I was shopping around in San Antonio for a new Audio in my car and came across custom sounds off of walzem rd. I had no knowledge whatsoever about audio in a car. Came in and Kelly really helped me out. I asked him a lot of questions and he taught me everything he knew about audio systems in a car and I told him what I wanted and to achieve in my car and we went over subwoofers and speakers in my car and I took his advice on what was best for my vehicle. I came back later that day and he did not disappoint at all. I left the shop that day with the biggest smile on my face and everything I wanted on my vehicle. Worst experience tried twice to get window tint after paying $25 for each appointment only to not get refunded and told me i wasn’t able to my tints done why make people pay for a guaranteed appointment if you’re not going to follow thru glad I found another company who was able to do that for me.. they need to change their appointment system just say first come first served and don’t take people money if u not gone follow thru.. #ripoff

Came here Saturday to get my speakers checked out, was told I could come back Sunday at 11 (store hours seemed to have changed) if I wanted to get checked out immediately. I showed up early to ensure I was first in line, since they dont have a scheduling system (all first come, first serve appointments) and waited for an hour for a tech. While I was waiting, I got 0 updates about what was happening or how far out the tech was. After an hour, I told the guy at the register that I was going to leave, and he said, Thats fine, so I walked out.... Im giving it an extra star because they DID sell me sound dampeners that worked a few months back.

I do not recommend getting your windows tinted here. After 3 years, my rear window is full of bubbles and side windows have some bubbles.

I had my first problem ever with an auto alarm system that they installed over 8 years ago. They got it fixed and working properly again with zero hassle and only a short wait!These people have always done great work on installing items that I didn’t have the time and/or knowledge to do myself.An installer at the Fredericksburg Road location built a great custom subwoofer box for one of my vehicles about 8 years ago and it still sounds awesome after many great road trips!Keep up the great work... all of you who work there have earned my loyalty and respect!

Wow!! They do above and beyond. My 99 Chevrolet Blazer is now mine. They are professionals and also price minded, they found an old alarm they voided the 75 dollars removal fee, because unique different scenario but this guys are professionals.. and installation has Lifetime warranty!!.. I will be back to get my Radio install and the Dashboard front panel the robbers broke taken a 20 dollars faulty radio and my Gold battery.. I will come back. Money well paid, for me because I will keep this Blazer forever. I am beyond happy with my BMWs new sound system!! I got quotes around town and this location had the best prices BY FAR. I had pretty high expectations and the work that was done produced results that was pretty stunning. My husband initially started the transaction and I picked it up/dropped it up off. When I picked it up, the associate was nice enough to sync my phone to my car and let me know how to work everything and he make sure to note the warranty info. I couldnt be happier with the price I paid for the work that was done. You pay for what you get and I am in LOVE!!P.S.I saw another review so I just want to address that I highly doubt race plays a part in this locations pricing or the attention you get. Its in a pretty diverse area of town and Ive been here so many times that Ive lost count. Worth any wait...

Purchased a Kenwood head unit that wasnt quite working how I expected, took the time to answer my questions, offered to do an upgrade and get me what I really wanted. What made it even more exceptional is this was done over text messaging and some phone calls! Truly showed what great customer service means to them! Would highly recommend, Mike turned buyers remorse into a learning experience and helped me get what I needed.

Saw a picture online of a custom stereo system they did on a golf cart. Thought it looked awesome so I went by to get a quote for my golf cart. Just so we are clear, my father in law had a stereo put in his boat a long time ago at this location. Awesome! I had them put a system in my truck awhile back. Awesome! Anyway, I got a quote for around $650-$700 and scheduled an appointment for today (8/14/20). Was told to come in at 10am and so I showed up at 9:45am. The manager showed up at 9:58. Didn’t open the shop until after 10:05. I was 3rd in line. My turn came and he printed out the paperwork and I asked if I could drive it around back. I wasn’t about to leave my golf cart unattended. He said yes pull around back and they’ll open the door. I did exactly that. I offloaded the golf cart and waited. And waited. And waited some more. I finally walked around the front of the store and peeked my head in. Jason said we will call you when it’s done. I said he still hasn’t opened the doors. Jason then called to the back and asked the guy to open the doors. Then it seemed as if a argument took place. From where I was standing it seemed like the guy didn’t want to put the radio and speakers in my cart. Jason finally got off the phone and said he’s gonna open it now. So I walked around back and waited. And waited. And waited. I finally said screw it and loaded up my golf cart. After loading it I waited some more. After waiting outback for 45-60 minutes, I left. Pretty fired up. It wasn’t until around 11:45 they called me but I had already dropped it off with another place who didn’t jack around.My advice to Jason is to fire that clown working in the back. With the hard times we are currently under, someone will gladly accept that job and do it with a smile. I know $650-$700 isn’t a lot of money compared to some other stuff y’all have done, but it’s $650-$700 another place is getting. I’ll never step foot in the Walzem location again.

Went into the shop to have a sub checked that I had purchased. Jason was kind enough to hook it up, free of charge. I’ll definitely go back for my final install. Great service.

DO NOT spend your hard earned money in this horrible of an excuse of a business. If 0 stars were possible that’s what I would give this placeI went to this location as soon as they opened at 10 am & handed them the keys to my car at 10:30 am for a standard tint job. The gentleman helping me by the name of Gilbert stated he was calling in the tint guy to get my car started and this was at 10:30 am. He also stated the job shouldn’t take more than a hour and a half & he would call when the car was ready. 2 hours & 30 minutes pass by & still no call for an update on my car. I call the building 4 times and no one answered, the 5th call is when Gilbert picked up the phone. I asked him what’s the status on my car and he stated “ they are running behind & the tint guy has just arrived to work”. By now it is 1:00 pm and do you think these guys even had the DECENCY to call me and tell me there was a delay? Or even offer a compensation? No. I will be taking this to corporate as well. I called the manager & do you think he answered or bothered to call back after leaving a voicemail? No! Bottom line is these people do not care and still want you to pay the full amount after a terrible customer service such as this. They offer you nothing but UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS. do yourselves a favor and do not go here at all.

Sad Customer service. They will tell you a price and pretend they were talking about another system or product when you get there, even when you verify the exact product over the phone. Then, they want to charge you another $200 for the correct item.DO NOT waste your time with these guys. They will definitely waste your time and feel nothing for doing so.

This location i must say is pretty awesome!! My husband went in today and needed the wiring harness and antenna to install the radio he bought for me and these guys were right on top of everything we asked and needed from them! They new exactly what he needed and even gave him some pointers when he had questions about why something wasnt working properly after installation when they very well could have charged us for that! I would highly recommend this location and the customer service is fantastic!!! Thanks to everyone that assisted in getting things done the right way!!

Best service around!!!! They helped me with and overhead DVD player that needed to be reinstalled due to a vehicle burglary!!! The staff was extremely understanding and took me right in. The guys at Custom Sounds provided excellent service today, of all days! (Black Friday) They were busy with installs, but helped me with what I needed as soon as they were able. They were courteous and the job was completed in the time they specified...it wasnt quick (Installs take time), but they were on time.I had only planned to have one stereo installed as a Christmas gift for my son, but they earned my business on 2 different vehicles today!Courtesy is important to me.

I was in the area with a blown sub, stopped in just to check out what they have. Honestly wasnt expecting to walk out if the door with a speaker in my hand! Great experience, knoweldgeable staff, defenetly recommend!

Took in my Pilot to get the 2 front windows tinted. The next day, I noticed a bubble near the top of the front passenger window. I waited to see if the adhesive would dry out and suck the bubble in. It did not after about 5 days. I took it back to see if it could be pressed out, but it was already dry. Custom Sounds had no issue redoing the tint for that window and it took about 15 mins. Other than that, the entire tint job looks excellent and their tint guy did a great job. The Pilots driver and passenger front doors have a smaller inset window that doesnt open or close and are tricky for tinting. Custom Sounds did a perfect job tinting these window insets. All in all, the tint looks great and their customer service was right on. I read some of the other reviews about wait times. True, it could be awhile. Actually, this was our second time trying to get the tint. The first time we were 2nd in line and we were told it was going to be about 3 hours. Business is first come first serve, so get there early. Thanks Custom Sounds!!!

Came in with a radio that Best Buy said had issues during install to get it bench tested. They tested it and said it worked fine, but wouldnt install it themselves due to the custom nature of the work. However, the pointed me in the right direction to get the job done. Very helpful staff.

Was in a dire need of a fuse replacement because both outlets were blown and had no time to go anywhere else. Needless to say I was greeted at the door, serviced and my own my way in less then ten minutes. Amazing customer service and will always return to this location! Thanks again!!

This is the best custom sounds in our area. The staff is knowledgeable, honest, and they take care of their customers. The employee that took care of me was Albert and I could not thank him enough! He went out of his way to help me out, which is rare today. I highly suggest if you are thinking of purchasing a sound system, then this place is the place to go.

JL Audio component speakers in the front with a 10 JL Audio sub in ported box running off a JL Audio 500w amp in the back sound great and clean install. Sound dampening kits made a huge difference! Jason and Brandon were a huge help with honest opinions.

I cant say i loved this place, but i do like the job that was done on my tinted windows. Jason was helpful and friendly. So Ill be sure to come back and look at other products and work Custom Sounds offers. My mother also liked the job and should be bringing her car by for tinted windows.

These guys are smart. They definitely know what theyre doing. They will get your sound system just the way you want it but be prepared to pay a premium price for their service because it is expensive compared to other places that offer sound system services.

Excellent experience all around. I took in a front+rear dash cameras to be installed, along with a battery hook up for park mode. They quickly gave me a quote and had my car ready for pickup a few hours later. I didnt like the spot where they put the front camera, and they had no qualms spending the additional time to get it right.Its a very clean install, much better than I would have been able to do myself even with extra care, and works great. Straight to the point Albert took great care of me and showed a level of professionalism that is expected in this business. I had a previous issue that could have spun out of control quickly but Albert worked hard on getting me taken care of like I should of been taken care in the first place. The previous management there I hate to say but I speak the truth were not up to the level of standards that Albert leads by and goes to show with the shoddy work I was given. The most impressive part about all this was Albert got the original installer to come back and redo the shoddy work. This was that installers third attempt at trying to fix my issues with the system. Once Albert was involved I was treated like royalty seriously. I mean when you drop 3k+ that is whats expected. The system should drive for you lol. That type of money only says I am serious about the sound quality of music I listen to and obviously I want a professional to install the system and that wasnt done until Albert took charge. Albert I will be back to get the Navigator worked on. Definitely this place is what it is supposed to be and its all because of Albert.

Came into the store in hopes to troubleshoot an alarm and remote start system that I did not purchased through them. They showed great customer service and assisted in fixing my auto start system. I highly recommend reaching out to this store for your customization needs and upgrades.

They have poor customer service. Quality of work is also poor. I was told, prior to purchase and installation, that Id be able to add the remote start feature to an Avital alarm system I bought from them. Months later I decided that I wanted remote start and was told that I could not add it. I originally bought the alarm system based on the understanding that I could add the remote start feature at another time now they tell me Ill need to buy a whole new alarm system in order to have or add that feature!!! This is the second time Ive had issues with these people. I will no longer be shopping here or any Custom Sounds for that matter for my other vehicles.

Bought an alarm here 2 years ago, since then, I broke 1 remote and the other 1 is on its last leg. I went up to the location to see if I could buy another remote and get it programmed. Short Hispanic dude I talked to told me I dont think we do that here I dont understand how you dont do that here when you are an alarm shop as well and I bought it from you!!. Then he proceeded to tell me I need to come back cause His manager and the other tech had just left for lunch and wont be back for an hour Why are you even open if you cant do the smallest stuff. I ended up going to Brothers Audio on Crossroads and was able to purchase 1 and he programmed it for me in less than a minute. Guess they didnt want my money🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I just purchased my vehicle two days ago. Everything in it was connected & working properly when I dropped it off. When I picked it up my antenna was not connected in the back window. The installer argued me down that the piece was off when they received my vehicle which I know was a lie. I have pics to prove it. Long story short take pics of your property before you leave it because the installers wont own up to mistakes they make or things they break. Jason was courteous enough to have him fix it or at least try before we moved on to another solution.
