They were busy when we got there at 8:45. Told us 30 minutes but got us at a table outside in 5 minutes. Staff was very friendly, very happy and joined the whole time. Portion sizes where larger than we needed. The waffle was the best wake Ive had in a long time and I owed through it even though I was full from our regular breakfast. Their mugs are all different and very fun.
I recommend going early to get reservations. We arrived around 9:30 on Saturday and it was a 2 hour wait for brunch. Due to all the hype we were excited to wait, and the process for putting your name in is well organized. We were able to look up where we were in line. The atmosphere is really great, and the service exceptional. Where it fell a little flat for us was the food. We felt the food was average and didnβt really meet our expectations that we had seen from other reviews. One of us ordered a breakfast sandwich and only half a sandwich came out whereas I got the Eggs Benedict and it was a very large portion. To us the menu was average breakfast food. However, definitely worth going to check off the Salem bucket list.
The food was good, atmosphere perfect, clean and healthy looking diner. Let me tell you about that βThis aint no chicken and wafflesβ or something like that. IT WAS DUCK. Im one of the biggest chicken and waffles fans, even made sure I found it in LA at sweet chick, but thisβ¦pecans nice and softy crunch, that TENDER duck not fried either I mean TENDER, and that waffle was perfect, not a crazy sweet waffle, but just enough to where it balances out everything on the plate at the bottom topped off by syrup π Amazing.
I ordered egg benedict with smoked salmon. They add loads of salmon which made the whole dish very heavy and also the proportionality of salmon and egg was not right. The home fries also wasnt good, too dark and I didnt enjoy. Overall it was ok. I also ordered latte which was half milk and half coffee. i didnt enjoy that much.
Delicious Florentine Benedict! Sweet potato home fries beat out regular home fries. Great service too! Highly recommended and a good value too.
It was VERY busy on the weekend we went (the weekend before Halloween) which we should have anticipated, but it was popular for his reason. The staff were very friendly and attentive, despite the chaos. The food was very good and the apple cider was delicious!!
We stopped in after calling to make sure they had gluten free breakfast options. Well get bored with eggs and potatoes all the time so was looking for waffles. Was told yes they have them. Get up early head over no gluten free really. They do have amazing coffee we got to go as we searched for breakfast.
Delish and inviting! This place gets busy on the weekends (especially in a October!) so plan to drop your name in the queue and walk around a bit before getting a table. Try the duck confit you wonβt regret it!
AMAZING VALUE! The wait was long. But WELL WORTH IT. The food was so tasty and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly, helpful and quick. What a lovely experience!
Absolutely amazing food and espresso! I had the steak and eggs and the steak was marinated nicely with a touch of sweetness! My mimosa was a nice touch as well! Would definitely recommend for breakfast In Salem! Very knowledgeable of the area and gave great recommendations!
We stopped into the diner twice last year (2019) when we visited Salem. Its right near the middle of the main street through town and the pedestrian strip so convenient. Absolutely solid diner. Wait on the weekend day was a good 30 minutes (in October) but absolutely worth it. Solid hosts, decor was fine and representative of Salem artists but the food was great and value very good. When we visit Salem in the future we will definitely be back.
We tried 3 times to get in here. The first 2 their waitlist was full by 10 am.When we finally did get in there the food was pretty good.
You can tell everyone here loves their job! Thank you for quick and easy service! There is a lot to choose from. My husband had a breakfast burrito and I had the Fried Green Tomato Benedict. My plate was piled high with chunks of sweet potatoes. They look giant but theyβre really easy to eat. Super moist and delicious. My husband nibbled off my plate and really liked the fried green tomato! He wished he had gotten mine.Coffee is superb and they come in βuglyβ mugs. I got a Bat Mug and my husband had an oversized mug advertising a business. The Husband also had orange juice and it was so fresh! My only question is: do they take donated mugs? π€π€
AMAZING place to eat. My wife and I waited an hour and a half to get seated but the food is worth the wait, I promise. Next time I make it back to Salem, I will make returning here a priority. I highly recommend either an omelet or French toast.
Delicious food and the staff is absolutely amazing. Such a warm and welcoming environment altogether.
Sweet potato homefries were amazing!!!! Everything was really good but the sweet potatoes were the best I have ever had!!!
I used to love the pumpkin pancakes here. This year they are not great at all. Pretty disappointed. Service was good.
Loved it here! Food was delicious and staff was so nice and kind even with how busy they are. Definitely recommend!
Basic coffee shop, nothing too fancy. They used old mix match mugs! Bring your own for a discount or buy one of theirs. The front window usually has a decorative theme which is awesome!!
Breakfast experience Ive never had before. Great quick acting staff with wonderful and unique food.
Wow. The foods was so good. I had the breakfast poutine, which was huge and so good. The server talked so fast, but she was understandable. Im sure most of her customers are regulars. We ate outside on a very pleasant day so it was great. All the options were large. One daughter had the Scottish eggs, the other had the duck confit. My wife had the blueberry pancakes. My son in law had the crab cakes. All were excellent and very large portions. They came out quickly from the kitchen. Definite 5 stars - no hesitation.
Absolutely delicious! Get there ~15-20 before opening if you want to be seated without a long wait.We ate the breakfast poutine, chipotle Benedict, Elvis waffle, and pumpkin pancakes. All items were delicious. Highlights were the waffle the pancakes and the service.
I canβt believe I waited so long to eat this mediocre food . I got my order and the wife had her order incorrect. Steak on the steak and eggs had little flavor. Add that to the slow service, I would not go back .
Olivia took great care of me and my family, payed much attention to detail and provided excellent service! Food was very tasty, filling and fairly priced! Thanks for a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend egg dishes.
The food is really good, I really love the place but details in Customer Service is all for me.I did Order to go and it was no fork, napkins etc.For a place where I spend 30.00 with tip on breakfast they should to train the young workers to pay attention to details.Very nice place and the food is good so, i be back just dont forget the fork so we can eat. π€¦π½ββοΈπππ½ππ
We stopped by for a quick breakfast. The menu was great, simple and easy to modify as needed. The food was all really good, we loved sitting outside, and enjoyed seeing Salem while eating. We did have some issues though, and it may have only been because we were in a somewhat of a rush. The wait staff were very slow, my guess is that they were understaffed like everyone else because of the pandemic. It took awhile to get food. It was very hot outside and we didnt get much water at all, it took awhile to get water. It was tough to flag down our waitress to get a check. I would say come here if you have some time, especially while theyre short staffed, but consider elsewhere if youre in a rush.
Good coffee. Good menu. Food was good. I had blueberry pancakes which were awesome!
Visiting from Ohio and the staff was incredibly friendly and informative! Personally I have a dairy allergy and the server was so knowledgeable about their foods and crafted drinks and I found a delicious meal and drink! Highly recommend it for anyone!
We waited on a a Sunday for a table for about 30 minutes and it was well worth it! The place is cozy and unassuming with diner fare that impresses. I ordered the seasonal pumpkin pancakes with caramel streusel and cinnamon butter. Best thing Iβve eaten. All. Year. Long. They have a full espresso bar (no oat milk or homemade flavor syrups) but they have some unique house espresso drinks and a soda bar.
Great breakfast/brunch spot with low key atmosphere. Large selection of specialty coffee as well as home made sodas.
The Greek omelet with sweet potatoes was amazing! Our waitress, Pearl, was so personable and energetic that she made the experience even better. Thanks for an amazing meal!
Cheap local diner with a big menu. Friendly service and relatively short wait for Salem standards. Serving sizes are huge.
Very sweet and accommodating staff, as well as a great homey atmosphere. The food is delicious and their beverage selection has something for everyone! 5 stars!
This is a great local diner, with exceptional staff! The menu has many unique and delicious items! Definitely give this place a try!
The Elvis Waffle is built for too many ciders the night before. Youβre welcome. πͺπΌ
The food was very good. There were great options for different pallets. The service was quick and kind. The homemade biscuits with brown sugar butter was amazeballs!. I got the country boy breakfast with mixed sweet & white potato home fries. I liked the sweet potatoes better. Id definitely come again. With Rona, there was a definite wait but worth it but theyll send you a text when your seat is available. There are plenty of kitch shops to search while you wait.
Just go. Just do it. Go. I managed to get there at the perfect time when there was no wait, but there was a steady stream of people coming in the entire time. If they tell you theres a wait, just......wait. The omelet (Fun Guy) was amazing, the collaboration of flavors is great (not the most gorgeous but Im pretty simplistic when I order). I also got the raspberry mocha which had just enough of a raspberry flavor/ hint but not overpowering. Ive had many flavored coffees that have one part or another just take over the rest, and this was absolutely not that at all- everything well balanced. Very cute and quirky little restaurant, definitely worth the stop.
Great little place with amazing food! I had the Loxiluxe Egg Sandwich and delicious! Highly recommended for Breakfast if youre in the Salem area.
Everything is so good! Their sweet potato homefries were great. Definitely get the scotch eggs!
From out of town. Coolest breakfast spot - staff was wonderful and the food was a knockout. Huge coffee menu
Wonderful experience excellent service, food and atmosphere would recommend to anyone.
Specialty coffees are amazing. Food was excellent and staff was super friendly
Got there early to beat the weekend crowd. Everything was delicious
Amazing brunch spot in Salem! Homemade pulled pork is delicious!!
One of the best eggs benedit Ive ever had.
The sweet potato home fries are the hidden gem here. The huevos rancheros are also delicious.
While visiting Salem this weekend we stopped into this diner for breakfast. The food and service were excellent! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great breakfast spot!
One of the best places for breakfast in Salem, scotch egg is wonderful!
Staff was clear about mask wearing and extremely friendly. Decor is simply amazing. The food was just scrumptious. The streusel butter is insanely good!!
Such a cute little diner. My friend and I are visiting from out of state and we enjoyed our experience at the ugly mug!
Service was friendly, and relatively prompt. Took a while to be seated at one of the 2 empty tables.I had the fun guy omelet, home fries, rye toast (they were out of white bread) and sweet potato and brisket hash. The hash wasnt on my list of things to order again, but the omelet was perfect.Diner was clean, pleasant atmosphere, and staff took all necessary precautions regarding covid-19. Cant wait to go back.
Good food and a wide variety of coffee options as well.
Very nice, small establishment. Breakfast was very good. Had the Cinnamon Swirl pancake and it was delicious. Also the hungry chef(duck confit) So yum!
They really need to season their food. The hash was mushy and wasnt too appealing. The pork belly confirm was awesome but I still had to season it. My GF got a hair in her egg sandwich but they took that off the bill. Get some hair nets guys. Saw many people with long hair in and out of the kitchen.
I have never been treated so badly.went there for takeout, said they werenβt doing takeout cause they were busy. Never refuse a paying customer thatβs against the law. Needless to say I will be boycotting and I suggest peaple do the same.
So happy we chose the 20-minute wait and decided to eat here. Totally worth it, would wait 40 minutes now that I know how good it is for the future. I got a bacon and cheese omelet, nice and simple, and it was made perfectly. The home fries must have been seasoned with love or some type of spell from an olden day which because I absolutely fell in love with them. I meant to take a picture of my grub before I ate it so the picture of this mug will have to do! The next time Im in Salem I know where Ill be stopping by!
Such an awesome little place! The coffee is amazing and the food is delicious!! There can be a bit of a wait to get a seat but thats just because its a small place and everyone loves it!
Zamn I was impressed. No frills but plenty of funky options. Yum.
It was our first time here and all I have to saw is WOW. Itβs a cute little dinner with amazing food. I got the western omelette with sour dough toast & the home fries which were seasoned perfectly. The baymosa was so yummy! My boyfriend got a bacon egg & cheese sandwich & French toast. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommend & will definitely be back!
I loved the waffle with the brown cinnamon butter it was very filling...and I had a hot sβmores flavored coffee which was very good! The staff is friendly. The seating inside is extremely limited due to COVID and the wait was over 30 minutes but it was well worth it. There is also outdoor seating.
Slow service but great food
Service was slow. Like slow in a way Ive never seen before. Food was delicious though.
Eclectic menu, deliciouChoice! Great choice!
Excellent food, great devote wonderfful coffee and lovely staff whats not to love. And in the heart of salem!
Good food, good coffee, and great service. We will definitely be back.
Great menu! A bit dingy or dark inside, the staff is friendly, quick and efficient. Definitely a great stop
Cool diner, fun atmosphere, the food is decent, the only reason for 4 stars is the staff is a little unorganized, but it doesnt change the flavor of the place! After checking out the neighborhood, Id still come her over all others, Dot and Rays serves spoiled food, and food off the floor, and dont deny it, at least here you get quality food, quality service, and dont need a translator
