Their espresso is smooth and light. I liked their hazelnut latte - the flavor was nutty and pleasantly sweet. I visited twice in two weeks because the first time l went, l couldnt taste any espresso, but l saw they had such good reviews that l had to return. The latte was better the second time. This is a great spot for coffee if you live nearby.
This was our first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. We tried the pumpkin snickerdoodle bread slice and had the very nice lady at the front surprise us with 2 flavors for the coffee flights. This sampler thing is the best idea ever and I wish more coffee places did this! Excellent way to share with someone or get a nice sample selection of their menu. The inside was very cozy and felt very welcoming. Im not from San Antonio but, next time I visit I will make sure to come back here!
Awesome employeesThe staff is great. They are very informative, not just about the restaurant and menu, but the city as well. Everyone is relaxed yet on top of their jobs. They take the time to know their clients and regulars. The coffee is great and strong. If you love coffee, this is a treat! I was especially excited to try the horchata flavor, yum. The food menu is just as good. We loved the chorizo kalachi. I honestly would like to go back and try everything! There is indoor and outdoor seating, although most just grab their coffee and go. Theres only one restroom, unisex. It is luggage in a small strip center, but parking is still plentiful.
My husband and I dropped in and we got to chat with the manager and staff about everything! Such awesome people and amazing drinks. I love the fact that I was asking questions about certain drinks and she offered to make one for me to try (and get out of my bubble) and if not she’ll make my usual drink.Learning that everything is done in house from start to hand off really makes you appreciate what goes into every drink. We will definitely be back!
Incredible little coffee shop. The spot is small and cozy, but the seating is very comfortable and the music is not to loud. Most importantly the coffee is amazing. Their dark roast coyote drip coffee is simply amazing. Also tried their coffee flight, and had their Honey Almond, Brewchatta, Coco-RA-dachio and the Arnold Palmer Blue raspberry tea (half lemonade half tea). Wow. All the drinks besides the Brewchatta were incredible. The brewchatta was good, but in comparison to the other drinks it was okay at best. My favorite by far was the Coco-Ra-Dachio. Sweet and chocolaty, tasted like a smoothie.
This is my favorite coffee shop. They roast their beans in-house and have fantastic pulls every morning. Staff is skilled and friendly.
I absolutely love this place!! Best tasting coffee out of anywhere in san antonio
Not a Starbucks person by any means!! Just moved to town and was looking for new local coffee place happen to stumble on this one literally 2 mins from my house and I LOVE IT! staff are nice, and friendly and do a decent job of remembering you quickly which was nice. Shop gets busy which shows you coffee is good...which it was love the taste of their beans 😋
I love Sarah and Alex great place, delicious healthy options.
Ditch that Charbucks and come get some fresh in-house roast at Medina River. Lavender coffee? Yes please. Coffee brewed with cinnamon like your abuelita used to make? Umm, yes. We just got into town last night and spotted the locally owned spot on Google maps, its a full blown winner! Parking is tight since this place stays full, since people recognize greatness. Believe that this superior bean juice is worth it.
This place is so delish!!! They greet you so warmly as soon as you come in and they are so patient if it’s your first time (like me). I got a coffee flight and i was so surprised at how much I loved the honey lavender! It was subtle without being soapy lol. Refreshing. The s’mores cookie is a must….bc helloooo, marshmallows. And then after I was done, one of the baristas came up to me and asked me how everything was and which was my favorite. Definitely my go to when I come to San Antonio. I loved the hospitality, the interaction, the service, and most of all za coffee wepah!
As in most coffee places, the smell is awesome upon walking in. They offer pastries as well, which looked delicious.Bought 3 pounds of whole bean coffee, and all of them were delicious. Only neg: When buying bulk coffee, they do not have a menu for you to look at. Granted there are only 6 single source and 3 blended coffee beans to choose from, however, it would have been nice to see what they have available in printed form without having to resort to my phone.
This is by far one of the best (if not THE best) coffee shops in San Antonio. I drive over 20 miles to partake in their unique, culinary, coffee concoctions and pass probably a dozen Starbucks along the way. Allison, the general manager, ...its beyond that shes friendly... she gets you. She has built a team of dedicated, artisan baristas. Every drink on their menu is worth trying until you find your favorite. I have settled on an iced honey almond latte with soy and I honestly cannot get enough. You may be surprised at first when suggested to tip 30% for the Best Coffee Ever, but once youve tasted it you may wish you had done a custom tip and added even more to support these hardworking masters of the brew.
Barista offered advice with gusto and had tried lots of their coffee offerings, so she was knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy what she was doing. She was delightful! She helped me land on a combo flavor—marshmallow and cinnamon. I picked a Frappuccino for the type of drink, and it was super awesome! Not sure how much of the actual coffee a person can appreciate in a Frappuccino, but I loved the experience and the drink. Can’t wait to go back and get something plain, to experience the coffee itself!
This place is fantastic, easily has become one of my favorite coffee shops in the area. I love their iced lattes and the fresh kolaches, the chorizo egg & cheese kolache is my favorite. I once ordered a new coffee flavor and the barista made sure I tried it & that i liked it before I left, which I really appreciated! Every time I go in, they’re always so friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work!
My order here is super simple, just the drip coffee. Its always smooth and flavorful. Staff is nice, too.
I came in around 11:30am on a sunday. Wasnt super busy, but still had a stream of customers coming in. I ordered the caramel iced latte, and yeah in my opinion it was great! It wasnt super sweet, but still had a delicious flavor to it. The staff was nice and helpful, the place is small; most people are coming and going so thats not a big problem. Its not loud other than the machines they have working to make the goods. So Id say its a chill spot to do some work. Overall awesome place. Definitely will be coming again.
It was our first time coming to this place. The coffee was phenomenal! Your employee was nothing but great! Thank you for such a great experience. We will be making it a point to get our coffee there every Saturday!
Love this coffee shop! Great coffee and great service!
Great drinks and friendly staff. They also have very good pastries.
Very fast, even though store was packed, order was ready when I walked in to store
I have been awaiting the opening of this coffee shop since I saw the sign in place a few months ago. It was worth the wait! Medina River Coffee is conveniently located on West Ave, just around the corner from Churchill High School. It is a very welcoming space that offers in house roasted coffee from several regions and tempting baked goods.I had the pleasure of speaking with one of the owners during my visit, his passion for customer service and pride in this endeavor is evident. I look forward to visiting again soon.
Tasting flights are awesome. Loved the Salted Caramel.
Wow! What an incredible place for not only a great cup of coffee but a place where they have built strong relationships with their customers and have a community! Loved our experience here and will tell everyone to go check them out!
Coffee taste great! Actually, better than Starb***s. Youll like it!
What a awesome experience. These ladies are what everyone should stride to be. A welcome, great service. Will continue to come back. Customer priority you all are killing it.
Ordered hot mocha coffees on DoorDash and description stated it came with steamed milk and chocolate sauce.. well our coffees were pretty much black and disappointing. Only good thing was the bluebonnet kolache. Other than that I can’t say I would recommend.
Perfect spot to start the day. one of the best coffee shops in south texas. excellent service
The coffee is so good and the barista are always so nice
Super friendly staff, delicious drinks, and good prices. New favorite coffee place.
I just recently moved to San Antonio withing the last year and a half, I was overwhelmed at first by the all the different shops in the area. After trying quite a few places, I knew this place was the one for me, this goes beyond the amazing drinks and pastries they serve. Their staff is wonderful and helps create a very welcoming environment to all who set foot in the shop. They are always looking for ways to innovate their drink menu, something that when done right can yield a high reward. I feel this is a big hit as they just started doing ther coffee flights in addition to their normal menu. They get the community involved as they host Baker Saturdays which allow for local bakers to come in and showcase their goodies. All in all, MRC has developed quite a bit in the short time ive been here. I, being a coffee lover will continue to hop from shop to shop, but this place will hands down remain one of my favorites.
Stopped by for some coffee and to do some reading. Very friendly service and a really cool setup for a local business with some concha samples.
Love to have my coffee here. I have to say their coffee taste better than Starbucks yummy must try this place
Really great little coffee shop. I ordered from them using favor a few times before getting to actually going in, and Ive been missing out! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They happily suggested drinks and explained the specials they had.
Just picked up a cortado coffee with half and half and a small pinch of sugar.... D E L I C I O U S!. Im looking forward to going the Ethiopian, Guatemalan and mixed blend. My French press is gonna be impressed with me. If you like coffee, you will not be disappointed. Im glad I was in the neighborhood.
Todays visit was exceptional I even enjoyed my cookie out on the little table outside out front and the iron maiden shirt really made my day
Nice little coffee shop. Very clean and unpretentious. I was only there for a few minutes but I liked it. There was a woman before me who was asking questions and the two attendants were very friendly and helpful, something you want in a small coffee shop. I dont live around the shop but it seems like the kind of place that I would go to regularly.
Great vibe, nice looking place but the food and coffee there is where it’s at. 10 outta 10. Nice people too!
The coffees great and employees are awesome.
Amazing staff and baristas, friendly atmosphere, can dine in. The coffee flights were cool
A local roaster and bakery of sorts as well. The drip coffee does not disappoint! My kid lives the strawberry Fraps!
Best Latte Ive had in a long time outside of Austin. Check Medina River out for a great coffee experience!!
Just the cutest coffee shop, probably the best coffee I’ve ever had. Absolutely coming back to fill up my new growler!!!
Love the smell of roasted coffee beans.
Super adorable coffee shop. The staff is always so nice and patient. I try to go anytime I am on this side of town.
Nice atmosphere, good coffee, nice people!
Absolutely one of the best Coffee Shops in San Antonio. Drinks are very tasty. They sell some good tasting beans also. My go to Coffee shop.
Love IT!!!Coffee and tea section a plenty, atmosphere was calming and cool, the baristas were amazing. So friendly and nice!I love it here !!!
Weekly outside vendors on Saturdays as well. Looking forward to new ones each week.
This is the kind of neighborhood coffee shop where the baristas are friendly + kind, and the coffee is EXCELLENT. What more could you ask for!? 😊
One of my favorite coffee spots and they have evening hours!
PROS: this is a veteran locally owned small roaster. I will always try to support the local establishments especially during these uncertain times Vs a Starbucks. Loved the freshness of beans. Well done.Con:Ethiopian Beans were $4 more expensive Vs what’s stated online
I had a great experience here! The staff was delightful and the pumpkin chai latte was delicious. I recommend visiting this spot!
I ordered the cinnamon muffin and salted caramel macchiato. Best coffee shop coffee Ive had in a while!! Girls that were working were quick and friendly. ✌️
We are having coffee right now at Medina River coffee. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is the best, and our coffee drinks are stupendous. 5 Stars.
This is my new favorite local coffee shop! The staff are always so friendly, and the coffee is excellent.
First time, coffee was great, asked for a mocha, Almond milk with cyan and cinnamon to be added. Great blend. Really enjoyed the roast!
I love this place! Great environment, great staff and great coffee!
Great place to buy Coffee ☕and Cookies 🍪
Great coffee, awesome, friendly baristas! Better than charbucks! 😉 A must stop by
Amazing little spot! Coffee was phenomenal as well as the service. Muffins and cookies to die for! Do not leave without trying one!
Quiet spot with a great coffee selection and sweet treats.
Super cute place & very friendly staff! I had accidentally left my wallet at the shop, the staff had found it and were very helpful!
Flew in from Dallas and found this awesome place to grab a coffee and a pastry. All excellent! Really enjoyed the conversation with the co-owner about roasting coffee beans. Definitely coming back next time we are in town!
We came in and got a couple of the specialty drinks, which were very good. More importantly my wife came in a few weeks ago and got a pound of the Brazilian beans they had available (whole) it was outstanding, (and we ran them through the French press, stovetop pressure pot, and the Ninja, good all around) they werent as earthly as South America beans but stayed in the coffee flavor palate (my opinion) I dont care for African and Indian beans because they get too floral and fruity for my taste but these beans walked that line perfectly for my taste buds. Great find, great place.
Really glad I came across this place! The staff is friendly, laid back, and are excited about what they do.The coffee (Ethiopian medium roast and Columbian dark roast) was flavorful, rich, and not bitter. The atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. The furniture (from memory, so could be off): a couch, long bar like table along window, two normal round table (one is out front), two bar height round tables is comfortable and fitting to the environment. It was not overbearingly loud (you are actually able to hold a conversation without shouting), and the decor provided character without clutter and distraction.
Absolutely fantastic coffee, tea, and confectioneries. Im in love with their tea and get one almost every day, the quality of the leaves are impeccable and its 100% worth the money. Their Pumpkin Snickerdoodle bread is amazing as well, and their muffins are super delicious and fresh. If I could give 6 stars I would! Worth trying out, youll be coming back!
Quaint but great! These guys have a no frills approach to serving up great drinks and pastries without the stuffiness of so many other coffee joints!
Great atmosphere to go along with great coffee and awesome baked goods. The cookies are always so fresh. I love the creativity of the baked goods, especially the chocolate covered Oreos. You must try this coffee out and keep coming back
The service has been exceptional on every visit. The coffee is tasty. The ambiance is light. What more can you ask for?
Hands down the best latte Ive ever had. I dont remember the flavor I got but it was so delicious, its been 4 days and Im still thinking about it! Sadly I was there on vacation so I wont be able to go back any time soon. BEWARE, all coffee will pale in comparison once youve had their espresso. Super friendly staff, clean and inviting environment! If Im ever back in San Antonio, this will be my first stop for certain.Just want to add a little update: its been over a year now since I visited this place and its still the best latte Ive ever had.
I still havent been to this place in person but order from them about every two or three days off one of the meal delivery companies. Practically everything Ive had so far has been on point. Chocolate chip cookies are great, lattes are pretty good, and some of their other specialty drinks are fun break from the norm.
This was my first time here! I got an iced Almond Roca and it was delicious! The gentleman at the front made me feel welcomed and helped me with the menu! Cute and quaint little place, will be back!!
My fiancé and I stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago when we were looking for a pick me up after taking our dogs to Hardberger Park. Weve been back twice since!Cold brew is great on its own, but the flavors here are a must-try. The Almond Roca and Coco-Ro Dachio are our favorites. The staff there is incredibly helpful and accommodating to any specific needs. We like our coffee with just a splash of milk and the woman who has been there when we go has it down perfectly. Well be back!
1st time ordering from Medina and im super impressed. I suffer from anxiety(caffiene makes aniexty worse) I ordered the decaf Almond Roca it was absolutely deliciousious. Im writing this review because Ive never had decaf coffee in my life. Im a espresso, very bold, strong coffee junkie. But I know I cant have it anymore. The coffee was amazing. The driver that delivered to me was polite and masked when he arrived. Ill definitely be back for me. Great job. Cant wait to tey moreP.S. My husband loved it too
Really good afternoon coffee experiences. Friendly, helpful staff. 70s music nostalgia. Great tasting brews.
Needed a place to study, 1st time here. This place is great! Cute and cozy spot. Great pastry’s and chai tea
The best coffee I’ve ever had! Super friendly & knowledgeable staff, especially the GM!
Very nice and very good selection of products. Didnt eat any pastries but the smells were heavenly. Super nice people too. Look forward to going back tomorrow.
Small coffee shop, nice staff, pastries that rotate. The drink selection is fairly limited and a drink is about $5. They have free WiFi and limited seating with over couch, a coffee table, and about 10 bar stools, done around tables. I was there for over an hour in the afternoon and there were two other people that came in for coffee to go. The bathroom is a single stall, clean, and had a changing table for little ones.
I found out about this company from TJ Caplinger through the Next Door app. Not only was he quick to respond and provide great recommendations for what coffee to try, he hand delivered the coffee to my home. I just tried the Brazillian blend and its smooth, has good flavor and lacks those bitter notes you can sometimes get with coffee. I highly recommend this company for all your coffee needs. I cant wait to try more of what they offer.
Good coffee and good staff.
Great local coffee shop. Their coffee is roasted in house. I got a vanilla latte, which was nice and strong. The owner is very genuine and personable. Will be back again!
Friendly staff, great coffee. I had. Guatemalan dripb it was bold and flavorful. They are roasting the beans in house. You can see the giant red roaster from the counter. Should make for some really fresh brews. I will be back for sure, maybe to try the Ethiopian coffee.
I test new shops on their quad breve latte - absolutely delicious. And the service was sweet and smiley, too ☺️
Some of the best coffee I have had! The from the staff choice menue.. choose the cinnamon... it tastes just the way fall feels😊
