First, they told me they would probably need to replace the door, but tried a “fix” first, and only charged a a tiny bit. It held for about 6 months, (which was great actually!) then they came back and replaced the door for way less then other people were bidding. They do good work, but be careful when it comes to their pricing. Was told that estimates are free and then got charged $60 for a diagnostic. When I called the office later for additional info, they said that because they had to touch stuff, (i.e. push buttons, and run the door a few times) they charged a diagnostic fee. This was not explained at any point when scheduling the appointment, even though I had asked about cost to provide an estimate. It seems you have to do a diagnostic to give an estimate unless it’s something blatantly obvious like a broken spring.

We have been trying to get our original garage door opener fixed for months now and ended up needing to get the machine replaced completely. Technician Rick went above and beyond in helping fix the garage sensors. He installed the new sensors that will last for at least 14 years, checked on the existing wiring to make sure it wasnt bad, tightened up the bolts on the chain mechanism because they were loose and oil sprayed the crucial garage parts to ensure smooth opening and closing. He also configured the garage remote openers and replaced the battery in the 2nd remote opener. He explained how to open the garage door when there is no electricity and you need to get in the car and leave the house. I would definitely recommend this company for excellent service and prompt handling of the issue!

Rick was awesome! He came by to evaluate our garage door to see if it needed to be repaired or replaced. He was very down to earth and explained all our options—very practical and down to earth. He asked me to close the door so he could see the outside. When I told him I’d have to hold the button down so it would close, he adjusted the sensors and told me to try again. It worked perfectly! And that was just at his consulting visit. In the end, we determined the cosmetic damage to the door was too extensive and needed to be replaced, he also suggested moving the sensors down the a place they would be more effective at protecting small children and pets. I really feel like he went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the new door. Pricing was reasonable and everything was done promptly. Highly recommend Affordable Garage Door Repair!

I called Monday, and was scheduled for Tuesday at 1 PM. I got a message asking if the technician could come early. That never happens! Gene arrived wearing a mask and took command of the situation right away. He looked over the situation, gave me a quote, and got to work. He did the 21 Point Safety Inspection, made some adjustments to the track, replaced the spring, replaced the door sensors, installed an outside keypad, and fixed the wiring that I had apparently messed up trying to fix it myself. Late on a Tuesday my garage doors spring blew up and I needed to get my car out early the next day for a doctor appt. These people came out with one hours notice and fixed it. Can’t say enough good things about them.

I had problem where the door would not go all the way up. They came out, balanced my door, and adjusted the travel pins so that it now works perfectly. They were able to come quickly and went above and beyond to make sure that the opener was working perfectly by calling the opener company help line and double checking all the possible problems. They were able to better diagnose and fix the problem than other companies who simply suggested that the opener needed to be replaced at a high cost. Their fee was very reasonable especially considering the amount of time spent fixing the problem. I highly recommend this company.

Gene arrived and provided me with options, he had to run back to his shop to pick up a piece needed for the repair, he did a general maintenance and found the rollers were worn out, replaced those and it feels like I have a new garage door; it is so quiet. It is better now than the original installation from another company. Wow! I had a guy come out this morning to open why my garage door & determine why it wouldnt open. He quoted me a crazy price to get the door open. I was at work, so my adult daughter was there. He knew he needed to call me at work to get paid. He could only get the door open, but couldnt do the repair because my daughter was going to need to move things out of the way for him to get to the opener. He called me for payment while I had a customer in front of me, and I told him Id call him back in a few minutes to pay. When I called back FOUR MINUTES LATER, he had closed the door & wouldnt let me daughter in until he heard back from me! FOUR MINUTES!! Now he had to open it for her again -- hes the only one who could. I was furious! I told him he just lost a customer & would have someone else out to do the repairs.

They eventually got it right. I called because of a crashed door. They sent someone out to fix it, and he did. Price was $200. I hardly ever use my garage overhead door. Id say the fifth time I used my overhead door, it crashed again. I called Affordable to come out. A different person came out and identified the problem. He not only fixed the door, but said he made some adjustments to fix the underlying problem. Price was another $200. If the second guy would have come out the first time, Id have $200 in my pocket that I dont have now.
