The owner/manager of the store is the best. He is always so helpful from the moment you walk in the door and not in an annoying way. His sense of humor and personality always makes me laugh and giggle when I listen to him as I’m browsing around. Very personable. This store is the furthest from me then all the other art supply stores in San Antonio but the customer service is worth it. I’ll definitely keep going there first before anywhere else.

I used to shop at Hobby Lobby and Michaels but at Asel art I feel at home! They have so much to choose from. As a painter, they have everything and more that suits my needs! The staff is very friendly and helpful, also the prices are better than some of the stuff at other places I have shopped at. This is my go to place and I couldnt be happier! Definitely worth stopping by for your next art project!

Ive been visiting this shop off and on for close to a decade for gifts for my sister, and recently to start my own inventory. They have always had spot on customer service and fantastic deals that were always helpful for a student wanting quality products. The staff are willing to go out of their way to make sure youre getting exactly what you nee, with my most recent experience involving them mixing colors to make sure I was getting the right shades for my project.I would give 20 stars of possible.

They are clearly geared for students, and the prices reflect that assumption. However, they are pretty easy going about the student discount, so be sure to mention if you are a struggling independent artist. I love their variety of ink, pen and drawing utensils and especially that they are sold individually. I come here for the perfect pen when I need a specific job done. The paints are expensive but the brands are well chosen and sold individually by tube, same with brushes and ink supplies. The large canvases are well stocked and the dimensions arent just square and 5:3 rectangles, but some more interesting ones as well.I love coming here, but can never get more than a couple items with my budget. If you need standard things, go to the craft store with their weekly coupon. Come here knowing what you need in specific or high quality supplies. Unless you have $$, in which case have a blast!!

The selection was amazing and so were the prices, not to mention the great customer service! The man who helped me was sooo amazing! Once he found out I teach painting classes, he showed me every type of paint possible that could be used, thoroughly explained the differences between the brands, and even gave me a free tube of paint as a sample! I can not express how much I enjoyed my experience here and the knowledgeable artist.

Best art supplies in town. Not for crafts so much...they cater to artists. Manager John is an encyclopedia of artists materials and techniques, and his staff always offers friendly and savvy service.

We went in and were immediately greeted and helped. Received individual attention from the manager for almost an hour, helping us find the right pencils we needed. Im floored with how cool the staff was, and the selection was just what we needed. Go here if you have any need for any writing/drawing/painting/engineer drafting materials. Coming from a mostly-online shopper, Im coming back here instead.

Customer service was great. Went in with a list for my son and one of the guys that worked there just asked for our list to help us find everything. Art supplies are expensive in general.. But I would go back if we needed anything else.

Folks working here are super! The girl that helped us was cool about recognizing us as a scout troop and made the boys think it was cool.The drafting supplies are just the essentials but a fair assortment.Rest of the shop was clean, well organized and looked like it had everything else you could want from an art shop.

This store has a nice selection of Procion MX dyes. When Im on a deadline for a tie dye project, its nice to have a local source thats close to where I live.

I got some nice pins and a sketchbook from there. it seems family run, but its a great place to get some cheap, nice art supplies!
