market for another one in the same price range. I visited other dealerships, which had similar cars for similar prices, none of which matched the mileage (low) and overall conditions of the car I tested at Kinney Motors. One was 500$ cheaper, but had bad ball joints, 5 times the mileage and the window motor problem was never addressed.So, by comparison, the car I saw was the best deal in at least 3 states (yes, I have been browsing properly), and I ended up purchasing it.I however have a couple of comments for the guys at Kinney: please make sure that the history of the car shows properly on Carfax (the oil change was not notified, although it was done, and the recall for the window motors was not there either, although you have track of it and Linda reported to me that it was sorted). The car is perfect, but its history is not on paper, so it can be argued, and I write this from a buyer and a future seller point of view.The whole process of sale was smooth and without any problems, I had many (and I mean MANY) questions that were promptly answered, everything was explained and I was guided easily through the process. The sale was so good that I was chuckling and cracking jokes when I signed the biggest cheque of my life, it hurt just a bit.Anyway, long story short, there is room for improvement (mess with the ads, car history could be handled better), but I have appreciated the honesty very much (realising there has been a problem and fixing it right away), and after having visited other dealerships for the same car, in the same price range, I have to say that at the end of the day I had the best deal I could find, thats why the 5 stars.
