They always do a great job. They had found mistakes another shop had made and made the appropriate repairs but not without advising me first. I recommend them to everyone I tell .

I had Salem Transmission replace a transmission in my 2004 Power stroke several years ago. I drove it very little, and when I needed it full time, it failed. The warranty had expired which was through Ford. Rick found a way to get me in, discovered why it failed, and repaired it for an extremely fair price. I wont say any good things about Ford, and will switch brands, but I cannot say enough good things about Salem Transmission.

Rick and his team were professional, from start to finish. I went in for a quote, and happened to talk with Rick himself. He fully explained the service, and informed me of any possible issues that could arise. And better yet, he explained it in a way I could understand. He then quoted me a price and let me know when I could come in. I did my homework, and found that Salem Transmission was the best choice. When I scheduled my appointment I spoke with Dan, who was kind and informative on the phone. When I came in for the appointment at 8:30, the team was ready to go. I walked to Black Sheep Cafe (Another favorite of mine) and had breakfast. By the time I walked back, my service was complete. And by service, I mean Transmission and converter flush. Dropping the Transmission to change the filter. The whole nine yards. I cant say enough about how pleased I am with there service. So if you need Tansmission work, you know where to go.

Took my 99 Durango in expecting major issues. Turned out to be a TV adjustment, and now shifts perfectly. Rick was very professional and hones . The staff was great. Wont take my cars anywhere else for transmission issues.

Get a WRITTEN QUOTE!!! I called Rick for a quote for a transmission oil change and filter on my motorhome with a Sprinter 3500 drivetrain. Rick gave me a quote for around $350 to $400...I agreed and brought it in.... Upon picking my vehicle up I was told that I owed $660.00!!!!! Nowhere near the quote... Rick said the transmission was pretty standard and they are familiar with it. So how did we get from around $400 to $660.00???? Lots of reasons but none that makes any sense to me. If they are familiar with the model and have done them before???? and why did I not get a call before the work started to tell me it was going to be quite a bit more money to service my transmission???I suggest you get a written quote from these guys...they up-charged me without any warning and blind sided me with the bill.

Honest, quality work done right!!

For four years I suffered with a stiff, slipping, and stuttering clutch. Two other repair shops repaired the clutch and made matters worse. I explained the situation to Rick at the front desk of Salem Transmission. He proposed possible causes and solutions and sounded very knowledgeable and experienced. They fixed my clutch, repaired it completely, put an end to my multi-years of grief and today my clutch feels and works like it did when the truck was brand new 18 years ago. Best dollars spent on my vehicle. I cannot recommend highly enough Salem Transmission. I drove from Coos Bay to get this work done. Smartest thing Ive done in a long while.

I love these guys! Lots of shops will take the easy way out -- pull an expensive assembly out and replace it. Salem Transmission will dig to find the real cause of the problem and fix it rather than run up your bill for parts you dont need. Theyve saved me a bundle over the years.
