Family Dollar is NOT a dollar store (the two-word description provided by Google is wrong). The Family Dollar chain is pretty much a mini Walmart for places that cant fit a real Walmart or have too small a population for a real Walmart. This chain and Dollar General have found a niche. That being said this Salem branch is meh. It attracts the dregs of a pretty dreggy town. English is not the primary language of the staff. But its a cheap place to get basics thats closer than the nearest Walmart.

I dont hate it. Its just a disappointment because there is absolutely no organization to any of the sections or Isles. I spoke to the manager before Christmas and he said everything would be organized but obviously as of today things have gotten even worse. I just wish I could get it cleaned up and organized

Cheap prices and an organized store IS one thing, however mediocre customer service is another. The employees barely speak English, which isnt neccesarily a bad thing, but they were little help to pointing me out where certain items were because of it. 3 out of 5 at best.

Clean and well-organized, only disappointment is some of the prices (which are the same as at grocery stores for things like toilet paper, for example).

Close to where I live. Walking distance. But they will not let you use the restrooms as they are for the employees only. Believe it or not, that is another aspect of customer service that they lack. I had to go across the street to a restaurant in the middle of construction just to use the rest room. I only buy a few items from them.

This place is really cleaned up from a couple years ago. Lots of groceries here and stuff now. Very cheap and convenient. I get all my trash bags, TP, paper towels, etc. here. It is kind of almost like a mini walmart. I like the staff, friendly and nice to my daughter always. Like their toy selection too.

Great place for stocking stuffers. Not a dollar store where everything is a dollar, but similar.

The store is always a mess boxes everywhere!!! The shelves are never stocked.When you ask for help like do you carry certain items the staff replies with I dont know. Ridiculous!!! Im a faithful dollar store shopper but I have recently taken my business to either the Beverly or Lynn Store.

Unorganized but with a good variety of products, would be useful for quick shoping

ATTENTION TRUCK DRIVERS: Use RIGHT SIDE of building for access to rear of building for deliveries... you will need to drop your trailer before unloading so your tractor isnt blocking HONEY DEW drive thru.

Most stuff there is priced accordingly, however, you are on your own literally and figuratively.

A very practical place if you want varied and low-budget things. Sometimes there is quite a variety of edibles (snacks or frozen as well). Household items are also comfortable.
