I hired them to help me starting November 6 and just finished obtaining a refund in mid-February. I do not typically write reviews, but in this case I feel it is essential. They tried to repair a control panel on our oven without success and then sent it off for repair. When the part came back after a couple of months they came and installed it (and said they had ordered the incorrect gasket for the door). Then they left telling me that the oven was working. It was not working at all. When I called them about it they admitted that it could not be repaired or replaced. Throughout this lengthy timeframe between the four or so visits to our house, I didnt receive any updates about what was going on. I had to initiate the phone calls and toward the end, even after I was promised a refund was in the mail (minus the service call fee), I had to call and let them know that I had not received a check. My experience was unfortunately a total breakdown in communication and professionalism and I would suggest you go elsewhere to get your appliances repaired.
I need a new fridge so I Called these folks to ask what brands might be more reliable than others. The rude receptionist informed me that We are a repair company and dont give free advice. So I guess I know who I wont be calling to fix my stuff down the road.
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DID THEIR BEST TO HELP AFTER I WAS ADVISED TO COME OVER WITH MY NON WORKING PART UNTIL THE OWNER SHOWED UP. WHEN I CAME IN THE STORE NO ONE WAS WEARING A FACE MASK AND DID NOT WHILE I WAS THERE AND I DID NOT EITHER. AS SOON AS THE OWNER CAME IN IT WAS WHERE IS YOUR MASK? GET THE F**K OUT OF MY STORE. ALL THE WHILE HE WAS TRYING TO GET ENOUGH AIR THRU HIS FILTHY FACE COVER AND IT WAS SUCKING INTO HIS MOUTH. PITIFUL. I ASKED HIM IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS? AND I GUESS IT WAS. SO I LEFT EMPTY HANDED. NO BUSINESS FOR THEM AND ADD A BAD REVIEW. WOW! BY THE WAY I LOVE BREATHING FRESH AIR ALWAYS HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL.
Purchased a quality used Dryer. They delivered, installed, and took the old one as well as made sure the correct electrical cord was attached. I appreciated their product knowledge and friendliness in store and at delivery. 90 day warranty for used appliance is a plus!
Did not want to come out and fix it they just told me it wasnt worth it
More than just an appliance repair shop, this place also sells cute little knick knacks. As well as antiques.
Washer was brought in to salem appliance repair picked it up, brought it home, hooked up not working same issue .When I called to let them know the issue they were very unprofessional and sarcastic and wanted to charge me to come back out and look at it? My opinion is FIND ANOTHER APPLIANCE REPAIR!
After calling on Monday and giving all the details of the problem with our dishwasher including model and serial numbers we were given an appointment for Wednesday from 12 - 2 PM. We arranged our day to accommodate and no one showed, no one called. I called back on Thursday and was told by another person we were not on the calendar, but he would look into it and get back to me. No call ever came. I now have an appointment with another business and will not call this business again.
The crew that installed our oven was extremely professional and skilled. They ensured that they did not damage any walls or floors. I will definitely used this company again!
Gary was great in helping me repairing my mini fridge that I poked a hole in defrosting it.
Cant even return a phone call
I would give more stars if I could. Salem Appliance Repair gave me a Thanksgiving miracle yesterday . I always make the whole Thanksgiving dinner for my husband of 30 years. All of our family is from Texas to Florida. Thanksgiving Eve at 4:00pm my oven element caught on fire and broke. My Tturkey was in a brine soaking in the fridge for today. My husband jumped in his truck to go look for a replacement element. He called me from Lowes and said this may not happen because of the age of our oven. He was heading to another place when I got on my PC and found 3 Appliance stores. Called the first one and their message said they closed early for the holiday. Then I called Salem Appliance Repair at 4:45pm. The sweet woman that answered said they may have the element but our oven was over 20 years, she said she would check. She came back and said the think they had wat we needed but would need to see the old element. I called my husbands cell and told him to head to the store. He said the traffic was horrible and he would get there as soon as he could, he was in South Salem and the store is on River Rd North. I called the store back to tell the my husband was on the way but it might take a while. She said they would wait. My husband got their at 5:45 and they had waited for him. Turns out it was the correct element and Thanksgiving happened just as planned. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you so much Salem Appliance Repair, you saved our Thanksgiving and we think this was a Thanksgiving miracle.
Great experience with Tina scheduling my repairs. And perfect service from the technician (Jesus). Salem appliance rocks!
Before I even writing this I know I am going to get a response from the owner denying everything/making up stuff about what happened and calling me a hater, but I dont care because I know what I am saying is the truth so I am going to go ahead and write it anyway. DO NOT go to this place ever! They are extremely dishonest and sell crappy dryers. I wont go into tons of detail over what happened because it would take forever, but all in all we threw away almost $600 in dryer repairs and dryers and they kept giving us crappy dryers. They tried blaming it on our apartment complex but we have had our venting and everything checked thoroughly and there are no issues. We tried asking for at least some of our money back on the current piece of crap dryer they sold us but they refused to work with us. It makes me sick to think that we threw away that much money. I never ever leave bad reviews but I couldnt help it with this one because my experience was so bad. There are other great dryer places in Salem like Capitol Appliance Repair that I would highly recommend. They literally saved us after everything we went through with Salem Appliance Repair. One last thing be sure to ask around before you go with a place because since my experience I have talked to many people/companies that have all confirmed that this is not a good place to buy dryers/have them fixed.
They fixed my dryer and were at my house for 30 minutes. Charge was close to $250 for 20 minutes of labor and along with the part that they changed which they charged me $68 for the part and everywhere online the same part cost $30.00. Up charging me 100% on a part? These guys are a huge rip off. Owner responded to my review at least which is nice. Maybe the $95 in labor and $85 trip charge from River Road is fair but the 100%+ up-charge on a part that is WELL known in the industry to fail is a bunch of BS. Any moron can go on the internet and see what an Idler pulley is and see that they were ripped off at $68 for that part. Should have just bought a new dryer for the price of this service. BTW owner says they quoted me a price? That was AFTER they were already fixing the dryer. If I said no I don;t accept the charges do you think they would just leave without charging me after already starting the work? Dont think so. It is what it is. I paid $68 for a part that I found online for under $20.00/
Very knowledgeable and professional. I have had them come out for multiple appliances over he years and have had nothing but the best service. Will recommend to anyone who needs a appliance repair.
If I could give a negative star I would! I called to get a part, the person who answered the phone was extremely short, terse, and disrespectful. I just cant believe their still in business with such an unhelpful and rude disposition.
This company came out immediately and fixed my issue with my washing machine and even checked out my dryer for FREE! I recommend this to anyone in Salem or Keizer! They Rock!!
I have had the best service from Salem appliance. I always call them when something gos wrong at my place of business and they have always done thing right and gets me back up and running! I will recommend Salem appliances to anyone.
Didnt show for apt today and I was told the owner was going to come out this time because the first guy who came out to fix my ice maker couldnt do it after changing over $400 in parts in a brand new freezer. They said theyd have to charge me again, thats fine, but just didnt show.Theyre repair person is rude and theyre flaky. AVOID!
Very good service and would use them again.
The advertisement is deceiving, pretty much an antique store. Dont go there looking for parts, it aint happening.
Today I called to get service for my dryer. The man told me to do a few things before he sent someone out. To save me money. Who does that? A good person does! We checked our dryer and did have a huge lint ball in the back. Havent tried it out but do think that had to be the problem. If not he gave me some more tips to try. If they dont work I will be calling to use his service.
Called to ask the cost of coming to my home to diagnose my dishwasher problem. After explaining the problem over the phone (and looking up the model # and the cost of the needed parts), he gave me an honest - It sounds like it might be cheaper to buy a new washer. Thats exactly what I thought and he saved me a $75 service call from Sears to find that out. Thank you to Salem Appliance Repair!
What helpful folks. We are RVers and are alway worried when we must call on a company that we know nothing about. Salem Appliance Repair responded the next day found the pump bad in our washer, ordered a new pump overnight, and installed it the next day. The technician Jesus was neat, polite and efficient. I would highly recommend Salem Appliance Repair.
So I called this place with my model # and issue before I went down there. The lady on the phone said it was most likely the Thermastat and fuse. She told me to bring it in and they can match it up. I pulled the whole heating element out and took it down. I gave her my model number and everything. After pulling the parts up on her computer she gave me a kit and told me that is what I needed. It was a whirlpool part and I told her I had a Samsung. She said they are interchangeable and it will work, even though it didnt look or fit like the original fuse. After putting it back together, it still didnt work and it ended up being a bad breaker switch. After replacing the breaker switch, the dryer worked fine... for about 5 minutes. Then the whirlpool fuse that they lady sold me blew. Luckily I had the original one (since that wasnt the issue to begin with) and I ended up swapping it out. Dryer works great now and I didnt need the fuse/thermostat replaced. I called and told them that I was sold the wrong part and she basically said oh well, you bought it and we cant return it because we cant sell it. Well duh, but you should at least have good enough customer service to correct your mistake, instead you pass the blame off to your customers. No apologies for selling me the wrong part and nothing to compensate me for your incompetency. I will never go back to this place and I will recommend everyone to stay away. They treat customers like trashResponding to owner-I dont know where you got your business ethics from but every other place in town would refund a customer if they got sold the wrong part. That was your mistake, not mine. Either you need to update your computer system that references a Whirlpool part for a Samsung dryer or you need to go back on your statement saying that you are there to help your customers. I go to a repair shop to be helped out because you guys are supposed to be the professionals and know what you are talking about but you dont have to worry about it because I wont be back. I am not knocking the lady that helped me. She tried her best with the system that the owner provided her and she was nice enough, however she didnt point out your no refund policy and I didnt think to ask. But the lady that I talked to today needs a lesson on people skills. Maybe instead of a big ol sign that says NO REFUNDS put a sign up that says We will try to help you out as best we can but we may or may not know what we are talking about, Purchase at your own risk!
Terrible customer service. The tech was nice enough, however the lady on the phone was rude and unprofessional. I was informed that if I got her in trouble that I would have my a$$ reamed. Made the mistake of hiring them once before only 2 years ago. Turns out the part they replaced failed. They told me their part was defective and they want to charge me $500 this time to fix it?! Skip this company! There are plenty other local businesses that want your business.
Helpful and friendly staff as well as dedicated repair technicians to get the job done right!
Avoid. I called to schedule a tech to look at a dryer that was not working. They gave me a date that was a week out. I told them to schedule the appointment but I will try getting someone else sooner. I asked them to have the tech call me before he goes out. The tech went out without calling and they charged me a $75 service call charge. Also, their tech quoted $241 to fix the blower motor. I had it fixed by United Repair Company for $167. They just wanted to be paid, thats all.
They sent a guy to fix my washer because the spin cycle wasnt working. He came out and replaced the clutch, but it caused an even worse problem--now the rinse cycle sometimes doesnt stop ! So the water just runs and runs (huuuuge waste of water)! Well we set up not 1, but 2 appointments for these guys to come back out and fix their mistake, taken time off work to do so. Each time, the guy canceled and didnt show up. Update: After posting this review they sent a guy back out to look at the washer. He wasnt able to get it to do the running thing, so hes not sure whats wrong. but he did say I could film it next time it happens and hell come back out. So Im updating my review a bit until further notice.
Thanks for the help I went in for a dryer belt and did not have all the info I needed but thanks for looking up the belt I needed and getting me the right size thanks again
Friendly, great service.
One star for the lack of professionalism the owner shows towards unhappy customers.
