My car had needed 3 jumps in the same week, and I couldnt figure out why it kept dying. I saw the good reviews for this shop, and gave them a call. I was told to bring my car in an hour and they would look at the battery. They were able to take a look right away- a quick check on the battery and the alternator didnt reveal any problems. Then they realized the back light was switched permanently to on which was draining my battery when it was parked. I have only been driving during the day, so I never noticed the back light was on. The problem was solved, and they didnt even charge me for the visit. Ill plan on bringing my car here the next time it needs work.

Good family run garage with honest and hard working mechanics. My dad and I always take our cars here for big jobs. They never try to rip you off or sell you on anything you dont need and they are very fair with their prices on both parts and labor.

Its not easy to find a repair shop that is honest and fair... This shop gave me a price of 260. To replace my starter . I told him to do it and he said go next door to get the part... He replaced it for 60..labor...140 less than another shop and 260 less than pep boys... Not only did I think his price was fair, he dropped his labor by 100 when he realized how easy it was. I value honesty and would highly recommend canal auto shop...

Awesome repair shop. A year and a half ago I was traveling from Maine and needed a repair as one of my front bearings let go. These guys got me right in that Saturday and back on the road in a few hours. Unfortunately the replacement part went bad a few days ago but thanks to these wonderful guys they got me a warranty replacement and I am back on the road again!! I would do business with this shop anytime.

So glad I found this place (recommended to me by AutoZone next door). Jeff (one of the owners) is precise, fast and super reasonable. Its across the street from a Bagel World and a Dunkin Donuts so customers might be able to pass time there while waiting for smaller jobs to get done.

I came here because it was near by. They were incredibly fast, kind and soooooo much cheaper than getting new tire at dealership service. Never going back to get service at the dealership (Ira!!!!).

Im a student at SSU, and Ive had several problems with my car over the years while Im here. Two punctured tires and I locked my keys in the car today, all on the college campus. Every time, Ive gone to this shop and received impeccable service. Everyone there is friendly and accommodating, and they always solve my problem very quickly so wait times are quite short, both for them to begin and for them to finish. Particularly as a student, and with their accessible location, this shop is my go-to whenever any of my friends or I have car troubles.

When my family and I fell on hard times, this auto shop waived some of the fees and at one point, charged nothing for their work!! We are moving to Derry, NH shortly and will drive our vehicles to Salem. Canal Auto Shop rocks !!!

These guys have awful customer service and they dont care about safety. Last year I asked them to help get my car ready for inspection and a guy returned the car to me saying he just turned off the airbag light instead of fixing it because he didnt know how to fix the airbag. More recently (I went back because its close and now I feel like a fool) they told me theyd have a part for me in two days...it was more like two weeks. Today is the day I planned to have my car inspected and Ive spent it playing phone tag with these goofballs all morning only for them to finally admit they still didnt have the part. Dont waste your time.
