I am a current patient at this practice and have alway been pleased with my care by Dr. Frogozo. She is highly knowledgeable and professional and rates 5 stars. On this visit I was examined by her resident. I was not informed in advance that I would be seen by the resident. I am a healthcare provider and understand educating new professionals. I also believe in professional courtesy of informing patients when my intern will be treating them. I’ll continue to use Alamo Eye Care because they are the best, even though this year’s visit did not compare to the past. Thank you for excellent care over the years!

Staff is friendly but I literally cannot get ahold of anyone. We have been trying to pay a bill for well over a month and the only way to pay is by contacting the billing department. Every time we call, we are immediately told “leave a message” by an automated message and the phone call ends. How are we supposed to leave a message when it ends?? After weeks of calling both the billing and the actual office, we finally got ahold of one girl on 10/15, who then said that we would get a call back. We never got a call back. We’ve been waiting since the middle of September to speak to someone about this- I’m not going to drive over an hour just to pay a bill when I shouldn’t have to.

The tech Katie, that did the testing to starts the eye exam did a great job was very notlegble. She also answer all of my question. Then, Dr. Swati Kumar came in to do the exam she was very nice and explained the test results very thoroughly shes a great doctor. I would recommend Alamo Eye Care to my family and friends.

I love Everyone here from the person who greeted us to Dr Frogozo! I was having to go to Houston for a specialized contact and it is so nice to be able to get what I need close to home. Everyone was very professional and listened to my needs. They even took time to help my husband find a lab to make a special pair of glasses for work and he isn’t a patient...yet. Today was my first visit to Alamo Eye Care. Very nice office. Everyone helped me feel welcome. I had the most thorough eye exam, in a very relaxed unhurried manner, which is highly important to me. Each person spoke clearly as they explained what they were doing and the results. Each person was friendly and informative. Dr. Frogozo, Dr. Kumar and the entire staff are all very knowledgeable and professional. I am probably the worst type of patient, I’ve had great eye sight and then hit middle age and want my 30 year old eyes back.They’ve been super patient and we’re going through all of the available options. I highly recommend this office to anyone, especially if you want to try multifocal contacts.

The staff is amazing, always kind and helpful. Dr. Forgozo is amazing at what she does and very knowledgeable. I have to wear corrective lenses, & over the years it took me awhile to find someone that understood what I was going through and was able to find me contacts that work best for me. Oh and if you’re looking for some stylish frames, Frankie has some of the best eye frames around. Definitely would recommend coming here.

The doctor and all of the staff involved in the examination were awesome. The administrative staff responsible for insurance and payments, and their communication, however, lacked a whole lot. While making the appointment, I was told that Id be responsible for $78 for my glasses/contact lens examination. After being seen, at the time for payment, I was told that I owed $185. Despite this discrepancy, and the error in communication, I paid the $78, but was not given my contact lens prescription. So, essentially, Ill need to set another, unnecessary appointment elsewhere, to get contact lenses... Wow! So the examination gets 6 out of 5 stars. The office folks get -1... resulting in the 2 stars. 🤨

This was my first visit to Alamo Eye Care and everyone was super nice and helpful. My eye testing and exams were super easy and quick. Staff explained every test that was made and why. Picking out my glasses was though because there were so many great choices, but very helpful when it came to trying them out. Dr. Frogozo was so sweet and I felt very happy about being able to find an optometrist here in San Antonio that specializes in what I have. Great service and great staff all around.

I was diagnosed with Kerataconus 47 years ago and I’ve had many wonderful doctors on the east and west coasts; however, Dr. Frogozo took my vision to another level. My right eye has had corneal scarring for some 30 years but she was able to improve my vision to 20/30 in that eye. She is super talented, qualified, and compassionate. Dr. Frogozo takes all the time needed to answer questions, explains new options, and she thoroughly explains what the plan is. She has a wonderful staff as well. This is an amazing eye care opportunity for those like me who have challenging eye care needs and are hard to fit for medically necessary contact lenses.

The office is quite visually appealing. I was happy with my encounters with the staff for my visit on 8/21/2020 (though the first person who checked me in was a little cold—I had to say hello first) but the person who gave me the new patient paperwork and the one who did all my initial testing, visual acuity etc. were very pleasant. The tech who explained the lens process and the women who went into further detail about insurance coverage were friendly and very knowledgeable.Dr. Frogozo is professional and friendly (also stylish as a plus.) checkout was great as well. I’m very satisfied with my first encounter with this office!

The doctors and optician are wonderful! Everyone in the office is; but I had a weird experience where I was contacting them about ordering new contacts or to set up an appointment if it was time. For two days I got nothing but their voicemail. I left a couple of messages with my info but never got a return call. Once I did get through, I got disconnected mid conversation. They never called back. If they were closed why didn’t they say so?

Dr. Frogozo is awesome! I never thought Id get back to 20/20 but she got me there with a scleral lens; Im thrilled!

I would look elsewhere. There are plenty of other optometrists in the area. She made my son scared to death and cry that I had to carry him out. Hes had many optometrists appointments with no issues. Also they will take 7 months to notify you of any issue they had with insurance and then not answer their phones when you call.

Great experience as a new patient! I was able to get a next day appointment which was amazing because other places I called we’re scheduling two weeks out. When I couldn’t find my insurance card, there was no hassle. The sweet girl at the front desk found the info for me while I had my exam. Techs were friendly and the optometrist was sweet and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

The best contact fitting Ive ever had! I have always had difficulty getting contacts to fit comfortably. I was always told that was what Id have to live with. Ive been in my current lenses for about 6 months now and they are amazing! Cant recommend the Alamo Eye Care enough! The staff is super!

Ignored, patronized, and left with no wetting solution when asked to try on a new lens. I had to wait for someone to come back to the exam room. I asked the doctor 3 times for the prices of the 2 options. She finally had another employee bring me numbers, But they were only for the more EXPENSIVE option. Had to ask her twice for the numbers on BOTH options. Wow. I need to find another eye doctor. My last one had retired.

Im not a patient, but I did try to be. I called their office multiple times to make an appointment, no answer. I left a message with my contact information, asking specific questions, no call back. After days of this, I decided to start looking elsewhere. I wanted to leave a review regarding their customer service because its apparently non-existent.

This is probably one of the best opticals that I have ever been to. The staff is very very nice, and the doctors are very knowledgeable. Everybody treated me as if I was family. Both my son and I just got exams and are very pleased. I’ve decided that I will be getting orthokeratology, and cannot wait to not ware contacts during the day any more.
