You don’t want to come here! Slow. Wait in customer service. Wait in the yard. Wait to get out of yard. Could not find size of lumber I paid for. The loader gave me next size up ….1x2x12 to a 1x2x14. Had to park truck go back inside get at the end of the line and wait again. Not fun!

Very poor customer service being with the ladies up front and to thier sales team, they lie to customers, and dont want to give a refund back, I would never ever again buy from them u have better luck with home depot customer service

Whole staff walks around like dragging zombies the loaders in the back Making plans for the weekend while a line of trucks wait to be loaded or checked. Seems like the whole store needs a good shaking especially customer service. Just start fresh with a whole new management team is whats very much needed

I came here yesterday and purchased railroad ties, a new drill, rebar and lastly a drill bit that was recommended by a guy named Luis. He told me that this bit would fit for the hole.Used it and it isn’t wide enough. Came back to exchange and because it was used one time they won’t return it. I bought this bit because Luis said this would work. He was wrong, so the store should own up to it.This was my first time coming here and last.

Im a General Contractor, Ive been buying material from MG Building Materials for over 30 years. Best prices in Texas, I know that for sure! Dont expect a thank you for your business letter!!! Lol 😆

Bought some items for a bathroom repair. I decided to put in a new toliet from a another business. When I brought the items back for a refund. They told that the refund had expired. They would not even give store credit. This must be a discount store. I will never buy any thing from MG Building Materials again.

Not even deserving of the minimum one star I have to give. Joke of a business. Unprofessional, rude, unorganized, slow and lazy work environment. Ive never seen so many paid enployees stand around while a line of customers continues to build up. Id rather drive an hour out of my way to give my business else where than to ever deal with these people again. Dont waste your time or energy here its not worth it.

Management allows harassment of female employees by male employees. An incident had one female employee choked by male employee in front of manager and two other males associates. Rediculous

Okay, everyone seem like they were bored hardly anyone in store cashier on there cellphone didnt notice me standing ready to pay until I asked which register is open. Then there not even happy to cash you out.

Rick the lumber yard manager is rude, as well as his crew. If they dont wanna work then the company should hire people that do. I called to make a complaint at the So called Corporate Office and a lady by the name of Genevieve answered and laughed about the complaint. I dont find it funny at all especially when Im spending my money there. The owner needs to be aware of the customer service coming from this location and do some proper training with these employees. After today, I will no longer take my business there. Customer Service really does go a long way with PAYING customers

The lumber prices cant be beat - I had all the lumber to build my house delivered (one driver was great and dropped the material where we needed it, the second driver made excuses and also knocked down part of my tree). The store is always empty so if you need to go in and grab some gardening tools, plumbing supplies or paint its perfect. If you have a question/order materials and have to stand in line - take your chances. You may have a 5 min wait or a 1 hour wait.David is awesome - he showed me/explained door options, locks and trim options. The guys that load up materials have always been fast, friendly and professional. Ill keep going back

I cant say enough about two Gentlemen that work here. Mario, who checks you in for pickup, so courteous and professional. The other, James.. didnt skip a beat to help you. He is efficient and beyond and will go to lengths to make sure you have good service. Thank you, MG Lumber...good workers!!

Almost got runned over three times by a forklift drivers when picking up lumber in the back very dangerous and employees are very rude and are just there to pick up a paycheck

Cashiers are no help whatsoever theyre watching videos and anything you need they send you to customer service. Outside in the yard expect to wait 30 mins in line. Just to go in and see tge guys resting..

It was my first visit there and everything and everyone was great.

Its pretty quiet. Asked a couple people for some help but just waved me off maybe they were busy I want the round didnt find what I needed and I let nobody ever talk to me.

This place has the worst service on the lumber field. Normally I have to load my material if not it will take 1 hour just to wait for someone to help . need to change the process.

It’s a shame that the excellent customer service of the sales team, is RUINED by the disrespectful manners of the yard team. In particular, Rick the yard manager was not just unhelpful in getting our materials, but rude in the way he conducts himself with customers. Simple requests were met with derisiveness, and a rude attitude. Management should look into it, I can say that I’ll never send any of my construction company’s business their way because of this experience. Happy to provide more details if I’m contacted.

I went and it took me 2 hours to get my wood loaded. Not only that, they loaded the wrong wood onto my truck and I got stopped another 20 min while they took the wood that wasnt on my order down, and then they took pictures of my vehicle. I hate this place. I left feeling dirty and wrong, after spending 2+ hours and spending over 500 bucks. If I have a choice about it, I would never ever go back here.

Excellent service inside, Ryan was super friendly and helpful. But what a horrible yard experience. The line was hours long and the process definitely needs an overhaul to improve and expedite the system. Time is money and I do not appreciate my time being wasted.

Every time I go the yard people either don’t want to help or don’t know what their own product is. Just picked up some bought some crown mounding and had to ask 3 different people where it was, Somebody loaded it and they checked me on the way out. I get to the house I’m working on and this is not the stuff we bought. Every other time it’s always a hassle to get help.San Antonio has to do better.

Saturdays a bit busy getting materials from yard. Takes longer checking in and out than making the purchase inside.

Lot workers seem very lazy, it takes way too long to get 1 sheet of plywood. There is a line inside the store to place order, then another to speak with the lot person and a 3rd line to get out of the lumber yard. This place needs to reconfigure the customer process.

This place is not in the business of customer service. Expect to pay lower prices than other big box stores, but youll have to wait in like a half hour just to place your order because theyre too cheap to pay sales reps well. Also takes 30 mins just to get in the yard bc they pay their yard labor pennies and dont ecen provide them cold water. They just stand around and who can blame them. Place has cheap materials but they offset that by hiring way less labor than needed and paying them much less than they deserve.

To my surprise my shopping experience was very good, and I would go back. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We waited over an hour and 45 minutes to get into the the yard and then load up our 10 boards. This place is a joke! There’s no organization to how to get your items. The service was really terrible. The fork lift guys would tell you one thing and do another. This seriously has to be the worst lumber yard around. Almost 2 hours just for 10 2X6s... WHAT A DISGRACE! I’d rather have paid the extra $1/ board for Home Depot.

Expect to wait a long time! Even if they have 5 employees. These people don’t care if you need to get back to work or not. Very slow!Worse ever. Go to Home Depot or Lowe’s they will match prices.

First off I love MG. Unfortunately they did not have what I needed today. I like to go to MG because they have the best prices. Their service is usually excellent and I like to have a security guard in the front.

I have waited almost 15 years to write this review. I see that I am not alone in saying M &G Supply does not deserve your business. Do not shop there. Do not order anything from them. Do not trust them to treat you with any dignity or respect. My experience with them was so bad... I can only say from my perspective they acted like thugs. The two brothers (owners) do not deserve your respect. I specifically requested that they not deliver 25 square of roof shingle onto the roof of my house but they did. They dropped an entire pallet onto the roof. I didnt discover the damage until 10 months later when I complained they tuned me out..What goes around comes around and I can see that 15 years later there is not one review here on Yelp saying that M&G deserves your business. Here is my review to be included among those that will never shop there again.

They have good prices but their customer service sucks! Employees are rude time and time again. They act as though they have somewhere better to be and youre bothering them. They lost a very large order of ours that was placed over the phone. They promised delivery on a certain date and when I called to confirm the delivery, they couldnt even find the order but my credit card didnt lose MGs charge. Ive heard from multiple contractors that MG doesnt deliver on time. They lie and promise one date and deliver another. Their prices may be low but the money their costing me running their business this way is not worth the hassle. Im better off paying slightly more elsewhere for a guaranteed product and good customer service. Their website is terrible too.

They had the lumber i couldnt find at other big box hardware stores and delivered it the next day.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I cant even pre pay for an item and have them hold it here for ready for pickup. I dont know when the items will get it here,is all they say. I call, we have 11 in stock. So I rush over in 20 min. Sorry none in stock.Staff is super helpful. Dont bother calling either. Everyone is unhelpful. Glad there are other places and options. Cant compare to Home Depot. Bye.

After standing in line for 20 minutes and wiling to spend $126 for rail road ties, the manager told my husband that she couldn’t sell them to him because “we close the gate at 4:45pm.” We’ll it’s 4:43! “Yeah well we’re closing now you can come back Monday.” We won’t be back. Will spend our money elsewhere.

Pros: they have stuff you may not find at other places.Cons: Dont go there if your in a hurry. you buy your lumber inside and have to go outside to collect. Pull your truck up to the gate, a guy checks your receipt, forwards you to the next stop where you wait in line with the others in their vehicle. workers are passing you by stocking and unloading stock but not helping customers. they look at you like I feel for you, wish I could help. 10 guys stocking 1 guy helping customers (seems like). I waited 20 minutes for 1 piece of lumber. had a small nap, used my electric razor, got a nice shave. anything to be progressive.dont try to contact me unless youve fixed the problem. Your doing this to yourselves.

They have overnight parking. A security officer checks your bills then allows you to park. They got me unloaded quickly in the morning. No problems or hassles.

They gave me the wrong item but the right receipt. I asked for an exchange and had to go through three gates of checkpoints before unloading the item and another 4 gatekeepers was to get the right item. The front staff said the back staff were wrong. No one apologized. Had to drive there twice to get my item. Double check your purchases there.

Prices are fantastic. People are very knowledgeable and helpful. Takes some time to load, but worth the wait.

Daniel is rude and unprofessional, horrible customer service experience. Didnt honor, or recall promising a discount on future lumber. I asked if he could check the original order for notes regarding the discount offered and his comment was, I never promise a 20% discount. All he continued to say was, I would never say that. Didnt bother asking how much we were trying to purchase, locate the original order or offer a different discount. Our original order was for the delivery of 4 LVL, which was misplaced, and delivered late. The courteous thing wouldve been to take 5 minutes to research or simply realize we were asking for a whopping $8 discount.Instead, he treated us like we were trying to scam MG out of $8.

Take your business else where ive been dealing with this company for over a year now. I gave them a chance thinking it couldnt get worse then builders first source. Boy was I wrong. MG has a bunch of retards that lie and screw up the most simple orders. Save yourself time and choose another company.
