Small, cute interior. Sparse decorations, but tries to live up to the third-wave coffee vibe.Got an espresso, the honey lavender latte, and the coffee old-fashioned.The espresso came with tonic water. The espresso at the time had notes of blueberry, nuts, with a bit of floral. Tasted like a medium roasted Ethiopian. The flavor was not intense, but the finish lasted long. The honey lavender latte was surprisingly not sweet. We got it with oat milk so perhaps the lavender was subdued by the oat. Still good. Not sure if it was worth $4.75.The coffee old-fashioned was an interesting concept. Tasted medicinal and the presentation was nice with a large ice chunk and orange peel. Not so much fig notes or woody notes, despite the components. Very orangey, watery, vitamin gummy bear. Perhaps not worth $8.Overall, good experience and drinks. Value was okay. 4/5
When I first moved to SA I resided in the St Paul Square area and went to this place almost every day. I miss it!! Still the best coffee in SA I have had so far. The roast and brew is perfection every time, and high quality plant milk used too. Additionally, I enjoyed the mini quiches they carry. They only downsides would be perhaps limited parking and outdoor space, but that is a limitation of the area in general.
This is absolutely a lesser known, San Antonio gem! I was recently invited for an early morning coffee meeting to Estate Coffee—a place I had never been before, and was pleasantly surprised by my experience.I am nowhere near a coffee caunesseur, but also don’t like going to the big name, Seattle coffee kinds. You’ll usually find me at more local coffee places, but oftentimes I find myself intimidated by a lot of them because again, I am nowhere near the coffee professional. What I loved:Local San Antonian owned—company is owned by a local San Antonio, furniture business owner, combining his love of furniture crafting into a really cool industrial coffee shop. 90% of the furniture in the shop are either repurposed or hand crafted by him! It’s really cool.Atmosphere—whereas, some other local spots are heavily populated by local coffee lovers and coneseurs, Estate coffee does not have this same intimidating feel. I have been 3 other times since, at different hours of the day, and it is never overrun with too many prying or judging eyes when I order a simple vanilla latte. The baristas are also very homely, kind, informative and welcoming. Masks are also required in this establishment, which I love. There is also a lot of windows that allow for a lot of sunlight and a homely feel, it’s awesome.Look—beware though, the shop is on the outskirts of downtown and does NOT have an outside sign. So if you are speeding or not looking, you may miss it! However, if you have passed the since-closed Spaghetti wear-house, you are going the right direction. Just slow down a little and the shop will be on the right next to “Broaddus Construction” parking. Again, it has a really cool industrial look in a repurposed abandoned building.Taste—I am your basic coffee lover. My go-to has always been a vanilla latte and have tried many big chain, gas station, and other local coffee places, but let me say. Estate coffee has the BEST tasting vanilla latte, hands down. That is why I got hooked after my first visit. It is NOT overly sweet or containing a heavier bitter coffee taste. It’s the perfect balance of the two and what honestly makes the drive from Alamo Heights all the way downtown worth it. My fiancé is also a big “black coffee drinker” and has already tried 4 different kinds and has loved them all. He is also very picky with coffee smell and taste, and is also hooked. Try the slow-drip!What could be better:Pricing—I am an Accounting and Finance professional, so of course supply and demand, location and market are all impactful to the bottom line and pricing. However, the only variant I feel could be reconsidered is pricing. As mentioned, my now-favorite vanilla latte can be purchased to go, but in a very small 6oz cup for about $6. And If you want a bigger sized (think grande-size Starbucks cup) cup, they don’t allow it. I had to finagle and coerce the baristas to charge me more for a larger size just because, “we don’t sell the latte’s like that”. I was charged 2 vanilla latte’s and a “to-go” fee which equated to about $15 for a grande size cup. If it were my first time trying and this was the case for pricing, I definitely would not have been back. The overall taste and ambience are good, but Please be open to more to-go size considerations and pricing considerations, Estate Coffee!
The Kentucky Smoke latte was amazing! Service was friendly and we had fun looking at all of the beautiful plants while waiting for our coffee. I appreciate that theyre still asking customers to mask up.
Delicious coffee and great window-front seating, only two things I would change if I could.Cleanliness: Several of the tables and the counter seating had pastry crumbs sprayed across them and had discarded napkins or used cups still sitting on them the whole time I was there.Parking: Theres a decent amount of street parking, but the dedicated spaces in front of the shop are very narrow and back up directly onto the street - if you drive an SUV or other long or large vehicle, park in the street and save yourself a bit of a maneuvering headache.
Great coffee - hot and iced. Enjoyed a savory breakfast quiche and chocolate chip scone. Just moved to the area and l’m happy to have found a quality coffee shop!
Back when I was at my downtown San Antonio office, I used to come here frequently during the pandemic. Decent coffee. I’ve just recently been back downtown and wanted to get some more coffee. I still understand the mask policies that some business choose to practice, even though there is a statewide lift on mask currently and vaccination efforts. Not trying to be a “Karen” about the mask, but I was asked if I had one and said no, although they offered me one, I just decided to politely leave. Immediately as I’m walking out, A woman with the mask hanging off her ear (not on the face) got a thing of coffee, picked it up from the counter, and walked through the shop no problem. The ladies working didn’t bother asking her or acknowledged that she wasn’t wearing a mask correctly. She must have been a regular. Again, coffee is decent, but the same expectation needs to be for everyone. Shame.
Cool little coffee shop. Could maybe use some decor or artwork around the walls but I’ll definitely stop by again! Got and iced tea and topo chico!
Awesome and hip place for coffee. Very low key, open space, minimalist vibe and no clutter. Great place to clear your mind or study with no distractions!
This place makes the best Cappuccinos in the area they are simply perfect.
Very good latte. A cute and cozy coffee shop. In the time we went it was so quite and peaceful. Everything about this made it a great coffee shop to come back to.
Excellent coffee, great service. Currently, you can order ahead online or go just inside the door, place your order and wait in your car for them to bring it out. When the inside is open, its a great place to enjoy your coffee. The entire storefront is windows and the interior is an uncluttered, clean space perfect for relaxing with your coffee and an actual newspaper or a book, although if you prefer to brush up on your news or a book electronically, its a great space for that too.
We just visited SA for 5 days, and thankfully, we discovered Estate Coffee right away! After that, we went back everyday that we could. Their lattes and cold brews were so good and high quality. This place is definitely a hidden gem! I had a honey lavender iced latte with oat milk, and Im still craving it! The staff was friendly, alert and helpful. The bamboo straws were a first for me, but they work just as good as regular straws. It was also convenient that there are a few parking spots out front!
Very hip place to meet up. Some might find it a bit too small, but it has room for study sessions or business meetings. You wont get any privacy due to the size but its clean and the coffee is absolutely incredible. Overall, this is as good as any coffee shop anywhere, its right up there with the best shops in Seattle. Americano is perfect, they roast the beans on site, very few places do this.
Quality coffee experience with expected menu options. Great shot, friendly, minimal, casual atmosphere with lots of window light. Will definitely be returning.
Great place to get away and have a perfect cup of coffee! Whenever I am in San Antonio, I make sure to go as many times as possible.
Unfortunately the staff was so unprofessional and rude we left before being able to try it. Went a few blocks away to Niche and the coffee was outstanding. Incredibly disappointed in the behavior of the young folks working there. Management has some work to do.
I love Estate Coffee Company! I probably visit a few times a month & always have a great experience. The atmosphere is inviting & the staff is very friendly + they always have awesome promotions & events going on. Its the perfect place to catch up on work, enjoy coffee with friends, or have a meeting.
Our first time visiting Estate Coffee company and we plan to come back the next time we visit San Antonio. The service was great and the coffee and pastries excellent. They have a small list of specialty coffee drinks with an eclectic feel, as well as tea and pour over coffee. I tried the Honey Lavender Latte and was very pleased with the outcome.
Great service and great coffee. Honestly, this is the only place I choose to drink the coffee black. If you get a chance? Try the old fashioned made with espresso (instead of booze). Youll love every sip.The place has brunch on Sundays, and it always looks incredible! Its also close to downtown, but feels like you are exploring San Antonio at the same time! Try it.
Decent drip, but 3$ for a small coffee (8oz?) Is pretty crazy. Wasnt offered a different size.
Great coffee and quick service. My only desire is for larger sizes!! Highly recommend the Dirty Chai Latte or Kentucky Smokey Latte 🤤🤤🤤
Estate coffee in my opinion is the only place to yourself quality natural processes coffee (I’m I big fan of the Ethiopian beans definitely recommend trying ). The customer service is top notch and website is easy to navigate with great prices. I’ve have no problem driving out 15 minutes out of my way to stop by for quality coffee
Ive had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back. The place has a nice atmosphere. Atmosphere is like a restaurant in Fort Worth I loved.
Super delicious! They even offer decaf products ❤❤
Gitcha covered wit radness of coffee but real game changer fer me was the connection wit a werld of spices. its so obvious, as be creatively brilliant. why isnt this bidness model more universal? noted!
Lovely coffee shop with friendly staff!
I like plants they have 🪴 🌿 I like coffee they have that too ☕
Estate is a staple for the East Side. They are located on Houston Street near the downtown area. The shop is beautiful on the interior - the owners filled the space with pretty plants and the front windows allow for lots of natural light. If you are further north, they have a mobile coffee stand called Sweet Pea that is adorable on Saint Marys. What I really appreciate about Estate is their commitment to their community. They are frequently engaged in a variety of events with their pop up cart - from art exhibits to community meetings. Great coffee - great people!
Service is prompt even when they are busy. Looking forward to a return trip. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I liked.
The service was very friendly and kind. the prices are well within reason for the quality. i can see why they have so many reviews.
Sweet moto! Great flavor in the drip just not as light n sweet as I need it.
Dont fret if its busy, it is worth the wait. Definitely worth going back to.
Had a very good experience year. Took only about 5 minutes for me took place in order and received my coffee so it was super efficient and quick and the staff was really professional especially during the time when the pandemic could lead to other situations. Would definitely come back.
Love the coffee here and the service is excellent.
This coffee place was within walking distance of an AirBnB I stayed in for the weekend. Nice place with a chill vibe inside. The staff was friendly and explained what the different coffees were like for my brother and I as we hadn’t been there before. We also tried a breakfast muffin that was kind of like quiche and it was delicious.
Visiting from Houston. Very unique coffee experience. We were referred here by a good foodie friend, and it did not disappoint.Very knowledgeable staff with a wide variety of drinks. We decided to order off the specialty menu. I got the cold brew cola (in the photo), and my wife got the cold brew shandy (cold brew and lemonade mixed with topo Chico, no photo). Both were very refreshing. My cold brew cola drink not as heavy as you would think. Very light and refreshing, and an interesting experience.Definitely will be back every time we visit San Antonio.
Absolutely LOVE this place. Great atmosphere and people, the staff is friendly. They know my order when I walk in and that makes me feel like they pay attention to what their customers like. I only have one suggestion and that is to make the sizes of their iced coffee drinks one size larger. I love Estate Coffee!!
Great coffee in a super cute spot. Great to bring your laptop or meet with a friend. The lavender latte is my absolute favorite (hot or iced). Try the pastries-- they source from excellent and very fresh vendors!
Loved the dirty chai!
This place has a very relaxing atmosphere! The drinks and pastries are really good. The people that work here is really friendly too. I would love to come back here one day.
Have been coming here for a month, it’s my new favorite spot. The coffee is great as same as the the bakery. They keep it clean and the employees are nice and quiet. This place is not over price for a hipster coffee shop. Highly recommend it!
Could not complain about anything that was presented within this coffee bar. From the outside it looks like a run down laundry mat. There are lots of space but when I went there was construction going on so space was a little bit limited. But the establishment inside is Woah. Staff is friendly and very patient, coffee is very good that makes you want to go back for seconds. When I visit San Antonio again I will make sure to visit this place again.
So glad I stumbled upon this gem! The interior is super nice with a clean bright theme. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and, most importantly, the coffee is excellent. Best drip coffee. My boyfriend and I agreed it was the best drip coffee weve ever had so it was our first priority the next morning to stop by again and grab some cold brew. If Im ever in San Antonio again, I will certainly be back.
Simple and cozy coffee place serving classy drinks. Excellent pour over and a vanilla latte that tastes like a dream. The building is charming. They also sell cool merch.
Cute coffee shop. Very clean, came to San Antonio to visit family, needed some coffee! Had a lavender latte. Was perfect. Thanks!!
Beautiful minimalistic design with many natural elements; relaxing; the perfect spot to read a book. I got the lavender and honey latte and it was as delicious as it was pretty to look at. If I were to order it again I’d ask for half the sweetness (just as a preference) but the flavors were excellent.
The owner and roaster are great guys! The place is extremely cozy and the coffee is always delicious. My fondest memory of this shop is getting a cold brew Arnold Palmer which was extremely freshens especially given that it was 90+ degree outside.
Coffee was outstanding! Had to get a bag of beans to go with me. It was nice to have a local fresh roasted cup of coffee. I had the vanilla latte over ice and it was fantastic, but I tried some of my friends hot vanilla latte and it was even better! If you have a chance stop by, you wont be disappointed.
Great newer coffee shop near downtown San Antonio. Very trendy and has the hipster feel if you will. Fantastic pour over coffee, good lattes, and wonderful staff who are personable and will chat with you. Very clean and nice looking inside and out. Great atmosphere for meetings, homework, and collaboration. This place will inspire the creative mind and make you feel productive with the crowd that comes in. One side of the shop has T-shirts, spices, and other miscellaneous but cool items to look at and purchase if you wish. They roast the beans in-house and will sell you bags of their own roasts. I love this coffee shop and will continue to come here.
My favorite coffee shop in all of San Antonio they have the best drinks any I’ve been too. Everyone is also super friendly
One of the many great coffee shops in San Antonio. This place stands out just for its unique location, and great atmosphere. Had an awesome cup of Costa Rican. This place is very reasonable and even a little bit cheaper than most coffee shops.
Unique coffee shop with Strong coffee. I wish I would have founded sooner in my 3 day stay their.
The employees are very friendly and helpful. Their locally roasted coffee is always delicious.
Small cafe right next to a popular stage that is across the street. Interesting but limited coffee menu. The coffee itself was great tasting and strong (at our request). Will visit again if we are in the area.
The place has a nice atmosphere.
I like it when a place specializes. At Estate Coffee you get what you came for ... Coffee ... really nice coffee. Various options to choose from. The venue is rustic ... very rustic. A few small tables are randomly placed and the young crowd is completely involved with their laptops, phones and iPads. The restroom needs serious attention.I am reminded of the expression life is to short to drink bad coffee. So true.
Really good coffee and pastries. I usually get the honey lavender latte and either a donut or a cinnamon roll. This place is always really clean and the employees are great.
Nice place with great coffee. Very clean and baristas are friendly. Not the best place if youre looking for substantial food options, but the lattes are super tasty and pretty strong, dont get more than one if you have a weak caffeine tolerance. Best of all, they have their own parking, I hate going anywhere downtown because of parking, but thats a non-issue at this place.
Friendly staff and a nice clean urban setting. Outlets around the area. These all add up to a nice study spot for me. Would highly recommend this to anyone in the area.
I came here with my girlfriend after reading the good reviews. The shops aesthetic is very nice but employees were a letdown. We were treated very indifferently but the group after us was greeted warmly. This pattern was repeated as I watched other interactions...very cliquey. The drinks were fine, nothing special, averagely overpriced for a more-or-less third-wave shop. The tables were dirty and the employees were just playing around on their phones when there werent customers up front. Internet worked well, if youre into that.I really want to like this shop and I have visited a handful more times to try again, all with the same experience regarding baristas. Overall a pretty-looking but mediocre spot. We have made a personal rule not to frequent independent places with smug hipster employees (very difficult to go out sometimes) but if you havent been or are a part of that scene its worth going once and trying.
Love this coffee shop. Always bring my out of town guests here to get a cup of coffee. Fantastic customer service. Thank you guys.
A great place to chill, meet or work. The coffee is great and, if you have it there, its bottomless. Great staff and service.
The music can be a little weird, but maybe I only feel like that since Im no longer a young hip person (Ha!). The atmosphere and customer service is good. Their loyalty program is neat.
Great coffee, cool space.
Superb coffee service thats incredible consistent. The staff is kind, the atmosphere is inviting, and no matter where I travel to, its wildly uncommon to find a cortado as hot and flavorful as Estates. Theyre the coffeehouse unicorn of San Antonio!
This was a great shop and reminded me of places in Portland. They roast their own beans, so make sure to stop by and take some beans home. Really nice folks working there.
Really fantastic coffee shop. Well done pour-over and espresso in an unassuming, central location. Ill definitely visit the next time Im in San Antonio.
Great Little Peaceful Coffee Shop to be. Staff makes U Feel both Right at Home & Appreciated. Have Amazing Coffee-Spices & Herbs. Do recommend anyone to come here & enjoy the Peace & Quiet Atmosphere.
Great location, coffee, service! In an older industrial area which makes the character of the cafe very unique. They roast their own coffee in small batches and have a variety of homemade spices and some great logo imprinted items (picked up a mug and a lb. of coffee). If Im ever back in San Antonio again, Ill be visiting!
Excellent traditional and specialty coffee. Cool souvenirs. Roasting done on site in shop. Unique setup. Only in operation since May, but leading edge and setting menu items to be copied by others.Primary green coffee bean supplier is small family owned farm in the highly sought after Huehuetenango Region in the Highlands of Guatemala. Also great coffee from Papa New Guinea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Brazil (decaf).Excellent brunch on Sundays but get there before they sell out...Locally owned. Dont miss it! Order online if you cant get there soon...
Really nice place! Was looking for somewhere to kill time in the San Antonio area and ended up here. Really friendly staff. Lots of natural light. I got an iced dirty chai and it was great!
I have tried many coffee shops this is arguably (or not rather) one of the best! The freshest beans and I know because i roast my own. Just simply amazing quality. We were in a road trip to Corpus and tried this place and were not disappointed! Why dont coffee shops all start with a fresh coffee bean? They nailed it. I only roast my beans for one week so they stay fresh and these beans tasted like they were pretty close to that range. I cant say enough, awesome coffee even for the coffee snob.
Watch and smell your coffee being roasted. I invite you to try the Lavender Latte. Lovely! The non-alcoholic coffee cocktails are fun. Pick up a canvas logo bag or mug while there.
Killer ambiance. Low-key the best coffee shop experience in San Antonio!
Great espressos. Kind workers. Adequate seating and working space. Outlets available for people working remotely.
Best of the eastside!
I am a hard-core coffee geek. I have a high-end coffee bar in my home and I roast my own coffee beans. I have no reluctance in saying that this is an excellent coffee shop that takes pride in their craft. I tried other recommended coffee shops in the area, but this is now my go-to coffee shop when I find myself in San Antonio.
Great and friendly service at Estate Coffee Company. Delicious coffee after CHURCH :)
