River City Donuts was here for 16 years. Kim is a very nice lady who always provided friendly customer service. The donuts were great, especially their blueberry cake donuts! Unfortunately, December 18, 2020 was the last day and this place has closed down for good.

Good donuts bad service. She didnt mind at all serving me without a mask. This lady was very very rude and didnt care to talk to me at all and was fighting over giving me a large paper bag to go. She was being very cheap like the bags were a dollar s piece when we all know theyre a few cents. Place was not that clean and it was like under construction or something. Sad to say even though donuts are good here it will always be the customer service and atmosphere that keeps people away. I definitely would not go back there because of her bad attitude. There are plenty I mean plenty of places to go with a better attitude for employees / owner!

Sad to say it will be our first and last time. No Air Conditioning (felt bad for the employee) my husband got the ham and cheese Kolache and I got the sausage and cheese. Tbe cheese looked like it was old and the ham was awful We did bring them home. I threw mine away. Donuts were just okay. I went by reviews and live down the road. We did go early in the morning no reason for 3 day old kolaches and day old donuts

I had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here. the bill was fair for the quality of the food. food is similar to a place in san francisco i loved.

Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. Prices are decent for the quality.

This is hands down the best place to get your kolache and donut fix.Make sure you bring cash!! You can’t beat the prices and how delicious everything is.Probably some of the fluffiest kolache breading I’ve had.I’ve never had a butternut donut before but it was delicious and now I get it almost every time.The chocolate and blueberry donut are more cake like but that’s why I love them, and if you want your traditional glazed, it’s fluffy and light.If you’ve never been, it won’t disappoint. The woman running the shop is always so sweet too, it definitely makes any morning better!

Sweet older lady that runs this shop by herself. Its right next to our house too. Even though you might get fancier donuts at Krispy Kremes, it feels good to support the local community.

Went there some years ago and was told they wouldnt honor the coupons we had. They claimed they were under new management. Very poor business practice to do that. No common sense there and have not been back. I told the oriental lady never mind and have never went back. Dosent deserve one star.

The donuts and coffee were yummy. She gave us a free one and it was good, but maybe a little stale? I think the Woman at the counter must have been having a bad day. She seemed a little mixed up, ringing up our order, and I think she short changed me $5. I dont think I did anything to fluster her, but she seemed out of sorts. I didnt realize the issue with the change until I got to the car, so I let it go. Just count your change before you leave, Im sure it was just an accident! Weve had a lot of rain and the roof was leaking, in the sitting area, so maybe she was stressed about that? I hope theyre doing ok, the donuts were delicious! ❤️❤️❤️

The lady behind the counter was blowing her nose and then said it was her allergies acting up. Never washed her hands. Never again. They got to do better.

This is my favorite donut shop as the woman that works there is very friendly and fast. Yes in the beginning she might come over as rude but she is very nice and if you give a two chances you will see that she just tries to help you as fast as possible. And when you come more than ones, she will remember you and chat with you. So try to go there twice and check it out.

Great place to stop on your way to work to pick up welcome treats for the gang. Staff greets the regulars by name and knows their preferences. Fast, efficient, friendly and great selection of sweets, kolaches and coffee. Be the hero at work or home when you arrive with the goodies!

I came here because I heard the donuts are really tasty, but I wish I had read that the customer service is terrible. Nobody likes an unpleasant encounter first thing in the morning. I ordered $3.16 worth of goodies and unfortunately didnt have cash on me. Poor planning on my part, and I said I didnt know about the $5 minimum. And she said in a hostile way There are signs everywhere! Sorry lady, its my first time here and everyone makes mistakes. I would have accepted even a curt Sorry, thats our policy. But no, instead, she thought to be condescending to me. So then I said I could come back with the cash and she asked abruptly, How long? And I just said as quickly as I can. So I went promptly to the ATM and then a different donut shop (Snowflake Donuts where the family is very nice and basically angelic compared to this woman).

I stopped by on a whim a few months ago and now drive across town for those damn breakfast croissants. Theyre delicious! The owner is always so sweet to me & greets me with a huge smile. She even gave me an extra donut!

This place was not good when we tried it. We usually go to Snowflake donuts down the road but they are closed on Sundays, so we gave River City a try. Their pastries were pretty terrible relative to our normal spot. Im shocked by the positive reviews of the apple fritters. This was the worst item of the bunch. The apple fritter was mushy inside, but covered in a layer of sugar so deep it was like eating rock sugar candy. The kolache dough was decent, but the meat was junk. The items from River City were a greasy mess and overly sugared. Two stars, because the server was nice, and she explained that she had failed to anticipate being so busy. I wouldnt go back, and I highly recommend Snowflake donuts down the road for superior freshness and quality.

First of all, the donuts are really good. Especially the blueberry ones. Glaze tends to be a bit crumply, but tasty. Good selection. Coffee isnt the best, but not bad, either. Mostly reasonable prices. I say mostly because for some strange reason, it costs more for a dozen cake donuts than regular. If you buy them individually or in a 1/2 dozen, they are the same price. But not the dozen.However, I only give two stars because of rudeness. Now, the lady wasnt outright rude, like turning her nose up at me or yelling or anything. Shes rude as a business proprietor. They advertise their hours online as 5am-2pm. They also have it on the glass in large letter stickers that they are open everyday from 5am-2pm. Yeah, not the hours they actually keep. They have also hung a sign in the window saying that they actually close at 1pm. In VERY faint ink. Opening time is still listed as 5am. Everyone sees the sticker sign clearly, but not the barely visible ink on the other sign. Today, I had a horrible case of insomnia, so about 5:30, I decided I might as well go grab some donuts while they are still fresh. When I arrived a few minutes later. They were not open. Irked, but with nothing better to do since I couldnt sleep, I waited. And waited. (Yes, there was already someone in there working in the back area. I could see him. And he definitely saw me.) Finally, the woman arrived and they opened at around 6:15, just as I was about to give up. When I went in, the lady did not apologize for my having to wait so long. She instead told me, in a very condescending manner, that they sometimes open at 6 instead. I refrained from pointing out that they advertise for 5 or that, even if they do open at 6, they were still late. I am sorry, but if you have a business and advertise very specific hours, you cannot just decide, Eh, I dont fell like going to work yet. It can wait. That is what is called false advertising. If there is an emergency or you are sick, I understand, but this was clearly not the case today. And for Gods sakes, dont act like there is something wrong with your paying customers for expecting you to keep the hours you claim to keep. Terrible customer service is what that is.Id say Im not going back, but those blueberry donuts are hard to resist. Even if I am fairly certain they are not as fresh as they claim. (Cant prove that one, but they do not taste as fresh as they should to me for having been supposedly just made. Just saying.) However, when I get the rare urge to go that early, I believe I will be going elsewhere. Preferably a business that opens at their listed hours and the donuts are so fresh they are still warm.

Will not be returning, oriental lady who works the register is very rude and rushes you to order quickly as she yells I need cook more and im only one in store, you have to hurry up. She was so eager to rush everyone that she overcharged me. I wasnt even able to order what I may have liked due to her rushing people out of the store.

A friend originally referred me to this place. I have gone a few times after, the lady running the place is so sweet! She has her regulars and is just sweet to have a morning conversation with once the crazy traffic has died downon Babcock.Hands down the best big kolaches in my opinion. Coworker loved rhe chocolate glazed cake donut.Definitely must try this place for hand made donuts and kolaches.Love that the two gentlemen regulars even say hi.Just a great hidden spot most people pass by during busy Babcock traffic.

Came by this little shop by accident and now it is on my gps as a regular. The lady was very nice and loves to talk. The apple fritters were just the way I like them.

No donut - no matter how good, and these are not good - is worth a GRUMPY owner trying to ruin the day of her customers. The person who runs this place seems to make it her job to be horrible to customers. I took my five year old in here for the first time and never again. Instead of enjoying how he is being cute - she barked at him - something in Korean - that is after we had paid her for the sub-par chocolate covered cake donut. I told my wife about the incident. She said, oh yeah, that lady is horrible all the time.

This shop is always clean and the Asian lady is knowledgeable and friendly to all who walks in. Always out of donuts by noon.The shop on San Padro is a full and city health inspectors should pay them a visit, also ICE.Double Chocolate rules!

The lady who serves you is super efficient and makes sure you do not wait long. She was addressing other customers as sir or lady or maam but when it was my turn she addressed me as pretty! Nothing beats a compliment early in the morning haha! The doughnuts were dope and the cups the coffee come in are thick styrofoam which I love. Will be coming back often!

Disgusting every donut out of the dozen were stale and all 4 kolaches were hard and stale, kolaches were nasty, i also ordered 4 coffees and i was given the bottom half of a 24pk sprite box instead of an actual drink holder which started to leak. coffees were average. the lady literally microwaved our order in front of us and when we asked when they were made she said yestersay. 🤮🤢

I was disappointed with the wait and the general upkeep of the establishment. However the butternut donutI had has changed my life. People are nicer and my life outlook has brightened.
