Owner makes the store even more exceptional! Very unusual “spooky” must see very different gift shop. Not the standard things and just an experience to see. Loved the energy and merchandise and the owner has made his place very nice.
This shop is phenomenal! There are so many different things to see, picked up a couple Authentic voodoo dolls. The shop owner was super cool, and informative. You have to see this shop if you’re in Salem MA!
The people that work here are so attentive and kind. I would literally buy from them because of that. They have so many great items from the weirdest, or funniest gifts to spiritual and helpful items.... and vintage, one of a kind and antique decor never seen before I swear !!! . Stop on by ! I personally bought one of the famous Kit Kat Clocks! Such a hard item to find locally .... happy I got to purchase form this special shop :)
Really cool place! Lots to look at and everyone is very friendly!

Variety of magic in here. Friendly knowledgeable staff.Best prices $!
Rob is one of the most fascinating people Ive met! And Stuart was super kind and great to talk to. They are both very knowledgeable in the field of occult and magic. The shop is super wonderful, and my go-to on certain herbs and materials for spell crafting. Love this shop!
Absolutely wonderful store! The store owner is super nice, not too mention very helpful.
I miss the Magic Parlor, so happy it is still open. It was one of the first stores of this kind around. Cant believe the same people are there. Inside there is something for everyone. Always get a laugh at some of the items in his store. I would love to go back and visit sometime. Friendly people and prices are reasonable. I would love some sage about now, big time for the old energy in this RV.
Amazing place, enjoyed stopping here multiple times on our vacation. Host was super friendly, look forward to going back~
I have never had a bad experience here. They have a good selection of interesting things and I’ve found that the key to getting polite service in regards to something is to politely ask. I have a good feeling that even if I asked rudely the staff here would attempt to help me to the very best of their ability. One of the many times I’ve been in this shop the current owner was delighted at my interest in prosthetics and special effects makeup, and we had a wonderful hour or so long conversation (between customers with whom he was delightfully attentive) about his knowledge and enthusiastic encouragement of my interest. I believe every encounter I’ve had there has been similar, if a bit shorter, and the staff has always been attentive, kind, and willing to share fantastic stories without neglecting other customers.
Apparently, you cant look around the store without being watched the whole time. I went into this store with my family on our vacation to Boston to just look around. There was a slime on the shelf that had previously been opened, and taped back together with scotch tape. I showed my little sister, and we laughed about how stupid it was, when a man working there came up to us, and told me that I had to pay for it now, because thats vandalism. We thought it was just a joke, but he was serious. He said that he had been watching me on the camera the whole time. However, if he was, he would of saw that I didnt open the slime. My dad tried to explain, that it was a 1$ slime, and that I had not opened, or ruined it in anyway. The man didnt believe us, and told us to pay for it, or get out of the store. So, my dad being as defensive as he was told him that, any money he would of received from us buying other things, he now lost because of a 1$ slime. I mean, come on! If youre really that desperate for money, at least be nice about it, you know? Even though I didnt touch the slime, my parents probably would of ended up paying for it anyway because we were interested in slime at the time.
I have been a regular customer of the Magic Parlor for over a decade. I’ve gone to Stephanie every New Year’s for tarot readings. The store had a bit of a rocky changeover when the previous owners sold the store, but because I enjoyed my annual reading. That tradition ends now.I’ve been busking in Salem for a year, and set up a busking pitch in front of the 5’ wide alley between the Magic Parlor and Hotel Salem. At a few points during my set, people came out of the store and threw snapper things (small gunpowder parcels sold at joke shops) in front of me. I thought nothing of it until the owner came out, stood over me, and snarled at me to move. I moved a few steps to the right (so that I was closer to the hotel) and played a few songs without incident... until someone threw a stink bomb at me. While the bomb didn’t hit me, I felt physically threatened by the owner and employees.I’ve enjoyed my time with Stephanie over the years, but I cannot go to a store where I feel physically threatened.
I called for an item we had seen in the store months prior. The man who helped me on the phone was so courteous and accommodating! He went beyond to make sure it was the statue I wanted and mailed it to me. I got it the next day and couldnt be happier! Extremely rare and beautiful statue.
Awesome little place in Salem. Visited with my mom, she bought a few things and I picked up two of the little totem stones for my girlfriend and I. Still have them! Very friendly staff. Great variety of oddities and themed items. Busy in the summer but thats expected. Will return next time Im in New England!
Great place to buy a few things for anything magic: be it stage magic or altar magic. The products offerred range from books to joke material, statues, incense, herbs, altar cloths, jewelry, stage magic items, etc. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Its a must see if you are into these things and you are visiting Salem.
Great place with honest people!
Found all the incense I could possibly want at reasonable prices. The store and and staff were warm and welcoming. !!!!
Very rude employee! I had a bag of Skittles in my hand as i walked in the store I was told in a nasty comment no food in the store. First of all I just had the bag in my hands I was not eating them. I turned around and walked out there are other shops I can spend my money on
Magic Parlor gets only 2 stars due to its HORRIBLE service and their tenancy to think everyone is stealing from their store. I am an Adult and I still feel like everything I do in that store I have one of the owners standing over the shoulder making sure I do not steal anything. They do get the 2 stars at least because they do have A LOT of great things. This is a great place to go to get all those pranks and fun things you remember as a kid (vomit gum, fake dog poo, stiff drink mix, blood candy, fart candy and EVERYONES FAVORITE stink bombs! I do recommend checking them out, but be ready to be looked at like you are stealing.
I remeber when this place had a whole backroom full of bumber stickers and it was the place to stop on feild trips. Got a great selection of magic tricks custum assecories, jokes. Incents and salem collectables great phychic thats been there since I was a kid so she gotta be doing something right . great place to visit
Walked in looking for something for my niece the first weekend of April. Great store and better employees. Highly recommend.
Great people here!
Awesome customer service and fun atmosphere!
The best place to find some good magic and joke stuff
Terrible customer service and filthy. We were visiting from out of town with our kids and perused the shops in Salem. My 12-year-old daughter picked up a slime in this shop that had previously been opened and had been re-taped with scotch tape and placed back on the shelf for sale. The man working the counter immediately came up and accused her of opening it and told her she would have to pay for it. We thought he was making a funny joke because, clearly, it was junk and had already been opened. But he wasn’t. When my husband attempted to explain that the package had already been opened, the clerk treated us like shoplifters. I’m all for small businesses being careful with their inventory, but when you’re trying to sell junk slime that you’ve rigged together with scotch tape by making accusations of shoplifting, then your business is clearly in trouble and you need a new strategy. Good luck with your balance sheet. PS - All of the other shops/clerks we’ve visited in Salem have been wonderful.
My wife visited recently from the UK she was absolutely buzzing. Many thanks to Stuart for making her welcome from Rob (Marston Vale Paranormal (GB))
The best store in Salem. 🖤
We loved this shop...a lot of novelty items for fun...but plenty of herbs and other great items to work with !!
Great place to go to.
Terrible service and extremely rude employees. Amazing a place like this is still in business.
Great shop with awesome people and fantastic costumes!!
My favorite shop in Salem, yes a lot of gimmicks and toys, but also allot of good jewelry, and items for the occult in the back of the shop.
I called twice looking for an oil that I knew for a certainty existed, I even went to at least four other stores requesting it not to once hear any disbelief of its existence. But all of a sudden just because the store doesnt carry it Im told it isnt real, very unprofessional of a store to say.
A little bit confusing since it is a mix of stage magician/Halloween shop and some actual magical items towards the back of the shop. Great prices though.
They sell a lot of fascinating items for costumes, pranks, and of course witchcraft. Worth a look!
Its always a good time when you find a joke and oddities shop.
These dudes rock. Go and see
Magic of all sorts, tricks, gags, costumery and more.
A must see spot for when visiting Salem
H really
Love it
