There may only be one here in Salem and its clear across town but I don’t even care. I love to shop here, I love to look around, and wish for a bit of everything and mostly always have.Today I finally got to experience the process of having to do a return at Harbor Freight and I can only give them an A+ on that, too. I didn’t get the third degree about my reasons for returning the item like at many other places, or the feeling of having to convince a typically scowling and suspicious human barrier standing between me and the $30 I should’ve spent in first place and now really would rather have in my gas tank, that I didn’t create this fake receipt in my basement, and that everything about me and the transaction were both legit like Ive grown accustomed to at other retailers around town, and that she didn’t need to scrutinize anything closer trying to find some reason to deny my mission. She was quick and sweet and I wish every retail employee had a few lessons with her.Thanks Harbor Freight Tools, for being and employing awesome.

Always a good deal! Except their website said the local store carried 16 no flat tires, when I arrived the biggest they carry was 13. So apparently the website isnt always accurate, but that is the first time thats happened to me!

Great place to by tools and other shop items with cheap batteries and all kinds of stuff. Even wall and floor safes. Friendly staff and they even have a INSIDE TRACK MEMBERSHIP for so much a year. As a member you can get early deals and huge savings.

Went in to buy bubblewrap for packing some boxes, used our motorhome to drive down to get a few items, the guy at the register was friendly and I quickly walked back to our Motorhome as we we sitting some lady( rude) shows up tells us we need to move our motorhome right away that we cant park there.. we were parked in the back of the lot near the Food truck and were not doing anything but sitting in our motorhome getting ready to leave..will probably not shop there again if this is the way customers are treated..Walmart isnt that far away and certainly dont harass paying customers

Supply of thicker automotive gloves has been scarce but I got a box of 50 finally last Wednesday on my most recent visit. You know what your going to get, good quality at reasonable price. Before covid $8, $20 now. Demand is high supply back to moderate. I had heard they get gloves Tuesday (if they get them at all for the week). They have a store occupancy limit of 50 now. Wasnt too busy when I last went.

Apparently only 2 people working in the while store. The cashier had to go get anything that anyone buys that is kept in the back store room and bring it out to the curb herself. So, that left no one maning the till to help other customers. This also meant there was absolutely no one working the floor to help customer locate items or answer any questions.

A good place to shop as long as you understand that you get what you pay for. I would not buy something that I depended on from here but for cheaper alternatives for tools they are great.

The cashiers are friendly, but the manager is completely unprofessional...preferring to initiate arguments with customers and and reacts unstably while on a power trip to belittle their return issues without any sense of decency or cognitive thinking. I will not shop this location anymore. Please support far more honorable and mentally-sound managers at businesses such as Home Depot, Lowes, and great local auto parts stores like Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, OReillys, and more. Who we support matters immensely!

Great place for the average home owner. Wide selection from garden to auto, with all in-between. I would recommend the warranty you have nothing to loose and most warranties are priced fair.

I dont ask for help unless it about an item I know very little or nothing about, I really try to do it on my own. But here when I asked for help and said I wasnt sure how to find the right size (Was wheel barrow tire) I got nothing but you can find them over there and she turned around started talking to co-worker. I guess customers dont matter here. Wont be going back.

Where else can you get tools that will do the job for this cheap? Well, it depends on what youre looking for and the job. Im a pretty forward planning shopper when it comes to my tools. I compare at the usual places, Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon, etc. There are definitely decent tools and other products at HF that will get the job done and sometimes even outlast the regular brands. You just have to do the research, read reviews, use some common sense, and lookout for the coupons. But dont knock it just because its cheap, real deals for decent products do exist.

Great Products at Low Prices for Fixing My home.I live near a Harbor Freight and got introduced this way. I love browsing in this place because there is always something I need and will find here. I normally dont hang out in tool stores but, folks, this is different. The prices are so good that I cant help it! It is not a full on place that has everything. I would consider it the Grocery Outlet of tool stores.

Very unsatisfactory experience repeatedly at the Salem store!The item I needed was out of stock in spite of on line stating multiple were in stock. Before my next attempt at a purchase I called ahead to Ron to be sure it would not be a 3rd waisted trip, but again it was! No stock. I called to excpress my frustration and Scott, the store manager, hung up on me.I will never make another purchase in that store and reccomend you dont waste your time either. Nothing they have is worth multiple wasted trips and rude or non existant customer servive. Harbor freight...Never again!

I tried to get an extension cord but they were out if the black Friday special. It would be nice to have extra in stock. But the two gentlemen that helped me were extremely nice.

They really need to train people on how to load small trailers. Trying to put a heavy toolbox on the end of a trailer. That would have been a disaster. Center it over the axle like I finally got him to do. No worries after that.

If you have to read a review of harbor freight you should know you can get cheap tools, and with many products there is a bit less quality than with some other stores and brands, but the prices... :)

Bare shelves. The place is a shell of what it used to be. Visited the Salem store on June 25. Looked like the aftermath of a going out of business sale. Best to call before you go to see if what you need is in stock.

Harbor Freight sells inexpensive, low-quality tools and they lack the breadth of inventory of a real hardware store. This might be seen as a knock on their business model, but its not. First of all, the bargains are seriously impressive, making it a wonderful place for picking up a tool you didnt think you needed until you saw it in the bin. But most importantly, if you need the right tool for a specific job and you are not sure you are going to need to use it again on a regular basis, Harbor Freight has to be the place to go. You will not spend much and if it breaks immediately, they will exchange out those tools that shouldnt have passed quality control. For the casual handyman and homeowner, this place is a God-send. Even for the more serious craftsman it has its place.Then, if you find yourself using the tool more often, you will find yourself hoping for a better quality version. So you wont feel bad when your Harbor Freight tool inevitably breaks and you need something not built of whatever China calls metal these days. You wont go to this store to purchase it, of course. They just dont have the quality here. But Harbor Freight has once more served its purpose.

The store is great, a good selection of poorly made tools. Their price point is low enough to keep you coming back regardless of quality. A couple things I have bought there that have been above my expectations are the Vulcan mig 140 welder and the predator 120v quiet series power inverters. Also, cant go wrong with their Icon line of hand tools.
