This coffee shop is always busy. Anthony Bourdain once said if theres a long line it must be good.....but I dont really think it was!!! The Customer service in the drive thru was great but the product itself.....not so happy. The horchata coffee was horrific. I took one sip, spent twenty minutes trying to get my face to go back to normal, it was stuck in stank face....after a while I tried it again, just to make sure, and yup...had to trash it. The unicorn no coffee milkshake was good and the pecan square was delicious and very wholesome not sugary at all, the 3 stars is literally for the pecan square. I got a vegetable quinoa bowl for like 6.something and I felt like I bought a bowl of quinoa....small pieces of cucumber a few baby tomatoes and some feta cheese I think it was. The cheese was the best part but I just felt like it was just the biggest bowl of quinoa. Came with a little side sauce which was good but clumpy.
I really wanted to like this coffee spot because I love everything they stand for; but the customer service was off and one of the drinks we got was awful. My friend was buying my coffee and a hat, coffee, and mug. She is a physician for the ER and didnt get the first responder discount. She had her badge and the man still wouldnt give her a discount? Our total was over $80 worth of merch and coffees. We ended up returning one of the coffees because it tasted so bad. The almond milk was not good at all.
I have been wanting to try this place for some time now and finally got around to checking them out. I love the concept of a business that supports our veterans, law enforcement, first responders, etc. The cafe itself is a good space to sit down and drink your coffee, work, study. Be warned there is a fair amount of merchandise surrounding you as you enter but if you truly want to support this business than it need not bother you. We tried a cappuccino & caramel latte (both hot) and enjoyed them. The cappuccino did have a malty smell that took a bit to get used to. Ended up grabbing a bag of whole beans of their Thin Blue Line roast and we tried that this morning. Great tasting roast, bold yet smooth, with the slightest hint of smokiness at the end. Overall enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back to explore their menu further!
Love this place! They support the Veterans, & First Responders. They are very personable & do not treat the customers like a mass production. I would like to recognize Jacob who took the time to assist me on picking out different coffees for my family in FL. as Christmas gifts. He explained different flavors, asked me questions to determine what my family members would like. I greatly appreciated the individual customer service. Especially from a coffee shop. You dont ever get that from another one. And for that reason, & others thats why I go to Black Rifle. Thank you & God Bless!
Visited 7/26/21 for a coffee date. Great concept, decor and themed merchandise. The shop was very busy mid day. Parking was ample but every spot taken and the drive thru was busy. Convenient location right on Hwy 281 and near lots of shopping, restaurants and businesses. Staff was friendly. The hot chai latte I got was delicious, very spicy and left a tingly sting down my throat. There were various seating options inside, tables out front and even an enclosed dog park by the front entrance. Glad to have visited and look forward to going again. Highly recommend.
It was our first visit to Black Rifle and it was really busy. I have had the coffee before but had never stopped at their stand alone shop. My wife and I both had their white mocha and it was tasty. Also purchased a box of their Lava Panther K-cups and had some Sunday morning. Good coffee and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back. Also as a side note they offer a small discount for Military and first responders which is greatly appreciated. Thanks Black Rifle.
I was amazed to find a brick and motor coffee store from a brand I recognized. To top it off, the selections were more than I expected and the staff explained them to me professionally. I’m no connoisseur of coffee but I drink plenty of it to know what I won’t pay for. I’d pay any day for the selections I had and will have.
Freedom coffee. Biggest complaint is the parking lot. It is just too small. Pastry, sandwiches, and especially the coffee are top notch. Highly recommend this place.
First time here and was very impressed. The employees are phenomenal, they provided the best customer service Ive received in a long time. The line was very long but moved relatively quickly. The coffee was smooth and DELICIOUS. Food was fresh and tasty. Will definitely be returning.
I am a long time coffee club member and I recently got to experience the in person drive thru. I am so obsessed with their ground coffee and I go through two bags a month. The drive thru seemed to work similarly to Starbucks just with the amazing black rifle flavor that I love. They also give a military discount and regularly contribute to bettering the lives of local veterans. Love this place.
Late night coffee stop, American owned, environment is friendly and quite patriotic, and pet friendly. Fun add on products too. Stray from the norm and try them out!
Didn’t even know they had brick and mortar stores till this morning when my wife surprised me going there. Been buying online many years. Store was not super large, but had tables and a huge drink selection. Mugs, t-shirts and stuff! Not much in the was of sandwiches and stuff, but hey it’s black rifle, don’t come here for fritters and quiches. K cup selection and prices were great and service was excellent.
The experience of going here was pretty good for the first time. However the sizes that you pay for the price need to be managed better. The Google reviews clearly have the prices established in the pictures. I had to pay a dollar extra for sweetener. Really?! I was very happy to be a patron at the establishment for its first week open. I had no problem buying the merchandise and the pod coffee! I will wear the merchandise proudly. However, I think pricing is not commensurate with the size that you get, especially todays times when people are looking for value for their dollar. People are giving you their disposable income for your product. I may go back in if I happen to be in the area, but I dont know. The calling out of the customers orders needs to be more efficient. When youre crowded, the call out for the customers name and needs to be very loud for people to hear it in the back of the store. You had way too many drinks sitting on the counter with no customers names, and very friendly but very busy employees were doing their best to get the orders out. I love the fact that you guys have moved to San Antonio and made this place your home.I love supporting any and all veteran-owned businesses. But please, rethink your pricing.
My order was lost and it wasn’t until I walked to the front and asked the one guy who was already very busy to make it. He did once I asked but he had no idea what happened to the original order.Manager made a point to call me after (I filled out the review from the receipt). I appreciate the personal touch from the leadership there.
Love this place!! Even if you don’t like coffee, get their sweet tea, it’s my go-to!! This is a place where you could stay for hours just studying, being productive, and chilling. Staff is always super nice and I love their selection of fresh food in their fridge section! They have salads, sandwiches, fruit, and drinks! Highly recommend this place!
A great coffee shop atmosphere that is perfect for studying or just meeting up with friends or colleagues. One of the few places in San Antonio one could go to to sit inside during the pandemic, so they have my full support here on out. Coffee is clean and not bitter. Caters to a conservative crowd though in no way limited to only that. Just a different vibe from those looking for an alternative to Starbucks who seems to be in full on ultra safe mode and has not been a place to study or sit inside for over a year now. Definitely worth a look. I’ve yet to meet anyone I’ve brought there that was disappointed.Keto Crack looks like Large Cold Brew with Heavy Cream and 4 pumps of Sugar Free Vanilla. The beat I ever had made is always always here!
This place has the best coffee and staff. So much better than Starbucks by far, I recommend them to everyone.
Good coffee. Veteran owned. Much more economical then Starbucks.
Great coffee and a great way to pay back our vets too. Super friendly staff.
Love the service! Great coffee. Our dogs look forward to their pupichinos.
I have become so obsessed with this coffee shop that I’ve started Customizing everything I own black rifle! My girlfriend used to get Starbucks all the time, but this is her new favorite coffee shop, and she really enjoys the tea as well. I would love to either work for the coffee shop or corporate! Regardless, atmosphere is fantastic, and the coffee SLAPS around competitors. Love this place, and wave me down if you see me on the road!
Great place great staff and even better prices . Highly recommend them over Starbucks any day
Really great coffee place. But the employee Tiffy made it exceptional! I had an out of town guest who is a big fan of the apparel. Tiffy not only told us some great information about their locations but she also made him a special coffee drink that he really liked. Fantastic service and great atmosphere.
Love Black Rifle. They have great apparel and the coffee actually taste like coffee. They are also Veteran Owned which I love. Great company all the way around. This place also has a dog park on the back patio which is an added bonus 😀
The staff is great! It was pretty busy but the drive thru was moving quickly. I went in the store to look at their merchandise. They have a good selection of their coffees and merchandise. Checkout was quick. They offer a military and first responder discount also. I left them a healthy tip I hope you do also.
Best coffee shop in Texas! Ran by amazing staff! Barbie helped making my first time here amazing! Cant wait to come back tomorrow!
So I have been wanting to try this new coffee shop since its opened and today I finally got around to doing so on my way to hobby lobby. I was very impressed with their menu, everything from an iced coconut creme tea to a hot mocha latte. I am a HUGE fan of cold brew but wanted something chocolate to drink and a pastry today. I drove up to the menu and the first thing that caught my eye was a MOCHA COLD BREW, which isnt something you see at most places just yet! They dont have too many sweet treats there but, enough to catch your eye. The cold brew is excellent, the breading for the danish is melt in your mouth delicious and the customer service was wonderful! I dealt with two ppl while ordering, both were knowledgeable and extremely friendly! I want to lastly add that the pricing is very reasonable as well. I was honestly expecting Starbucks prices and was shocked/happy it wasnt as expensive. Not to mention, at the bottom of the receipt they give you a link to fill out their survey to get a free drink at your next visit. I recommend trying Black Riffle if you are in the area and if it isnt obviously, Ill definitely be returning to try more.
This location having a drive thru is genius! I saw Starbucks a few yards away with only a couple cars and BRCC had a full drive thru. The cashier was cheerful and friendly. It wasnt quick but the time it took was reasonable (less than it would take at Starbucks). I got a honey latte, which was too sweet, but Ive had a caramel latte from them previously and it was great. Im a big fan of their espresso. And l learned that they are a franchise - l hope they grow and open more locations because we need a good coffee franchise in SA.
I can’t say enough great things about the crew. Went in today with my wife and daughter Maggie to find the crew battling through getting orders ready while one of the espresso machines was broken. Even with that everyone was cheerful and helpful. Maggie even got to meet Tiffany and says thank you for giving her Papa a birthday gift.
Always the best service and one of the few places this Veteran feels appreciated.
Great coffee Great service and staff & veteran owners and ran
For Veterans, by Veterans, This coffee shop has it all. From strong to kinda strong caffeinated beverages to breakfast to sandwiches, they have you covered. Additionally, their workers are the best I have seen. Support a Veteran and try this place out—it’s a win-win!
One of the few businesses thats true to its ethos... Unapologetically American with a no-nonsense approach to a great cup of coffee. Its the first corporate coffee/retail shop of its kind for the company- and with a new small business venture there will be some hurdles and refinements on efficiency, sure, but it comes with a tenacious desire to make a name in a big market for veterans and grow a culture that puts duty, family, and country first. They have a clear vision and are driven by giving back to those who sacrificed so much to protect our way of life and the freedoms we enjoy. Theres a program where every bag of coffee purchased gets a bag sent to our servicemen and women overseas, and I want to say over 100,000 bags were sent last year, not to mention the countless drops and donations given to fuel local police and fire stations and first responders in hospitals throughout the Covid response. They are on a mission to hire veterans and those who share the same views and support them, but theres no political agenda and people of all backgrounds come together here- its laughter, coffee, friends, family, and our best four-legged companions. I love the Nitro Cold Brew for on the go, and if you pick up some C♠️F or Blackbeards Delight I promise you wont be disappointed. And what is Black Rifle Coffee Company? The greatest coffee company in the world, pfffft. Wait, what was the question again? Sorry, I blacked out on freedom. 1-T M.B. VP.
Two stars for such a beautiful spot to grab coffee. If only the coffee was as great as the ambience - which is perfect for researching, catching up on work emails, or even taking virtual Zoom meetings. The staff are very helpful when explaining their drink specials; however, my order turned out wrong. I spent $25 even (that included a great tip for two large incorrect iced coffees). Would I visit and order coffee here again? No. Its simply not worth it. In my opinion, for more reasons than one.Covid-19 precautions were up to par; however, the parking lot of this business is very inconvenient. Not everyone owns a compact vehicle - I felt like I had to keep an eye out on my BMW.Photo Credit to the beautiful and most amazing photographer I know RosalineVMMC 📸❤
Stopped by on my way back to Houston, it was so good! The staff was great, they were very kind. My drinks were done very quickly, did not have to wait long for it. Yall should definitely make a shop in the Katy/Houston area. I would definitely go every day on my way to work.
Great coffee! Love what BR stands for. Great ambiance, what else can you ask for?Today they had a bad attitude, doesnt make me want to come back :-/
Great coffee place! I grabbed a sweet tea for my son, a decaf pour over for me, two hot chocolates and a mocha for my girls, and an americano for hubby. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. The only decaf available is pour over, which I don’t really understand because they could use those beans to make espresso. Yet, they say only decaf pour overs. 🤷♀️. Service is a bit slow, but that’s okay, because they make the drinks correctly. Also, I grabbed a bag of whole bean ak47 for hubby to make espresso with at home. It’s really good! They had a few “coffee or die “ shirts left, mostly in larger sizes.
So, Sad that this place has not been able to find good help. Went through drive through. Ask about the Cortado. Person on the speaker helped me get it ordered. Got to the window and a different person helped me (“AB”). AB tried to give me something I did not order. When I tried to point out the difference, I was basically told too bad. I went in and tried to talk to manager, but one never appeared.Too bad for BRCC. If I could return the merchandise I purchased, I would.——-Original review: Lets get started with what matters... coffee.BRCCs coffee is WAY better than Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or San Antonios Local Coffee company! I have visited several BRCC locations and their coffee is consistantly great. Now, lets talk about the bad. Their prices are very high and their cups are very small. A medium looks like a small, and the large is barely the size of a medium. (When my hand easily wraps around a large cup of coffee... that is just too small) You also pay a premium price for small cup of coffee. Then they nickel and dime you to death. I just paid $1 to add a little bit of vanilla to my coffee. When I am paying $4 for a little cup of coffee; dont insult me by charging me another $1 for sweetner!!!Their building is super nice, but their location is hard to get too.Summation: A great cup of Joe, but because of the small cup sizes, I will only occasionally be stopping at BRCC. What a shame... They almost did it right.
I went around 1330 on a weekday. Easily seen from main intersection, but there was no parking in their lot available. There is a shopping center on one side or a Chipotle on other available. They do have a drive thru.Counter service was friendly and quick. Drinks were very good, as usual. Its my first time to the store and really liked the layout. Plenty of merch there by the counter to peruse, and all their different bags of coffee to learn about and purchase. That section acts as a buffer between the counter and seating, which made the inside seating feel more private, non restaurant. It was busy and close to full inside, where the window counters were full of people working on their laptops 😀 and different seating arrangements in main area.We stepped outside to sit, along Bitters, and I was surprised how little I noticed the traffic. It was a sunny day, but not unbearably hot, so there were many outside as well. It was a great visit. Gotta thank the guys for putting a team together to make a coffee shop like this.If you arent a monthly subscriber yet, what are you waiting for? Cold/Hot, Flavored/Not, they have it all. Be sure to check out their podcast too.
I came there to use the internet so that I could study for a real estate license, but I couldnt connect. I asked the people at the counter and I think they said that someone was coming to fix their connection. Other than that, its a nice place to hang out and drink some coffee.
Coffee is on point love it, staff in the morning are super friendly. All around an awesome place to get your coffee from in the morning.
The coffee tastes great. No harsh after taste just a great clean taste. The staff was very friendly and made great recommendations. Love going here for my morning coffee on the way to work.
Had a Very Pleasant experience going to Veteran owned Black Rifle Coffee Company for the first time. You could smell the fresh coffee as soon as you get out of your vehicle. The store has a nice industrial look from the outside. On the inside it looks like an old time country store with a military flare to it. The napkins and coffee cuffs station is the tail gate of a vehicle. The pick up spot to get your coffee is an ammo box. The design of the fixtures and displays was well thought out. Plenty of displays that offer apparel and Coffee containers. The doors leading to the outside patio are incredible. Theres a pet yard for your service animal that has a water station. Restrooms are unisex and handicap accessible. The Brew Crew was fast and efficient on their customer service. The coffee was hot, fresh and delicious. They sell cans of Ready to Drink coffee also. Two flavors-Expresso with Cream and Expresso Mocha. My favorite is the Expresso Mocha. It tastes like a combo of Yoohoo drink and coffee. Very delicious and addictive😉! Theres plenty of tables inside and out to sit and enjoy your coffee. Theres even a sitting area with a fireplace, sofa and chairs. If you like coffee, you need to try Black Rifle Coffee Company. You may just find that its your new favorite coffee spot. To the owner and the workers of BRCC, Thank You for Your Service! 🇺🇲
Very friendly staff and really good coffee. This is officially my new coffee shop. Hands down the best Ive tasted in a long time.
Nice atmosphere to sit down and have a coffee, ok to do work tho. Music is more of a rock type playlist, but it fits the theme. These also gave very comfortable couches and a chess playing area. Coffee is really good, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The accidentally made a mistake with my order so they gave me two coffees. Overall great experience, would come to do work again.
Good coffee. But service wasnt the best. Not on the day I went.
This is absolutely the best coffee shop in town. Veteran owned. Many coffee choices. Drawback: They have lots of parking spaces, but because they are so good, parking can be tricky. The drive-thru window is good. But if you bring your puppy, BRC has a fenced-in astroturf puppy patio as well.
I asked the barista for a large cup of the Kenosha Kid blend and Evan Hafer came out from under the counter and started swinging a skateboard at me while screaming about being pro-individuality. Just then, he broke into tears, and Mat Best burst through the door, swooping Evan up into his arms and carrying him out to his BRCC pickup truck and speeding off. It was a very strange experience. Would not recommend.
Great coffee! Very spacious! Great selection of coffees and tea. You can buy bags of coffee, cups, and shirts. They have outside seating. They also have food. 11/10 will buy more coffee!
Great service and amazing coffee! Im not a big pumpkin spice person, but their pumpkin spice latte was delicious and not overly sweet!
Fantastic coffee shop with an incredible rustic feel. Dog-friendly, veteran-loved, and kind to the bone.
Totally awesome place must check out exceptionally friendly inviting atmosphere staff very helpful and pleasant when you have to make the difficult decisions on what to order the menu has so much to offer and the quality is top notch and so reasonably pricedmakes places like Starbucks seem like vending machine coffeeIf you dont try BRCC YOU ARE THROWING YOUR MONEY AWAY!BRCC is the only place To go for the real deal on your coffee fixFor coffee food and gear
Awesome affordable coffee, great people and service. All for an awesome cause! Take some coffee home and a shirt or two! Also, if you need a pick me up. A nitro brew is the way to go!
The raspberry cream cheese pastry is amazing, the breakfast rolls are great, I usually get the mocha and am always satisfied. The staff are awesome people, real people, not the saccharin faces you see at the coffee shop two doors up the road.
I order the same drink every time I go here. I am always charged a different price. Sometimes Im charged for add-ons sometimes Im not. I finally asked why I am charged differently every time and I get a very unprofessional attitude from the girl at the drive thru window.I support this company and will continue to do so but please train your employees so theres some consistency in their work.Ill gladly change this review when this stops happening.
The coffee is ok.. about a dollar cheaper than starbucks.. nice that they give a military discount.. they arent very fast at preparing the drinks but Id hope that can improve.. will try their grounds too.. update, they only got slower and extremely unorganized.. one drink out of a order of two made 20 minutes apart from the other one, didnt get called out by name. Was sitting on counter for 20 mins while 5 ppl touched it, to check if its theirs.. if you ask for ppls names with the order you should manage to call out that name.. also dont make 10 coffees that got ordered after mine first.. thats just common sense
My favorite coffee company! Will forever get my coffee from here. It’s a veteran owned coffee company that also gives back to veterans.
Love this place! The drinks are more for tast then they are for show. Prices are perfect, and the people are cool. If it wasnt for me working at 230 am I would be there every morning. Hope to see other locations open up
If you like real coffee at an affordable price and it doesnt taste burnt... this is you place. Smooth coffee. Love this place.
The coffee is always perfect here. I love the breakfast buns too!
Our go to coffee shop, love the menu, great options. Service is always fast and servers are always nice! Can’t wait to go to the new location closer to us on Bulverde rd
Got the regular house coffee and cinnamon bun and pecan square. The coffee is better than the other chain Coffee House. The pecan Square what is like a slice of pecan pie and was very good. Cinnamon bun was a bit dry. Most importantly into coffee chain that seems to hold the same ideals I do and I prefer my money to go to them.
Excellent coffee. Great atmosphere. Friendly service.
Coffee was delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.
Great experience. Friendly staff. Ambiance in the lounge are is chill. Only complaint is Mat Best was nowhere to be found.
Great cold brew and cool atmosphere. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. They also had a little dog park.
Very nice, clean and seems to be popular coffee place in the area. Tried the Horchata and wasnt impressed, but loved the Sweet AF Tea and would get more. Sparking lot was a little weird or cramped, but overall good place. Next time we are in TX will def stop by again. Maybe one day they can bring one to AZ.
Best coffee on the planet. Also very friendly and quick service. We need one of these in Georgia.
Awesome! I fully support any company that also supports police, fire, and military. Their drinks are 😋 noice! Stickers and shirts are on point too
