I had such an amazing experience today, Amber Carreon from CarMax went above and beyond to make my car buying experience AMAZING!!! I wish every car salesman/woman was as informed and attentive as she was. I would definitely come back to her for another car purchase! Absolutely the best car purchase Ive ever made with a sales person. My Tesla is absolutely amazing, carmax did a great job keeping up with the upkeep of the car and displaying it to me at the dealership. Will definitely be coming back soon!
This was our first experience with CarMax and we were definitely pleased. The buying department offered a completely fair trade-in value for my vehicle (more than I expected!) and Colin, our sales guy, was great! We paid for a vehicle to be transferred from a different store and Colin did everything he could to streamline the process. They couldve done a little better job on detailing the vehicle, found a few spots that shouldve been caught by their detailing department but certainly nothing that would have been a deal breaker. Well be back!
Jose did an amazing job when my fiancé and I were trading in our car. He made our trade in quick and easy.Unfortunately, we weren’t 100% satisfied with the car we drove off the lot. My overall experience was good in purchasing the vehicle. The salesperson was very knowledgeable. I did experience having to take my vehicle back before the 30 days because of three items needed done and only two were taken care of. I feel a lack of or non communication concerning the third item left me a little stun. Mainly because of the great repetition Carmax has. If there are some things that the buyer is responsible for, that should be explained.
Everything was great except one thing. My grandpa kept asking if the car had cruise control. The man who took care of us said it dis and showed us the button. It does not have cruise control. He lied. He kept ignoring my grandpas question for a reason cause he lied.
Came here to sell our vehicle. Ive done business with them before and found they always offer top dollar for what am selling or trading in.Only issue, (good though) is they are so busy that wait times can be a little high. Even if your just selling them your car. Still. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Just have to wait it out. Id recommend coming in two cars if your just selling your car and do the pre selling quote online first. It helps.

We were very happy with the service we received from the CarMax San Antonio, Tx location. They brought the vehicle we were interested in from Austin, Tx in a timely manner and scheduled us for a test drive within a few days.After our test drive we decided that we wanted the vehicle and they were quick to get us set up for closing since we already had outside financing.We recommend using your personal bank for financing if possible as our bank rate was 1.75% and there was 3.75%. Big difference between the two affects your finance charges.The thing I am unsatisfied with is the detailing/cleanliness of the vehicle. They had several days between our closing date to get this taken care of and didnt. The vehicle was clean to start with from the Seller but I feel like that Dept. did not go the extra mile to meet our expectations. I had made it clear to the salesperson that I expected this to be done and he assured me it had. It was dark and after 9pm when we left the dealership so I could not tell that it had not been done until the next day.If this is important to you, I would be sure to close on a weekday before dark thirty.Outside this small problem we are Happy with the S.A. Dealership and recommend you give them a try.Lastly, they were also the highest priced bidder on buying our vehicle plus we got extra credits toward our state taxes for a trade in.Happy Searching for your new wheels!R & R

Big shout out to Rudy. We brought my MIL here to shop around, drive & price different vehicles. We waited for about an hour for a Spanish representative to assist us, nobody came. We approached Rudy who looked to be busy but immediately offered us his help. My MIL found the exact vehicle she wanted Rudy made the entire process very easy, he was not pushy he gave us plenty of options & was very kind to our entire family.
Inquired about a trade in while I was there making a payment. The entire process was super quick and easy. My salesman Jose was very nice and helpful. I have now owned 3 vehicles from carmax and have never had any issues.

Very crowded. We were with our friend who was selling her car. She had a prequote. Took over 4 hours, double the time they told us. Bathroom not clean. They did stay true to their quote on her car.
Just fair service. Very nonchalant way of treating people. Yeah no high pressure but also not warm and fuzzy to feel comfortable. This is just a transaction place. Dirty bathrooms. Low amount of sales will say hello when passing. Poor follow up from sales and management.

I found a car online that I possibly wanted to be shipped to this location, but was apprehensive because it didnt even have photos online yet. I came to this location and Giovanni helped me out. He contacted the California location where the car was, obtained photos, and then when I agreed, he had it shipped here. He kept me updated throughout the entire process. It was the easiest, most relaxing car buying experience.
It was a stressful adventure, but glad its over. I ordered my car from another state, did financing online and still almost had car sell to someone else. Why? System is a failure in proper communication. Car was shipped in and went by to see it. A salesman told me many people were looking at the car I paid to ship in, Id have to wait in line. I had my credit pulled 3x by CarMax. Twice online and once again at vehicle pick up. I took the car in for inspection, only needed an alignment. They shipped my plates, that was nice.
I was not looking forward to spending my only day off shopping for a new car, but I was pleasantly surprised with my car buying experience at CarMax! This was my first time buying a car at CarMax and Im pretty sure this is where Ill go when its time for me to get my next car! The salesman I worked with, Russell, was very easygoing, polite, and patient with me, even though I forgot my car title at home and had to leave and come back to get the title. He was not pushy at all and did not try and get me to buy a more expensive car or spend more money like you would experience at a normal car dealership. Huge shout out to Russell!

Love K Starling, assisted me in getting my new car, but I noted the tire light was on during my test drive so he told the service department. When I was completed with buying he double checked with the service department and said it was taken care of. I got in and started driving away and noted it was still on, but I was just leaving the parking lot since the light is under the speed dial. I went back, but they told me the service tech was not on to check back on Monday. I went to discount tire and they put air in the tire(it was at 19psi) and light went out which told me the service department did nothing. The light came back on today which tells me there is a slow leak in the tire and 18 days to get low enough for light and that Car Max sold me a vehicle with a bad tire. Sad for that.
Unfortunately never bought a car from here, however I have sold multiple cars here. They will always give you top dollar for your trade ins and you dont even need to buy a car from them after. All of the people here are really nice and salesmen arent pushy, they wont make you feel bad for shopping around.If you want to get good money for selling your car and you want that money fast this place offers the best value for your car that Ive seen. Only way youd get more would be selling privately. Getting your car appraised here also gives you leverage at other dealerships, it gives you in paper proof of how much your car is really worth.

The whole Car Max process works well. After buying several cars from Car Max I have never had any problems. The employees are well trained and are very professional.
Places was great! Helpful easy to work with.Updated had an issue with the car we bought they took it back with no problem it was still under the 1500 mile warranty and help me find a new car as I didnt want that one any longer also gave a rental to use until my new car is ready. It was the best customer service I have ever had at dealership in my life will use them again for future car buying.

It was different than what I expected. Not bad but not great either. I did everything online and had to do everything again once I got to the center. I was told maybe an hour to an hour and a half. This was the time frame they told me after I finished everything online. I finally got to leave 4 1/2 hours after I arrived. If I had to redo all the paperwork once I was there, why make me do it all online anyway? I also think the moving from desk to desk for each step was a bit of overkill. Everything could have been taken care of from the paperwork, to the deposit, to signing the lease at one desk. But overall it wasn’t that bad for having to do all this in a pandemic. The salesman was excellent. Extremely friendly. Everyone was friendly. I loved the big yellow bow you got on your new car when you left!!! I will more than likely use CarMax again in the future.

The advertised home delivery, everything can be done online! Well, first, you dont get 1 salesmen, you get whoever answers the call center. Every time you call, you will get a different answer. I finally got everything done yesterday, car was supposed to be delivered today! When they sent me the paperwork to sign right before my delivery, the totals did not add up. They forgot to add the Max Care extended warranty. It was on the buyers order they sent me yesterday, which I in turn, sent to my bank. Today, they tell me, well its going to be $300 more because its not available at that price, maybe you can ask your bank to increase your loan amount. Uh, no. Yall sent me the price and I said yes! Still dont know whats going on because while on hold waiting to see if they are making the adjustment, they dropped my call...no call back yet.UPDATE: I finally did get my car, everything processed online. The third, or fourth, call center person had transposed the mileage of the car on my contract, which eliminated the option of the Max Care I had chosen. He discovered his mistake the next day and contacted me then. I think that they should assign one person to assist a buyer through the whole process. And if a call is dropped, call the customer back! Love my new car!

My experience was horrible, paid to have a vehicle transferred from Indianapolis on the 16th of September, was told on the 4th of October that the vehicle had arrived, however the vehicle couldnt be sold as the title was missing/lost, I found another car just like it on the 4th but was told on the 5th that they couldnt have it shipped from San Antonio to Garland because it was ONLY available at the San Antonio location, so I had to find someone to take me to San Antonio that Wednesday afternoon from Dallas, traffic was so horrible that I was late to the appointment which cost me a hotel night stay so I wouldnt fall off to sleep on the way back to Dallas. Not to mentioned it took CarMax 5 days to refund me my transfer fees. CarMax needs to find a better way to help satisfy their customers, especially those who are inconvenienced beyond their control.
My first contact was with JOE. He was very helpful and courteous.My second contact with a lady from the business office the next day. She was courteous and efficient.I have dealt with CAR MAX before and was treated very well both times; It is why I came back to CARMAX to sell an extra car.I am quite sure I will come to CARMAX when the time comes to trade in my current car for another one.

Selling the truck was a pretty good experience. They were quick and efficient. I thought the price offered was a little low but there were some interior repairs needed. Decided to accept the offer and we went back. Both times, they were pretty quick and business-like. The representative, Joe, checked on us in-between visits, was friendly and helpful. We had had a prior bad experience with Carvanas online appraisal process and chose Carmax for the in- person experience. They were good about paying instead of trying and trying to get you to trade-in instead. Good experience. We recommend.
I had an appointment with all the required documents ready so I could sell my vehicle, but the experience still took 4 hours. They had turnover during my transaction and had to restart the process. In their defense, it was busy, but I feel like the employees were not organized enough. Everyone was nice and professional.
I had posted my experience before and I see it was removed so here it is again.We went in to sell our SUV. I checked KBB and several other sites before going in. When I got the offer I was mor than disappointed. More than 5K below private seller value. I realize all dealerships make a profit on used cars but really. They also make aton off interest as well as money down. Just wanted a fair amount for our car and definitely did not get that. We are selling private party and I recommend the same for others before doing this.
I arrived mid afternoon to find a 3 hour wait for an appointment. Looked around the lot for about 45 minutes and was called to say they had an opening now. The selection was excellent and prices were right on. Financing was quick and easy. The associate was more than helpful and knowledgeable. Very easy car buying experience.
I would not recommend taking your used car to this place. I highly recommend if you have a used vehicle do not take it to this place unless youre willing to get into a vehicle with 15 to 20% interest.
Got appraised and bought another vehicle at a different Carmax, but took my truck into this one to get infotainment updated, key fob and brakes checked out within 2 weeks of buying the truck and they are checking it all and fixing it all for free. Great customer service, very clean and tidy building. Plenty of accommodations while waiting

Carmax takes the stress away...I know everyone thinks if I sold it on my own I would get a few more dollars for my car (and yes, you may)...however the stress of listing the vehicle, meeting with buyers (dealing with the whole back and forth process, ugh)...those few dollars are not worth your time and safety......you get fair trade, one-stop, and then go to dinner...

Getting the check took a little longer than I was told but overall I was very happy with the process.
The worst car buying experience of my life. Low inventory, high price, 3 major body defects and an 1 outstanding recall. I was scoffed at for wanting a test drive and again for pointing out a wobbly stick shift (entire apparatus had to be replaced). Salesman gave me the whole speech about purchasing a warranty BUT NEGLECTED TO TELL ME IT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN SELECT CITIES. It spent an entire week in THEIR service shop and came out with 1/4 problems fixed. one I have to fix myself and bring them the receipt for reimbursement. I sent a complaint by email to which was ignored.
My first Car Max purchase was so easy! I found the car, my daughter test drove it because it was in Florida, I paid shipping to Texas, went in paid and picked up the car! I will be a repeat customer.

I’ve always had positive experiences with Carmax in the past and this time was no exception. I made an appointment to sell my vehicle to them, even though I’d already purchased a newer vehicle elsewhere, and the entire transaction was seamless. As I was honest with the condition of the vehicle I was selling, they offered me the same amount I was quoted online which I was more than happy to accept. The appropriate paperwork was filled out and I left with a check in hand not long after. I had a very positive experience overall and will definitely keep them in mind when I look to replace another vehicle in the future.
It was so great my experience went from bad to amazing just in one day thanks to Javier Teran. He was so great he made sure we were taken care of, he gave me information about the car when the last sales man we talked to didn’t, he made us feel comfortable and more. I will for sure refer my friend and family to him and only him because I would want my family to have the great experience I had.

I had so many issues with CarMax when I was told my BMW I3 was at their location since it was shipped from California. I arrived and the car having no gas or electric charge on it so they had me sign and everything super quick to do that right. But when I test drove the car no charge and 14 miles of gasoline when I brought up the issue isn’t it suppose to come with gas and a full charge they said yes and they were going to charge it and put gas but then they said they don’t carry premium petrol for the bmw and I could just go put gas around the corner and about the car not being charged I asked why isn’t it charged before you sell this to me we can charge it for you they said and I told them it isn’t a quick charge unless they have a DC charger, they said we have your charger we can plug it in here and told them now i have to wait 14 plus hours and that defeats the sole purpose that’s just the beginning of the issues. Main one was sending out personal info from my co-signer and I to the address I told them to not send it too cause they steal his mail all the time cause he’s at work all day Mon-Sat like I told them not to cause they said they could send it to the CarMax where he lives to sign on the spot and send it back they called me to say they sent it to his address and there it happens the paper work with all of our info social and addresses and where we work were taken from his porch now we have to worry about possible fraud hitting our accounts once something pops up that isn’t normal on our accounts we’re looking to sue for negligence now that I filed a complaint to their manager and told him the same ordeal even he was shocked that it didn’t get sent to my Co-signers CarMax location and apologized for inconvenience like I told him if something happens to our information that effects us I’m going to come back as the same unhappy customer when i left the first time. This was suppose to be smooth sailing from the beginning I thought. So Would I get another car from CarMax, just not at this location everything was handled improperly and do it yourself and release personal info to the public did I mention this was last month by the way

Youve got to love the choice of vehicles usually for sale, but when I was there, %90 of them had signs that said not for sale right now.
I paid to have a vehicle shipped to me and when it got to the store they removed the hold on the vehicle and allowed someone else to purchase the vehicle. The whole process was disturbing.I ordered the vehicle to be delivered to my home. By choosing this option, it was my impression that everything could be done electronically. This was important to me because I work out of town and also because I wanted to take safety precautions to protect everyone involved. After I submitted everything, I got a phone call from someone asking me all of the information I had already filled in online and did yet another credit check. This person then told me Id still have to go into the store to sign papers in order to purchase the vehicle. I spent hours on the phone with this woman to find a timeline that worked with my work schedule. I was told that it would take 21 days plus a few extra for the vehicle to be ready for me to purchase. I was ok with this timeline.The vehicle made it to the store and was ready over two weeks ahead of the time I was told it would. I immediately called the store and then spent, yet again, hours on the phone fixing this (or at least I thought). A lady from the store, not the call center, then scheduled me a day that worked for my schedule to come into the store and pick up the vehicle. All seemed well.About 1 week before the scheduled appointment, I called to see if I could come in a few days sooner because I was going to be in town a few days earlier than I initially thought. I got the run around. I was on the phone and on hold for hours yet again. The call center agents kept trying to reach out to the store supervisor, Austin Mertz, because apparently they could not see the vehicle. I called numerous times. I was told that Austin Metrz would call me back so many times Ive lost count; he never did.The last time I called, I decided to select a different option from the automated system which got me to someone at the store instead of the call center. It was then that I learned that the car that I had paid to ship to me was being shipped to someone else and there was nothing that they could do about it. The man told me that the hold was removed from the vehicle on the very same day it arrived to the store and that the whole time everyone could see/ purchase the vehicle. I then emailed Austin Mertz to express my disappointment, till this day I have not received any response, no apology, or anything from the store.I would leave 0 stars if I could. I have purchased 4 vehicles from CarMax. I was about to purchase my 5th vehicle which would have been the 2nd from this store. It was the worst experience that I had ever had.

I enjoyed the car buying experience with CarMax, it was pretty straight forward. Great car, and slightly below blue book pricing too! Salesman was knowledgeable and friendly. The only disappointment was the make ready. They made sure the car was clean on the out side and the tires were shiny, but the inside wasnt even fully dusted and it still needed to be vacuumed. I would have asked then to do it again, but was in a hurry to get on the road... Overall though it was a good experience.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I did an online offer to sell my car. When I arrived they told me the whole process would take 45 minutes but it took almost 2 hours. Their customer service is horrible. I had to keep asking about the progress of my offer and each time they said it would be a few more minutes which was incorrect. I would not recommend selling your car here. The only reason I sold my car here is because I didnt want to do a private sale and thought it would be easier to sell here which was not the case. Dont waste your time selling your car here.
